On Jacobi quasi-Nijenhuis algebroids and Courant-Jacobi algebroid morphisms

We propose a definition of Jacobi quasi-Nijenhuis algebroid and show that any such Jacobi algebroid has an associated quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid. Therefore, also an associated Courant-Jacobi algebroid is obtained. We introduce the notions of quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid morphism and Courant-Jacobi algebroid morphism providing also some examples of Courant-Jacobi algebroid morphisms.

A note on partial quasi-morphisms and products in Lagrangian Floer homology in cotangent bundles

We define partial quasi-morphisms on the group of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms of the cotangent bundle using the spectral invariants in Lagrangian Floer homology with conormal boundary conditions, where the product compatible with the PSS isomorphism and the homological intersection product is lacking.

On continuity of quasi-morphisms for symplectic maps

We discuss $C^0$-continuous homogeneous quasi-morphisms on the identity component of the group of compactly supported symplectomorphisms of a symplectic manifold. Such quasi-morphisms extend to the $C^0$-closure of this group inside the homeomorphism group. We show that for standard symplectic balls of any dimension, as well as for compact oriented surfaces, other than the sphere, the space of such quasi-morphisms is infinite-dimensional. Quasi-morphisms on contactomorphism groups and contact rigidity

We build homogeneous quasi-morphisms on the universal cover of the contactomorphism group for certain prequantizations of monotone symplectic toric manifolds. This is done using Givental's nonlinear Maslov index and a contact reduction technique for quasi-morphisms. We show how these quasi-morphisms lead to a hierarchy of rigid subsets of contact manifolds. We also show that the nonlinear Maslov index has a vanishing property, which plays a key role in our proofs. Finally we present applications to orderability of contact manifolds and Sandon-type metrics on contactomorphism groups.

Quasi-morphisms and symplectic quasi-states for convex symplectic manifolds

We use quantum and Floer homology to construct (partial) quasi-morphisms on the universal cover of the group of compactly supported Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms for a certain class of non-closed strongly semi-positive symplectic manifolds $(M,ω)$. This leads to construction of (partial) symplectic quasi-states on the space of continuous functions on $M$ that are constant near infinity. The work extends the results by Entov and Polterovich, which apply in the closed case.

Quasi-states, quasi-morphisms, and the moment map

We prove that symplectic quasi-states and quasi-morphisms on a symplectic manifold descend under symplectic reduction on a superheavy level set of a Hamiltonian torus action. Using a construction due to Abreu and Macarini, in each dimension at least four we produce a closed symplectic toric manifold with infinite dimensional spaces of symplectic quasi-states and quasi-morphisms, and a one-parameter family of non-displaceable Lagrangian tori. Calabi quasi-morphisms for some non-monotone symplectic manifolds

In this work we construct Calabi quasi-morphisms on the universal cover of the group Ham(M) of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms for some non-monotone symplectic manifolds. This complements a result by Entov and Polterovich which applies in the monotone case. Moreover, in contrast to their work, we show that these quasi-morphisms descend to non-trivial homomorphisms on the fundamental group of Ham(M).

Quasi-morphisms and the Poisson bracket

For a class of symplectic manifolds, we introduce a functional which assigns a real number to any pair of continuous functions on the manifold. This functional has a number of interesting properties. On the one hand, it is Lipschitz with respect to the uniform norm. For a closed connected manifold N, we construct a family of functions on the Hamiltonian group G of the cotangent bundle T^*N, and a family of functions on the space of smooth functions with compact support on T^*N. These satisfy properties analogous to those of partial quasi-morphisms and quasi-states of Entov and Polterovich. The families are parametrized by the first real cohomology of N. Quasi-morphisms on contactomorphism groups and Grassmannians of 2-planes

We construct a natural prequantization space over a monotone product of a toric manifold and an arbitrary number of complex Grassmannians of 2-planes in even-dimensional complex spaces, and prove that the universal cover of the identity component of the contactomorphism group of its total space carries a nonzero homogeneous quasi-morphism. Quasi-morphisms on cotangent bundles and symplectic homogenization

For a class of closed manifolds N, we construct a family of functions on the Hamiltonian group G of the cotangent bundle T*N. These restrict to homogeneous quasi-morphisms on the subgroup generated by Hamiltonians with support in a given cotangent ball bundle. The family is parametrized by the first real cohomology of N, and in the case N=T^n, it coincides with Viterbo's symplectic homogenization operator. These functions have applications to the algebraic and geometric structure of G and its subgroups, to symplectic rigidity, and to Aubry-Mather and weak KAM theory.

On Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis Lie algebroids

We propose a definition of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis Lie algebroids as a natural generalization of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds and show that any such Lie algebroid has an associated quasi-Lie bialgebroid. Therefore, also an associated Courant algebroid is obtained. We introduce the notion of a morphism of quasi-Lie bialgebroids and of the induced Courant algebroids morphism and provide some examples of Courant algebroid morphisms. Finally, we use paired operators to deform doubles of Lie and quasi-Lie bialgebroids and find an application to generalized complex geometry.

Symplectic quasi-states and semi-simplicity of quantum homology

We review and streamline our previous results and the results of Y.Ostrover on the existence of Calabi quasi-morphisms and symplectic quasi-states on symplectic manifolds with semi-simple quantum homology. As an illustration, we discuss the case of symplectic toric Fano 4-manifolds. We present also new results due to D.McDuff: she observed that for the existence of quasi-morphisms/quasi-states it suffices to assume that the quantum homology contains a field as a direct summand, and she showed that this weaker condition holds true for one point blow-ups of non-uniruled symplectic manifolds.

Courant morphisms and moment maps

We study Hamiltonian spaces associated with pairs (E,A), where E is a Courant algebroid and A\subset E is a Dirac structure. These spaces are defined in terms of morphisms of Courant algebroids with suitable compatibility conditions. Several of their properties are discussed, including a reduction procedure. This set-up encompasses familiar moment map theories, such as group-valued moment maps, and it provides an intrinsic approach from which different geometrical descriptions of moment maps can be naturally derived.
