It is not usual to characterize an operator valued series via completeness of multiplier spaces. In this study, by using a series of bounded linear operators, we introduce the space $M^\infty_{R}\big(\sum_k T_k\big)$ of Riesz summability which is a generalization of the Cesàro summability. Therefore, we give the completeness criteria of these spaces with $c_0(X)$-multiplier convergent operator series. It is a natural consequence that one can characterize the completeness of a normed space through $M^\infty_{R}\big(\sum_k T_k\big)$ which will be assumed that is complete for every $c_0(X)$-multiplier Cauchy operator series. Then, we characterize the continuity and the (weakly) compactness of the summing operator $\mathcal{S}$ from the multiplier space $M^\infty_{R}\big(\sum_k T_k\big)$ to an arbitrary normed space $Y$ through $c_0(X)$-multiplier Cauchy and $\ell_\infty(X)$-multiplier convergent series, respectively. We also prove that if $\sum_kT_k$ is $\ell_\infty(X)$-multiplier Cauchy, then the multiplier space of weakly Riesz-convergence associated to the operator valued series $M^\infty_{wR}\big(\sum_k T_k\big)$ is subspace of $M^\infty_{R}\big(\sum_k T_k\big)$. Among other results, finally, we obtain a new version of the well-known Orlicz-Pettis theorem by using Riesz-summability.
We introduce the class of Orlicz-Pettis polynomials between Banach spaces, defined by their action on weakly unconditionally Cauchy series. We give a number of equivalent definitions, examples and counterexamples which highlight the differences between these polynomials and the corresponding linear operators.
We improve our results on boundedness of the Riesz potential in the central Morrey-Orlicz spaces and the corresponding weak-type version. We also present two new properties of the central Morrey-Orlicz spaces: nontriviality and inclusion property.
Boundedness of the maximal function and the Caldeón-Zygmund singular integrals in central Morrey-Orlicz spaces were proved in papers by the second and third authors. The weak-type estimates have also been proven. Here we show boundedness of the Riesz potential in central Morrey-Orlicz spaces and the corresponding weak-type version.
We consider a Riesz $ϕ$-variation for functions $f$ defined on the real line when $φ:Ω\times[0,\infty)\to[0,\infty)$ is a generalized $Φ$-function. We show that it generates a quasi-Banach space and derive an explicit formula for the modular when the function $f$ has bounded variation. The resulting $BV$-type energy has previously appeared in image restoration models. We generalize and improve previous results in the variable exponent and Orlicz cases and answer a question regarding the Riesz--Medvedev variation by Appell, Banaś and Merentes [\emph{Bounded Variation and Around}, Studies in Non…
We consider generalized Orlicz-Morrey spaces $M_{Φ,φ}(\Rn)$ including their weak versions $WM_{Φ,φ}(\Rn)$. In these spaces we prove the boundedness of the Riesz potential from $M_{Φ,φ_1}(\Rn)$ to $M_{Ψ,φ_2}(\Rn)$ and from $M_{Φ,φ_1}(\Rn)$ to $WM_{Ψ,φ_2}(\Rn)$. As applications of those results, the boundedness of the commutators of the Riesz potential on generalized Orlicz-Morrey space is also obtained. In all the cases the conditions for the boundedness are given either in terms of Zygmund-type integral inequalities on $(φ_{1},φ_{2})$, which do not assume any assumption on monotonicity of $φ_{…
We study point-wise estimates for the modified Riesz potential. We show that the point-wise estimates imply embeddings into Orlicz spaces from the L^1_p-space where the functions are defined in non-smooth domains. The Orlicz functions depend on the geometry of the domain. We show that the Orlicz function is optimal when p=1.
Let $φ$ be a Musielak-Orlicz function satisfying that, for any $(x,\,t)\in\mathbb{R}^n\times(0,\,\infty)$, $φ(\cdot,\,t)$ belongs to the Muckenhoupt weight class $A_\infty (\mathbb{R}^n)$ with the critical weight exponent $q(φ)\in[1,\,\infty)$ and $φ(x,\,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function with $0<i(φ)\le I(φ)\le 1$ which are, respectively, its critical lower type and upper type. In this article, the authors establish the Riesz transform characterizations of the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy spaces $H_φ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ which are generalizations of weighted Hardy spaces and Orlicz-Hardy spaces. Precisely, the…
In this paper we examine boundedness of fractional maximal operator. The main focus is on commutators and maximal commutators on generalized Orlicz spaces for fractional maximal functions and Riesz potentials. We prove their boundedness between generalized Orlicz spaces and give a characterization for functions of bounded mean oscillation. To best of our knowledge, these results are also new in the special case of double phase spaces.
By the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev theorem the classical Riesz potential is bounded on Lebesgue spaces. E. Nakai and H. Sumitomo [16] extended that theorem to the Orlicz spaces. We introduce generalized potential operators on commutative hypergroups and under some assumptions on the kernel we showed the boundedness of these operators from Lebesgue space into certain Orlicz space. Our result is an analogue of Theorem 1.3 in [16].
This paper studies the $N$-tuple noncommutative Orlicz spaces $\bigoplus\limits_{j=1}^{n}L_{p,λ}^{(Φ_{j})}(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$, where $L^{(Φ_{j})}(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$ is noncommutative Orlicz spaces and $\widetilde{\mathcal{M}}$ is the $τ$-measurable operators. Based on the maximum principle, we give the Riesz-Thorin interpolation theorem on $\bigoplus\limits_{j=1}^{n}L_{p,λ}^{(Φ_{j})}(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$ . As applications, the Clarkson inequality and some geometrical properties such as uniform convexity and unform smooth of noncommutative Orlicz space.
Let $L$ be a homogeneous divergence form higher order elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and $X$ a ball quasi-Banach function space on $\mathbb{R}^n$ satisfying some mild assumptions. Denote by $H_{X,\, L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ the Hardy space, associated with both $L$ and $X$, which is defined via the Lusin area function related to the semigroup generated by $L$. In this article, the authors establish both the maximal function and the Riesz transform characterizations of $H_{X,\, L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. The results obtained in this article have a wide range o…
We show how the known theory of noncommutative Orlicz spaces for semifinite von Neumann algebras equipped with an fns trace, may be recovered using crossed product techniques. Then using this as a template, we construct analogues of such spaces for type III algebras. The constructed spaces naturally dovetail with and closely mimic the behaviour of Haagerup $L^p$-spaces. We then define a modified $K$-method of interpolation which seems to better fit the present context, and give a formal prescription for using this method to define what may be regarded as type III Riesz-Fischer spaces.
Let $L$ be the divergence form elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients, $ω$ the positive concave function on $(0,\infty)$ of strictly critical lower type $p_\oz\in (0, 1]$ and $ρ(t)={t^{-1}}/ω^{-1}(t^{-1})$ for $t\in (0,\infty).$ In this paper, the authors study the Orlicz-Hardy space $H_{ω,L}({\mathbb R}^n)$ and its dual space $\mathrm{BMO}_{ρ,L^\ast}({\mathbb R}^n)$, where $L^\ast$ denotes the adjoint operator of $L$ in $L^2({\mathbb R}^n)$. Several characterizations of $H_{ω,L}({\mathbb R}^n)$, including the molecular characterization, the Lusin-area function characte…
We develop aspects of functional analysis in an abstract axiomatic setting, through monoidal and enriched category theory. We work in a given closed category, whose objects we call spaces, and we study R-module objects therein (or algebras of a commutative monad), which we call linear spaces. Building on ideas of Lawvere and Kock, we study functionals on the space of scalar-valued maps, including compactly-supported Radon measures and Schwartz distributions. We develop an abstract theory of vector-valued integration with respect to these scalar functionals and their relatives. We study three a…
Let $ϕ: \mathbb{R}^n\times[0,\fz)\rightarrow[0,\fz)$ be a function such that $ϕ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function and $ϕ(\cdot,t)\in A^{\mathop\mathrm{loc}}_{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ (the class of local weights introduced by V. S. Rychkov). In this paper, the authors introduce a local Hardy space $h_ϕ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ of Musielak-Orlicz type by the local grand maximal function, and a local $\mathop\mathrm{BMO}$-type space $\mathop\mathrm{bmo}_ϕ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ which is further proved to be the dual space of $h_ϕ(\mathbb{R}^n)$. As an application, the authors prove that the class of pointwise multipli…
We inspect the relationship between relative Fourier multipliers on noncommutative Lebesgue-Orlicz spaces of a discrete group and relative Toeplitz-Schur multipliers on Schatten-von-Neumann-Orlicz classes. Four applications are given: lacunary sets; unconditional Schauder bases for the subspace of a Lebesgue space determined by a given spectrum, that is, by a subset of the group; the norm of the Hilbert transform and the Riesz projection on Schatten-von-Neumann classes with exponent a power of 2; the norm of Toeplitz Schur multipliers on Schatten-von-Neumann classes with exponent less than 1.
Let $Φ$ be a concave function on $(0,\infty)$ of strictly lower type $p_Φ\in(0,1]$ and $ω\in A^{\mathop\mathrm{loc}}_{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. We introduce the weighted local Orlicz-Hardy space $h^Φ_ω(\mathbb{R}^n)$ via the local grand maximal function. Let $ρ(t)\equiv t^{-1}/Φ^{-1}(t^{-1})$ for all $t\in(0,\infty)$. We also introduce the $\mathop\mathrm{BMO}$-type space $\mathop\mathrm{bmo}_{ρ,\,ω}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and establish the duality between $h^Φ_ω(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $\mathop\mathrm{bmo}_{ρ,\,ω}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Several real-varaiable characterizations of $h^Φ_ω(\mathbb{R}^n)$ are presente…
Let $\mathcal{X}$ be a metric space with doubling measure and $L$ a one-to-one operator of type $ω$ having a bounded $H_\infty$-functional calculus in $L^2(\mathcal{X})$ satisfying the reinforced $(p_L, q_L)$ off-diagonal estimates on balls, where $p_L\in[1,2)$ and $q_L\in(2,\infty]$. Let $φ:\,\mathcal{X}\times[0,\infty)\to[0,\infty)$ be a function such that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function, $φ(\cdot,t)\in {\mathbb A}_{\infty}(\mathcal{X})$ (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights), its uniformly critical upper type index $I(φ)\in(0,1]$ and $φ(\cdot,t)$ satisfies the uniformly reverse Höl…
Let ${\mathcal X}$ be a metric space with doubling measure, $L$ a nonnegative self-adjoint operator in $L^2({\mathcal X})$ satisfying the Davies-Gaffney estimate, $ω$ a concave function on $(0,\infty)$ of strictly lower type $p_ω\in (0, 1]$ and $ρ(t)={t^{-1}}/ω^{-1}(t^{-1})$ for all $t\in (0,\infty).$ The authors introduce the Orlicz-Hardy space $H_{ω,L}({\mathcal X})$ via the Lusin area function associated to the heat semigroup, and the BMO-type space ${\mathop\mathrm{BMO}_{ρ,L}(\mathcal X)}$. The authors then establish the duality between $H_{ω,L}({\mathcal X})$ and $\mathrm{BMO}_{ρ,L}({\mat…
