In this paper, we study Markov dynamics on unitary duals of compact quantum groups. We construct such dynamics from characters of quantum groups. Then we show that the dynamics have generators, and we give an explicit formula of the generators using the representation theory. Moreover, we construct Markov dynamics on the unitary dual of an inductive limit of compact quantum groups.
Based on coupling in two steps and the regularization approximations of the underlying subordinators, we establish log-Harnack inequalities for Markov semigroups generated by a class of non-local Gruschin type operators. Some concrete examples are also presented.

The aim of this note is to show, by providing an elementary way to construct counter-examples, that the strong Feller and the joint (space-time) continuity for a semigroup of Markov kernels on a Polish space are not enough to ensure the existence of an associated càdlàg Markov process on the same space. Invariance properties of linear functionals and linear maps on algebras of functions on quantum homogeneous spaces are studied, in particular for the special case of expected coideal *-subalgebras. This paper builds upon several recent works, where semigroup proofs of Brascamp-Lieb inequalities are provided in various settings (Euclidean space, spheres and symmetric groups). Our aim is twofold. Firstly, we provide a general, unifying, framework based on Markov generators, in order to cover a variety of examples of interest going beyond previous investigations. Secondly, we put forward the combinatorial reasons for which unexpected exponents occur in these inequalities.

We study the regularity of a Markov semigroup $(P_t)_{t>0}$, that is, when $P_t(x,dy)=p_t(x,y)dy$ for a suitable smooth function $p_t(x,y)$. This is done by transferring the regularity from an approximating Markov semigroup sequence $(P^n_t)_{t>0}$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$, whose associated densities $p^n_t(x,y)$ are smooth and can blow up as $n\to\infty$. We use an interpolation type result and we show that if there exists a good equilibrium between the blow up and the speed of convergence, then $P_{t}(x,dy)=p_{t}(x,y)dy$ and $p_{t}$ has some regularity properties.

We provide a abstract framework to prove total variation convergence result with arbitrary rate for numerical scheme for SDE. In particular we show that under standard weak approximation properties of scheme such as Euler we can obtain total variation convergence with any desired rate by building a specific approximation for the SDE.
Generators of Markov processes on a countable state space can be represented as finite or infinite matrices. One key property is that the off-diagonal entries corresponding to jump rates of the Markov process are non-negative. Here we present stochastic characterizations of the semigroup generated by a generator with possibly negative rates. This is done by considering a larger state space with one or more particles and antiparticles, with antiparticles being particles carrying a negative sign.
We investigate in a systematic way hypercontractivity property in Orlicz spaces for Markov semi-groups related to homogeneous and non homogeneous diffusions in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$. We provide an explicit construction of a family of Orlicz functions for which we prove that the associated hypercontractivity property is equivalent to a suitable functional inequality.
T. Szarek [Stud. This article settles the convergence question for multivariate barycentric subdivision schemes with nonnegative masks on complete metric spaces of nonpositive Alexandrov curvature, also known as Hadamard spaces. We establish a link between these types of refinement algorithms and the theory of Markov chains by characterizing barycentric subdivision schemes as nonlinear Markov semigroups. Exploiting this connection, we subsequently prove that any such scheme converges on arbitrary Hadamard spaces if and only if it converges for real valued input data. We analyse analytic properties of nonlocal transition semigroups associated with a class of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) in $\mathbb{R}^d$ driven by pure jump--type Lévy processes. First, we will show under which conditions the semigroup will be analytic on the Besov space $B_{p,q}^ m(\mathbb{R}^d)$ with $1\le p, q<\infty$ and $m\in\mathbb{R}$. Secondly, we present some applications by proving the strong Feller property and give weak error estimates for approximating schemes of the SDEs over the Besov space $B_{\infty,\infty}^ m(\mathbb{R}^d)$.
Strongly continuous semigroups of unital completely positive maps (i.e. quantum Markov semigroups or quantum dynamical semigroups) on compact quantum groups are studied. It is well known that Nash-type inequalities for symmetric Dirichlet forms are equivalent to on-diagonal heat kernel upper bounds for the associated symmetric Markov semigroups. In this paper, we show that both imply (and hence are equivalent to) off-diagonal heat kernel upper bounds under some mild assumptions. Our approach is based on a new generalized Davies' method. Our results extend that of \cite{CKS} for Nash-type inequalities with power order considerably and also extend that of \cite{Gri} for second order differential operators on a complete non-compact manifold.

In this paper, we start by showing that the intertwining relationship between two minimal Markov semigroups acting on Hilbert spaces implies that any recurrent extensions, in the sense of Itô, of these semigroups satisfy the same intertwining identity. Under mild additional assumptions on the intertwining operator, we prove that the converse also holds. For an arbitrary Hilbert space-valued Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process we construct the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Bridge connecting a starting point $x$ and an endpoint $y$ that belongs to a certain linear subspace of full measure. Our aim is to unify and extend the large deviation upper and lower bounds for the occupation times of a Markov process with $L_2$ semigroups under minimal conditions on the state space and the process trajectories; for example, no strong Markov property is needed. The methods used here apply in both continuous and discrete time. We present the proofs for continuous time only because of the inherent technical difficulties in that situation; the proofs can be adapted for discrete time in a straightforward manner.
In a companion paper, the authors have characterized all deterministic semigroups, and all Markov semigroups, whose trajectories are Carathe'odory solutions to a given ODE x'=f(x), with f possibly discontinuous. The present paper establishes two approximation results. We give a new, two-step approach to prove existence of finite invariant measures for a given Markovian semigroup. First, we identify a convenient auxiliary measure and then we prove conditions equivalent to the existence of an invariant finite measure which is absolutely continuous with respect to it. We analyze random walks on a class of semigroups called ``left-regular bands''. These walks include the hyperplane chamber walks of Bidigare, Hanlon, and Rockmore. Using methods of ring theory, we show that the transition matrices are diagonalizable and we calculate the eigenvalues and multiplicities. The methods lead to explicit formulas for the projections onto the eigenspaces. As examples of these semigroup walks, we construct a random walk on the maximal chains of any distributive lattice, as well as two random walks associated with any matroid.
