A systematic global investigation of pairing properties based on all available experimental data on pairing indicators has been performed for the first time in the framework of covariant density functional theory. It is based on separable pairing interaction of Ref. [1]. The optimization of the scaling factors of this interaction to experimental data clearly reveals its isospin dependence in neutron subsystem. However, the situation is less certain in proton subsystem since similar accuracy of the description of pairing indicators can be achieved both with isospin-dependent and mass-dependent scaling factors. The differences in the functional dependencies of scaling factors lead to the uncertainties in the prediction of proton and neutron pairing properties which are especially pronounced at high isospin and could have a significant impact on some physical observables. For a given part of nuclear chart the scaling factors for spherical nuclei are smaller than those for deformed ones; this feature exists also in non-relativistic density functional theories. Its origin is traced back to particle-vibration coupling in odd-$A$ nuclei which is missing in all existing global studies of pairing. Although the present investigation is based on the NL5(E) covariant energy density functional (CEDF), its general conclusions are expected to be valid also for other CEDFs built at the Hartree level.
A recently introduced separable pairing force for relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) calculations, adjusted in nuclear matter to the pairing gap of the Gogny force, is employed in the 3D RHB model for triaxial shapes. The pairing force is separable in momentum space but, when transformed to coordinate space in calculations of finite nuclei, it is no longer separable because of translational invariance. The corresponding pairing matrix elements are represented as a sum of a finite number of separable terms in the basis of a 3D harmonic oscillator. The 3D RHB model is applied to the calculati…
We have introduced a separable pairing force, which was adjusted to reproduce the pairing properties of the Gogny force in nuclear matter. This separable pairing force is able to describe in relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) calculations the pairing properties in the ground state of finite nuclei on almost the same footing as the original Gogny interaction. In this work we investigate excited states using the Relativistic Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (RQRPA) with the same separable pairing force. For consistency the Goldstone modes and the convergence with various cutoff parame…
Using the Dirac-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approximation to study nuclear pairing, we have found the short-range correlations of the Dirac $^1$S$_0$ pairing fields to be essentially identical to those of the two-nucleon virtual state at all values of the baryon density. We make use of this fact to develop a relativistic separable potential that correctly describes the pairing fields.
The shell-model-like approach (SLAP) based on cranking covariant density functional theory (CDFT) with a separable pairing force is developed. The developed cranking CDFT-SLAP with separable pairing force is applied to investigate the rotational spectra in $^{60}$Fe, including the positive-parity yrast band and two negative-parity signature partner bands, in comparison with the cranking CDFT-SLAP with monopole pairing force calculations. Excellent agreement with the available data is achieved.
The paper considers the electrodisintegration of the deuteron for kinematic conditions of the JLab experiment E-94-019. The calculations have been performed within the covariant Bethe-Salpeter approach with a separable kernel of nucleon-nucleon interactions. The results have been obtained using the relativistic plane wave impulse approximation and compared with experimental data and other models. The influence of nucleon electromagnetic form factors has been investigated.
The observed shears bands in 198Pb and 199Pb are investigated within the framework of tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory, and the separable pairing force is adopted to consider the pairing correlations. The energy spectra, total angular momenta, and transition probabilities agree well with the experimental data. The bandhead energy differences are reproduced satisfactorily without any ad hoc renormalizations when the pairing correlations are taken into account. The angular momentum vectors are discussed in detail to analyze the pairing effects on magnetic rotations.
A separable form of pairing interaction in the $^{1}S_{0}$ channel has been introduced and successfully applied in the description of both static and dynamic properties of superfluid nuclei. By adjusting the parameters to reproduce the pairing properties of the Gogny force in nuclear matter, this separable pairing force is successful in depicting the pairing properties of ground states and vibrational excitations of spherical nuclei on almost the same footing as the original Gogny force. In this article, we extend these investigations for Relativistic Hartree Bogoliubov theory in deformed nucl…
Two different methods of the covariant relativistic separable kernel construction in the Bethe-Salpeter approach are considered. One of them leads in the center-of-mass system of two particles to the quasipotential equation. The constructed 4-dimensional covariant functions are used to reproduce neutron-proton phase shifts for total angular momenta $J=0,1$. Obtained results are compared with other model calculations.
An algebraic Quantum Field Theory formulation of separable pairing interaction for spherical finite systems is presented. The Lipkin formulation of the model Hamiltonian and model wave function is used. The Green function technique is applied to obtain the model energy through the spectral function. Closed equation for the many-body energy of the system is given and comparison with exact models are performed.
Within a simple SO(8) algebraic model, the coexistence between isoscalar and isovector pairing modes can be successfully described using a mean-field method plus restoration of broken symmetries. In order to port this methodology to real nuclei, we need to employ realistic density functionals in the pairing channel. In this article, we present an analytical derivation of matrix elements of a separable pairing interaction in Cartesian coordinates and we correct errors of derivations available in the literature. After implementing this interaction in the code hfodd, we study evolution of pairing…
The problem of pairing in the $^{1}$S$_{0}$ channel of finite nuclei is revisited. In nuclear matter forces of separable form can be adjusted to the bare nuclear force, to any phenomenological pairing interaction such as the Gogny force or to exact solutions of the gap equation. In finite nuclei, because of translational invariance, such forces are no longer separable. Using well known techniques of Talmi and Moshinsky we expand the matrix elements in a series of separable terms, which converges quickly preserving translational invariance and finite range. In this way the complicated problem o…
Within a covariant Bethe-Salpeter approach a rank-six separable neutron-proton interaction kernel for the triplet coupled $^3S_1$-$^3D_1$ partial-wave state is constructed. Two different methods of a relativistic generalization of initially nonrelativistic form factors parametrizing the kernel are considered. The model parameters are determined by fitting the elastic $^3S_1$ and $^3D_1$ phase shifts and the triplet scattering length as well as the asymptotic $D/S$ ratio of the deuteron wave functions and the deuteron binding energy. The $D$-state probability constraints 4-7\% are taken into ac…
Background: Following the 2007 precise measurements of monopole strengths in tin isotopes, there has been a continuous theoretical effort to obtain a precise description of the experimental results. Up to now, there is no satisfactory explanation of why the tin nuclei appear to be significantly softer than 208Pb. Purpose: We determine the influence of finite-range and separable pairing interactions on monopole strength functions in semi-magic nuclei. Methods: We employ self-consistently the Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation on top of spherical Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov solutions. We use t…
We investigate the relation between the rank I separable potential for the covariant Bethe-Salpeter equation and the one-boson-exchange potential. After several trials of the parameter choices, it turns out that it is not always possible to reproduce the phase-shifts calculated from a single term of the one-boson-exchange potential especially of the $σ$-exchange term, separately by the rank I separable potential. Instead, it is shown that the separable potential is useful to parameterize the total nucleon-nucleon interaction.
A separable form of the Gogny pairing force is implemented in tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory for the description of rotational bands in open shell nuclei. The developed method is used to investigate the yrast sequence of 109Ag for an example. The experimental energy spectrum, angular momenta, and electromagnetic transition probabilities are well reproduced by taking into account pairing correlations with the separable pairing force. An abrupt transition of the rotational axis from the long-intermediate plane to the long-short one is obtained and discussed in detail.
In the paper the covariant kernel of the nucleon-nucleon interaction of particles with scalar propagators is analyzed. The Bethe-Salpeter equation for the T matrix is considered in the rank- one separable kernel. The parameters of the kernel for the specific partial-wave channels explicitly connect with the observables { low energy scattering parameters and phase shifts, deuteron binding energy. Covariant separable kernels forthe partial-wave channels with total angular momentum J = 0 (1S0, 3P0) and J = 1 (3S1 -3D1, 1P1, 3P1) are constructed.
The impact of pairing correlations on the fission barriers is investigated in Relativistic Hartree Bogoliubov (RHB) theory and Relativistic Mean Field (RMF)+BCS calculations. It is concluded that the constant gap approximation in the usual RMF+BCS calculations does not provide an adequate description of the barriers. The RHB calculations show that there is a substantial difference in the predicted barrier heights between zero-range and finite range pairing forces even in the case when the pairing strengths of these two forces are adjusted to the same value of the pairing gap at the ground stat…
The solution for the nucleon-nucleon T matrix in the framework of the covariant Bethe-Salpeter approach for a two spin-one-half particle system with a separable kernel of interaction is analyzed. The explicit analytical connection between parameters of the separable kernel and low energy scattering parameters, deuteron binding energy and phase shifts is established.Covariant separable kernels for positive-energy partial channels with total angular momentum J=0 (1S0+, 3P0+) and J=1 (3S1+-3D1+, 1P1+, 3P1+) are constructed by using obtained relations.
Recent developments of the covariant Bethe-Salpeter (BS) approach with the use of the separable interaction for the deuteron are reviewed. It is shown that the BS formalism allows a covariant description of various electromagnetic reactions like the lepton-deuteron scattering, deuteron electro-disintegration, deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of leptons on light nuclei. The procedure of the construction of the separable nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction is discussed. The BS formalism facilitates analysis of the role of the P-waves (negative energy components) in the electromagnetic properties of …
The cranked relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (CRHB) theory has been applied for a systematic study of pairing and rotational properties of actinides and light superheavy nuclei. Pairing correlations are taken into account by the Brink-Booker part of finite range Gogny D1S force. For the first time in the covariant density functional theory (CDFT) framework the pairing properties are studied via the quantities (such as three-point $Δ^{(3)}$ indicators) related to odd-even mass staggerings. The investigation of the moments of inertia at low spin and the $Δ^{(3)}$ indicators shows the need for an …
The odd-even staggerings (OES) on nuclear binding energies are studied systematically within the covariant density functional (CDF) theories, specifically the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (RHFB) and the relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) theories. Taking the finite-range Gogny force D1S as an effective pairing interaction, both CDF models can provide appropriate descriptions on the OESs of nuclear binding energies for C, O, Ca, Ni, Zr, Sn, Ce, Gd and Pb isotopes as well as for N=50 and 82 isotones. However, due to the inconsistence between the non-relativistic pairing interaction an…
An exact solution of nuclear spherical mean-field plus orbit-dependent non-separable pairing model with two non-degenerate j-orbits is presented. The extended one-variable Heine-Stieltjes polynomials associated to the Bethe ansatz equations of the solution are determined, of which the sets of the zeros give the solution of the model, and can be determined relatively easily. A comparison of the solution to that of the standard pairing interaction with constant interaction strength among pairs in any orbit is made. It is shown that the overlaps of eigenstates of the model with those of the stand…
We formulate the finite-temperature relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory for spherical nuclei based on a point-coupling functional, with the Gogny or separable pairing force. Using the functional PC-PK1, the framework is applied to the study of pairing transitions in Ca, Ni, Sn, and Pb isotopic chains. The separable pairing force reproduces the gaps calculated with the Gogny force not only at zero temperature, but also at finite temperatures. By performing a systematic calculation of the even-even Ca, Ni, Sn, and Pb isotopes, it is found that the critical temperature for a pairing transition…
The shape evolutions of the pear-shaped nuclei $^{224}$Ra and even-even $^{144-154}$Ba with temperature are investigated by the finite-temperature relativistic mean field theory with the treatment of pairing correlations by the BCS approach. The free energy surfaces as well as the bulk properties including deformations, pairing gaps, excitation energy, and specific heat for the global minimum are studied. For $^{224}$Ra, three discontinuities found in the specific heat curve indicate the pairing transition at temperature 0.4 MeV, and two shape transitions at temperatures 0.9 and 1.0 MeV, namel…
The rich phenomena of deformations in neutron-deficient krypton isotopes such as the shape evolution with neutron number and the shape coexistence attract the interests of nuclear physicists for decades. It will be interesting to study such shape phenomena using a novel way, i.e., by thermally exciting the nucleus. So in this work, we develop the finite temperature covariant density functional theory for axially deformed nuclei with the treatment of pairing correlations by BCS approach, and apply this approach for the study of shape evolutions in $^{72,74}$Kr with increasing temperatures. For …
The self-consistent separable RPA (random phase approximation) method is formulated for Skyrme forces with pairing. The method is based on a general self-consistent procedure for factorization of the two-body interaction. It is relevant for various density- and current-dependent functionals. The contributions of the time-even and time-odd Skyrme terms as well as of the Coulomb and pairing terms to the residual interaction are taken self-consistently into account. Most of the expression have a transparent analytical form, which makes the method convenient for the treatment and analysis. The sep…
Self-consistent proton-neutron quasiparticle random phase approximation based on the spherical nonlinear point-coupling relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory is established and used to investigate the $β^+$/EC-decay half-lives of neutron-deficient Ar, Ca, Ti, Fe, Ni, Zn, Cd, and Sn isotopes. The isoscalar proton-neutron pairing is found to play an important role in reducing the decay half-lives, which is consistent with the same mechanism in the $β$ decays of neutron-rich nuclei. The experimental $β^+$/EC-decay half-lives can be well reproduced by a universal isoscalar proton-neutron pairing …
The microscopic effective pairing interaction in the $^1S_0$-channel is investigated for two different values of the chemical potential $μ$ starting from the separable form of the Paris NN-potential. It is shown that, within a high accuracy, this effective interaction can be approximated by the off-shell free T-matrix taken at the negative energy $E=2μ$.
We present a new exactly solvable Hamiltonian with a separable pairing interaction and non-degenerate single-particle energies. It is derived from the hyperbolic family of Richardson-Gaudin models and possesses two free parameters, one related to an interaction cutoff and the other to the pairing strength. These two parameters can be adjusted to give an excellent reproduction of Gogny self-consistent mean-field calculations in the canonical basis.
The sources of theoretical uncertainties in the prediction of the two-neutron drip line are analyzed in the framework of covariant density functional theory. We concentrate on single-particle and pairing properties as potential sources of these uncertainties. The major source of these uncertainties can be traced back to the differences in the underlying single-particle structure of the various covariant energy density functionals (CEDF). It is found that the uncertainties in the description of single-particle energies at the two-neutron drip line are dominated by those existing already in know…
Relativistic mean field theory allowing for triaxial deformations is applied for a systematic study of fission barriers in the actinide region. Different pairing schemes are studied in details and it is shown that covariant density functional theory is able to describe fission barriers on a level of accuracy comparable with non-relativistic calculations, even with the best phenomenological macroscopic+microscopic approaches. Triaxiality in the region of the first saddle plays a crucial role in achieving that.
Static and dynamic aspects of the fission process of $^{226}$Th are analyzed in a self-consistent framework based on relativistic energy density functionals. Constrained relativistic mean-field (RMF) calculations in the collective space of axially symmetric quadrupole and octupole deformations, based on the energy density functional PC-PK1 and a $δ$-force pairing, are performed to determine the potential energy surface of the fissioning nucleus, the scission line, the single-nucleon wave functions, energies and occupation probabilities, as functions of deformation parameters. Induced fission d…
We consider 1S0 pairing in infinite neutron matter and nuclear matter and show that in the lowest order approximation, where the pairing interaction is taken to be the bare nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction in the 1S0 channel, the pairing interaction and the energy gap can be determined directly from the 1S0 phase shifts. This is due to the almost separable character of the NN interaction in this partial wave. Since the most recent NN interactions are charge-dependent, we have to solve coupled gap equations for proton-proton, neutron-neutron, and neutron-proton pairing in nuclear matter. The re…
We formulate the self-consistent separable random-phase-approximation (SRPA) method and specify it for Skyrme forces with pairing for the case of axially symmetric deformed nuclei. The factorization of the residual interaction allows to avoid diagonalization of high-rank RPA matrices, which dramatically reduces the computational expense. This advantage is crucial for the systems with a huge configuration space, first of all for deformed nuclei. SRPA takes self-consistently into account the contributions of both time-even and time-odd Skyrme terms as well as of the Coulomb force and pairing. Th…
We perform a 3D reduction of the two-fermion Bethe-Salpeter equation based on Sazdjian's explicitly covariant propagator, combined with a covariant substitute of the projector on the positive-energy free states. We use this combination in the two fermions in an external potential and in the three-fermion problems. The covariance of the two-fermion propagators insures the covariance of the two-body equations obtained by switching off the external potential, or by switching off all interactions between any pair of two fermions and the third one, even if the series giving the 3D potential is limi…
Starting from a Skyrme interaction we study the properties of the low-energy spectrum of quadrupole excitations in 90,92Zr, 92,94Mo. The coupling between one- and two-phonon terms in the wave functions of excited states are taken into account. We use the finite-rank separable approximation which enables one to perform the QRPA calculations in very large two-quasiparticle spaces. Our results from the SGII Skyrme interaction in connection with the volume pairing interaction are in reasonable agreement with experimental data. In particular, we present the successful description of the M1 transiti…
Within a covariant Bethe-Salpeter approach, the relativistic complex separable neutron-proton interaction kernel is proposed. The uncoupled partial-wave states with the total angular momentum $J$=0,1 are considered. The multirank separable potentials elaborated earlier are real-valued and, therefore, enable to describe the elastic part (phase shifts, low-energy parameters, etc.) of the scattering only. The description of the inelasticity parameter comes out of the imaginary part introduced into them. To obtain parameters of the complex potentials the elastic neutron-proton scattering experimen…
A systematic analysis of the ground state and fission properties of actinides and superheavy nuclei important for the $r$ process modeling has been performed within the framework of covariant density functional theory for the first time in Ref. [1]. A brief review of the results related to the heights of primary fission barriers and systematic uncertainties in their prediction is presented. In addition, new results on the potential impact of the isospin dependence of pairing on fission barriers in fission cycling regions is provided for the first time.
Exotic and drip-line nuclei as well as nuclei immersed in a low density gas of neutrons in the outer crust of neutron stars are systematically investigated with respect to their neutron pairing properties. This is done using Skyrme density-functional and different pairing forces such as a density-dependent contact interaction and a separable form of a finite-range Gogny interaction. Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov and BCS theories are compared. It is found that neutron pairing is reduced towards the drip line while overcast by strong shell effects. Furthermore resonances in the continuum can have an i…
A mean-field model with a generalized pairing interaction that accounts for neutron-proton pairing is presented. Both the BCS as well as number-projected solutions of the model are presented. For the latter case the Lipkin-Nogami projection technique was extended to encompass the case of non-separable proton-neutron systems. The influence of the projection on various pairing phases is discussed. In particular, it is shown that number-projection allows for mixing of different pairing phases but, simultanously, acts destructively on the proton-neutron correlations. The basic implications of prot…
Baryons as relativistic bound states in 3-quark correlations are described by an effective Bethe-Salpeter equation when irreducible 3-quark interactions are neglected and separable 2-quark correlations are assumed. We present an efficient numerical method to calculate the nucleon mass and its covariant wave function in this quantum field theoretic quark-diquark model with quark-exchange interaction. Expanding the components of the spinorial wave function in terms of Chebyshev polynomials, the four-dimensional integral equations are in a first step reduced to a coupled set of one-dimensional on…
The shell-model-like approach is implemented to treat the cranking many-body Hamiltonian based on the covariant density functional theory including pairing correlations with exact particle number conservation. The self-consistency is achieved by iterating the single-particle occupation probabilities back to the densities and currents. As an example, the rotational structures observed in the neutron-rich nucleus $^{60}$Fe are investigated and analyzed. Without introducing any \emph{ad hoc} parameters, the bandheads, the rotational spectra, and the relations between the angular momentum and rota…
The structure of low-lying excitation states of even-even $N=40$ isotones is studied using a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian with the collective parameters determined from the relativistic mean-field plus BCS method with the PC-PK1 functional in the particle-hole channel and a separable paring force in the particle-particle channel. The theoretical calculations can reproduce not only the systematics of the low-lying states along the isotonic chain but also the detailed structure of the spectroscopy in a single nucleus. We find a picture of spherical-oblate-prolate shape transition alon…
Pairing correlations play a very important role in atomic nuclei. Although several effective pairing interactions have been used in mean field calculations for nucleons, little is known about effective pairing interactions for hyperons. Based on the quark model, we propose a relationship between effective pairing interactions for hyperons and for nucleons; e.g., for $Λ$s, the strength of the pairing interaction is 4/9 of that for nucleons. A separable pairing force of finite range which has been widely applied to describing pairing correlations in normal nuclei is used to investigate pairing e…

Effective interactions have been used to compute the pairing gap for nuclear and neutron matter in several schemes. In this work we analyze the impact of phase-shift equivalent interactions within the BCS theory on the $^1S_0$-channel pairing gap for a translational invariant many-fermion system such as nuclear and neutron matter. We solve the BCS pairing gap equation on a finite momentum grid for a toy model separable Gaussian potential in the $^1S_0$-channel explicitly evolved through the Similarity Renormalization Group (SRG) transformation and show that in the on-shell and continuum limits…
A new parametrization PC-PK1 for the nuclear covariant energy density functional with nonlinear point-coupling interaction is proposed by fitting to observables for 60 selected spherical nuclei, including the binding energies, charge radii and empirical pairing gaps. The success of PC-PK1 is illustrated in its description for infinite nuclear matter and finite nuclei including the ground-state and low-lying excited states. Particularly, PC-PK1 improves the description for isospin dependence of binding energy along either the isotopic or the isotonic chains, which makes it more reliable for app…
Coupling shape and pairing vibrations in a collective Hamiltonian based on nuclear energy density functionals (II): low-energy excitation spectra of triaxial nuclei
The shape evolution and shape coexistence phenomena in neutron-rich nuclei at $N\approx60$, including Kr, Sr, Zr, and Mo isotopes, are studied in the covariant density functional theory (DFT) with the new parameter set PC-PK1. Pairing correlations are treated using the BCS approximation with a separable pairing force. Sharp rising in the charge radii of Sr and Zr isotopes at N=60 is observed and shown to be related to the rapid changing in nuclear shapes. The shape evolution is moderate in neighboring Kr and Mo isotopes. Similar as the results of previous Hartree-Fock-Bogogliubov (HFB) calcula…
Time-odd mean fields (nuclear magnetism) are analyzed in the framework of covariant density functional theory (CDFT). It is shown that they always provide additional binding to the binding energies of odd-mass nuclei. This additional binding only weakly depends on the RMF parametrization reflecting good localization of the properties of time-odd mean fields in CDFT. The underlying microscopic mechanism is discussed in detail. Time-odd mean fields affect odd-even mass differences. However, our analysis suggests that the modifications of the strength of pairing correlations required to compensat…
We solve a nonlocal generalisation of the NJL model in the Hartree approximation. This model has a separable interaction, as suggested by instanton models of the QCD vacuum. The choice of form factor in this interaction is motivated by the confining nature of the vacuum. A conserved axial current is constructed in the chiral limit of the model and the pion properties are shown to satisfy the Gell-Mann--Oakes--Renner relation. For reasonable values of the parameters the model exhibits quark confinement.
To study the characteristic features of relativistic bound systems, the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE) for two equal mass spin 1/2 particles (like the deuteron) is solved in the cm-frame for a covariant separable interaction kernel. For that purpose the BSE is transformed to an eigenvalue problem which is diagonalized numerically. The Bethe--Salpeter amplitudes (BSAs) are obtained straightforwardly from the resulting eigenvectors. Only positive parity solutions of the eigenvalue problem are considered. To correlate the BSAs to standard quantum mechanical wavefunctions, the corresponding equal-t…
The current investigation aims to study the ground-state properties of one of the most interesting isotopic chains in the periodic table, 94-168Sn, from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line by using the covariant density functional theory, which is a modern theoretical tool for the description of nuclear structure phenomena. The physical observables of interest include the binding energy, separation energy, two-neutron shell gap, rms-radii for protons and neutrons, pairing energy and quadrupole deformation. The calculations are performed for a wide range of neutron numbers, starting f…
A short review of recent results on the global performance of covariant energy density functionals is presented. It is focused on the analysis of the accuracy of the description of physical observables of ground and excited states as well as to related theoretical uncertainties. In addition, a global analysis of pairing properties is presented and the impact of pairing on the position of two-neutron drip line is discussed.
A systematic investigation of even-even superheavy elements in the region of proton numbers $100 \leq Z \leq 130$ and in the region of neutron numbers from the proton-drip line up to neutron number $N=196$ is presented. For this study we use five most up-to-date covariant energy density functionals of different types, with a non-linear meson coupling, with density dependent meson couplings, and with density-dependent zero-range interactions. Pairing correlations are treated within relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) theory based on an effective separable particle-particle interaction of fini…
A systematic investigation of octupole deformed nuclei is presented for even-even systems with $Z\leq 106$ located between the two-proton and two-neutron drip lines. For this study we use five most up-to-date covariant energy density functionals of different types, with a non-linear meson coupling, with density dependent meson couplings, and with density-dependent zero-range interactions. Pairing correlations are treated within relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) theory based on an effective separable particle-particle interaction of finite range. This allows us to assess theoretical uncerta…
The finite-temperature linear response theory based on the finite-temperature relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (FT-RHB) model is developed in the charge-exchange channel to study the temperature evolution of spin-isospin excitations. Calculations are performed self-consistently with relativistic point-coupling interactions DD-PC1 and DD-PCX. In the charge-exchange channel, the pairing interaction can be split into isovector ($T = 1$) and isoscalar ($T = 0$) parts. For the isovector component, the same separable form of the Gogny D1S pairing interaction is used both for the ground-state calculat…
