We prove uniqueness of the essential order for stratified algebras having simple preserving duality, generalizing a recent result of Coulembier for quasi-hereditary algebras. We apply this to classify, up to equivalence, regular integral blocks of $\mathcal{S}$-subcategories in the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$. We also describe various homological invariants of these blocks.
Auslander-Reiten duality for module categories is generalized to some sufficiently nice subcategories. In particular, our consideration works for $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}(Λ)$, the subcategory consisting of finitely generated modules with finite projective dimension over an artin algebra $Λ$, and also, the subcategory of Gorenstein projectove modules of $\rm{mod}\mbox{-}Λ$, denoted by $\rm{Gprj}\mbox{-}Λ$. In this paper, we give a method to compute the Auslander-Reiten translation in $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}(Λ)$ whenever $Λ$ is a $1$-Gorenstein algebra. In addition, we characterize when the Ausland…
We give a complete picture of the interaction between Koszul and Ringel dualities for graded standardly stratified algebras (in the sense of Cline, Parshall and Scott) admitting linear tilting (co)resolutions of standard and proper costandard modules. We single out a certain class of graded standardly stratified algebras imposing the condition that standard filtrations of projective modules are finite, and develop the tilting theory for such algebras. Under the assumption of existence of linear tilting (co)resolutions we show that algebras from this class are Koszul, that both Ringel and Koszu…
We give a complete picture of the interaction between Koszul and Ringel dualities for quasi-hereditary algebras admitting linear tilting (co)resolutions of standard and costandard modules. We show that such algebras are Koszul, that the class of these algebras is closed with respect to both dualities and that on this class these two dualities commute. All arguments reduce to short computations in the bounded derived category of graded modules.
We survey some methods developed in a series of papers, for classifying localising subcategories of tensor triangulated categories. We illustrate these methods by proving a new theorem, providing such a classification in the case of the stable module category of a unipotent finite supergroup scheme.
We study the properties of tilting modules in the context of properly stratified algebras. In particular, we answer the question when the Ringel dual of a properly stratified algebra is properly stratified itself, and show that the class of properly stratified algebras for which the characteristic tilting and cotilting modules coincide is closed under taking the Ringel dual. Studying stratified algebras, whose Ringel dual is properly stratified, we discover a new Ringel-type duality for such algebras, which we call the two-step duality. This duality arises from the existence of a new (generali…
Dlab--Ringel's standardization method gives a realization of a standardly stratified algebra. In this paper, we construct mixed stratified algebras, which are a generalization of standardly stratified algebras, following Dlab--Ringel's standardization method. Moreover, we study a Ringel duality of mixed stratified algebras from the viewpoint of stratifying systems.
A duality theorem for the singularity category of a finite dimensional Gorenstein algebra is proved. It complements a duality on the category of perfect complexes, discovered by Happel. One of its consequences is an analogue of Serre duality, and the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles for the $\mathfrak{p}$-local and $\mathfrak{p}$-torsion subcategories of the derived category, for each homogeneous prime ideal $\mathfrak{p}$ arising from the action of a commutative ring via Hochschild cohomology.
Let $\mathbf{S}_k$ denote a maximal torus in the complex Lie group $\mathbf{G} = \mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})/C_k$ and let $T_k$ denote a maximal torus in its compact real form $\mathrm{SU}_n(\mathbb{C})/C_k$, where $k$ divides $n$. Let $W$ denote the Weyl group of $\mathbf{G}$, namely the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$. We elucidate the structure of the extended quotient $\mathbf{S}_k // W$ as an algebraic variety and of $T_k // W$ as a topological space, in both cases describing them as bundles over unions of tori. Corresponding to the invariance of $K$-theory under Langlands duality, this ca…
We introduce a notion of generalized Auslander-Reiten duality on a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt exact category $\mathcal{C}$. This duality induces the generalized Auslander-Reiten translation functors $τ$ and $τ^-$. They are mutually quasi-inverse equivalences between the stable categories of two full subcategories $\mathcal{C}_r$ and $\mathcal{C}_l$ of $\mathcal{C}$. A non-projective indecomposable object lies in the domain of $τ$ if and only if it appears as the third term of an almost split conflation; dually, a non-injective indecomposable object lies in the domain of $τ^-$ if and only if it a…
Let $X$ be a partial flag variety, stratified by orbits of the Borel. We give a criterion for the category of modular perverse sheaves to be equivalent to modules over a Koszul ring. This implies that modular category $\mathcal O$ is governed by a Koszul-algebra in small examples.
We introduce a notion of generalized Serre duality on a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt triangulated category $\mathcal{T}$. This duality induces the generalized Serre functor on $\mathcal{T}$, which is a linear triangle equivalence between two thick triangulated subcategories of $\mathcal{T}$. Moreover, the domain of the generalized Serre functor is the smallest additive subcategory of $\mathcal{T}$ containing all the indecomposable objects which appear as the third term of an Auslander-Reiten triangle in $\mathcal{T}$; dually, the range of the generalized Serre functor is the smallest additive subc…
We are concerned with relating derived categories of all modules of two dual Koszul algebras defined by a locally bounded quiver. We first generalize the well known Acyclic Assembly Lemma and formalize an old method of extending a functor from an additive category into a complex category to its complex category. Applying this to the Koszul functor associated with a Koszul algebra defined by a gradable quiver, we obtain a Koszul complex functor, that descends to an equivalence of a continuous family of pairs of triangulated subcategories of doubly unbounded complexes of the respective derived c…
We generalize Quillen's $F$-isomorphism theorem, Quillen's stratification theorem, the stable transfer, and the finite generation of cohomology rings from finite groups to homotopical groups. As a consequence, we show that the category of module spectra over $C^*(B\mathcal{G},\mathbb{F}_p)$ is stratified and costratified for a large class of $p$-local compact groups $\mathcal{G}$ including compact Lie groups, connected $p$-compact groups, and $p$-local finite groups, thereby giving a support-theoretic classification of all localizing and colocalizing subcategories of this category. Moreover, w…
We introduce a new functor category: the category $\mathcal{P}_{d,n}$ of strict polynomial functors with bounded by $n$ domain of degree $d$ over a field of characteristic $p>0$. It is equivalent to the category of finite dimensional modules over the Schur algebra $S(n,d)$, hence it allows one to apply the tools available in functor categories to representations of the algebraic group $\operatorname{GL}_n$. We investigate in detail the homological algebra in ${\cal P}_{d,n}$ for $d=p$ and establish equivalences between certain subcategories of ${\cal P}_{d,n}$'s which resemble the Spanier-Whit…
There are many structures (algebras, categories, etc) with natural gradings such that the degree 0 components are not semisimple. Particular examples include tensor algebras with non-semisimple degree 0 parts, extension algebras of standard modules of standardly stratified algebras. In this thesis we develop a generalized Koszul theory for graded algebras (categories) whose degree 0 parts may be non-semisimple. Under some extra assumption, we show that this generalized Koszul theory preserves many classical results such as the Koszul duality. Moreover, it has some close relation to the classic…
Let $A$ be a standardly stratified algebra over a field $K$ and $T$ a tilting module over $A$. Let $Λ^+$ be an indexing set of all simple modules in $A\lmod$. We show that if there is an integer $r\in\N$ such that for any $λ\inΛ^+$, there is an embedding $Δ(λ)\hookrightarrow T^{\oplus r}$ as well as an epimorphism $T^{\oplus r}\twoheadrightarrow\overline{\nabla}(λ)$ as $A$-modules, then $T$ is a faithful $A$-module and $A$ has the double centraliser property with respect to $T$. As applications, we prove that if $A$ is quasi-hereditary with a simple preserving duality and $T$ a given faithful …
We generalize imaginary Howe duality for KLR algebras of affine ADE types, developed in our previous paper, from balanced to arbitrary convex preorders. Under the assumption that the characteristic of the ground field is greater than some explicit bound, we prove that these KLR algebras are properly stratified.
We use duality theorems to obtain presentations of some categories of modules. To derive these presentations we generalize a result of Cautis-Kamnitzer-Morrison [arXiv:1210.6437v4]: Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a reductive Lie algebra, and $A$ an algebra, both over $\mathbb{C}$. Consider a $(\mathfrak{g} , A)$-bimodule $P$ in which (a) $P$ has a multiplicity free decomposition into irreducible $(\mathfrak{g} , A)$-bimodules. (b) $P$ is "saturated" i.e. for any irreducible $\mathfrak{g}$-module $V$, if every weight of $V$ is a weight of $P$, then $V$ is a submodule of $P$. We show that statements (a) …
In this note, I describe the space of vacua $\mathcal{V}$ of four dimensional $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM on $\mathbb{R}^4$ with gauge group a compact simple Lie Group $G$ as a stratified space. On each stratum, the low energy effective field theory is different. This language allows one to make precise the idea of moving in the space of vacua $\mathcal{V}$. A particular subset of the strata of $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM can be efficiently described using the theory of sheets in a Lie algebra. For these strata, I study the conjectural action of S-duality. I also indicate some benefits of using such a languag…
