We have proved theorems on compact classes of homeomorphisms with hydrodynamic normalization that are solutions of the Beltrami equation, whose characteristics are compactly supported and satisfy certain constraints of the theoretical-set type. As a consequence, we obtained results on compact classes of solutions of corresponding Dirichlet problems considered in some Jordan domain.
We consider the Dirichlet problem for the Beltrami equation in some simply connected domain. We consider the class of all homeomorphic solutions of such a problem with a normalization condition and set-theoretic constraints on their complex characteristics. We have proved the compactness of this class in terms of prime ends for an arbitrary continuous function in the Dirichlet condition.
We prove a compactness and semicontinuity result that applies to minimisation problems in nonhomogeneous linear elasticity under Dirichlet boundary conditions. This generalises a previous compactness theorem that we proved and employed to show existence of minimisers for the Dirichlet problem for the (homogeneous) Griffith energy.
In this work we show a compactness Theorem for discrete functions on Poisson point clouds. We consider sequences with equibounded non-local $p$-Dirichlet energy: the novelty consists in the intermediate-interaction regime at which the non-local energy is computed.

In this paper, we consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of Hessian quotient equations on Riemannian manifolds. Under the assumption of an admissible subsolution, we solve the existence and the uniquness for the Dirichlet problem in a domain without any geometric restrictions on the boundary, based on the a priori estimates for the solutions to the Hessian quotient type equations.
A system of boundary-domain integral equations is derived from the bidimensional Dirichlet problem for the diffusion equation with variable coefficient using the novel parametrix from [22] different from the one in [5,18]. Mapping properties of the surface and volume parametrix based potential-type operators are analysed. Invertibility of the single layer potential is also studied in detail in appropriate Sobolev spaces. We show that the system of boundary-domain integral equations derived is equivalent to the Dirichlet problem prescribed and we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution i…
We present first results on the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator associated with the $1$-Laplace operator in $L^1$. In particular, we show that this operator can be realized as a sub-differential operator in $L^1\times L^{\infty}$ of a homogeneous convex, continuous functional with effective domain $L^1$. Even though the Dirichlet problem associated with the $1$-Laplace operator loses the property that weak solutions for boundary data in $L^1$ are unique, we prove a type of stability/compactness result with respect to the boundary data in $L^1$ of this problem. We apply our results for the statio…
We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the $p$-Laplace differential operator with a reaction which has a subcritical growth restriction only from above. We prove two multiplicity theorems producing three nontrivial solutions, two of constant sign and the third nodal. The two multiplicity theorems differ on the geometry near the origin. In the semilinear case (that is, $p=2$), using Morse theory (critical groups), we produce a second nodal solution for a total of four nontrivial solutions. As an illustration, we show that our results incorporate and significantly extend the multipl…
We consider a variational problem with boundary singularity and Dirichlet condition. We give a blow-up analysis for sequences of solutions of an equation with exponential nonlinearity. Also, we derive a compactness criterion under some conditions.
We consider an energy functional combining the square of the local oscillation of a one--dimensional function with a double well potential. We establish the existence of minimal heteroclinic solutions connecting the two wells of the potential. This existence result cannot be accomplished by standard methods, due to the lack of compactness properties. In addition, we investigate the main properties of these heteroclinic connections. We show that these minimizers are monotone, and therefore they satisfy a suitable Euler-Lagrange equation. We also prove that, differently from the classical cases …
The present paper pioneers the study of the Dirichlet problem with $L^q$ boundary data for second order operators with complex coefficients in domains with lower dimensional boundaries, e.g., in $Ω:= \mathbb R^n \setminus \mathbb R^d$ with $d<n-1$. Following the first results of Guy David and the two first authors, the article introduces an appropriate degenerate elliptic operator and show that the Dirichlet problem is solvable for all $q>1$ provided that the coefficients satisfy the small Carleson norm condition. Even in the context of the classical case $d=n-1$, (the analogues of) our result…
We consider a Dirichlet problem for the Poisson equation in a periodically perforated domain. The geometry of the domain is controlled by two parameters: a real number $ε>0$ proportional to the radius of the holes and a map $ϕ$, which models the shape of the holes. So, if $g$ denotes the Dirichlet boundary datum and $f$ the Poisson datum, we have a solution for each quadruple $(ε,ϕ,g,f)$. Our aim is to study how the solution depends on $(ε,ϕ,g,f)$, especially when $ε$ is very small and the holes narrow to points. In contrast with previous works, we don't introduce the assumption that $f$ has z…
We devise a stochastic Hamiltonian formulation of the water wave problem. This stochastic representation is built within the framework of the modelling under location uncertainty. Starting from restriction to the free surface of the general stochastic fluid motion equations, we show how one can naturally deduce Hamiltonian structure under a small noise assumption. Moreover, as in the classical water wave theory, the non-local Dirichlet-Neumann operator appears explicitly in the energy functional. This, in particular, allows us, in the same way as in deterministic setting, to conduct systematic…
