We show that the electrocaloric (EC) effect -- e.g., the temperature change experienced by an insulator upon application of an electric bias -- lends itself to a straightforward interpretation when expressed as a Taylor series in the external field. Our formalism explains in a unified and simple way the most notable small-field effects reported the literature -- e.g., the so-called {\em normal} (increase of temperature under bias, as usually found in ferroelectrics) and {\em inverse} (decrease of temperature, as e.g. in antiferroelectrics) EC responses -- and clarifies their physical interpretation. We also discuss in detail second-principles simulations for prototype ferroelectric PbTiO$_{3}$, explicitly evaluating subtle predictions of the theory, such as the occurrence of competing contributions to the EC response.
We study the electrocaloric effect in the classic ferroelectric BaTiO3 through a series of phase transitions driven by applied electric field and temperature. We find both negative and positive electrocaloric effects, with the negative electrocaloric effect, where temperature decreases with applied field, in monoclinic phases. Macroscopic polarization rotation is evident through the monoclinic and orthorhombic phases under applied field, and is responsible for the negative electrocaloric effect.
Over the past decades, there has been significant interest in new cooling technology based on the electrocaloric effect. The large electrocaloric effect observed in polymeric and inorganic ferroelectric materials made possible development of dielectric cooling devices of a new generation. We report a significant impact of annealing on the electrocaloric effect observed in 12/65/35 PLZT bulk ceramics. The electrocaloric data were obtained by direct measurements. Electrocaloric results confirm the existence of the significant electrocaloric response in this relaxor ferroelectric PLZT composition…
Molecular dynamics simulations predict a giant electrocaloric effect at the ferroelectric-antiferroelectric phase boundary in PZT (PbTiO$_3$-PbZrO$_3$). These large-scale simulations also give insights into the atomistic mechanisms of the electrocaloric effect in PZT materials. Studying a range of ferroelectric (FE) and antiferroelectric (AFE) PZT materials we found positive electrocaloric effect in FE composites, but AFE ones exhibit a positive-to-negative crossover. At the AFE-FE phase boundary we find complex domain patterns. We demonstrate that the origin of giant electrocaloric change of …
We have studied the electrocaloric response of the archetypal antiferroelectric PbZrO3 as a function of voltage and temperature in the vicinity of its antiferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition. Large electrocaloric effects of opposite signs, ranging from an electro-cooling of -3.5 K to an electro-heating of +5.5 K, were directly measured with an infrared camera. We show by calorimetric and electromechanical measurements that the large negative electrocaloric effect comes from an endothermic antiferroelectric-ferroelectric switching, in contrast to dipole destabilization of the antiparall…
Refrigeration systems based on compression of greenhouse gases are environmentally threatening and cannot be scaled down to on-chip dimensions. In the vicinity of a phase transition caloric materials present large thermal responses to external fields, which makes them promising for developing alternative solid-state cooling devices. Electrocaloric effects are particularly well-suited for portable refrigeration applications; however, most electrocaloric materials operate best at non-ambient temperatures or require the application of large electric fields. Here, we predict that modest electric f…
An applied electric field can reversibly change the temperature of an electrocaloric material under adiabatic conditions, and the effect is strongest near phase transitions. This phenomenon has been largely ignored because only small effects (0.003 K V^-1) have been seen in bulk samples such as Pb0.99Nb0.02(Zr0.75Sn0.20Ti0.05)0.98O3 and there is no consensus on macroscopic models. Here we demonstrate a giant electrocaloric effect (0.48 K V^-1) in 300 nm sol-gel PbZr0.95Ti0.05O3 films near the ferroelectric Curie temperature of 222oC. We also discuss a solid state device concept for electrical …
The proton ordering model for the KH$_{2}$PO$_{4}$ type ferroelectrics is modified by taking into account non-linear effects, namely, the dependence of the effective dipole moments on the proton ordering parameter. Within the four-particle cluster approximation we calculate the crystal polarization, longitudinal dielectric permittivity, specific heat, and explore the electrocaloric effect. Smearing of the ferroelectric phase transition by the longitudinal electric field is described. A good agreement with experiment is obtained.
In this study, we report on a direct measurement method for the electrocaloric effect, the heating/cooling upon application/removal of an electric field in dielectric materials, based on a lock-in thermography technique. By use of sinusoidal excitation and multi-harmonic detection, the actual temperature change can be measured by a single measurement in the frequency domain even when the electrocaloric effect shows nonlinear response to the excitation field. We have demonstrated the method by measuring the temperature dependence of the electric-field-induced temperature change for two Sr-doped…
We have recently observed a giant electrocaloric effect (12 K in 25 V) in 350 nm sol-gel Pb Zr_0.95 Ti_0.05 O_3 films near the ferroelectric Curie temperature of 242oC. Here we demonstrate a giant electrocaloric effect (5 K in 25 V) in 260 nm sol-gel films of the relaxor ferroelectric 0.9 PbMg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3)O_3 - 0.1 PbTiO_3 near the Curie temperature of 60oC. This reduction in operating temperature widens the potential for applications in novel cooling systems.
The electrocaloric effect of BaTiO3 multilayer thick film structure was investigated by direct measurement and theoretical calculation. The samples were prepared by the tape-casting method, which had 180 dielectric layers with an average thickness of 1.4μm. The thermodynamic calculation based on the polarization- temperature curves predicted a peak heat adsorption of 0.32J/g at 80^\circC under 176kV/cm electric field. The direct measurement via differential scanning calorimeter showed a much higher electrocaloric effect of 0.91J/g at 80^\circC under same electric field. The difference could re…
Giant electrocaloric (EC) effect is observed in BaTiO3 multilayer thick film structure. The temperature change is as high as 4.0 oC under an applied electric field of 352 kV/cm. Most importantly, the EC effect is found to depend on the varying rate of the applied field. Based on the giant net cooling (~0.37 J/g) resulting from the difference in the varying rates of rising and falling fields, the kinetic EC effect provides an effective solution for the design of refrigeration cycle in ferroelectric micro-refrigerator.
Physical nature of "giant" magnetocaloric and electrocaloric effects, MCE and ECE, is explained in terms of the new fundamentals of phase transitions, ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity. It is the latent heat of structural (nucleation-and-growth) phase transitions from a normal crystal state to the orientation-disordered crystal (ODC) state where the constituent particles are engaged in thermal rotation. The ferromagnetism or ferroelectricity of the material provides the capability to trigger the structural phase transition by application, accordingly, of magnetic or electric field.
The present letter explores the electrocaloric effect (ECE) in the lead free oxide Ba0.8Ca0.2Ti0.95Ge0.05O3 ceramics (BCTG). The electrocaloric responsivity (dT/dE) was determined by two different methods using the Maxwell relationship (dT/dE)~(dP/dT)_E. In a first well-known indirect method, P-E hysteresis loops were measured in a wide temperature range from which the pyroelectric coefficient p_E=(dP/dT)_E and thus (dT/dE) were determined by derivation of P(T,E) data. In the second novel method the pyroelectric coefficient p_E and consequently the electrocaloric responsivity was determined by…
We address the question of how the electrocaloric effect in epitaxial thin films of the prototypical ferroelectric BaTiO$_3$ is affected by the clamping to the substrate and by substrate-induced misfit strain. We use molecular dynamics simulations and a first-principles-based effective Hamiltonian to calculate the adiabatic temperature change $ΔT$ under different epitaxial constraints. Our results demonstrate that, consistent with phenomenological theory, clamping by the substrate reduces the maximum $ΔT$ compared to bulk BaTiO$_3$. On the other hand, compressive misfit-strain leads to a stron…
The perovskite crystal BaTiO3 is modeled using a first-principles based effective Hamiltonian and molecular dynamics simulations are performed to estimate the pyroelectric response. The electrocaloric temperature change, \DeltaT, is calculated for different temperatures and externally applied electric fields. It is found that it is possible to achieve a large \DeltaT, around 5-6 K, for a relatively small electric field gradient, less than 100 kV/cm, if the applied fields have a small absolute magnitude.
The proton ordering model for the KH$_{2}$PO$_{4}$ type ferroelectrics is modified by taking into account the dependence of the effective dipole moments on the proton ordering parameter. Within the four-particle cluster approximation we calculate the crystal polarization and explore the electrocaloric effect. Smearing of the ferroelectric phase transition by a longitudinal electric field is described. A good agreement with experiment is obtained.
Ferroelectric perovskite oxides possess a large electrocaloric (EC) effect, but usually at high temperatures near the ferroelectric/paraelectric phase transition temperature, which limits their potential application as next-generation solid-state cooling devices. We use classical molecular dynamics to study the electric field induced phase transitions and EC effect in PMN-PT (PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3-PbTiO3). We find that the maximum EC strength of PMN-PT occurs within the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) region at 300 K. The large adiabatic temperature change is caused by easy rotation of polarization…
We use molecular dynamics simulations for a first principles-based effective Hamiltonian to calculate two important quantities characterizing the electrocaloric effect in BaTiO$_3$, the adiabatic temperature change $ΔT$ and the isothermal entropy change $ΔS$, for different electric field strengths. We compare direct and indirect methods to obtain $ΔT$ and $ΔS$, and we confirm that both methods indeed lead to identical result provided that the system does not actually undergo a first order phase transition. We also show that a large electrocaloric response is obtained for electric fields beyond…
We study the impact of thermal hysteresis at the first-order structural/ferroelectric phase transitions on the electrocaloric response in bulk BaTiO$_3$ by performing molecular dynamics simulations for a first-principles-based effective Hamiltonian. We demonstrate that the electrocaloric response can conceptually be separated in two contributions: a transitional part, stemming from the discontinuous jump in entropy at the first order phase transition, and a configurational part, due to the continuous change of polarization and entropy within each phase. This latter part increases with the stre…
Structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, energy storage properties, and electrocaloric effect were studied in lead-free ceramic Ba$_{0.95}$Ca$_{0.05}$Ti$_{0.89}$Sn$_{0.11}$O$_3$ (BCTSn) elaborated by sol-gel method. Phase purity structure was confirmed from X-ray data using Rietveld refinement analysis which revealed the coexistence of tetragonal (P4mm) and orthorhombic (Amm2) symmetries at room temperature. Phase transitions were detected by dielectric and differential scanning calorimetry results. Energy storage properties were determined from P-E hysteresis, and the electrocaloric properties …
We use molecular dynamics with a first-principles-based shell model potential to study the electrocaloric effect (ECE) in lithium niobate, LiNbO$_3$, and find a giant electrocaloric effect along a line passing through the ferroelectric transition. With applied electric field, a line of maximum ECE passes through the zero field ferroelectric transition, continuing along a Widom line at high temperatures with increasing field, and along the instability that leads to homogeneous ferroelectric switching below $T_c$ with an applied field antiparallel to the spontaneous polarization. This line is de…
To investigate the caloric effects in the CsH$_2$PO$_4$ ferroelectric, a modified pseudospin model of this crystal is used, which takes into account the dependence of the parameters of interaction between pseudospins on lattice strains. The model also takes into account the dependence of the effective dipole moment of a pseudospin on the order parameter. In the two-particle cluster approximation, the influence of the longitudinal electric field and hydrostatic pressure on the molar entropy of the crystal was studied. The electrocaloric and barocaloric effects were studied. The calculated elect…
The electrocaloric (EC) effect is calculated for Gd-substituted PMN (x = 0 to 0.1) relaxors from temperature dependent heat capacity and polarization measurements, using a thermodynamic Maxwell equation. Polarization change with temperature reveals an anomalous behaviour around the glass transition temperature, which is in the vicinity of a crossover from positive to negative EC effect, which is explained evoking the critical slowing-down of the polar nano-domains dynamics to super-dipolar glass state upon cooling. The maximum negative EC coefficient is observed to decrease from 0.4 K-mm/kV at…
We analyse the effects of applying an electric field on the critical temperature, Ts, at which superionicity appears in archetypal fast ion conductor CaF2 by means of molecular dynamics simulations. We find that the onset of superionicity can be reduced by about 100K when relatively small electric fields of ~50KV/cm are employed. Under large enough electric fields, however, ionic conductivity is depleted. The normal to superionic phase transition is characterised by a large increase of entropy, thereby sizeable electrocaloric effects can be realised in fast ion conductors that are promising fo…
Anomalous electrocaloric effect (ECE) with decreasing temperature upon application of an electric field is known to occur in antiferroelectrics (AFEs), and previous understanding refers to the field-induced canting of electric dipoles if there is no phase transitions. Here, we use a first-principle-based method to study the ECE in Nd-substituted BiFeO3 (BNFO) perovskite solid solutions, which has the Pnma-type AFE ground state. We demonstrate another scenario to achieve and explain anomalous ECE, emphasizing that explicit consideration of octahedral tiltings is indispensable for a correct unde…
An atomistic effective Hamiltonian is used to compute electrocaloric (EC) effects in rare-earth substituted BiFeO$_{3}$ multiferroics. A phenomenological model is then developed to interpret these computations, with this model indicating that the EC coefficient is the sum of two terms, that involve electric quantities (polarization, dielectric response), the antiferromagnetic order parameter, and the coupling between polarization and antiferromagnetic order. The first one depends on the polarization and dielectric susceptibility, has the analytical form previously demonstrated for ferroelectri…
Lead-free BaTi0.89Sn0.11O3 (BTSn) ceramic was elaborated via a solid-state reaction method and its dielectric, ferroelectric, energy storage, electromechanical as well as electrocaloric properties were investigated at 25 kV/cm. Pure perovskite structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The maximum of the dielectric constant was found to be 17390 at 41 °C. The enhanced total energy density, the recovered energy density, and the energy storage efficiency of 92.7 mJ/cm3, 84.4 mJ/cm3, and 91.04%, respectively, were observed at 60 °C, whereas the highest storage efficiency of 95.87 % wa…
The existence and feasibility of the multicaloric, polycrystalline material 0.8Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3-0.2Pb(Mg1/2W1/2)O3, exhibiting magnetocaloric and electrocaloric properties, are demonstrated. Both the electrocaloric and magnetocaloric effects are observed over a broad temperature range below room temperature. The maximum magnetocaloric temperature change of ~0.26 K is obtained with a magnetic-field amplitude of 70 kOe at a temperature of 5 K, while the maximum electrocaloric temperature change of ~0.25 K is obtained with an electric-field amplitude of 60 kV/cm at a temperature of 180 K. The mat…
The electrocaloric effect (ECE) in BaTiO3 is simulated using two different first-principles based effective Hamiltonian molecular dynamics methods. The calculations are performed for a wide range of temperatures (30--900 K) and external electric fields (0--500 kV/cm). As expected, a large adiabatic temperature change, Delta-T, at the Curie temperature, T_C, is observed. It is found that for single crystals of pure BaTiO3, the temperature range where a large Delta-T is observed is narrow for small external electric fields (<50 kV/cm). Large fields (>100 kV/cm) may be required to broaden the eff…
The large electrocaloric coupling in PbZrO3 allows using high-speed infrared imaging to visualize antiferroelectric switching dynamics via the associated temperature change. We find that in ceramic samples of homogeneous temperature and thickness, switching is nucleation-limited and fast, with devices responding in the milisecond range. By introducing gradients of thickness, however, it is possible to change the dynamics from nucleation-limited to propagation-limited, whereby a single phase boundary sweeps across the sample like a cold front, at a speed of c.a. 20 cm/s. Additionally, introduci…
Electrically driven thermal changes in PbSc0.5Ta0.5O3 bulk ceramics are investigated using temperature and electric-field dependent differential scanning calorimetry and infrared thermometry. On first application and removal of electric field, we find asymmetries in the magnitude of isothermal entropy change $Δ$ S and adiabatic temperature change $Δ$ T, due to hysteresis. On subsequent field cycling, we find further asymmetries in the magnitude of $Δ$ T due to non-linearity in the isofield legs of entropy-temperature plots.
Atomistic effective Hamiltonian simulations are used to investigate electrocaloric (EC) effects in the lead-free Ba(Zr$_{0.5}$Ti$_{0.5}$)O$_{3}$ (BZT) relaxor ferroelectric. We find that the EC coefficient varies non-monotonically with the field at any temperature, presenting a maximum that can be traced back to the behavior of BZT's polar nanoregions. We also introduce a simple Landau-based model that reproduces the EC behavior of BZT as a function of field and temperature, and which is directly applicable to other compounds. Finally, we confirm that, for low temperatures (i.e., in non-ergodi…
Lead-free Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.10Ti0.90O3 (BCZT) ceramic exhibits excellent dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties at the Morphotropic Phase Boundary (MPB). Previously, we demonstrated that the use of the anionic surfactant Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS, NaC12H25SO4) could enhance the dielectric properties of BCZT ceramic using surfactant-assisted solvothermal processing [1]. In the present study, structural, dielectric, ferroelectric properties, as well as electrocaloric effect and energy storage performances of this BCZT ceramic were thoroughly investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) …
In acceptor doped ferroelectrics and in ferroelectric films and nanocomposites, defect dipoles, strain gradients, and the electric boundary conditions at interfaces and surfaces often impose internal bias fields. In this work we delicately study the impact of internal bias fields on the electrocaloric effect (ECE), utilizing an analytical model and \emph{ab initio}-based molecular dynamics simulations. We reveal the complex dependency of the ECE on field protocol and relative strength of internal and external fields. The internal fields may even reverse the sign of the response (inverse or neg…
Ferroelectrics are attractive candidate materials for environmentally friendly solid state refrigeration free of greenhouse gases. Their thermal response upon variations of external electric fields is largest in the vicinity of their phase transitions, which may occur near room temperature. The magnitude of the effect, however, is too small for useful cooling applications even when they are driven close to dielectric breakdown. Insight from microscopic theory is therefore needed to characterize materials and provide guiding principles to search for new ones with enhanced electrocaloric perform…
Using the previously developed model we study the electrocaloric effect (ECE) in antiferroelectric crystals of squaric acid. At low temperatures, the polarization reorientation by the electric field applied along the crystallographic $a$ axis of these crystals is predicted to be a two-stage process, with one of the sublattice polarizations switched twice, by 90$^\circ$ each time. The $T$-$E$ landscapes of the model polarization and entropy are explored. The ECE, characterized by the introduced electric Grüneisen parameter, is found to be negative in the antiferroelectric phase. In the intermed…
We present a field theory approach to study changes in local temperature due to an applied electric field (the electrocaloric effect) in electrolyte solutions. Steric effects and a field-dependent dielectric function are found to be of paramount importance for accurate estimations of the electrocaloric effect. Interestingly, electrolyte solutions are found to exhibit negative electrocaloric effects. Overall, our results point toward using fluids near room temperature with low heat capacity and high salt concentration for enhanced electrocalorics.
Recent findings of a large electrocaloric (EC) effect in polymeric and inorganic ferroelectric materials open a potential possibility of development of solid-state cooling or heating devices of new generation with better energy efficiency that may be less harmful for the environment. We investigate by using direct measurements, the temperature and electric field dependence of the electrocaloric response in Pb1-xLax(ZryTi1-y)1-x/4O3 bulk ceramics (PLZT) with x=0.06 and 0.12. Here, the properties of the EC response were probed in a part of the PLZT composition phase diagram with low y=0.40 compo…
The electrocaloric (EC) effect and energy storage properties of eco-friendly ferroelectric Ba0.9Sr0.1Ti1-xSnxO3 (BSTS-x) ceramics prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method were studied. Significant energy efficiency exceeding 80% was found in our samples. In particular, BSTS-5 and BSTS-10 samples exhibit 92% and 88% efficiency, respectively, over a wide temperature range around room temperature (RT). Direct EC measurement and an indirect method based on the thermodynamic approach were used to characterize the EC effect, and both yielded consistent results. The largest electrocal…
We report modifications of the ferroelectric and electrocaloric properties of BaTiO$_3$ by defects. For this purpose, we have combined \textit{ab initio}-based molecular dynamics simulations with a simple model for defects. We find that different kinds of defects modify the ferroelectric transition temperatures and polarization, reduce the thermal hysteresis of the transition and are no obstacle for a large caloric response. For a locally reduced polarization the ferroelectric transition temperature and the adiabatic response are slightly reduced. For polar defects an intriguing picture emerge…
Using Landau-Ginzburg-Devonshire theory and effective medium approximation, we analytically calculate typical dependences of the pyroelectric and electrocaloric coefficients on external electric field, temperature and radius for spherical single-domain ferroelectric nanoparticles. The considered physical model corresponds to the nanocomposite with small fraction of ferroelectric nanoparticles. Within the framework of the analytical model we establish how the size changes determine the temperature and field behavior pyroelectric and electrocaloric coefficients on example of BaTiO3 nanoparticles…
We report the discovery of serendipitous electrocaloric effects in commercial multilayer capacitors based on ferroelectric BaTiO3. Direct thermometry records ~0.5 K changes due to 300 kV cm-1, over a wide range of temperatures near and above room temperature. Similar results are obtained indirectly, via thermodynamic analysis of ferroelectric hysteresis loops. We compare and contrast these two results. Optimised electrocaloric multilayer capacitors could find applications in future cooling technologies.
Due to critical environmental and technological issues, there is a pressing need to switch from current refrigeration methods based on compression of gases to novel solid-state cooling technologies. Solid-state cooling is based on the thermal response of materials to external magnetic, electric, or mechanic fields, the so-called caloric effect. The electrocaloric (EC) effect, which is caused by electric fields and typically occurs in polar materials, is particularly promising from a technological point of view owing to its good scalability and natural implementation in circuitry. Simulation of…
An atomistic effective Hamiltonian is used to investigate electrocaloric (EC) effects of Pb(Mg$_{1/3}$Nb$_{2/3}$)O$_{3}$ (PMN) relaxor ferroelectrics in its ergodic regime, and subject to electric fields applied along the pseudocubic [111] direction. Such Hamiltonian qualitatively reproduces (i) the electric field-versus-temperature phase diagram, including the existence of a critical point where first-order and second-order transitions meet each other; and (ii) a giant EC response near such critical point. It also reveals that such giant response around this critical point is microscopically …
We study the electrocaloric (EC) effect in bulk BaTiO$_3$ (BTO) using molecular dynamics simulations of a first principles-based effective Hamiltonian, combined with direct measurements of the adiabatic EC temperature change in BTO single crystals. We examine in particular the dependence of the EC effect on the direction of the applied electric field at all three ferroelectric transitions, and we show that the EC response is strongly anisotropic. Most strikingly, an inverse caloric effect, i.e., a temperature increase under field removal, can be observed at both ferroelectric-ferroelectric tra…
There is a surge of interest in developing environmentally friendly cooling technology based on the solid--state electrocaloric effect (ECE). Here, we point out that negative ECE with a fast cooling rate ($\approx$10$^{11}$ K/s) can be achieved by driving solid crystals to a high--temperature phase with a properly designed electric field pulse. Specifically, we predict that an ultrafast electric field pulse can cause a negative ECE up to 35 K in PbTiO$_3$ occurring on few picosecond time scales. We acquire and analyze these results by clarifying the mechanism of ECE during an adiabatic irrever…
Ferroelectric ceramics (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Ti0.9Zr0.1-xSnx)O3 (x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06) were prepared by a sol-gel method. Structural investigation revealed the co-existence of tetragonal (P4mm) and orthorhombic (Pmm2) symmetries at room temperature for the undoped ceramic, while only a tetragonal structure (P4mm) was observed for the doped ceramics. Dielectric measurements indicate a dielectric relaxation process at high temperatures which is essentially related to the hopping of oxygen vacancies. Furthermore, a down shifting of the Curie temperature (TC) with increasing Sn4+ doping rate has been…
An improved thermodynamic cycle is proposed, where the cooling effect of an electrocaloric refrigerant is enhanced by applying a reversed electric field. In contrast to conventional adiabatic heating or cooling by on-off cycles of the external electric field, applying a reversed field is significantly improving the cooling efficiency, since the variation in configurational entropy is increased. By comparing results from computer simulations using Monte-Carlo algorithms and experiments using direct electrocaloric measurements, we show that the electrocaloric cooling efficiency can be enhanced b…
The Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 (BCZT) ceramics were successfully prepared by sol-gel process, and sintered at 1420 degree. The effect of sintering times (2, 4 and 6 h) on structural, microstructural, electric properties, energy storage, and electrocaloric effect was systematically examined. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results show that all the samples crystallize in the pure perovskite structure. The morphotropic phase transition from the tetragonal to the orthorhombic phase (T-O) was identified and confirmed by Rietveld refinement. The BCZT ceramic sintered at 1420 degree for 4h possesses a good re…
