The need for medical image encryption is increasingly pronounced, for example to safeguard the privacy of the patients' medical imaging data. In this paper, a novel deep learning-based key generation network (DeepKeyGen) is proposed as a stream cipher generator to generate the private key, which can then be used for encrypting and decrypting of medical images. In DeepKeyGen, the generative adversarial network (GAN) is adopted as the learning network to generate the private key. Furthermore, the transformation domain (that represents the "style" of the private key to be generated) is designed to guide the learning network to realize the private key generation process. The goal of DeepKeyGen is to learn the mapping relationship of how to transfer the initial image to the private key. We evaluate DeepKeyGen using three datasets, namely: the Montgomery County chest X-ray dataset, the Ultrasonic Brachial Plexus dataset, and the BraTS18 dataset. The evaluation findings and security analysis show that the proposed key generation network can achieve a high-level security in generating the private key.
At Crypto'07, Goyal introduced the concept of Accountable Authority Identity-Based Encryption as a convenient tool to reduce the amount of trust in authorities in Identity-Based Encryption. In this model, if the Private Key Generator (PKG) maliciously re-distributes users' decryption keys, it runs the risk of being caught and prosecuted. Goyal proposed two constructions: the first one is efficient but can only trace well-formed decryption keys to their source; the second one allows tracing obfuscated decryption boxes in a model (called weak black-box model) where cheating authorities have no d…
Ciphertext policy attribute based encryption (CP-ABE) is a technique in which user with secret key containing attributes, only able to decrypt the message if the attributes in the policy match with the attributes in secret key. The existing methods that use reasonably computable decryption policies produce the ciphertext of size at least linearly varying with the number of attributes with additional pairing operations during encryption and decryption. In this paper, we propose a scheme in which ciphertext remains constant in length, irrespective of the number of attributes. Our scheme works fo…
We propose the client-side AES256 encryption for a cloud SQL DB. A column ciphertext is deterministic or probabilistic. We trust the cloud DBMS for security of its run-time values, e.g., through a moving target defense. The client may send AES key(s) with the query. These serve the on-the-fly decryption of selected ciphertext into plaintext for query evaluation. The DBMS clears the key(s) and the plaintext at the query end at latest. It may deliver ciphertext to decryption enabled clients or plaintext otherwise, e.g., to browsers/navigators. The scheme functionally offers to a cloud DBMS capab…
Today edge devices commonly connect to the cloud to use its storage and compute capabilities. This leads to security and privacy concerns about user data. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) is a promising solution to address the data privacy problem as it allows arbitrarily complex computations on encrypted data without ever needing to decrypt it. While there has been a lot of work on accelerating HE computations in the cloud, little attention has been paid to the message-to-ciphertext and ciphertext-to-message conversion operations on the edge. In this work, we profile the edge-side conversion opera…
The author proposes, a priori, a simple set of principles that can be developed into a range of algorithms by which means the Torah might be decoded. It is assumed that the Torah is some form of transposition cipher with the unusual property that the plain text of the Torah may also be the cipher text of one or more other documents written in Biblical Hebrew. The decryption principles are based upon the use of Equidistant Letter Sequences (ELS) and the notions of Message Length, Dimensionality, Euclidean Dimension, Topology, Read Direction, Skip Distance and offset. The principles can be appli…
This paper describes a novel bit level stream cipher based symmetric key cryptographic technique. At first, sender and receiver agree upon a symmetric key. Then the symmetric key is formed using Greatest Common Divisor (G.C.D) of sum of even or odd bit positional weightth even or odd number and a symmetric key value is derived from the symmetric by the sender. The symmetric key value is XORed with the ASCII value of the plain text character to get the cipher text character. This is repeated for the entire plain text file. The symmetric key and the entire cipher text file is sent by the sender …
This paper discusses the application of known techniques, knowledge and technology in a novel way for encryption. Two distinct and separate methods are presented. Method 1: Alter the symbol set of the language by adding additional redundant symbols for frequent symbols. This will reduce the high frequency of more commonly used symbols. Hence, frequency analysis upon ciphertext will not be possible. Hence, decryption will be possible. Method 2: Computers use binary base 2. Most encryption systems use ciphering to convert data to ciphertext. The author presents the theory and several possible im…
Vigenere Cipher is one of the classic cryptographic algorithms and included into symmetric key cryptography algorithm, where to encryption and decryption process use the same key. Vigenere Cipher has the disadvantage that if key length is not equal to the length of the plaintext, then the key will be repeated until equal to the plaintext length, it course allows cryptanalysts to make the process of cryptanalysis. And weaknesses of the symmetric key cryptographic algorithm is the safety of key distribution factor, if the key is known by others, then the function of cryptography itself become us…
Large-scale quantum computing is a significant threat to classical public-key cryptography. In strong "quantum access" security models, numerous symmetric-key cryptosystems are also vulnerable. We consider classical encryption in a model which grants the adversary quantum oracle access to encryption and decryption, but where the latter is restricted to non-adaptive (i.e., pre-challenge) queries only. We define this model formally using appropriate notions of ciphertext indistinguishability and semantic security (which are equivalent by standard arguments) and call it QCCA1 in analogy to the cl…
In 2013, Boneh and Zhandry introduced the notion of indistinguishability (IND) in chosen plaintext (CPA) and chosen ciphertext (CCA) attacks by a quantum adversary which is given superposition access to an oracle for encryption and decryption queries but is restricted to classical queries in the challenge phase. In this paper we define IND-CPA and IND-CCA notions for symmetric encryption schemes where the adversary has full quantum superposition access to the oracle, and give constructions that achieve these security notions. Our results are formulated in the concrete security framework.
In this paper we design a stream cipher that uses the algebraic structure of the multiplicative group $\bbbz_p^*$ (where p is a big prime number used in ElGamal algorithm), by defining a quasigroup of order $p-1$ and by doing quasigroup string transformations. The cryptographical strength of the proposed stream cipher is based on the fact that breaking it would be at least as hard as solving systems of multivariate polynomial equations modulo big prime number $p$ which is NP-hard problem and there are no known fast randomized or deterministic algorithms for solving it. Unlikely the speed of kn…
In this article, we have proposed a public key cryptography using Affine-Hill cipher with a generalized Fibonacci matrix(called multinacci matrix). Also proposed a key establishment(exchange of key matrix $K=Q_λ^{k}$ of order $λ\timesλ$ for encryption-decryption) scheme with the help of multinacci sequences under prime modulo. In this scheme, instead of exchanging key matrix, we need to exchange the only pair of numbers $(λ, k)$, which reduces the time complexity as well as space complexity and comes with a large key-space.
In order to protect the security of network data, a high speed chip module for encrypting and decrypting of network data packet is designed. The chip module is oriented for internet information security SOC (System on Chip) design. During the design process, AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and 3DES (Data Encryption Standard) encryption algorithm are adopted to protect the security of network data. The following points are focused: (1) The SOC (System on Chip) design methodology based on IP (Intellectual Property) core is used. AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and 3DES (Data Encryption Sta…
We have designed a new class of public key algorithms based on quasigroup string transformations using a specific class of quasigroups called multivariate quadratic quasigroups (MQQ). Our public key algorithm is a bijective mapping, it does not perform message expansions and can be used both for encryption and signatures. The public key consist of n quadratic polynomials with n variables where n=140, 160, ... . A particular characteristic of our public key algorithm is that it is very fast and highly parallelizable. More concretely, it has the speed of a typical modern symmetric block cipher -…
With the increasing number of mobile applications and the popularity of cloud computing, the combination of these two techniques that named mobile cloud computing (MCC) attracts great attention in recent years. A promising public key encryption scheme, Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE), especially the Ciphertext Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE), has been used for realizing fine-grained access control on encrypted data stored in MCC. However, the computational overhead of encryption and decryption grow with the complexity of the access policy. Thus, maintaining data security as well as…
Round functions used as building blocks for iterated block ciphers, both in the case of Substitution-Permutation Networks and Feistel Networks, are often obtained as the composition of different layers which provide confusion and diffusion, and key additions. The bijectivity of any encryption function, crucial in order to make the decryption possible, is guaranteed by the use of invertible layers or by the Feistel structure. In this work a new family of ciphers, called wave ciphers, is introduced. In wave ciphers, round functions feature wave functions, which are vectorial Boolean functions ob…
This paper gives the definitions of an anomalous super-increasing sequence and an anomalous subset sum separately, proves the two properties of an anomalous super-increasing sequence, and proposes the REESSE2+ public-key encryption scheme which includes the three algorithms for key generation, encryption and decryption. The paper discusses the necessity and sufficiency of the lever function for preventing the Shamir extremum attack, analyzes the security of REESSE2+ against extracting a private key from a public key through the exhaustive search, recovering a plaintext from a ciphertext plus a…
As more sensitive data is shared and stored by third-party sites on the internet, there will be a need to encrypt data stored at these sites. One drawback of encrypting data is that it can be selectively shared only at a coarse-grained level. Attribute based encryption is a public-key-based one-to-many encryption that allows users to encrypt and decry pt data based on user attributes. A promising application of ABE is flexible access control of encrypted data stored in the cloud using access policies and ascribed attributes associated with private keys and cipher text. One.One of the main effi…
This paper introduces Freestyle, a randomized and variable round version of the ChaCha cipher. Freestyle uses the concept of hash based halting condition where a decryption attempt with an incorrect key is likely to take longer time to halt. This makes Freestyle resistant to key-guessing attacks i.e. brute-force and dictionary based attacks. Freestyle demonstrates a novel approach for ciphertext randomization by using random number of rounds for each block, where the exact number of rounds are unknown to the receiver in advance. Freestyle provides the possibility of generating $2^{128}$ differ…
In known security reductions for the Fujisaki-Okamoto transformation, decryption failures are handled via a reduction solving the rather unnatural task of finding failing plaintexts given the private key, resulting in a Grover search bound. Moreover, they require an implicit rejection mechanism for invalid ciphertexts to achieve a reasonable security bound in the QROM. We present a reduction that has neither of these deficiencies: We introduce two security games related to finding decryption failures, one capturing the computationally hard task of using the public key to find a decryption fail…
We propose a homomorphic search protocol based on quantum homomorphic encryption, in which a client Alice with limited quantum ability can give her encrypted data to a powerful but untrusted quantum server and let the server search for her without decryption. By outsourcing the interactive key-update process to a trusted key center, Alice only needs to prepare and encrypt her original data and to decrypt the ciphered search result in linear time. Besides, we also present a compact and perfectly secure quantum homomorphic evaluation protocol for Cliford circuits, where the decryption key can be…
This paper presents a novel and robust chaos-based cryptosystem for secure transmitted images and four other versions. In the proposed block encryption/decryption algorithm, a 2D chaotic map is used to shuffle the image pixel positions. Then, substitution (confusion) and permutation (diffusion) operations on every block, with multiple rounds, are combined using two perturbed chaotic PWLCM maps. The perturbing orbit technique improves the statistical properties of encrypted images. The obtained error propagation in various standard cipher block modes demonstrates that the proposed cryptosystem …
Problem statement: This paper examines Artificial Spiking Neural Network (ASNN) which inter-connects group of artificial neurons that uses a mathematical model with the aid of block cipher. The aim of undertaken this research is to come up with a block cipher where by the keys are randomly generated by ASNN which can then have any variable block length. This will show the private key is kept and do not have to be exchange to the other side of the communication channel so it present a more secure procedure of key scheduling. The process enables for a faster change in encryption keys and a netwo…
The growing potential of modern communications needs the use of secure means to protect information from unauthorized access and use during transmission. In general, encryption a message using cryptography techniques and then hidden a message with a steganography methods provides an additional layer of protection. Furthermore, using these combination reduces the chance of finding the hidden message. This paper proposed a system which combines schemes of cryptography with steganography for hiding secret messages and to add more complexity for steganography. The proposed system secret message en…
This paper proposes a fully homomorphic encryption encapsulated difference expansion (FHEE-DE) scheme for reversible data hiding in encrypted domain (RDH-ED). In the proposed scheme, we use key-switching and bootstrapping techniques to control the ciphertext extension and decryption failure. To realize the data extraction directly from the encrypted domain without the private key, a key-switching based least-significant-bit (KS-LSB) data hiding method has been designed. In application, the user first encrypts the plaintext and uploads ciphertext to the server. Then the server performs data hid…
The McEliece public-key encryption scheme has become an interesting alternative to cryptosystems based on number-theoretical problems. Differently from RSA and ElGa- mal, McEliece PKC is not known to be broken by a quantum computer. Moreover, even tough McEliece PKC has a relatively big key size, encryption and decryption operations are rather efficient. In spite of all the recent results in coding theory based cryptosystems, to the date, there are no constructions secure against chosen ciphertext attacks in the standard model - the de facto security notion for public-key cryptosystems. In thi…
The modified Paillier cryptosystem has become extremely popular and applied in many fields, owning to its additive homomorphism. This cryptosystem provides weak private keys and a strong private key. A weak private key only can decrypt ciphertexts under the corresponding public key. The strong private key can decrypt all ciphertexts even under different public keys. When the modified Paillier cryptosystem is applied in a system, the member, often the system administrator, has the strong private key and can decrypt all ciphertexts. If this system administrator is attacked or compromised, the se…
In this paper, a multilayer perceptron guided key generation for encryption/decryption (MLPKG) has been proposed through recursive replacement using mutated character code generation for wireless communication of data/information. Multilayer perceptron transmitting systems at both ends accept an identical input vector, generate an output bit and the network are trained based on the output bit which is used to form a protected variable length secret-key. For each session, different hidden layer of multilayer neural network is selected randomly and weights or hidden units of this selected hidden…
The classification of quantum symmetric-key encryption protocol is presented. According to five elements of a quantum symmetric-key encryption protocol: plaintext, ciphertext, key, encryption algorithm and decryption algorithm, there are 32 different kinds of them. Among them, 5 kinds of protocols have already been constructed and studied, and 21 kinds of them are proved to be impossible to construct, the last 6 kinds of them are not yet presented effectively. That means the research on quantum symmetric-key encryption protocol only needs to consider with 5 kinds of them nowadays.
We present a classification of quantum public-key encryption protocols. There are six elements in quantum public-key encryption: plaintext, ciphertext, public-key, private-key, encryption algorithm and decryption algorithm. According to the property of each element which is either quantum or classical, the quantum public-key encryption protocols can be divided into 64 kinds. Among 64 kinds of protocols, 8 kinds have already been constructed, 52 kinds can be proved to be impossible to construct and the remaining 4 kinds have not been presented effectively yet. This indicates that the research o…
Homomorphic encryption is a very useful gradient protection technique used in privacy preserving federated learning. However, existing encrypted federated learning systems need a trusted third party to generate and distribute key pairs to connected participants, making them unsuited for federated learning and vulnerable to security risks. Moreover, encrypting all model parameters is computationally intensive, especially for large machine learning models such as deep neural networks. In order to mitigate these issues, we develop a practical, computationally efficient encryption based protocol f…
- In this paper a session based symmetric key encryption system has been proposed and is termed as Permutated Cipher Technique (PCT). This technique is more fast, suitable and secure for larger files. In this technique the input file is broken down into blocks of various sizes (of 2 power n order) and encrypted by shifting the position of each bit by a certain value for a certain number of times. A key is generated randomly wherein the length of each block is determined. Each block length generates a unique value of number of bits to be skipped. This value determines the new position of the bi…
Multimedia information availability has increased dramatically with the advent of mobile devices. but with this availability comes problems of maintaining the security of information that is displayed in public. Many approaches have been used or proposed for providing security for information dissemination over networks, protection system classified with more specific as encryption information, and combination between video compression and encryption to increase information security. The strength of the combination between Video compression and encryption science is due to the nonexistence of …
With the advancement in technology, digital images can easily be transmitted and stored over the Internet. Encryption is used to avoid illegal interception of digital images. Encrypting large-sized colour images in their original dimension generally results in low encryption/decryption speed along with exerting a burden on the limited bandwidth of the transmission channel. To address the aforementioned issues, a new encryption scheme for colour images employing convolutional autoencoder, DNA and chaos is presented in this paper. The proposed scheme has two main modules, the dimensionality conv…
We define a pseudorandom function (PRF) $F: \mathcal{K} \times \mathcal{X} \rightarrow \mathcal{Y}$ to be bi-homomorphic when it is fully Key homomorphic and partially Input Homomorphic (KIH), i.e., given $F(k_1, x_1)$ and $F(k_2, x_2)$, there is an efficient algorithm to compute $F(k_1 \oplus k_2, x_1 \ominus x_2)$, where $\oplus$ and $\ominus$ are (binary) group operations. The homomorphism on the input is restricted to a fixed subset of the input bits, i.e., $\ominus$ operates on some pre-decided $m$-out-of-$n$ bits, where $|x_1| = |x_2| = n$, and the remaining $n-m$ bits are identical in b…
This paper proposes a new homomorphic functional encryption using modular multiplications over a hidden ring. Unlike traditional homomorphic encryption where users can only passively perform ciphertext addition or multiplication, the homomorphic functional encryption retains homomorphic addition and scalar multiplication properties, but also allows for the user's inputs through polynomial variables. The proposed homomorphic encryption can be applied to any polynomials over a finite field, with their coefficients considered as their privacy. We denote the polynomials before homomorphic encrypti…
An offline OpenPGP user might want to forward part or all of their email messages to third parties. Given that messages are encrypted, this requires transforming them into ciphertexts decryptable by the intended forwarded parties, while maintaining confidentiality and authentication. It is shown in recent lines of work that this can be achieved by means of proxy-re-encryption schemes, however, while encrypted email forwarding is the most mentioned application of proxy-re-encryption, it has not been implemented in the OpenPGP context, to the best of our knowledge. In this paper, we adapt the se…
