The article discusses the fractional powers of the Bessel operator and their numerical implementation. An extensive literature is devoted to the study of fractional powers of the Laplace operator and their applications. Such degrees are used in the construction of functional spaces, in the natural generalization of the Schrödinger equation in quantum theory, in the construction of the models of acoustic wave propagation in complex media (for example, biological tissues) and space-time models of anomalous (very slow or very fast) diffusion, in spectral theory etc. If we assume the radiality of the function on which the Laplace operator acts, then we receive the problem of constructing the fractional power of the Bessel operator. We propose to use a compositional method for constructing the operators mentioned earlier, which leads to constructions similar in their properties to the Riesz derivatives. The Hankel transform is considered as a basic integral transformation. On its basis, the compositional method proposed by V.V. Katrakhov and S.M. Sitnik, negative powers of the Bessel operator are constructed. The resulting operator contains the Gaussian hypergeometric function in the kernel. For further study, the generalized translation operator is considered in the article, and its properties are proved. For constructing a positive fractional power of the Bessel operator known methods of regularization of the integral are considered. Then, a scheme for the numerical calculation of fractional powers of the Bessel operator is proposed. This scheme is based on the Taylor--Delsarte formula obtained by B.M. Levitan.
In this work, we study the fractional power series solutions around regular singular point x=0 of conformable fractional Bessel differential equation and fractional Bessel functions. Then, we compare fractional solutions with ordinary solutions. In addition, we present certain property of fractional Bessel functions.
In the article we propose and study a method to solve ordinary differential equations with left-sided fractional Bessel derivatives on semi-axes of Gerasimov-Caputo type. We derive explicit solutions to equations with fractional powers of Bessel operator using the Meijer integral transform.
In this paper we study the regularity properties of the Gaussian Bessel potentials and Gaussian Bessel fractional derivatives on variable Gaussian Besov-Lipschitz spaces $B_{p(\cdot),q(\cdot)}^α(γ_{d}),$ that were defined in a previous paper \cite{Pinrodurb}, under certain conditions on $p(\cdot)$ and $q(\cdot)$.
In this paper we study fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator defined on a semiaxis. Some important properties of such fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator are proved. They include connections with Legendre functions for kernel representations, fractional integral operators of Liouville and Saigo, Mellin transform and index laws. Possible applications are indicated to differential equations with fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator.
In this note we apply a modified fractional Bessel differential equation to the problem of describing corneal topography. We find the solution in terms of the power series. This solution has an interesting behavior at infinity which is a generalization of the classical results for modified Bessel function of order 0. Our model fits the real corneal geometry data with an error of order of a few per cent.
In this paper we will study the boundedness of Riesz Potentials, Bessel potentials and Fractional Derivatives on Gaussian Besov-Lipschitz spaces $B_{p,q}^α(γ_d)$. Also these results can be extended to the case of Laguerre or Jacobi expansions and even further to the general framework of diffusions semigroups.
In this present paper our aim is to deal with two integral transforms which involving the Gauss hypergeometric function as its kernels. We prove some compositions formulas for such a generalized fractional integrals with k Bessel function. The results are established in terms of generalized Wright type hypergeometric function and generalized hypergeometric series. Also, the authors presented some corresponding assertions for Riemann Liouville and Erdelyi Kober fractional integral transforms.
We develop a new and further generalized form of the fractional kinetic equation involving generalized k-Bessel function. The manifold generality of the generalized k-Bessel function is discussed in terms of the solution of the fractional kinetic equation in the present paper. The results obtained here are quite general in nature and capable of yielding a very large number of known and (presumably) new results.
Two integral operator involving the Appell's functions, or Horn's function in the kernel are considered. Composition of such functions with generalized Bessel functions of the first kind are expressed in term of generalized Wright function and generalized hypergeometric series. Many special cases, including cosine and sine function are also discussed.
We obtain integral representations of the $n$-th derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. The numerical evaluation of these expressions is very efficient using a double exponential integration strategy. Also, from the integral representation corresponding to the Macdonald function, we have calculated a new integral. Finally, we calculate integral expressions for the fractional derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. Simple proofs for some particular cases given in the literature are provided as well.
Fractional kinetic equations are investigated in order to describe the various phenomena governed by anomalous reaction in dynamical systems with chaotic motion. Many authors have provided solutions for various families of fractional kinetic equations involving special functions. Here, in this paper, we aim at presenting solutions of certain general families of fractional kinetic equations associated with the generalized modified $k$-Bessel function of the first kind. It is also pointed out that the main results presented here are general enough to be able to be specialized to yield many known…
This paper was published in the special issue of the Journal of Inequalities and Special Functions dedicated to Professor Ivan Dimovski's contributions to different fields of mathematics: transmutation theory, special functions, integral transforms, function theory etc. In this paper we study fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator. The fractional powers are defined explicitly in the integral form without use of integral transforms in its definitions. Some general properties of the fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator are proved and some are listed. Among them ar…
In a previous paper the boundedness properties of Riesz Potentials, Bessel potentials and Fractional Derivatives were studied in detail on Gaussian Besov-Lipschitz spaces $B_{p,q}^α(γ_d)$. In this paper we will continue our study proving the boundedness of those operators on Gaussian Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $F_{p,q}^α(γ_d)$. Also these results can be extended to the case of Laguerre or Jacobi expansions and even further to the general framework of diffusions semigroups.
We aim to introduce the generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $ and to present some formulas of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integration and differentiation operators. Further, we also derive certain integral formulas involving the newly defined generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $. We prove that such integrals are expressed in terms of the Fox-Wright function $_{p}Ψ_{q}(z)$. The results presented here are of general in nature an…
Hardy-Littlewood maximal, generalized Bessel-Riesz and generalized fractional integral operators in generalized Morrey and $BMO_ϕ$ spaces associated with Dunkl operator on the real line
The goal of this paper is to extend the classical and multiplicative fractional derivatives. For this purpose, it is introduced the new extended modified Bessel function and also given an important relation between this new function I(v,q;x) and the confluent hypergeometric function. Besides, it is used to generalize the hypergeometric, the confluent hypergeometric and the extended beta functions by using the new extended modified Bessel function. Also, the asymptotic formulae and the generating function of the extended modified Bessel function are obtained. The extensions of classical and mul…
Fix $λ>0$. Consider the Bessel operator $\triangle_λ:=-\frac{d^2}{dx^2}-\frac{2λ}{x} \frac d{dx}$ on $\mathbb{R_+}$, where $\mathbb{R_+}:=(0,\infty)$ and $dm_λ:=x^{2λ}dx$ with $dx$ the Lebesgue measure. We provide a deeper study of the Bessel Riesz transform and fractional integral operator via the related Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces associated with $\triangle_λ$. Moreover, we investigate some possible characterization of the commutator of fractional integral operator, which was missing in the literature of the Bessel setting.
This paper provides a method to study the non-negativity of certain linear operators, from other operators with similar spectral properties. If these new operators are formally self-adjoint and non-negative, we can study the complex powers using an appropriate locally convex space. In this case, the initial operator also will be non-negative and we will be able to study their powers. In particular, we have applied this method to Bessel-type operators.
In a rectangular domain, a boundary-value problem is considered for a mixed-type equation with a regularized Caputo-like counterpart of hyper-Bessel differential operator and the bi-ordinal Hilfer's fractional derivative. Using the method of separation of variables, Laplace transform, a unique solvability of the considered problem has been established. Moreover, we have found the explicit solution of initial problems for a differential equation with the bi-ordinal Hilfer's derivative and regularized Caputo-like counterpart of the hyper-Bessel differential operator with the non-zero starting po…
The generalized operators of fractional integration involving Appell's function $F_{3}(.) $ due to Marichev-Saigo-Maeda, is applied to the Bessel Struve kernel function $S_{α}\left( λz\right),λ,z\in \mathbb{C}$ to obtain the results in terms of generalized Wright functions. The pathway integral representations Bessel Struve kernel function and its relation between many other functions also derived in this study.
We prove sharp power-weighted $L^p$, weak type and restricted weak type inequalities for the heat semigroup maximal operator and Riesz transforms associated with the Bessel operator $B_ν$ in the exotic range of the parameter $-\infty < ν< 1$. Moreover, in the same framework, we characterize basic mapping properties for other fundamental harmonic analysis operators, including the heat semigroup based vertical $g$-function and fractional integrals (Riesz potential operators).
We study potential operators (Riesz and Bessel potentials) associated with classical Jacobi and Fourier-Bessel expansions. We prove sharp estimates for the corresponding potential kernels. Then we characterize those $1 \le p,q \le \infty$, for which the potential operators are of strong type $(p,q)$, of weak type $(p,q)$ and of restricted weak type $(p,q)$. These results may be thought of as analogues of the celebrated Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev fractional integration theorem in the Jacobi and Fourier-Bessel settings. As an ingredient of our line of reasoning, we also obtain sharp estimates of t…
This is a survey paper in two parts. In the first part we list main variants of one-dimensional fractional integrodifferential operators. Also some historical and priority remarks are given. As a special question we consider the impact of Soviet and Russian researches to fractional calculus and its applications to viscoelasticity theory. We also stress an impact of the Voronezh school of mechanics and viscoelasticity theory, including works of Shermergor, Meschkov, Rossikhin, Shitikova and others. In the second part of the paper we consider two important special classes of generalized fraction…
In this paper, we aim to present new extensions of incomplete gamma, beta, Gauss hypergeometric, confluent hypergeometric function and Appell-Lauricella hypergeometric functions, by using the extended Bessel function due to Boudjelkha [4]. Some recurrence relations, transformation formulas, Mellin transform and integral representations are obtained for these generalizations. Further, an extension of the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative operator is established.

We present an iterative method to obtain approximations to Bessel functions of the first kind $J_p(x)$ ($p>-1$) via the repeated application of an integral operator to an initial seed function $f_0(x)$. The class of seed functions $f_0(x)$ leading to sets of increasingly accurate approximations $f_n(x)$ is considerably large and includes any polynomial. When the operator is applied once to a polynomial of degree $s$, it yields a polynomial of degree $s+2$, and so the iteration of this operator generates sets of increasingly better polynomial approximations of increasing degree. We focus on the…
In this paper we consider square functions (also called Littlewood-Paley g-functions) associated to Hankel convolutions acting on functions in the Bochner-Lebesgue space $L^p((0,\infty),B)$, where $B$ is a UMD Banach space. As special cases we study square functions defined by fractional derivatives of the Poisson semigroup for the Bessel operator $Δ_λ=-x^{-λ}\frac{d}{dx}x^{2λ}\frac{d}{dx}x^{-λ}$, $λ>0$. We characterize the UMD property for a Banach space $B$ by using $L^p((0,\infty),B)$-boundedness properties of g-functions defined by Bessel-Poisson semigroups. As a by product we prove that t…
In this paper, we consider the characterizations of the Lipschitz spaces and homogeneous Lipschitz spaces associated to the biharmonic operator $Δ^2.$ With this characterizations, we prove the boundedness of the Bessel potentials, fractional integrals, fractional powers, Riesz transforms and multipliers of Laplace transforms type associated to $Δ^2$ on Lipschitz spaces and homogeneous Lipschitz spaces. The proofs of these results need the language of semigroups in an essential way.
