This paper concerns the positive part $U^+_q$ of the quantum group $U_q({\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}}_2)$. The algebra $U^+_q$ has a presentation involving two generators that satisfy the cubic $q$-Serre relations. We recently introduced an algebra $\mathcal U^+_q$ called the alternating central extension of $U^+_q$. We presented $\mathcal U^+_q$ by generators and relations. The presentation is attractive, but the multitude of generators and relations makes the presentation unwieldy. In this paper we obtain a presentation of $\mathcal U^+_q$ that involves a small subset of the original set of generators and a very manageable set of relations. We call this presentation the compact presentation of $\mathcal U^+_q$.
In this paper, we introduce an algebra $\mathcal{H}$ from a subspace lattice with respect to a fixed flag which contains its incidence algebra as a proper subalgebra. We then establish a relation between the algebra $\mathcal{H}$ and the quantum affine algebra $U_{q^{1/2}}(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$, where $q$ denotes the cardinality of the base field. It is an extension of the well-known relation between the incidence algebra of a subspace lattice and the quantum algebra $U_{q^{1/2}}(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$. We show that there exists an algebra homomorphism from $U_{q^{1/2}}(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}…
We study the commutant of the vertex operator algebra $\mathcal{L}_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2}(4,0)$ in the cyclic permutation orbifold model $(\mathcal{L}_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2}(1,0)^{\otimes 4})^τ$ with $τ=(1\,2\,3\,4)$. It is shown that the commutant is isomorphic to a ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-orbifold model of a tensor product of two lattice type vertex operator algebras of rank one.
In [Kyushu J. Math. 64 (2010), 81-144, arXiv:0904.2889], it is discussed that a certain subalgebra of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$ controls the second kind TD-algebra of type I (the degenerate $q$-Onsager algebra). The subalgebra, which we denote by $U'_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$, is generated by $e_0^+$, $e_1^\pm$, $k_i^{\pm1}$ $(i=0,1)$ with $e^-_0$ missing from the Chevalley generators $e_i^\pm$, $k_i^{\pm1}$ $(i=0,1)$ of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. In this paper, we determine the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of $U'_q(\widehat{\mathf…
We construct embeddings of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$ in lattice vertex algebras by composing the Wakimoto realization with the Friedan-Martinec-Shenker bosonization. The Kac-Wakimoto hierarchy then gives rise to two new hierarchies of integrable, non-autonomous, non-linear partial differential equations. A new feature of our construction is that it works for any value of the central element of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$; that is, the level becomes a parameter in the equations.
Highest weight modules of the double affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}}_{2}$ are studied under a new triangular decomposition. Singular vectors of Verma modules are determined using a similar condition with horizontal affine Lie subalgebras, and highest weight modules are described under the condition that $c_1>0$ and $c_2=0$.
Two Homomorphisms from the affine Yangian associated with $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n)$ to the affine Yangian associated with $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n+1)$
In their seminal work J. Lepowsky and R. L. Wilson gave a vertex-operator theoretic interpretation of Gordon-Andrews-Bressoud's generalization of Rogers-Ramanujan combinatorial identities, by constructing bases of vacuum spaces for the principal Heisenberg subalgebra of standard $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{2}$-modules, parametrized with partitions satisfying certain difference 2 conditions. In this paper we define quasi-particles in the principal picture of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{2}$ and construct quasi-particle monomial bases of standard $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{2}$-modules for which princi…
We introduce the quantum determinant for the elliptic quantum algebra $\mathcal{A}_{q,p}(\mathfrak{\widehat{gl}}_N)$ and prove that it generates the center of this algebra.
Using the theory of vertex operator algebras and intertwining operators, we obtain presentations for the principal subspaces of all the standard $\widehat{\goth{sl}(3)}$-modules. Certain of these presentations had been conjectured and used in work of Calinescu to construct exact sequences leading to the graded dimensions of certain principal subspaces. We prove the conjecture in its full generality for all standard $\widehat{\goth{sl}(3)}$-modules. We then provide a conjecture for the case of $\widehat{\goth{sl}(n+1)}$.
We discuss the quantization of the $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$ coset vertex operator algebra $\mathcal{W}D(2,1;α)$ using the bosonization technique. We show that after quantization there exist three families of commuting integrals of motion coming from three copies of the quantum toroidal algebra associated to ${\mathfrak{gl}}_2$.
We consider imaginary Verma modules for quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{sl}(2)})$ and construct Kashiwara type operators and the Kashiwara algebra $\mathcal K_q$. We show that a certain quotient $\mathcal N_q^-$ of $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{sl}(2)})$ is a simple $\mathcal K_q$-module.
The work is devoted to a probably new connection between deformed Virasoro algebra and quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. We give an explicit realization of Virasoro current via vertex operators of level 1 integrable representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. The same is done for a twisted version of deformed Virasoro algebra.
The positive part $U^+_q$ of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$ has a presentation with two generators $A,B$ that satisfy the cubic $q$-Serre relations. We introduce a PBW basis for $U^+_q$, said to be alternating. Each element of this PBW basis commutes with exactly one of $A$, $B$, $qAB-q^{-1}BA$. This gives three types of PBW basis elements; the elements of each type mutually commute. We interpret the alternating PBW basis in terms of a $q$-shuffle algebra associated with affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. We show how the alternating PBW basis is related to the PBW basis for $U^+_q$ found by Damiani i…
The positive part $U^+_q$ of $U_q({\widehat {\mathfrak{sl}}}_2)$ has a presentation with two generators $A,B$ that satisfy the cubic $q$-Serre relations. In 1993 I. Damiani obtained a PBW basis for $U^+_q$, consisting of some elements $\lbrace E_{nδ+α_0}\rbrace_{n=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace E_{nδ+α_1}\rbrace_{n=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace E_{nδ}\rbrace_{n=1}^\infty$ that are defined recursively. Our goal is to describe these elements in closed form. We achieve this goal using Catalan words and a $q$-shuffle algebra.
Using completions of certain universal enveloping algebras, we provide a natural setting for families of defining relations for the principal subspaces of standard modules for untwisted affine Lie algebras. We also use the theory of vertex operator algebras and intertwining operators to construct exact sequences among principal subspaces of certain standard $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}(n)}$-modules, $n \ge 3$. As a consequence, we obtain the multigraded dimensions of the principal subspaces $W(k_1Λ_1 + k_2 Λ_2)$ and $W(k_{n-2}Λ_{n-2} + k_{n-1} Λ_{n-1})$. This generalizes earlier work by Calinescu o…
The positive part $U_q^+$ of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$ admits an embedding into a $q$-shuffle algebra. This embedding was introduced by M. Rosso in 1995. In 2019, Terwilliger introduced the alternating elements $\{W_{-n}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, $\{W_{n+1}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, $\{G_{n+1}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, $\{\tilde{G}_{n+1}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$ in $U_q^+$ using the Rosso embedding. He showed that the alternating elements $\{W_{-n}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, $\{W_{n+1}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, $\{\tilde{G}_{n+1}\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$ form a PBW basis for $U_q^+$, and he expressed $\{G_{n…
This paper is about the positive part $U^+_q$ of the quantum group $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. The algebra $U^+_q$ has a presentation with two generators $A,B$ that satisfy the cubic $q$-Serre relations. Recently we introduced a type of element in $U^+_q$, said to be alternating. Each alternating element commutes with exactly one of $A$, $B$, $qBA-q^{-1}AB$, $qAB-q^{-1}BA$; this gives four types of alternating elements. There are infinitely many alternating elements of each type, and these mutually commute. In the present paper we use the alternating elements to obtain a central extensio…
For the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_3$ and positive integer $k$, we study the representations of the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$. All the irreducible modules for $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are classified and constructed explicitly. Quantum dimensions and fusion rules for the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are completely determined.
We prove an analogue of the MacMahon Master Theorem for the right quantum superalgebras. In particular, we obtain a new and simple proof of this theorem for the right quantum algebras. In the super case the theorem is then used to construct higher order Sugawara operators for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(m|n)$ in an explicit form. The operators are elements of a completed universal enveloping algebra of $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(m|n)$ at the critical level. They occur as the coefficients in the expansion of a noncommutative Berezinian and as the traces of powers of gener…
We construct vertex algebraic intertwining operators among certain generalized Verma modules for $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{C})}$ and calculate the corresponding fusion rules. Additionally, we show that under some conditions these intertwining operators descend to intertwining operators among one generalized Verma module and two (generally non-standard) irreducible modules. Our construction relies on the irreducibility of the maximal proper submodules of generalized Verma modules appearing in the Garland-Lepowsky resolutions of standard $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{C})}$-modules. W…
Notes on a homomorphism from the affine Yangian associated with $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n)$ to the affine Yangian associated with $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n+1)$
We consider two different methods of associating vertex algebraic structures with the level $1$ principal subspaces for $U_q (\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. In the first approach, we introduce certain commutative operators and study the corresponding vertex algebra and its module. We find combinatorial bases for these objects and show that they coincide with the principal subspace bases found by B. L. Feigin and A. V. Stoyanovsky. In the second approach, we introduce the, so-called nonlocal $\underline{\mathsf{q}}$-vertex algebras, investigate their properties and construct the nonlocal $\underl…
We put forward the exact version of two-parameter generating functions with $τ$-invariance, which allows us to give a unified and inherent definition for the Drinfeld realization of two-parameter quantum affine algebras for all the untwisted types. As verification, we first construct their level-one vertex representations of $U_{r,s}(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})$ for simply-laced types, which in turn well-detect the effectiveness of our definitions both for $(r,s)$-generating functions and $(r,s)$-Drinfeld realization in the framework of establishing the two-parameter vertex representation theory.
In this article, we introduce a completion $\widehat{U}^+_v(\mathcal{L}\mathfrak{g})$ of the positive half of the quantum affinization $U^+_v(\mathcal{L}\mathfrak{g})$ of a symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. On $\widehat{U}^+_v(\mathcal{L}(\mathfrak{g}))$, we define a new "bar-involution" and construct the analogue Kashiwara's operators. We conjecture that the resulting pair $(\widehat{\mathcal{L}},\widehat{\mathcal{B}})$ is a crystal basis which provides the existence of the "canonical basis" on the (completion of the) of the positive half of the quamtum affinization.
We give shuffle algebra realization of positive part of quantum affine superalgebra $U_{v}(\widehat{\mathfrak{D}}(2,1;θ))$ associated to any simple root systems. We also determine the shuffle algebra associated to $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2|1)$ with odd root system when $v$ is a primitive root of unity of even order, generalizing results in \cite{FJMMT03}.
Arakawa, Suzuki and Tsuchiya constructed a correspondence between certain modules of the trigonometric Cherednik algebra $\mathfrak{C}_N$ depending on a parameter $κ\in\mathbb{C}$, and certain modules of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_m$ of level $κ-m$. We give a detailed proof of this correspondence by working with the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_m$ alongside of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_m$. We also relate this construction to a correspondence between certain modules of the degenerate affine Hecke algebra $\mathfrak{H}_N$ and all modules of $\mathfrak{sl}_m$ or…
An infinite dimensional algebra denoted $\bar{\cal A}_q$ that is isomorphic to a central extension of $U_q^+$ - the positive part of $U_q(\widehat{sl_2})$ - has been recently proposed by Paul Terwilliger. It provides an `alternating' Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt (PBW) basis besides the known Damiani's PBW basis built from positive root vectors. In this paper, a presentation of $\bar{\cal A}_q$ in terms of a Freidel-Maillet type algebra is obtained. Using this presentation: (a) finite dimensional tensor product representations for $\bar{\cal A}_q$ are constructed; (b) explicit isomorphisms from $\bar…
We introduce a category $\widehat{\mathcal{O}}_{\rm osc}$ of $q$-oscillator representations of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n)$. We show that $\widehat{\mathcal{O}}_{\rm osc}$ has a family of irreducible representations, which naturally corresponds to finite-dimensional irreducible representations of quantum affine algebra of untwisted affine type $A$. It is done by constructing a category of $q$-oscillator representations of the quantum affine superalgebra of type $A$, which interpolates these two family of irreducible representations. The category $\widehat{\mathca…
We study the ODE/IM correspondence for all states of the quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$-KdV model, where $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$ is the affinization of a simply-laced simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We construct quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$-KdV opers as an explicit realization of the class of opers introduced by Feigin and Frenkel, which are defined by fixing the singularity structure at $0$ and $\infty$, and by allowing a finite number of additional singular terms with trivial monodromy. We prove that the generalized monodromy data of the quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$-KdV opers s…
A new categorical crystal structure for the quantum affine algebras is presented. We introduce the extended crystal $\widehat{B}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\infty)$ for an arbitrary quantum group, which is the product of infinite copies of the crystal $B(\infty)$. For a complete duality datum in the Hernandez-Leclerc category $\mathcal{C}^0_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of a quantum affine algebra $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$, we prove that the set of the isomorphism classes of simple modules in $\mathcal{C}^0_{\mathfrak{g}}$ has an extended crystal structure isomorphic to the extended crystal $\widehat{B}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\inft…
In this paper, we classify all simple jet modules for the Neveu-Schwarz algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{k}}$ and its contact subalgebra $\mathfrak{k}^+$. Based on these results, we give a classification of simple Harish-Chandra modules for $\widehat{\mathfrak{k}}$ and $\mathfrak{k}^+$.
For any fixed composition $μ$ of $M+N$ and any fixed $0^M1^N$-sequence $\mathfrak{s}$, we obtain a new presentation of the super Yangian $Y_{M|N}$ associated to the general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{M|N}$.
The fractional level models are (logarithmic) conformal field theories associated with affine Kac-Moody (super)algebras at certain levels $k \in \mathbb{Q}$. They are particularly noteworthy because of several longstanding difficulties that have only recently been resolved. Here, Wakimoto's free field realisation is combined with the theory of Jack symmetric functions to analyse the fractional level $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2)$ models. The first main results are explicit formulae for the singular vectors of minimal grade in relaxed Wakimoto modules. These are closely related to the minimal gra…
We consider the Whittaker modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ for the Weyl vertex algebra $M$, constructed in arXiv:1811.04649, where it was proved that these modules are irreducible for each finite cyclic orbifold $M^{\Bbb Z_n}$. In this paper, we consider the modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ as modules for the ${\Bbb Z}$-orbifold of $M$, denoted by $M^0$. $M^0$ is isomorphic to the vertex algebra $\mathcal W_{1+\infty, c=-1} = \mathcal M(2) \otimes M_1(1)$ which is the tensor product of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $M_1(1)$ and the singlet algebra $\mathcal M(2)$. Furthermore, these modules are also modules of the Li…
Prompted an inquiry of Manin on whether a coacting Hopf-type structure $H$ and an algebra $A$ that is coacted upon share algebraic properties, we study the particular case of $A$ being a path algebra $\Bbbk Q$ of a finite quiver $Q$ and $H$ being Hayashi's face algebra $\mathfrak{H}(Q)$ attached to $Q$. This is motivated by the work of Huang, Wicks, Won, and the second author, where it was established that the weak bialgebra coacting universally on $\Bbbk Q$ (either from the left, right, or both sides compatibly) is $\mathfrak{H}(Q)$. For our study, we define the Kronecker square $\widehat{Q}$…
For the Klein group $K$ and a positive integr $k$, irreducible modules of the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{K}$ have been classified and constructed in \cite{JWa}. In this paper, we determine completely the fusion rules of $L_{\widehat{\frak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{K}$.
The affine evaluation map is a surjective homomorphism from the quantum toroidal ${\mathfrak {gl}}_n$ algebra ${\mathcal E}'_n(q_1,q_2,q_3)$ to the quantum affine algebra $U'_q\widehat{\mathfrak {gl}}_n$ at level $κ$ completed with respect to the homogeneous grading, where $q_2=q^2$ and $q_3^n=κ^2$. We discuss ${\mathcal E}'_n(q_1,q_2,q_3)$ evaluation modules. We give highest weights of evaluation highest weight modules. We also obtain the decomposition of the evaluation Wakimoto module with respect to a Gelfand-Zeitlin type subalgebra of a completion of ${\mathcal E}'_n(q_1,q_2,q_3)$, which d…
We show that the Kazhdan-Lusztig category $KL_k$ of level-$k$ finite-length modules with highest-weight composition factors for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)}$ has vertex algebraic braided tensor supercategory structure, and that its full subcategory $\mathcal{O}_k^{fin}$ of objects with semisimple Cartan subalgebra actions is a tensor subcategory. We show that every simple $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)}$-module in $KL_k$ has a projective cover in $\mathcal{O}_k^{fin}$, and we determine all fusion rules involving simple and projective objects in $\mathcal{O}_k^{fin}$.…
Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type subspace $W(Λ)$ of a standard $\tilde{\mathfrak g}$-module $L(Λ)$ is a $\tilde{\mathfrak g}_1$-submodule of $L(Λ)$ generated by the highest-weight vector $v_Λ$, where $\tilde{\mathfrak g}_1$ is a certain commutative subalgebra of $\tilde{\mathfrak g}$. Based on the description of basis of $W(Λ)$ for $\tilde{\mathfrak g}$ of type $C_\ell^{(1)}$, we give a presentation of this subspace in terms of generators and relations $$W(Λ)\simeq U(\tilde{\mathfrak g}_1^-)/J.$$
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be the derived subalgebra of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra of finite type or affine type, $μ$ a diagram automorphism of $\mathfrak{g}$ and $L(\mathfrak{g},μ)$ the loop algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$ associated to $μ$. In this paper, by using the vertex algebra technique, we provide a general construction of current type presentations for the universal central extension $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}[μ]$ of $L(\mathfrak{g},μ)$. The construction contains the classical limit of Drinfeld's new realization for (twisted and untwisted) quantum affine algebras ([Dr]) and the Moody-Rao-Yokonuma presen…
It is conjectured that the Kashiwara-Vergne Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{krv}}_2$ is isomorphic to the direct sum of the Grothendieck-Teichmüller Lie algebra $\mathfrak{grt}_1$ and a one-dimensional Lie algebra. In this paper, we use the graph complex of internally connected graphs to define a nested sequence of Lie subalgebras of $\widehat{\mathfrak{krv}}_2$ whose intersection is $\mathfrak{grt}_1$, thus giving a way to interpolate between these two Lie algebras.
The equitable presentation of the quantum algebra $U_q(\widehat{sl_2})$ is considered. This presentation was originally introduced by T. Ito and P. Terwilliger. In this paper, following Terwilliger's recent works the (nonstandard) positive part of $U_q(\widehat{sl_2})$ of equitable type $U_q^{IT,+}$ and its second realization (current algebra) $U_q^{T,+}$ are introduced and studied. A presentation for $U_q^{T,+}$ is given in terms of a K-operator satisfying a Freidel-Maillet type equation and a condition on its quantum determinant. Realizations of the K-operator in terms of Ding-Frenkel L-oper…
