This work presents further analysis of the three- and four-neutron systems in the low energy regime using adiabatic hyperspherical methods. In our previous Phys. Rev. Lett. article (Phys. Rev. Lett. 125, 052501 (2020)), the low-energy behavior of these neutron systems was treated in the adiabatic approximation, neglecting the off-diagonal non-adiabatic couplings. A thorough analysis of the density of states through a multi-channel treatment of the three-and four-neutron scattering near the scattering continuum threshold is performed, showing no evidence of a 4n resonance at low energy. A detailed analysis of the long-range behavior of the lowest few adiabatic hyperspherical potentials shows there is an attractive $ρ^{-3}$ universal behavior which dominates in the low-energy regime of the multi-channel scattering. This long-range behavior leads to a divergent behavior of the density of state for $E\rightarrow0$ that could account for the low-energy signal observed in the 2016 experiment by Kisamori et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 052501 (2016)).
In this study, we analyzed how the incident neutron current is affected by the pairing effect in the neutron-nucleus scattering described within the framework of Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory by performing numerical calculations in terms of current, vorticity, and circulation of the incident neutron current. We found that the pairing effect on the incident neutron flux is completely different between particle-type and hole-type quasiparticle resonances. In the case of h-type quasiparticle resonance, the pairing acts to prevent the neutron flux from entering the nucleus, reducing circulation. …
Based on the realistic nuclear force of the high-precision CD-Bonn potential, we have performed comprehensive calculations for neutron-rich calcium isotopes using the Gamow shell model (GSM) which includes resonance and continuum. The realistic GSM calculations produce well binding energies, one- and two-neutron separation energies, predicting that $^{57}$Ca is the heaviest bound odd isotope and $^{70}$Ca is the dripline nucleus. Resonant states are predicted, which provides useful information for future experiments on particle emissions in neutron-rich calcium isotopes. Shell evolutions in th…
We analyse the contribution of isovector and isoscalar proton-neutron pairing to the binding energies of even-even nuclei with $N-Z=0,2,4$ and atomic mass $20 < A <100$. The binding energies are calculated in the mean-field approach by coupling a Skyrme-type functional to an isovector-isoscalar pairing force of zero range. The latter is treated in the framework of quartet condensation model (QCM), which conserves exactly the particle number and the isospin. The interdependence of pairing and deformation is taken into account by performing self-consistent Skyrme-HF+QCM calculations in the intri…
The low energy systems of three or four neutrons are treated within the adiabatic hyperspherical framework, yielding an understanding of the low energy quantum states in terms of an adiabatic potential energy curve. The dominant low energy potential curve for each system, computed here using widely accepted nucleon-nucleon interactions with and without the inclusion of a three-nucleon force, shows no sign of a low energy resonance. However, both systems exhibit a low energy enhancement of the density of states, or of the Wigner-Smith time-delay, which derives from long-range universal physics …
Two-body correlations in N=8 and 10 nuclei and effective neutron-neutron interactions in Tamm-Dancoff and two-particle RPA models

A measurement of the $^{50}$Ti($d$,$p$)$^{51}$Ti reaction at 16 MeV was performed using a Super Enge Split Pole Spectrograph to measure the magnitude of the $N=32$ subshell gap in Ti. Seven states were observed that had not been observed in previous ($d$,$p$) measurements, and the \textit{L} transfer values for six previously measured states were either changed or measured for the first time. The results were used to determine single neutron energies for the $p_{3/2}$, $p_{1/2}$ and $f_{5/2}$ orbitals. The resulting single neutron energies in $^{51}$Ti confirm the existence of the $N=32$ gap i…
The broad range of accumulated experimental data on the binding energies for single-particle states in nuclei is examined as a function of the constituent number of neutrons and protons and an unexpectedly simple pattern emerges. The dependence of the energies of neutron states on the number of constituent protons, or of proton states on the number of neutrons, are very similar to each other and the sign reflects the well-known strong attraction. For the same kind of nucleons changing as in the state -- energies for neutron states with neutron number changing or proton states with protons -- t…
The role of the tensor part of the nuclear interaction is actively investigated in recent years due to experimental advancement yielding new data in nuclei far from the $β$-stability line. In this article we study the effect of this part of the nuclear interaction on deformed neutron magic numbers in the rare-earth region within the Skyrme energy-density functional for various TIJ \cite{lesinski:2007} parametrizations. Two quantities signaling magic numbers are considered: two-neutron separation energies and single-particle energies. They are calculated in isotopic series involving well-deform…
The exotic even-even isotopic chains from Z=32 to Z=38 are investigated by means of the relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) approach with the explicit Density Dependent Meson-Exchange (DD-ME2) and Density Dependent Point-Coupling (DD-PC1) models. The classic magic number N=50 is reproduced and the new number N=70 is predicted to be a robust shell closure by analysing several calculated quantities such as: two-neutron separation energies, two-neutron shell gap, neutron pairing energy, potential energy surface and neutron single particle energies with and without the tensor force. The obtained…
