We collected the experimental data of transverse momentum spectra of identified particles produced in proton-proton ($p$-$p$), deuteron-gold ($d$-Au or $d$-$A$), gold-gold (Au-Au or $A$-$A$), proton-lead ($p$-Pb or $p$-$A$), and lead-lead (Pb-Pb or $A$-$A$) collisions measured by the ALICE, CMS, LHCb, NA49, NA61/SHINE, PHENIX, and STAR collaborations at different center-of mass energies. The multisource thermal model at the quark level or the participant quark model is used to describe the experimental data. The free parameters, the effective temperature $T$, entropy index-related $n$, and revised index $a_{0}$, in the revised Tsallis--Pareto-type function are extracted at the quark level. In most cases, $T$ and $n$ in central collisions are larger than those in peripheral collisions, and $a_0$ does not change in different centrality classes. With the increase in the mass of produced particle or participant quark, $T$ and $a_0$ increase, and $n$ does not change significantly. The behaviors of related parameters from $p$-$p$, $p(d)$-$A$, and $A$-$A$ collisions are similar.
Centrality-dependent double-differential transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and (anti)protons produced in mid-pseudorapidity interval in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV gold-gold and deuteron-gold collisions with different centralities are analyzed by the blast-wave model with Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics. Meanwhile, the mentioned spectra in mid-rapidity interval in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV lead-lead and $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV proton-lead collisions with different centralities are analyzed by the same model. The model results are approximately in agreement with the experimental data …
Centrality-dependent double-differential transverse momentum spectra of negatively charged particles ($π^-$, $K^-$ and $\bar p$) at mid-(pseudo)rapidity interval in nuclear collisions are analyzed by the standard distribution in terms of multi-component. The experimental data measured in gold-gold (Au-Au) collisions by the PHENIX Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions by the ALICE Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are studied. The effective temperature, initial temperature, kinetic freeze-out temperature, transverse flow v…
Two-particle number and transverse momentum differential correlation functions are powerful tools for unveiling the detailed dynamics and particle production mechanisms involved in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Measurements of transverse momentum correlators $P_2$ and $G_2$, in particular, provide added information not readily accessible with better known number correlation functions $R_2$. However, it is found that the $R_2$ and $G_2$ correlators are somewhat sensitive to the details of the experimental procedure used to measure them. They exhibit, in particular, a dependence on the coll…
We study the centrality dependence of the mid-rapidity (|y|<0.5) yield (dN/dy) and transverse momentum distributions of K*(892)0 and ϕ(1020) resonances produced in Pb+Pb collisions at root(sNN) = 2.76 TeV. The mid-rapidity density (dN/dy) and the shape of the transverse momentum spectra are well reproduced by our earlier proposed Unified Statistical Thermal Freeze-out Model (USTFM) which incorporates the effects of both longitudinal as well as transverse hydrodynamic flow. The freeze-out properties in terms of kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity parameter are extracted …
We have studied the transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of the final-state strange particles, including $K^{\pm}$, $ϕ$, $\itΞ$, and $\itΩ$, produced in high energy lead-lead (Pb-Pb), proton-lead ($p$-Pb), xenon-xenon (Xe-Xe) collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Taking into account the contribution of multi-quark composition, whose probability density distribution is described by the modified Tsallis-Pareto-type function, we simulate the $p_T$ spectra of the final-state strange particles by a Monte Carlo method, which is shown to be in good agreement with the experimental data in most…
Transverse Spherocity is an event structure variable which provide an effective way to disentangle the data into hard and soft components of the processes corresponding to events with small and large numbers of multi-parton interactions (MPI), respectively. Recent experimental results in small systems from the LHC suggest the importacnce of transverse spherocity variable in the classification of the events. In this contribution, we have studied the dynamics of identified particle production in Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV using A Multi-Phase Transport Model (AMPT) and the rec…
The centrality dependence of the charged multiplicity, transverse energy, and elliptic flow coefficient is studied in a hydrodynamic model, using a variety of different initializations which model the initial energy or entropy production process as a hard or soft process, respectively. While the charged multiplicity depends strongly on the chosen initialization, the p_t-integrated elliptic flow for charged particles as a function of charged particle multiplicity and the p_t-differential elliptic flow for charged particles in minimum bias events turn out to be almost independent of the initial …
Forward rapidity $J/ψ$ meson production in proton-nucleus collisions can be an important constraint of descriptions of the small-$x$ nuclear wavefunction. In an earlier work we studied this process using a dipole cross section satisfying the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation, fit to HERA inclusive data and consistently extrapolated to the nuclear case using a standard Woods-Saxon distribution. In this paper we present further calculations of these cross sections, studying the mean transverse momentum of the meson and the dependence on collision centrality. We also extend the calculation to backward …
The dependence of the multiplicity and the transverse momentum distribution on the number of collisions are studied for central and peripheral Au-Au collisions at SPS, RHIC and LHC energies in the framework of percolation of strings. A scaling law relating the multiplicity to the mean transverse momentum is obtained. Our results are in overall agreement with the SPS and RHIC data, obtaining a suppression on $p_T$ distribution even for $p_T$ larger than 1 GeV/c.
The centrality dependence of directed and elliptic flow in light and heavy systems of colliding nuclei is studied within two microscopic transport models at energies from 1 AGeV to 160 A GeV. The pion directed flow has negative slope in the midrapidity range irrespective of bombarding energy and mass number of the colliding ions. In contrast, the directed flow of nucleons vanishes and even develops antiflow in the midrapidity range in (semi)peripheral collisions at energies around 11.6 A GeV and higher. The origin of the disappearance of flow is linked to nuclear shadowing. Since the effect is…
The transverse energy and charged particle multiplicity at midrapidity and their ratio are evaluated in a statistical model with the longitudinal and transverse flows for different centrality bins at RHIC at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=130$ and 200 GeV. Full description of decays of hadron resonances is applied in these estimations. The predictions of the model at the freeze-out parameters, which were determined independently from measured particle yields and $p_{T}$ spectra, agree qualitatively well with the experimental data. The observed overestimation of the ratio can be explained for more central coll…
We have carried out a wide study of shadowing and antishadowing effects on \jpsi\ production in \dAu\ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. We have studied the effects of three different gluon nPDF sets, using the exact kinematics for a $2\to 2$ process, namely $g+g\to J/ψ+g$ as expected from LO pQCD. We have computed the rapidity dependence of \RCP\ and $R_{d\rm Au}$ for the different centrality classes of the PHENIX data. For mid rapidities, we have also computed the transverse-momentum dependence of the nuclear modification factor, which cannot be predicted with the usual $2\to 1$ simplifi…
The specific shear viscosity, $η/s$, of the quark-gluon plasma formed in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC is estimated based on the progressive longitudinal broadening of transverse momentum two-particle correlators, $G_2$, reported as a function of collision centrality by the STAR and ALICE experiments. Estimates are computed as a function of collision centrality using the Gavin ansatz which relates the $G_2$ longitudinal broadening to the specific shear viscosity. Freeze out times required for the use of the ansatz are computed using a linear fit of freeze out times rep…
In p-p collisions the average transverse momentum is known to be correlated with the multiplicity of produced particles. The correlation is shown to survive in a superposition model of nucleus-nucleus collisions. When properly parameterized, the correlation strength appears to be independent of the collision centrality - it is the same in p-p and central A-A collisions. However, the correlation is strongly suppressed by the centrality fluctuations.
The thermodynamic properties of matter created in high-energy heavy-ion collisions have been studied in the framework of the non-extensive Tsallis statistics. The transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$)~spectra of identified charged particles (pions, kaons, protons) and all charged particles from the available experimental data of Au-Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) energies and Pb-Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies are fitted by the Tsallis distribution. The fit parameters, $q$ and $T$ measure the degree of deviation from an equilibrium state and th…
The fluctuations due to the clustering of color sources can explain the behaviour of the scaled multiplicity variance and transverse momentum fluctuations with centrality. They also predict a nonmonotonic behaviour with centrality for the multiplictiy associated to high pT events. The clustering of color sources gives rise to an increase in the long-range correaltions with centrality as well as to a supression at high centrality with respect to superposition model predictions.
We argue that the transverse mass spectra of identified hadrons as measured in gold-gold collisions at BNL's Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) follows a generalized scaling law. Such a scaling behavior is motivated by the idea of a Color Glass Condensate, or more generally, saturation of the gluon density. In particular, we describe the shapes of transverse mass spectra as a function of centrality. This scaling of the transverse mass spectrum is shown to be consistent with previously observed scaling of multiplicity with centrality.
The transverse momentum spectra of seven identified hadrons produced in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ and 5.02 TeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have been investigated in the framework of the recombination model (RM). Soft, semihard and hard partons all play important roles in our model and are uniformly treated for all hadrons produced. The investigation has been extended to non-central collisions and the parameters controlling the momentum degradation of semihard partons have been tuned. Our study shows good agreement between theoretical results and experimental data. To …
Event-by-event fluctuations in the multiplicities of charged particles and photons, and the total transverse energy in 158$\cdot A$ GeV Pb+Pb collisions are studied for a wide range of centralities. For narrow centrality bins the multiplicity and transverse energy distributions are found to be near perfect Gaussians. The effect of detector acceptance on the multiplicity fluctuations has been studied and demonstrated to follow statistical considerations. The centrality dependence of the charged particle multiplicity fluctuations in the measured data has been found to agree reasonably well with …
The centrality dependence of pseudorapidity density of charged particles and transverse energy is studied for a wide range of collision energies for heavy-ion collisions at midrapidity from 7.7 GeV to 5.02 TeV. A two-component model approach has been adopted to quantify the soft and hard components of particle production, coming from nucleon participants and binary nucleon-nucleon collisions, respectively. Within experimental uncertainties, the hard component contributing to the particle production has been found not to show any clear collision energy dependence from RHIC to LHC. The effect of…
We have carried out a wide study of Cold Nuclear Matter (CNM) effects on J/Psi production in d+Au, Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN)=200 GeV. We have studied the effects of three different gluon-shadowing parametrisations, using the usual simplified kinematics for which the momentum of the gluon recoiling against the J/Psi is neglected as well as an exact kinematics for a 2 -> 2 process, namely g+g -> J/psi+g as expected from LO pQCD. We have shown that the rapidity distribution of the nuclear modification factor R_dAu, and particularly its anti-shadowing peak, is systematically shifted…
We take the experimental data for transverse momentum spectra of identified charged hadrons in different centrality classes for nucleus-nucleus (A+A) collisions at various Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) energies measured by the STAR collaboration. We analyse these data in the framework of color string percolation model (CSPM) in order to extract various percolation parameters at different centralities at RHIC energies to study the effect of collision geometry and collision energy. We use these parameters to study the centrality dependent behaviour of initial temperature of the percolat…
Two aspects of high-energy \pp collisions share common phenomenological elements: (a) A correlation between jet production and \pp centrality is suggested by the transverse partonic structure of hadrons inferred from deep-inelastic scattering data. (b) The {\em underlying event} (UE) is defined as the final-state particles complementary to a triggered high-energy dijet. An observable common to both topics is variation of so-called {\em transverse multiplicity} $N_\perp$ with a $p_{t,trig}$ dijet trigger. We test assumptions associated with \pp collision centrality and the UE. We determine the …
Transverse momentum spectra of pion, proton, lambda, cascade, Omega and deuteron (d) in different centrality intervals in nucleus nucleus collisions at the center of mass energy are analyzed by the blast wave model with Boltzmann Gibbs statistics. We extracted the kinetic freezeout temperature, transverse flow velocity and kinetic freezeout volume from the transverse momentum spectra of the particles. It is observed that the non-strange and strange (multi strange) particles freezeout separately due to different reaction cross-sections. While the freezeout volume and transverse flow velocity ar…
The single-freeze-out model of hadron production is used to describe the particle ratios and the transverse-momentum spectra from RHIC. The emphasis is put on the new measurements done at the highest beam energy of 200 GeV. An overall very good agreement is found between the data and the model predictions. The data for different centrality windows are analyzed separately. A simple scaling of the two expansion parameters of the model with the centrality is found. Interestingly, this scaling turns out to be equivalent to the scaling of hadron production with the number of wounded nucleons.
We attempt to describe the rapidity distribution of P, P-bar, K+ and K- for the most central Au+Au collisions at root(sNN) of 62.4 GeV,130 GeV and 200 GeV. The transverse momentum spectra of strange as well as non-strange hadrons e.g. P, P-bar, K+, K-, Lambda, Lambda-bar, Cascade,Cascade-bar and (Omega + Omega-bar) are studied for the whole centrality classes at all the three RHIC energies. The experimental data of the transverse momentum spectra and the rapidity distributions are well reproduced. This is done by using a statistical thermal freeze-out model which incorporates the rapidity (col…
In this paper, we study and predict the charged-particle pseudorapidity multiplicity density ($\frac{dN_{ch}}{dη}$), transverse momentum spectra of identified particles and their ratios in relativistic heavy ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), using the string-melting version of a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model with improved quark coalescence method. Results of the charged-particle pseudorapidity multiplicity density from AMPT model calculations for Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV are compared with the experimental data. Good agreements are generally found betwe…
Scattering of particles produced in Au+Au collisions at RHIC can wrestle the system into a state near local thermal equilibrium. I illustrate how measurements of the centrality dependence of the mean transverse momentum and its fluctuations can exhibit this thermalization.
We describe the transverse momentum spectra of $π^\pm$, $K^\pm$, $p$, and $\bar{p}$ produced in different centralities gold-gold (Au-Au) collisions at different collision energies range from 7.7 to 62.4 GeV by a two-component Erlang distribution. The fitting results are consistent with the experimental data, and the centrality- and energy-dependent yield ratios of negative to positive particles are obtained from the normalization constants. Based on the yield ratios, the energy- and centrality-dependent chemical potentials of light hadrons and quarks are extracted. The study shows that the dep…
We study the influence of the centrality definition and detector efficiency on the net-proton kurtosis for minimum bias Au+Au collisions at a beam energy of $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}= 7.7$ GeV by using the UrQMD model. We find that different ways of defining the centrality lead to different cumulant ratios. Moreover, we demonstrate that the kurtosis is suppressed for central collisions when a wider transverse momentum acceptance is used. Finally, the influence of a detector efficiency on the measured cumulant ratios is estimated.
Thermodynamic Analysis of Transverse Momentum Spectra in Pb-Pb Collisions at 2.76 TeV: Centrality Dependence of Temperature, Freezeout Parameters and Non-Extensitivity
Kinetic Freeze-Out Properties from Transverse Momentum Spectra of kaon, Pion, and (anti-)proton production in U+U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 193 GeV
Transverse momentum distributions of deuterons and anti-deuterons in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{S_{NN}}$=14.5, 62.4 and 200 GeV with different centrality are studied in the framework of the multisource thermal model. Transverse momentum spectra are conformably and approximately described by the Tsallis distribution. The dependence of parameters (average transverse momenta, effective temperature and entropy index) on event centrality are obtained. It is found that the parameters increase with increase of the average number of particles involved in collisions, which reveals the nuclear stopping …
In this study, we systematically investigate deformed Xe-Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV center of mass energy. We exploit the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to compute transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) distribution, nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ and relative suppression in terms of $R_{CP}$ as a function of transverse momentum and centrality of collision of charged hadrons in body-body and tip-tip geometrical configurations, respectively. We have compared HYDJET++ model results to those from ALICE experimental data and AMPT model (String-Melting version) results. Minimum bias Xe-Xe collisions show a…
Transverse momentum spectra of $π^+$, $K^+$, $p$, $K^0_s$, $Λ$, $Ξ$ or $\barΞ^+$ and $Ω$ or $\barΩ^+$ or $Ω+\barΩ$ in Copper-Copper (Cu-Cu), Gold-Gold (Au-Au) and Lead-Lead (Pb-Pb) collisions at 200 GeV, 62.4 GeV and 2.76 TeV respectively, are analyzed in different centrality bins by the blast wave model with Tsallis statistics. The model results are approximately in agreement with the experimental data measured by BRAHMS, STAR and ALICE Collaborations in special transverse momentum ranges. Kinetic freeze out temperature, transverse flow velocity and kinetic freezeout volume are extracted from…
The transverse momentum spectra of final-state light flavor particles produced in proton-proton (p-p), copper-copper (Cu-Cu), gold-gold (Au-Au), lead-lead (Pb-Pb), and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions for different centralities at relativistic heavy ion collider (RHIC) and large hadron collider (LHC) energies are studied in the framework of a multisource thermal model. The experimental data measured by the STAR, CMS, and ALICE Collaborations are consistent with the results calculated by the multi-component Erlang distribution and Tsallis Statistics. The effective temperature and real temperature …
The newly proposed combinational approach, called the grand combinational model (GCM), as would be described in detail in the text, is still under our careful scrutiny. By applying it, we have attempted to analyze here the characteristics of both the transverse momentum($p_{\rm{T}}$)-, and centrality-dependence of production of the main varieties of the secondaries measured in $AuAu$ collisions at BNL-RHIC at both $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=130$ GeV and $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=200$ GeV by PHENIX Collaboration. Besides, with the help of it, we have also investigated the nature of centrality-dependence of …
The centrality dependence of transverse momentum spectra for identified hadrons at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}= 200$ GeV is systematically studied in a quark combination model. The $\mathrm{{p}_{T}}$ spectra of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p(\bar{p})$ and $Λ(\barΛ)$ in different centrality bins and the nuclear modification factors ($R_{CP}$) for these hadrons are calculated. The centrality dependence of the average collective transverse velocity $<β(r)>$ for the hot and dense quark matter is obtained in Au+Au collisions, and it is applied to a relative smaller Cu+Cu collision s…
The transverse momentum spectra of identified particles at midrapidity in Pb + Pb collisions at Root(sNN) = 2.76 TeV have been studied as a function of collision centrality by using a unified statistical thermal freeze-out model. The calculated results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data measured by the ALICE experiment at LHC. The model calculations provide the thermal freeze-out conditions in terms of the temperature and collective flow parameters for different particle species. We observe a rise in the thermal freeze-out temperature but a mild decrease in the collec…
We study the charged particle and transverse energy production mechanism from AGS, SPS, RHIC to LHC energies in the framework of nucleon and quark participants. At RHIC and LHC energies, the number of nucleons-normalized charged particle and transverse energy density in pseudorapidity, which shows a monotonic rise with centrality, turns out to be an almost centrality independent scaling behaviour when normalized to the number of participant quarks. A universal function which is a combination of logarithmic and power-law, describes well the charged particle and transverse energy production both…
We discuss recently measured event-by-event fluctuations of transverse momentum and of multiplicity in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. It is shown that the non-monotonic behavior of the p_T-fluctuations as a function of collision centrality can be fully explained by the observed non-monotonic multiplicity fluctuations. A possible mechanism responsible for the multiplicity fluctuations is also considered.
Deconfined QCD matter in heavy-ion collisions has been a topic of paramount interest for many years. Quarkonia suppression in heavy-ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments indicate the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) formation in such collisions. Recent experiments at LHC has given some indications of hot matter effect in asymmetric p$-$Pb nuclear collisions. Here, we employ a theoretical model to investigate the bottomonium suppression in Pb$-$Pb at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$, $5.02$ TeV, and in p$-$Pb at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV center-of-m…
One of the main challenges hampering an accurate measurement of the double parton scattering (DPS) cross sections is the difficulty in separating the DPS from the leading twist (LT) contributions. We argue that such a separation can be achieved, and cross section of DPS measured, by exploiting the different centrality dependence of DPS and LT processes in proton-nucleus scattering. We developed a Monte Carlo implementation of the DPS processes which includes realistic nucleon-nucleon (NN) correlations in nuclei, an accurate description of transverse geometry of both hard and soft NN collisions…
We study the influence of a temperature-dependent shear viscosity over entropy density ratio $η/s$, different shear relaxation times $τ_π$, as well as different initial conditions on the transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons and identified particles. We investigate the azimuthal flow asymmetries as a function of both collision energy and centrality. The elliptic flow coefficient turns out to be dominated by the hadronic viscosity at RHIC energies. Only at higher collision energies the impact of the viscosity in the QGP phase is visible in the flow asymmetries. Nevertheless, the shear …
The charged-particle multiplicity distribution and the transverse-energy distribution measured in heavy-ion collisions at top RHIC and LHC energies are described using the two-component model approach based on a convolution of the Monte Carlo Glauber model with the Weibull model for particle production. The model successfully describes the multiplicity and transverse-energy distribution of minimum-bias collision data for a wide range of energies. The Weibull-Glauber model can be used to determine the centrality classes in heavy-ion collisions as an alternative to the conventional negative bino…
First results from RHIC on charged multiplicities, evolution of multiplicities with centrality, particle ratios and transverse momentum distributions in central and minimum bias collisions, are analyzed in a string model which includes hard collisions, collectivity in the initial state considered as string fusion, and rescattering of the produced secondaries. Multiplicities and their evolution with centrality are successfully reproduced. Transverse momentum distributions in the model show a larger $p_T$-tail than experimental data, disagreement which grows with increasing centrality. Discrepan…
We improve the centrality definition in impact parameter in PACIAE model responding the fact reported by the ALICE, ATLAS, and CMS collaborations that the maximum impact parameter in heavy ion collisions should be extended to 20 $fm$. Meanwhile the PACIAE program is updated to a new version of PACIAE 2.2.2 with convenience of studying the elementary nuclear collisions, proton-nucleus collisions, and the nucleus-nucleus collisions in one unified program version. The new impact parameter definition together with the optical Glauber model calculated impact parameter bin, $N_{part}$, and $N_{coll}…
In ultrarelativistic heavy-ion experiments, one estimates the centrality of a collision by using a single observable, say $n$, typically given by the transverse energy or the number of tracks observed in a dedicated detector. The correlation between $n$ and the impact parameter, $b$, of the collision is then inferred by fitting a specific model of the collision dynamics, such as the Glauber model, to experimental data. The goal of this paper is to assess precisely which information about $b$ can be extracted from data without any specific model of the collision. Under the sole assumption that …
We study the production of photons and dileptons during the pre-equilibrium Glasma stage in heavy ion collisions and discuss the implications in light of the PHENIX data. We find that the measured distributions of such electromagnetic emissions, while having some features not well understood if hypothesized to entirely arise from a thermalized Quark-Gluon Plasma, have some qualitative features that might be described after including effects from a thermalizing Glasma. The shape and centrality dependence of the transverse momentum spectra of the so-called "thermal photons" are well described. T…
We calculate the centrality-dependence of transverse momentum ($\pt$) spectra for direct photons in Au+Au collisions at the RHIC energy, based on a realistic data-constrained (3+1) dimensional hydrodynamic description of the expanding hot and dense matter, a reasonable treatment of the propagation of partons and their energy loss in the fluid, and a systematic study of the main sources of direct photons. The resultant $\pt$ spectra agree with recent PHENIX data in a broad $\pt$ range. The competition among the different direct photon sources is investigated at various centralities. Parton ener…
In AA collisions fusion and percolation of colour strings is studied at fixed rapidity $y$. Distribution of strings in rapidity is obtained from the observed rapidity spectra in pp collisions. For $y$-dependence of multiplicities in Au-Au collisions good agreement is obtained with the existing experimental data. Predictions for LHC energies coincide with the extrapolation of the data. Agreement with the data of the transverse momentum spectra requires introduction of quenching into the model.
A detailed study of elliptical and triangular eccentricities in the initial state of relativistic heavy ion collisions is presented. A model of randomly distributed sources of energy density in the transverse plane based on the effective theory of Color Glass Condensate is used. This model describes well the ALICE and ATLAS data for Pb+Pb collisions at center-of-mass energy 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair in a wide range of centralities, if the second $v_2$ and third $v_3$ harmonics of the anisotropic flow are simply implied to be proportional to the eccentricities $\varepsilon_2$ and $\varepsilon_3…
The mechanisms leading to the hadronic final state of high-energy proton-proton collisions remain an unresolved issue at the RHIC and LHC. A substantial contribution to the hadronic final state from minimum-bias (MB) jets is dominated by non-perturbative processes and may provide the common base for any high-energy dijet. Observation of a same-side (on azimuth)"ridge" in LHC p-p collisions suggests to some that hydrodynamic flows may play a role in that small system at higher energies. The issue of p-p centrality vs triggered jets has emerged in the context of gluon transverse distributions in…
We analyzed the transverse momentum spectra of proton, deuteron and triton in Boron-Boron (B-B), Oxygen-Oxygen (O-O), and Calcium-Calcium (Ca-Ca) central collisions, as well as in several centrality bins in Gold-Gold (Au-Au) collisions at 39 GeV by using the blast wave model with Tsallis statistics. The bulk properties in terms of kinetic freeze-out temperature, transverse flow velocity and kinetic freeze-out volume are extracted from the model by the least square method. We observed that with increasing the rest mass of the particle, the kinetic freeze-out temperature becomes larger, while tr…
We propose a new complete method, based on the Wigner distributions of photons, how to calculate differential distributions of dileptons created via photon-photon fusion in semicentral ($b<2R_A$) $AA$ collisions. The formalism is used to calculate different distributions of invariant mass, dilepton transverse momentum and acoplanarity for different regions of centrality. The results of calculation are compared with recent STAR, ALICE and ATLAS experimental data. Very good agreement with the data is achieved without free parameters and without including additional mechanisms such as a possible …
We compute the photon yield and elliptic flow coefficient in relativistic heavy-ion collisions from gluon fusion and splitting processes induced by a magnetic field for different centralities. The calculation accounts for the intense magnetic field and the high gluon occupation number at early times. The photon production induced by these process represents an excess contribution over calculations without magnetic field effects. We compare this excess to the difference between PHENIX data and recent hydrodynamic calculations for the photon transverse momentum distribution and elliptic flow coe…
We investigate the impact of very strong small x gluon fields in colliding nucleons at LHC energies on the interaction of valence quarks. We find that in the range of small impact parameters, which contribute significantly to the production of heavy new particles, several of the valence quarks receive large transverse momenta, exceeding 1 GeV/c. This results in a suppression of leading baryon production and consequently in an additional energy flow to smaller rapidities. We suggest several triggers for centrality in pp collisions which allow one to study the propagation of partons through gluo…
We introduced recently a new theoretical scheme which accounts for hydrodynamically expanding bulk matter, jets, and the interaction between the two. Important for the particle production at intermediate values of transverse momentum (p_t) are jet-hadrons produced inside the fluid. They pick up quarks and antiquarks (or diquarks) from the thermal matter rather than creating them via the Schwinger mechanism -- the usual mechanism of hadron production from string fragmentation. These hadrons carry plasma properties (flavor, flow), but also the large momentum of the transversely moving string seg…
