We provide a combinatorial recipe for constructing all posets of height at most two for which the corresponding type-A Lie poset algebra is contact. In the case that such posets are connected, a discrete Morse theory argument establishes that the posets' simplicial realizations are contractible. It follows from a cohomological result of Coll and Gerstenhaber on Lie semi-direct products that the corresponding contact Lie algebras are absolutely rigid.
We show that the isomorphism class of a two-step solvable Lie poset subalgebra of a semisimple Lie algebra is determined by its dimension. We further establish that all such algebras are absolutely rigid.
The breadth of a Lie algebra $L$ is defined to be the maximal dimension of the image of $ad_x=[x,-]:L\to L$, for $x\in L$. Here, we initiate an investigation into the breadth of three families of Lie algebras defined by posets and provide combinatorial breadth formulas for members of each family.
When $\mathfrak h$ is a toral subalgebra of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ over a field $\mathbf k$, and $M$ a $\mathfrak g$-module on which $\mathfrak h$ also acts torally, the Hochschild-Serre filtration of the Chevalley-Eilenberg cochain complex admits a stronger form than for an arbitrary subalgebra. For a semidirect product $\mathfrak g = \mathfrak h \ltimes \mathfrak k$ with $\mathfrak h$ toral one has $H^*(\mathfrak g, M) \cong \bigwedge\mathfrak h^{\vee} \bigotimes H^*(\mathfrak k,M)^{\mathfrak h} = H^*(\mathfrak h, \mathbf k)\bigotimes H^*(\mathfrak k,M)^{\mathfrak h}$, and for a Lie pos…
We introduce a family of posets which generate Lie poset subalgebras of $A_{n-1}=\mathfrak{sl}(n)$ whose index can be realized topologically. In particular, if $\mathcal{P}$ is such a \textit{toral poset}, then it has a simplicial realization which is homotopic to a wedge sum of $d$ one-spheres, where $d$ is the index of the corresponding type-A Lie poset algebra $\mathfrak{g}_A(\mathcal{P})$. Moreover, when $\mathfrak{g}_A(\mathcal{P})$ is Frobenius, its spectrum is \textit{binary}; that is, consists of an equal number of 0's and 1's. We also find that all Frobenius, type-A Lie poset algebras…
Let $X$ be a finite connected poset and $K$ a field. We study the question, when all Lie automorphisms of the incidence algebra $I(X,K)$ are proper. Without any restriction on the length of $X$ we find only a sufficient condition involving certain equivalence relation on the set of maximal chains of $X$. For some classes of posets of length one, such as finite connected crownless posets (i.e., without weak crown subposets), crowns and ordinal sums of two antichains we give a complete answer.
This paper concerns the algebraic structure of finite-dimensional complex Leibniz algebras. In particular, we introduce left central and symmetric Leibniz algebras, and study the poset of Lie subalgebras using an associative bilinear pairing taking values in the Leibniz kernel.
We investigate the (co)homological properties of two classes of Lie algebras that are constructed from any finite poset: the solvable class $\frak{gl}^\preceq$ and the nilpotent class $\frak{gl}^\prec$. We confirm the conjecture of Jollenbeck that says: every prime power $p^r\!\leq\!n\!-\!2$ appears as torsion in $H_\ast(\frak{nil}_n;\mathbb{Z})$, and every prime power $p^r\!\leq\!n\!-\!1$ appears as torsion in $H_\ast(\frak{sol}_n;\mathbb{Z})$. If $\preceq$ is a bounded poset, then the (co)homology of $\frak{gl}^\preceq$ is \emph{torsion-convex}, i.e. if it contains $p$-torsion, then it also …
Let $X$ be a finite connected poset and $K$ a field. We give a full description of the Lie automorphisms of the incidence algebra $I(X,K)$. In particular, we show that they are in general not proper.
We fully characterize regular Hom-Lie structures on the incidence algebra $I(X,K)$ of a finite connected poset $X$ over a field $K$. We prove that such a structure is the sum of a central-valued linear map annihilating the Jacobson radical of $I(X,K)$ with the composition of certain inner and multiplicative automorphisms of $I(X,K)$.
Let $K$ denote the contact Lie superalgebra $K(m,n;\underline{t})$ over a field of characteristic $p>3$, which has a finite $\mathbb{Z}$-graded structure. Let $T_K$ be the canonical torus of $K$, which is an abelian subalgebra of $K_{0}$ and operates on $K_{-1}$ by semisimple endomorphisms. Utilizing the weight space decomposition of $K$ with respect to $T_K$, %we show the action of the skew-symmetric super-biderivation on the elements of $T$ and the contact of $K$. %Moreover, we prove that each skew-symmetric super-biderivation of $K$ is inner.
This paper considers a family of finite dimensional simple Lie superalgebras of Cartan type over a field of characteristic $p>3$, the so-called special odd contact superalgebras. First, the spanning sets are determined for the Lie superalgebras and their relatives. Second, the spanning sets are used to characterize the simplicity and to compute the dimension formulas. Third, we determine the superderivation algebras and the first cohomology groups. Finally, the dimension formulas and the first cohomology groups are used to make a comparison between the special odd contact superalgebras and the…
In this paper we study some affine structures on nilpotent Lie algebras endowed with a contact form. These affine structures are constructed from an affine structure on a symplectic Lie algebra by a central extension.
Classical contact Lie algebras are the fundamental algebraic structures on the manifolds of contact elements of configuration spaces in classical mechanics. Xu introduced a large category of contact simple Lie algebras which are related to locally finite derivations and are in general not finitely graded. The isomorphism classes of these Lie algebras were determined in a previous paper by Xu and Su. In this paper, the derivation algebras and the 2-cohomology groups of these Lie algebras are determined, and it is obtained that the 2-cohomology groups of these Lie algebras are all trivial.
After recalling the notion of Lie algebroid, we construct these structures associated with contact forms or systems. We are then interested in particular classes of Lie Rinehart algebras.
We study left invariant contact forms and left invariant symplectic forms on Lie groups. We give the classification of all symplectic structures on nilpotent Lie algebras up the dimension 6.
A ($2k+1$)$-$dimensional contact Lie algebra is one which admits a one-form $φ$ such that $φ\wedge (dφ)^k\ne0$. Such algebras have index one, but this is not generally a sufficient condition. Here we show that index-one type-A seaweed algebras are necessarily contact. Examples, together with a method for their explicit construction, are provided.
This text is the English translation of a 1986 manuscript which gives the classification of the differential forms parametrizing the finite-dimensional Lie algebras of hamiltonian and contact Cartan types over fields of positive characteristic. The results of this paper have not been previously published in full.
In this short note, we study the rank of a restricted Lie algebra $(\mathfrak{g},[p])$ and give some applications, which concerns the dimensions of non-trivial irreducible modules. We also compute the rank of the restricted contact algebra $K(n)$.
