In this article we study a conjecture of Geiss-Leclerc-Schr{ö}er, which is an analogue of a classical conjecture of Lusztig in the Weyl group case. It concerns the relation between canonical basis and semi-canonical basis through the characteristic cycles. We formulate an approach to this conjecture and prove it for type $A_2$ quiver. In general type A case, we reduce the conjecture to show that certain nearby cycles have vanishing Euler characteristic.
A class of desingularizations for orbit closures of representations of Dynkin quivers is constructed, which can be viewed as a graded analogue of the Springer resolution. A stratification of the singular fibres is introduced; its geometry and combinatorics are studied. Via the Hall algebra approach, these constructions relate to bases of quantized enveloping algebras. Using Ginzburg's theory of convolution algebras, the base change coefficients of Lusztig's canonical basis are expressed as decomposition numbers of certain convolution algebras.
In the case of Dynkin quivers we establish a formula for the Grothendieck class of a quiver cycle as the iterated residue of a certain rational function, for which we provide an explicit combinatorial construction. Moreover, we utilize a new definition of the double stable Grothendieck polynomials due to Rimanyi and Szenes in terms of iterated residues to exhibit how the computation of quiver coefficients can be reduced to computing coefficients in Laurent expansions of certain rational functions.
Recently, Ringel introduced the resolution quiver for a connected Nakayama algebra. It is known that each connected component of the resolution quiver has a unique cycle. We prove that all cycles in the resolution quiver are of the same size. We introduce the notion of weight for a cycle in the resolution quiver. It turns out that all cycles have the same weight.
For an acyclic quiver, we establish a connection between the cohomology of quiver Grassmannians and the dual canonical bases of the algebra $U_q^-(\mathfrak{g})$, where $U_q^-(\mathfrak{g})$ is the negative half of the quantized enveloping algebra associated with the quiver. In order to achieve this goal, we study the cohomology of quiver Grassmannians by Lusztig's category. As a consequence, we describe explicitly the Poincaré polynomials of rigid quiver Grassmannians in terms of the coefficients of dual canonical bases, which are viewed as elements of quantum shuffle algebras. By this result…
We prove quantum dilogarithm identities for $n$-cycle quivers. By the combinatorial approach of Keller, each side of our identity determines a maximal green sequence of quiver mutations. Thus we interpret our identities as factorizations of the refined Donaldson--Thomas invariant for the quiver with potential. Finally, we conjecture an upper bound on the possible lengths of maximal green sequences.
We study quiver Grassmannians associated with indecomposable representations of the Kronecker quiver. We find a cellular decomposition of them and we compute their Betti numbers. As an application, we give a geometric realization of the "canonical basis" of cluster algebras of Kronecker type (found by Sherman and Zelevinsky) and of type $A_2^{(1)}$.
In this paper we show that there is a link between the combinatorics of the canonical basis of a quantized enveloping algebra and the monomial bases of the second author arising from representations of quivers. We prove that some reparametrization functions of the canonical basis, arising from the link between Lusztig's approach to the canonical basis and the string parametrization of the canonical basis, are given on a large region of linearity by linear functions arising from these monomial basis for a quantized enveloping algebra.
The irreducible components of the variety of all modules over the preprojective algebra and MV cycles both index bases of the universal enveloping algebra of the positive part of a semisimple Lie algebra canonically. To relate these two objects Baumann and Kamnitzer associate a cycle in the affine Grassmannian for a given module. It is conjectured that the ring of functions of the T-fixed point subscheme of the associated cycle is isomorphic to the cohomology ring of the quiver Grassmannian of the module. I give a proof of part of this conjecture. Given this conjecture, I give a proof of the r…
We study the Grothendieck classes of quiver cycles, i.e. invariant closed subvarieties of the representation space of a quiver. For quivers without oriented loops we show that the class of a quiver cycle is determined by quiver coefficients, which generalize the earlier studied quiver coefficients for equioriented quivers of type A. We conjecture that quiver coefficients satisfy positivity and finiteness properties. Our main result is a formula for the quiver coefficients for orbit closures of Dynkin type with rational singularities, which confirms the finiteness conjecture. This formula is ba…
In this paper, the singular Ringel-Hall algebra for a tame quiver is introduced and shown to be isomorphic to the positive part of the quantum extended Kac-Moody algebra. A PBW basis is constructed and a new class of perverse sheaves is shown to have purity property. This allows to construct the canonical bases of the positive part of the quantum extended Kac-Moody algebra. As an application, the existence of Hall polynomials for tame quiver algebras is proved.
In previous work we equipped quiver Grassmannians for nilpotent representations of the equioriented cycle with an action of an algebraic torus. We show here that the equivariant cohomology ring is acted upon by a product of symmetric groups and we investigate this permutation action via GKM techniques. In the case of (type A) flag varieties, or Schubert varieties therein, we recover Tymoczko's results on permutation representations.
Generalizing Schubert cells in type A and a cell decomposition if Springer fibres in type A found by L. Fresse we prove that varieties of complete flags in nilpotent representations of an oriented cycle admit an affine cell decomposition parametrized by multi-tableaux. We show that they carry a torus operation and describe the T-equivariant cohomology using Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson-theory. As an application of the cell decomposition we obtain a vector space basis of certain modules (for quiver Hecke algebras of nilpotent representations of this quiver), similar modules have been studied by …
With the help of Lusztig's canonical basis, we study local intersection cohomology of the Zariski closures of orbits of representations of a quiver of type A, D or E. In particular, we characterize the rationally smooth orbits and prove that orbit closures are smooth if and only if they are rationally smooth. This provides an analogue of theorems of V. Deodhar, and J. Carrell and D. Peterson on Schubert varieties.
Let A be the path algebra of a quiver Q with no oriented cycle. We study geometric properties of the Grassmannians of submodules of a given A-module M. In particular, we obtain some sufficient conditions for smoothness, polynomial cardinality and we give different approaches to Euler characteristics. Our main result is the positivity of Euler characteristics when M is an exceptional module. This solves a conjecture of Fomin and Zelevinsky for acyclic cluster algebras.
Inspired by a previous work of Nakajima, we consider perverse sheaves over acyclic graded quiver varieties and study the Fourier-Sato-Deligne transform from a representation theoretic point of view. We obtain deformed monoidal categorifications of acyclic quantum cluster algebras with specific coefficients. In particular, the (quantum) positivity conjecture is verified whenever there is an acyclic seed in the (quantum) cluster algebra. In the second part of the paper, we introduce new quantizations and show that all quantum cluster monomials in our setting belong to the dual canonical basis of…
In this paper, we give a recursive formula for the interesting PBW basis $E_{A}$ of composition subalgebras of Ringel-Hall algebras $\fkH_\vartri(n)$ of cyclic quivers after \cite{DengDuXiao2007generic}, and another construction of canonical bases of $\U_v^+(\wih{\fks\fkl}_n)$ from the monomial bases $m^{(A)}$ follow \cite{DuZhaomultiplication}. As an application, we will determined all the canonical basis of $\U_v^+(\wih{\fks\fkl}_2)$ associated with modules of Lowery length $\leqs3$. Finally, we will discuss the relation of canonical bases of Ringel-Hall algebras and those of affine quantum …
We use recent results on matrix semi-invariants to give degree bounds on generators for the ring of semi-invariants for quivers with no oriented cycles.
A unitary (Euclidean) representation of a quiver is given by assigning to each vertex a unitary (Euclidean) vector space and to each arrow a linear mapping of the corresponding vector spaces. We recall an algorithm for reducing the matrices of a unitary representation to canonical form, give a certain description of the representations in canonical form, and reduce the problem of classifying Euclidean representations to the problem of classifying unitary representations. We also describe the set of dimensions of all indecomposable unitary (Euclidean) representations of a quiver and establish t…
Let $Q$ be a quiver, $M$ a representation of $Q$ with an ordered basis $\cB$ and $\ue$ a dimension vector for $Q$. In this note we extend the methods of \cite{L12} to establish Schubert decompositions of quiver Grassmannians $\Gr_\ue(M)$ into affine spaces to the ramified case, i.e.\ the canonical morphism $F:T\to Q$ from the coefficient quiver $T$ of $M$ w.r.t.\ $\cB$ is not necessarily unramified. In particular, we determine the Euler characteristic of $\Gr_\ue(M)$ as the number of \emph{extremal successor closed subsets of $T_0$}, which extends the results of Cerulli Irelli (\cite{Cerulli11…
Toric quiver varieties (moduli spaces of quiver representations) are studied. Given a quiver and a weight there is an associated quasiprojective toric variety together with a canonical embedding into projective space. It is shown that for a quiver with no oriented cycles the homogeneous ideal of this embedded projective variety is generated by elements of degree at most $3$. In each fixed dimension $d$ up to isomorphism there are only finitely many $d$-dimensional toric quiver varieties. A procedure for their classification is outlined.
The semi-stable ChowHa of a quiver with stability is defined as an analog of the Cohomological Hall algebra of Kontsevich and Soibelman via convolution in equivariant Chow groups of semi-stable loci in representation varieties of quivers. We prove several structural results on the semi-stable ChowHa, namely isomorphism of the cycle map, a tensor product decomposition, and a tautological presentation. For symmetric quivers, this leads to an identification of their quantized Donaldson-Thomas invariants with the Chow-Betti numbers of moduli spaces.
We show that the mutation class of a finite quiver without oriented cycles is finite if and only is the quiver is either Dynkin, extended Dynkin or has at most two vertices.
For the Kronecker quiver, Zwara has found an example of a representation whose orbit closure is neither unibranch nor Cohen-Macaulay. In this note, we explain how to extend this example to all infinite type quivers without oriented cycles.
We classify gentle algebras defined by quivers with two cycles under derived equivalence in a non degenerate case, by using some combinatorial invariants constructed from the quiver with relations defining these algebras. We also present a list of normal forms; any such algebra is derived equivalent to one of the algebras in the list.
We show that a finite, connected quiver Q without oriented cycles is a Dynkin or Euclidean quiver if and only if all orbit semigroups of representations of Q are saturated.
We give a new short proof of Skowronski and Weyman's theorem about the structure of the algebras of semi-invariants of Euclidean quivers, in the case of quivers without oriented cycles. Our proof is based essentially on Derksen and Weyman's result about the generators of these algebras and properties of Schofield semi-invariants.
We give a closed expression for the number of points over finite fields (or the motive) of the Lusztig nilpotent variety associated to any quiver, in terms of Kac's A-polynomials. When the quiver has 1-loops or oriented cycles, there are several possible variants of the Lusztig nilpotent variety, and we provide formulas for the point count of each. This involves nilpotent versions of the Kac A-polynomial, which we introduce and for which we give a closed formula similar to Hua's formula for the usual Kac A-polynomial. Finally we compute the number of points over a finite field of the various s…
We show that a finite connected quiver Q with no oriented cycles is tame if and only if for each dimension vector $\mathbf{d}$ and each integral weight $θ$ of Q, the moduli space $\mathcal{M}(Q,\mathbf{d})^{ss}_θ$ of $θ$-semi-stable $\mathbf{d}$-dimensional representations of Q is just a projective space. In order to prove this, we show that the tame quivers are precisely those whose weight spaces of semi-invariants satisfy a certain log-concavity property. Furthermore, we characterize the tame quivers as being those quivers Q with the property that for each Schur root $\mathbf{d}$ of Q, the f…
Sherman-Zelevinsky and Cerulli constructed canonically positive bases in cluster algebras associated to affine quivers having at most three vertices. Both constructions involve cluster monomials and normalized Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind evaluated at a certain "imaginary" element in the cluster algebra. Using this combinatorial description, it is possible to define for any affine quiver $Q$ a set $\mathcal B(Q)$ which is conjectured to be the canonically positive basis of the acyclic cluster algebra $\mathcal A(Q)$. In this article, we provide a geometric realization of the element…
We show that the generic Hall algebra of nilpotent representations of an oriented cycle specialised at $q=0$ is isomorphic to the generic extension monoid in the sense of Reineke. This continues the work of Reineke.
We study the Hall and composition algebras of an affine quiver. In the case of a cyclic quiver, we provide generators for the central polynomial algebra described by Schiffmann and prove that this is in fact the whole of the centre of the Hall algebra. For an affine quiver without oriented cycles, we obtain a structure theorem for the composition algebra refining the structure provided by Zhang.
This paper studies connections between the preprojective representations of a valued quiver, the (+)-admissible sequences of vertices, and the Weyl group by associating to each preprojective representation a canonical (+)-admissible sequence. A (+)-admissible sequence is the canonical sequence of some preprojective representation if and only if the product of simple reflections associated to the vertices of the sequence is a reduced word in the Weyl group. As a consequence, for any Coxeter element of the Weyl group associated to an indecomposable symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix, the gr…
We show that for two quivers without oriented cycles related by a BGP reflection, the posets of their tilting modules are related by a simple combinatorial construction, which we call flip-flop. We deduce that the posets of tilting modules of derived equivalent path algebras of quivers without oriented cycles are universally derived equivalent.
In this paper, the rational Ringel-Hall algebras for tame quivers are introduced and are identified with the positive part of the quantum extended Kac-Moody algebras. By using the rational Ringel-Hall algebras, we show that the existence of Hall polynomials for tame quiver algebras. The PBW bases are constructed and new classes of perverse sheaves are shown to have strong purity property. These allows us to construct the canonical bases of the positive part of the quantum extended Kac-Moody algebras.
Motivated by a recent conjecture by Hernandez and Leclerc [arXiv:0903.1452], we embed a Fomin-Zelevinsky cluster algebra [arXiv:math/0104151] into the Grothendieck ring R of the category of representations of quantum loop algebras U_q(Lg) of a symmetric Kac-Moody Lie algebra g, studied earlier by the author via perverse sheaves on graded quiver varieties [arXiv:math/9912158]. Graded quiver varieties controlling the image can be identified with varieties which Lusztig used to define the canonical base. The cluster monomials form a subset of the base given by the classes of simple modules in R, …
We consider the bound quiver algebras whose ordinary quiver is that of a canonical algebra. We determine which of those algebras are hereditary, tilted, quasitilted, weakly shod or laura algebras.
These are notes on the construction of the GIT-fans for quivers without oriented cycles. We follow closely the steps outlined by N. Ressayre in "The GIT-Equivalence for G-Line Bundles" (Geometriae Dedicata, Volume 81, Numbers 1-3, 2000). A simple construction of the GIT-fan for normal, affine G-varities has been recently given by Ivan V. Arzhantsev and Juergen Hausen in "Geometric Invariant Theory via Cox Rings"
We construct bar-invariant $\mathbb{Z}[q^{\pm 1/2}]-$bases of the quantum cluster algebra of the Kronecker quiver which are quantum analogues of the canonical basis, semicanonical basis and dual semicanonical basis of the cluster algebra of the Kronecker quiver in the sense of \cite{sherzel},\cite{calzel} and \cite{gls} respectively. As a byproduct, we prove the positivity of the elements in these bases.
We prove a series of conjectures of Enomoto and Kashiwara on canonical bases and branching rules of affine Hecke algebras of type B. The main ingredient of the proof is a new graded Ext-algebra associated with quiver with involutions that we compute explicitly.
We develop a graded version of the theory of cyclotomic q-Schur algebras, in the spirit of the work of Brundan-Kleshchev on Hecke algebras and of Ariki on q-Schur algebras. As an application, we identify the coefficients of the canonical basis on a higher level Fock space with q-analogues of the decomposition numbers of cyclotomic q-Schur algebras. We present cyclotomic q-Schur algebras as a quotient of a convolution algebra arising in the geometry of quivers; hence we call these quiver Schur algebras. These algebras are also presented diagrammatically, similar in flavor to a recent constructi…
The canonical bases of cluster algebras of finite types and rank 2 are given explicitly in \cite{CK2005} and \cite{SZ} respectively. In this paper, we will deduce $\mathbb{Z}$-bases for cluster algebras for affine types $\widetilde{A}_{n,n},\widetilde{D}$ and $\widetilde{E}$. Moreover, we give an inductive formula for computing the multiplication between two generalized cluster variables associated to objects in a tube.
