Let $G$ be a $p$-adic reductive group and $\mathfrak{g}$ its Lie algebra. We construct a functor from the extension closure of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category $\mathcal{O}$ associated to $\mathfrak{g}$ into the category of locally analytic representations of $G$, thereby expanding on an earlier construction of Orlik-Strauch. A key role in this new construction is played by $p$-adic logarithms on tori. This functor is shown to be exact with image in the subcategory of admissible representations in the sense of Schneider and Teitelbaum. En route, we establish some basic results in the theory of modules over distribution algebras and related subalgebras, such as a tensor-hom adjunction formula. We also relate our constructions to certain representations constructed by Breuil and Schraen in the context of the $p$-adic Langlands program.
Let $G$ be a $p$-adic Lie group with reductive Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. In analogy to the translation functors introduced by Bernstein and Gelfand on categories of $U(\mathfrak{g})$-modules we consider similarly defined functors on the category of coadmissible modules over the locally analytic distribution algebra $D(G)$ on which the center of $U(\mathfrak{g})$ acts locally finite. These functors induce equivalences between certain subcategories of the latter category. Furthermore, these translation functors are naturally related to those on category $\mathcal{O}$ via the functors from cate…
For a split reductive group $G$ over a finite extension $L$ of ${\mathbb Q}_p$, and a parabolic subgroup $P \subset G$ we introduce a category ${\mathcal O}^P$ which is equipped with a forgetful functor to the parabolic category ${\mathcal O}^{\mathfrak p}$ of Bernstein, Gelfand and Gelfand. There is a canonical fully faithful embedding of a subcategory ${\mathcal O}^{\mathfrak p}_{\rm alg}$ of ${\mathcal O}^{\mathfrak p}$ into ${\mathcal O}^P$, which 'splits' the forgetful map. We then introduce functors from the category ${\mathcal O}^P$ to the category of locally analytic representations, t…
Given a skeletally small category $\mathcal{C}$, we show that any locally finite endo-length $\mathcal{C}$-module is the direct sum of indecomposable $\mathcal{C}$-modules, whose endomorphism algebra is local.
Let L be a finite extension of Qp, and let K be a spherically complete non-archimedean extension field of L. In this paper we introduce a restricted category of continuous representations of locally L-analytic groups G in locally convex K-vector spaces. We call the objects of this category "admissible" representations and we establish some of their basic properties. Most importantly we show that (at least when G is compact) the category of admissible representations in our sense can be algebraized; it is faithfully full (anti)-embedded into the category of modules over the locally analytic dis…
We construct a new analogue of the BGG category $\mathcal O$ for the infinite-dimensional Lie algebras $\fg=\mathfrak{sl}(\infty),\mathfrak{o}(\infty), \mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$. A main difference with the categories studied in \cite{Nam} and \cite{CP} is that all objects of our category satisfy the large annihilator condition introduced in \cite{DPS}. Despite the fact that the splitting Borel subalgebras $\fb$ of $\fg$ are not conjugate, one can eliminate the dependency on the choice of $\fb$ and introduce a universal highest weight category $\mathcal {OLA}$ of $\fg$-modules, the letters $\mathc…
We study the canonical orbit category of the bounded derived category of finite dimensional representations of the quiver of type $D_{\infty}$. We prove that this orbit category is a cluster category, that is, its cluster-tilting subcategories form a cluster structure as defined in [\ref{BIRS}].
Let D be the cluster category of Dynkin type A_{\infty}. This paper provides a bijection between torsion theories in D and certain configurations of arcs connecting non-neighbouring integers.
We describe all locally semisimple subalgebras and all maximal subalgebras of the finitary Lie algebras $\gl(\infty), \sl(\infty), \so(\infty)$, and $\sp(\infty)$. For simple finite--dimensional Lie algebras these classes of subalgebras have been described in the classical works of A. Malcev and E. Dynkin. Key words (2000 MSC): 17B05 and 17B65.
We construct a left adjoint $\mathcal{H}^\text{st}\colon \mathbf{Ex}_{\infty} \rightarrow \mathbf{St}_{\infty}$ to the inclusion $\mathbf{St}_{\infty} \hookrightarrow \mathbf{Ex}_{\infty}$ of the $\infty$-category of stable $\infty$-categories into the $\infty$-category of exact $\infty$-categories, which we call the stable hull. For every exact $\infty$-category $\mathcal{E}$, the unit functor $\mathcal{E} \rightarrow \mathcal{H}^\text{st}(\mathcal{E})$ is fully faithful and preserves and reflects exact sequences. This provides an $\infty$-categorical variant of the Gabriel-Quillen embedding …
We first study the (canonical) orbit category of the bounded derived category of finite dimensional representations of a quiver with no infinite path, and we pay more attention on the case where the quiver is of infinite Dynkin type. In particular, its Auslander-Reiten components are explicitly described. When the quiver is of type $\mathbb{A}_\infty$ or $\mathbb{A}_\infty^\infty$, we show that this orbit category is a cluster category, that is, its cluster-tilting subcategories form a cluster structure. When the quiver is of type $\mathbb{A}_\infty^\infty$, we shall give a geometrical descrip…
We show that the stable module $\infty$-category of a finite group $G$ decomposes in three different ways as a limit of the stable module $\infty$-categories of certain subgroups of $G$. Analogously to Dwyer's terminology for homology decompositions, we call these the centraliser, normaliser, and subgroup decompositions. We construct centraliser and normaliser decompositions and extend the subgroup decomposition (constructed by Mathew) to more collections of subgroups. The key step in the proof is extending the stable module $\infty$-category to be defined for any $G$-space, then showing that …
We introduce and study the category of twisted modules over a triangular differential graded bocs. We show that in this category idempotents split, that it admits a natural structure of a Frobenius category, that a twisted module is homotopically trivial if and only if its underlying complex is acyclic, and that any homotopy equivalence of differential graded bocses determines an equivalence of the corresponding homotopy categories of twisted modules. The category of modules over an $A_{\infty}$-algebra is equivalent to the category of twisted modules over a triangular differential graded bocs…
We prove that a family of at least two non-trivial, almost-connected locally compact groups cannot have a coproduct in the category of locally compact groups if at least one of the groups is connected; this confirms the intuition that coproducts in said category are rather hard to come by, save for the usual ones in the category of discrete groups. Along the way we also prove a number of auxiliary results on characteristic indices of locally compact or Lie groups as defined by Iwasawa: that characteristic indices can only decrease when passing to semisimple closed Lie subgroups, and also along…
We introduce a symmetric monoidal category of modules over the direct limit queer superalgebra $\q (\infty)$. The category can be defined in two equivalent ways with the aid of the large annihilator condition. Tensor products of copies of the natural and the conatural representations are injective objects in this category. We obtain the socle filtrations and formulas for the tensor products of the indecoposable injectives. In addition, it is proven that the category is Koszul self-dual.
In this paper authors consider representations of graphs in Hilbert spaces applying a restriction of local scalarity on them. It enables to obtain a theory, similar to the classical theory of representations of graphs in vector spaces. In particular, it is obtained a theorem analogous to the well-known Gabriel theorem: a connected finite graph (wood) is finitely representable in the category of Hilbert spaces if and only if it is a Dynkin graph.
We investigate several categories of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules. In particular, we prove that the category of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces is semisimple. The most interesting category we study is the category $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of tensor modules. Its objects $M$ are defined as integrable modules of finite Loewy length such that the algebraic dual $M^*$ is also integrable and of finite Loewy length. We prove that the simple objects of $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathf…
We introduce and study new categories T(g,k)of integrable sl(\infty)-modules which depend on the choice of a certain reductive subalgebra k in g=sl(\infty). The simple objects of these categories are tensor modules as in the previously studied category, however, the choice of k provides more flexibility of nonsimple modules. We then choose k to have two infinite-dimensional diagonal blocks, and show that a certain injective object K(m|n) in T(g,k) realizes a categorical sl(\infty)-action on the integral category O(m|n) of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). We show that the socle of K(m|n) is genera…
We study the structure of tensor representations of the classical infinite-dimensional locally finite Lie algebras $gl_\infty$, $sl_\infty$, $sp_\infty$ and $so_\infty$. In contrast with the finite-dimensional case, these tensor representations are not semisimple. We explicitly describe their Jordan-Holder constituents, socle filtrations, and indecomposable direct summands.
In a paper by Holm and Jorgensen, the cluster category $\mathscr{D}$ of type $A_\infty$, with Auslander-Reiten quiver $\mathbb{Z} A_\infty$, is introduced. Slices in the Auslander-Reiten quiver of $\mathscr{D}$ give rise to direct systems; the homotopy colimit of such direct systems can be computed and these "Prüfer objects" can be adjoined to form a larger category. It is this larger category, $\overline{\mathscr{D}},$ which is the main object of study in this paper. We show that $\overline{\mathscr{D}}$ inherits a nice geometrical structure from $\mathscr{D}$; "arcs" between non-neighbouring…
We show that the homotopy category of injective $A$-modules is generically trivial if and only if the derived category of all modules is generically trivial for an algebra $A$. Moreover we show some connections between the generic objects, locally finiteness and Krull-Gabriel dimension.
Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a Hom-finite additive Krull-Schmidt $k$-category where $k$ is an algebraically closed field. Let ${\rm mod} \mathcal{A}$ denote the category of locally finite dimensional $\mathcal{A}$-modules, that is, the category of covariant functors $\mathcal{A} \to {\rm mod} k$. We prove that an irreducible monomorphism in ${\rm mod} \mathcal{A}$ has a finitely generated cokernel, and that an irreducible epimorphism in ${\rm mod} \mathcal{A}$ has a finitely co-generated kernel. Using this, we get that an almost split sequence in ${\rm mod} \mathcal{A}$ has to start with a finitely co…
For a locally presentable abelian category $\mathsf B$ with a projective generator, we construct the projective derived and contraderived model structures on the category of complexes, proving in particular the existence of enough homotopy projective complexes of projective objects. We also show that the derived category $\mathsf D(\mathsf B)$ is generated, as a triangulated category with coproducts, by the projective generator of $\mathsf B$. For a Grothendieck abelian category $\mathsf A$, we construct the injective derived and coderived model structures on complexes. Assuming Vopenka's prin…
We find for each simple finitary Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ a category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ of integrable modules in which the tensor product of copies of the natural and conatural modules are injective. The objects in $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ can be defined as the finite length absolute weight modules, where by absolute weight module we mean a module which is a weight module for every splitting Cartan subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. The category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ is Koszul in the sense that it is antiequivalent to the category of locally unitary finite-dimensional modules over a c…
In this paper we consider the locally self-injective property of the product FI$^m$ of the category FI of finite sets and injections. Explicitly, we prove that the external tensor product commutes with the coinduction functor, and hence preserves injective modules. As corollaries, every projective FI$^m$-modules over a field of characteristic 0 is injective, and the Serre quotient of the category of finitely generated FI$^m$-modules by the category of finitely generated torsion FI$^m$-modules is equivalent to the category of finite dimensional FI$^m$-modules.
We explore the (noncommutative) geometry of locally simple representations of the diagonal locally finite Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n^\infty)$, $\mathfrak o(n^\infty)$, and $\mathfrak{sp}(n^\infty)$. Let $\mathfrak g_\infty$ be one of these Lie algebras, and let $I \subseteq U(\mathfrak g_\infty)$ be the nonzero annihilator of a locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-module. We show that for each such $I$, there is a quiver $Q$ so that locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-modules with annihilator $I$ are parameterised by "points" in the "noncommutative space" corresponding to the path algebra of…
Motivated by recent developments of $\infty$-categorical theories related to differential graded (dg for short) Lie algebras, we develop a general framework for locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules over a dg Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We show that the category of such locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules is almost a model category in the sense of Vallette. As a homotopy theoretical generalization of Loday and Pirashvili's Lie algebra objects in the tensor category of linear maps, we further study weak Loday-Pirashvili modules consisting of $\infty$-morphisms from locally f…
We define the extension group between an atom and an object in a locally noetherian Grothendieck category as a module over a skew field. We show that the dimension of the i-th extension group between an atom and an object coincides with the i-th Bass number of the object with respect to the atom. As an application, we give a bijection between the E-stable subcategories closed under arbitrary direct sums and direct summands and the subsets of the atom spectrum and show that such subcategories are also closed under extensions, kernels of epimorphisms, and cokernels of monomorphisms. We show some…
In this paper we study the representation theory of three monoids of partial functions on an $n$-set. The monoid of all order-preserving functions (i.e., functions satisfying $f(x)\leq f(y)$ if $x\leq y$) the monoid of all order-decreasing functions (i.e. functions satisfying $f(x)\leq x$) and their intersection (also known as the partial Catalan monoid). We use an isomorphism between the algebras of these monoids and the algebras of some corresponding locally trivial categories. We obtain an explicit description of a quiver presentation for each algebra. Moreover, we describe other invariants…
Let $X$ be a compact real analytic manifold, and let $T^*X$ be its cotangent bundle. Let $Sh(X)$ be the triangulated dg category of bounded, constructible complexes of sheaves on $X$. In this paper, we develop a Fukaya $A_\infty$-category $Fuk(T^*X)$ whose objects are exact, not necessarily compact Lagrangian branes in the cotangent bundle. We write $Tw Fuk(T^*X)$ for the $A_\infty$-triangulated envelope of $Fuk(T^*X)$ consisting of twisted complexes of Lagrangian branes. Our main result is that $Sh(X)$ quasi-embeds into $Tw Fuk(T^*X)$ as an $A_\infty$-category. Taking cohomology gives an embe…
We study linear and hermitian representations of finite $C_2$-graded groups. We prove that the category of linear representations is equivalent to a category of antilinear representations as an $\infty$-category. We also prove that the category hermitian representations, as an $\infty$-category, is equivalent to a category of usual representations.
