The physical processes behind the production of light nuclei in heavy ion collisions are unclear. The nice theoretical description of experimental yields by thermal models conflicts with the very small binding energies of the observed states, being fragile in such a hot and dense environment. Other available ideas are delayed production via coalescence, or a cooling of the system after the chemical freeze-out according a Saha equation, or a `quench' instead of a thermal freeze-out. A recently derived prescription of an (interacting) Hagedorn gas is applied to consolidate the above pictures. The tabulation of decay rates of Hagedorn states into light nuclei allows to calculate yields usually unaccessable due to very poor Monte Carlo statistics. Decay yields of stable hadrons and light nuclei are calculated. While the scale-free decays of Hagedorn states alone are not compatible with the experimental data, a thermalized hadron and Hagedorn state gas is able to describe the experimental data. Applying a cooling of the system according a Saha-equation with conservation of nucleons and anti-nucleons in number leads to (nearly) temperature independent yields, thus a production of the light nuclei at temperatures much lower than the chemical freeze-out temperature is possible.
A novel, unorthodox picture of the dynamics of heavy ion collisions is developed using the concept of Hagedorn states. A prescription of the bootstrap of Hagedorn states respecting the conserved quantum numbers baryon number B, strangeness S, isospin I is implememted into the GiBUU transport model. Using a strangeness saturation suppression factor suitable for nucleon-nucleon-collisions, recent experimental data for the strangeness production by the HADES collaboration in Au+Au and Ar+KCl is reasonable well described. The experimental observed exponential slopes of the energy distributions are…
Hagedorn states are the key to understand how all hadrons observed in high energy heavy ion collisions seem to reach thermal equilibrium so quickly. An assembly of Hagedorn states is formed in elementary hadronic or heavy ion collisions at hadronization. Microscopic simulations within the transport model UrQMD allow to study the time evolution of such a pure non-equilibrated Hagedorn state gas towards a thermally equilibrated Hadron Resonance Gas by using dynamics, which unlike strings, fully respect detailed balance. Propagation, repopulation, rescatterings and decays of Hagedorn states provi…
In this work, we have studied the isothermal compressibility ($κ_T$) as a function of temperature, baryon chemical potential and centre-of-mass energy ($\sqrt{s_{NN}}$) using hadron resonance gas (HRG) and excluded-volume hadron resonance gas (EV-HRG) models. A mass cut-off dependence of isothermal compressibility has been studied for a physical resonance gas. Further, we study the effect of heavier resonances ($>$ 2 GeV) on the isothermal compressibility by considering the Hagedorn mass spectrum, $ρ(m)\sim{\exp(bm)}/{(m^2+m_0^2)^{5/4}}$. Here, the parameters, $b$ and $m_0$ are extracted after…
We present a study of transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) spectra of unidentified charged particles in pp collisions at RHIC and LHC energies from $\sqrt{s}$ = 62.4 GeV to 13 TeV using Tsallis/Hagedorn function. The power law of Tsallis/Hagedorn form gives excellent description of the hadron spectra in $p_{T}$ range from 0.2 to 300 GeV/$c$. The power index $n$ of the $p_T$ distributions is found to follow a function of the type $a+b/\sqrt {s}$ with asymptotic value $a = 5.72$. The parameter $T$ governing the soft bulk contribution to the spectra remains almost same over wide range of collision energ…
A scenario of heavy resonances, called massive Hagedorn states, is proposed which exhibits a fast ($t\approx 1$ fm/c) chemical equilibration of (strange) baryons and anti-baryons at the QCD critical temperature $T_c$. For relativistic heavy ion collisions this scenario predicts that hadronization is followed by a brief expansion phase during which the equilibration rate is higher than the expansion rate, so that baryons and antibaryons reach chemical equilibrium before chemical freeze-out occurs.
Hadron resonance gas models provide a good description of the equation of state of quantum chromodynamics determined by lattice QCD calculations at temperatures $T \sim 100-155$ MeV. In this paper we investigate the effects of an exponentially increasing hadron mass spectrum (Hagedorn spectrum) on the azimuthal anisotropy of the rapidly expanding matter formed in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. If the temperature at which the conversion from fluid degrees of freedom to hadrons is sufficiently close to the Hagedorn temperature, the production of Hagedorn resonances suppresses the differ…
Using a Hagedorn resonance gas picture and quark-hadron duality we estimate the dilepton emission rate in the vicinity of the QCD deconfinement phase transition. The result is then used to calculate a dilepton spectrum in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. We show that multibody contributions taken into account in the Hagedorn resonance gas approach provide an enhancement of the production rate of massive dileptons as compared to the previously considered sources.
We discuss the production of light nuclei in heavy ion collisions within a multiple freezeout scenario. Thermal parameters extracted from the fits to the observed hadron yields are used to predict the multiplicities of light nuclei. Ratios of strange to non strange nuclei are found to be most sensitive to the details of the chemical freezeout. The well known disagreement between data of $^3_Λ\text{H/}^3\text{He}$ and $\overline{^3_Λ\text{H/}^3\text{He}}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV and models based on thermal as well as simple coalescence using a single chemical freezeout surface goes away when…
The study of the peculiarities of the distribution of secondary particles depending on the degree centrality and the degree of asymmetry of the interacting nuclei, is performed. The number of multicharged fragments of the projectile nucleus $N_f$ in interactions sharply asymmetric nuclei depends on the centrality degree of interaction. At that, the events with $N_f$ =1 are separated clearly in the distribution of the total charge of the fragments of a projectile nucleus $Q$ depending on the nature of the correlation of the number of fragments of the target nucleus and the multiplicity of secon…
We present results of simulations of light-nuclei production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions within updated Three-fluid Hydrodynamics-based Event Simulator Extended by UrQMD (Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics) final State interactions (THESEUS). The simulations were performed for Pb+Pb and Au+Au collisions in the collision energy range of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$ 6.4--19.6 GeV. The light-nuclei production is treated within the thermodynamical approach on equal basis with hadrons. The only additional parameter related to the light nuclei is the energy density of late freeze-out that im…
Following the idea of nucleon clustering and light-nuclei production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions close to the QCD critical-end point, we address the quantum effects affecting the interaction of several nucleons at finite temperature. For this aim we use the $K$-harmonics method to four-nucleon states ($α$ particle), and also develop a novel semiclassical "flucton" method at finite temperature, based on certain classical paths in Euclidean time, and apply it to two- and four-particle configurations. To study possible effects on the light-nuclei production close to the QCD critical poin…
We propose a new method, i.e., an exclusive quark combination model + an inclusive hadron recombination model, to study different production sources of light nuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We take deuterons and $^3$He produced in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV as examples to present contributions of different production sources by studying their rapidity densities $dN/dy$, yield ratios and transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra just after the hadronization as well as at the final kinetic freeze-out. We find that: only very small fractions of $d$ and $^3$He are created …
The photon-photon interaction in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collision is a source of the $(e^+,e^-)$ pairs. The photon-photon fusion leads the lepton creation in the broad configuration space around "collision" point. Those created close to heavy nuclei may undergo strong interaction with them. The impact parameter space distribution of electrons and positrons are calculated within the b-space EPA model of such collisions. The evolution due to the electromagnetic interaction of $(e^+,e^-)$ with nuclei is studied, and the distortion of rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are shown.…
Momentum correlation functions of light (anti)nuclei formed by the coalescence mechanism of (anti)nucleons are calculated for several central heavy-ion collision systems, namely $_{5}^{10}\textrm{B}+_{5}^{10}\textrm{B}$, $_{8}^{16}\textrm{O}+_{8}^{16}\textrm{O}$, $_{20}^{40}\textrm{Ca}+_{20}^{40}\textrm{Ca}$ as well as $_{79}^{197}\textrm{Au}+_{79}^{197}\textrm{Au}$ in different centralities at center of mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 39 GeV within the framework of A Multi-Phase Transport (AMPT) model complemented by the Lednick$\acute{y}$ and Lyuboshitz analytical method. Momentum correlation …
Heavy ion collisions pose interesting challenges to quantum chromodynamics, because they probe the parton structure of the incoming nuclei at very small longitudinal momentum fractions. Combined with the large size of nuclei, this may lead to the phenomenon of gluon saturation. The Color Glass Condensate is an effective QCD description that aims to cope with such a situation. In this talk, I show how one may study heavy ion collisions in this framework.
Based on an improved multiphase transport (AMPT) model, which gives a good description of proton production with a smooth quark matter to hadronic matter transition in relativistic heavy ion collisions, we study deuteron and triton production from the coalescence of nucleons at the kinetic freezeout of these collisions. For Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}$ from 7.7 GeV to 200 GeV available at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), we find that the yield ratio $N_\text{t}N_\text{p}/N_\text{d}^2$ of proton, deuteron\com{,} and triton is essentially a constant…
Using a transport model that includes a first-order chiral phase transition between the partonic and the hadronic matter, we study the development of density fluctuations in the matter produced in heavy ion collisions as it undergoes the phase transition, and their time evolution in later hadronic stage of the collisions. Using the coalescence model to describe the production of deuterons and tritons from nucleons at the kinetic freeze out, we find that the yield ratio $ N_\text{t}N_\text{p}/ N_\text{d}^2$, where $N_\text{p}$, $N_\text{d}$, and $N_\text{t}$ are, respectively, the proton, deute…
The production of light nuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is well described by both the thermal model, where light nuclei are in equilibrium with all other hadron species present in a fireball, and by the coalescence model, where light nuclei are formed due to final state interactions after the fireball decays. A method is proposed to falsify one of the models. We suggest to measure a hadron-deuteron correlation function which carries information about the source of the deuterons and allows one to determine whether a deuteron is directly emitted from the fireball or if it is formed a…
In peripheral high-energy heavy-ion collisions only parts of colliding nuclei interact leading to the production of a fireball. The remnants of such nuclei are called spectators. We estimated the excitation energy as a function of impact parameter. Their excitation energy is of the order of 100 MeV. The dynamical evolution of hot nuclei is described by solving a set of Langevin equations in four-dimensional collective coordinate space. The range of nuclear masses and excitation energies suits very well to ability of our model. Thus for the first time we investigate dynamically the fission and …
We present a new technique to calculate the cross-section for diffractive vector meson production and DVCS in electron-ion collisions based on the dipole model. The measurement of these processes can provide valuable information on non-linear QCD phenomena, such as gluon saturation, and is the the only known way to gain insight into the spatial distribution of gluons in nuclei. We present predictions of differential cross-section distribution $dσ/dQ^2$ and $dσ/dt$ for $J/ψ$ and $ϕ$ meson production for diffractive processes of heavy nuclei and demonstrate the feasibility of extracting the gluo…

We show how exclusive vector meson production off light ions can be used to probe the spatial distribution of small-$x$ gluons in the deuteron and $^3$He wave functions. In particular, we demonstrate how short range repulsive nucleon-nucleon interactions affect the predicted coherent $J/Ψ$ production spectra. Fluctuations of the nucleon substructure are shown to have a significant effect on the incoherent cross section above $|t|\gtrsim 0.2\,\mathrm{GeV}^2$. By explicitly performing the JIMWLK evolution, we predict the $x$-dependence of coherent and incoherent cross sections in the EIC energy …
We present results of a phase space coalescence approach within the UrQMD transport and -hybrid model for a very wide range of beam energies from SIS to LHC. The coalescence model is able to qualitatively describe the whole range of experimental data with a fixed set of parameters. Some systematic deviations are observed for very low beam energies where the role of feed down from heavier nuclei and multi-fragmentation becomes relevant. The coalescence results are mostly very close to the thermal model fits. However, both the coalescence approach as well as thermal fits are struggling to simult…
Using the methods introduced in a previous paper, we consider the dissociation of J/psi by the lowest-lying pseudoscalar and vector mesons in the hadronic fireball formed in heavy ion collisions, assumed to be a hadron gas at temperature T. Absorption by nuclear matter is accounted for as well. We compare with the S-U and Pb-Pb data presented by the NA50 Collaboration. From data at low centrality we find T=160-180 MeV, close to the predicted temperature of the transition to quark-gluon plasma and to the temperatures measured by hadron abundances. We extrapolate to higher centralities with the …
Quarkonium suppression in heavy ion collisions is a potential signature of the formation of the quark-gluon plasma. After a very brief review of the J/psi result at CERN, we restrict our discussion to the effects of the high-energy multiple scattering of the quark pair in the colliding nuclei.
Kinetic temperature and radial flow velocity estimation using identified hadrons and light (anti-)nuclei produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC
Future electron-ion colliders (eIC) will focus on the unitarity properties of deep inelastic scattering (DIS) in the limit of strong nuclear absorption. Strong nuclear shadowing and a large abundance of coherent diffraction are the most striking consequences of unitarity, and here we report quantitative predictions for these effects in the kinematical range of the planned eIC.
With the kinetic freeze-out nucleons and antinucleons obtained from the quark combination model, we study the production of light nuclei and antinuclei in the (anti-)nucleon coalescence mechanism in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We derive analytic formulas of the momentum distributions of different light nuclei and apply them to compute transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of (anti-)deuterons ($d$, $\bar d$) and (anti-)tritons ($t$, $\bar t$) in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 54.4 GeV. We find that the experimental data available for these $p_T$ spectra can be…
We present an update of the event generator based on the three-fluid dynamics (3FD), complemented by Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) for the late stage of the nuclear collision~-- the three-fluid Hydrodynamics-based Event Simulator Extended by UrQMD final State interactions (THESEUS). Two modifications are introduced. The THESEUS table of hadronic resonances is made consistent with that of the underlying 3FD model. The main modification is that the generator is extended to simulate the light-nuclei production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, on the equal basis with h…
We revisit the problem of the production of light atomic nuclei in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. While their production systematics is well produced by hadro-chemical freezeout at temperatures near the QCD pseudo-critical temperature, their small binding energies of a few MeV per nucleon suggest that they cannot survive as bound states under these conditions. Here, we adopt the concept of effective chemical potentials in the hadronic evolution from chemical to thermal freezeout (at typically $T_{\rm fo}$$\simeq$100\,MeV), which, despite frequent elastic rescatterings in hadronic matt…
We estimate the feeddown contributions from decays of unstable $A = 4$ and $A = 5$ nuclei to the final yields of protons, deuterons, tritons, $^3$He, and $^4$He produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} > 2.4$ GeV, using the statistical model. The feeddown contribution effects do not exceed 5% at LHC and top RHIC energies due to the large penalty factors involved, but are substantial at intermediate collision energies. We observe large feeddown contributions for tritons, $^3$He, and $^4$He at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} \lesssim 10$ GeV, where they may account for as much as 7…
The production of charmonia in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is formulated within the framework of a quantum kinetic theory simultaneously accounting for breakup and recombination processes. The survival probability of J/Psi mesons is evaluated for a Mott-Hagedorn resonance gas, whereby the pattern of anomalous J/Psi suppression at CERN-SPS can be explained by a strong coupling to open-charm states and their in-medium modification. Recent data for charmonium suppression from Au-Au collisions at RHIC are discussed.
Changes of hadronic properties in dense nuclear matter as predicted by theory have usually been investigated by means of relativistic heavy-ion reactions. In this talk I show that observable consequences of such changes can also be seen in more elementary reactions on nuclei. Particular emphasis is put on a discussion of photonuclear reactions; examples are the dilepton production at $\approx 1$ GeV and the hadron production in nuclei at 10 - 20 GeV photon energies. The observable effects are expected to be as large as in relativistic heavy-ion collisions and can be more directly related to th…
We propose to measure the yields of $^4{\rm He}$ and $^4{\rm Li}$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions to clarify a mechanism of light nuclei production. Since the masses of $^4{\rm He}$ and $^4{\rm Li}$ are almost equal, the yield of $^4{\rm Li}$ predicted by the thermal model is 5 times bigger than that of $^4{\rm He}$ which reflects the different numbers of internal degrees of freedom of the two nuclides. Their internal structure is, however, very different: the alpha particle is well bound and compact while $^4{\rm Li}$ is weakly bound and loose. Within the coalescence model the ratio of y…
Most atomic nuclei are deformed with a quadrupole shape described by its overall strength $β_2$ and triaxiality $γ$. The deformation can be accessed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions by measuring the collective flow response of the produced quark-gluon plasma to the eccentricity $\varepsilon_2$ and the density gradient $d_{\perp}$ in the initial state. Using analytical estimate and a Glauber model, I show that the variances, $\langle\varepsilon_2^2\rangle$ or $\langle(δd_{\perp}/d_{\perp})^2\rangle$, and skewnesses, $\langle\varepsilon_2^2δd_{\perp}/d_{\perp}\rangle$ or $\langle(δd_{\perp}/d…

From the analysis of light (anti)nuclei multiplicities that were measured recently by the ALICE collaboration in Pb+Pb collisions at the center-of-mass collision energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =2.76$ TeV there arose a highly non-trivial question about the excluded volume of composite particles. Surprisingly, the hadron resonance gas model (HRGM) is able to perfectly describe the light (anti)nuclei multiplicities under various assumptions. Thus, one can consider the (anti)nuclei with a vanishing hard-core radius (as the point-like particles) or with the hard-core radius of proton, but the fit quality is…

Based on the coalescence model for light nuclei production, we show that the yield ratio $\mathcal{O}_\text{p-d-t} = N_{^3\text{H}} N_p / N_\text{d}^2$ of $p$, d, and $^3$H in heavy-ion collisions is sensitive to the neutron relative density fluctuation $Δn= \langle (δn)^2\rangle/\langle n\rangle^2$ at kinetic freeze-out. From recent experimental data in central Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=6.3$~GeV, $7.6$~GeV, $8.8$~GeV, $12.3$~GeV and $17.3$~GeV measured by the NA49 Collaboration at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS), we find a possible non-monotonic behavior of $Δn$ as a function…
A data-driven idea is presented to test if light nuclei and hypernuclei obey the coalescence-inspired sum rule, i.e., to test if the flow of a light nucleus or hypernucleus is the summed flow of each of its constituents. Here, the mass difference and charge difference among the constituents of light nuclei and hypernuclei are treated appropriately. The idea is applied to the available data for $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 3$ GeV fixed-target Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), published by the STAR collaboration. It is found that the sum rule for light nuclei is approximately v…
We present a new approach for calculating electromagnetic excitation of nuclei as well as probabilities of emission and distributions of neutrons from decays of excited nuclear systems for ultrarelativistic, ultraperipheral heavy ion collisions. Excitation functions for $γ$ + Pb $\to$ Pb$^*$ are parametrized using physics-motivated components: excitation of giant resonances, quasi-deuteron absorption mechanism, excitation of nucleon resonances as well as high-energy dissociation of protons and neutrons. Neutron emission (up to 10 neutrons) from low-energy excitations of $^{208}$Pb is modelled …
The creation of loosely bound objects in heavy ion collisions, e.g. light clusters, near the phase transition temperature $\left(T_{\rm ch} \approx 155 \, \rm{MeV} \right)$ has been a puzzling observation that seems to be at odds with Big Bang nucleosynthesis suggesting that deuterons and other clusters are formed only below a temperature $T\approx 0.1-1 \, \text{MeV}$. We solve this puzzle by showing that the light cluster abundancies in heavy ion reactions stay approximately constant from chemical freeze-out to kinetic freeze-out. To this aim we develop an extensive network of coupled reacti…
Light nuclei and hyper-nuclei are produced in abundance in heavy-ion collisions. The production mechanism of these species in heavy-ion collisions still remains to be understood. In these proceedings, we report the transverse momentum and centrality dependence of elliptic flow ($v_2$) of $d$, $t$, and $^3\text{He}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 14.6, 19.6, 27, and 54.4 GeV. Mass number scaling of $v_2(p_T)$ of light nuclei is shown. We also report the first observation of hyper-nuclei $^{3}_Λ$H and $^{4}_Λ$H directed flow ($v_1$) in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 3 GeV mid-central (5-40\%) Au+Au…
We consider $J/ψ$ photoproduction in ion--ion ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) at the LHC and RHIC in the coherent and incoherent quasielastic channels with and without accompanying forward neutron emission and analyze the role of nuclear gluon shadowing at small $x$, $x=10^{-4}-10^{-2}$, in these processes. We find that despite the good agreement between large nuclear gluon shadowing and the ALICE data in the coherent channel, in the incoherent channel, the leading twist approximation predicts the amount of nuclear suppression which is by approximately a factor of $1.5$ exceeds that seen in …
The future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is a proposed new facility to collide high-energy electrons with beams of polarized protons/light nuclei and unpolarized nuclei. We overview the goals of the project and key measurements at the EIC. We also briefly comment on recent developments of the project.
The formation probability of quark-gluon plasma in relativistic heavy ion collisions for colliding nuclei of different sizes is investigated in the framework of a bond percolation model. The results show that nuclei with sizes smaller than that of Pb or Au produce QGP with probability less than unity even at very high collision energies. The dependence of the QGP-formation probability on different nuclear sizes and on various centralities of Au-Au collision are presented.
Using the nucleon coalescence model based on kinetic freeze-out nucleons from the 3D MUSIC+UrQMD and the 2D VISHNU hybrid model with a crossover equation of state, we study the multiplicity dependence of deuteron ($d$) and triton ($t$) production from central to peripheral Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=$ 7.7, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4 and 200 GeV and Pb+Pb at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=2.76$ TeV, respectively. It is found that the ratio $N_t N_p/N_d^2$ of the proton yield $N_p$, deuteron yield $N_d$ and triton yield $N_t$ exhibits a scaling behavior in its multiplicity dependence, i.e., …
This talk discusses some recent studies of gluon saturation in nuclei. We stress the connection between the initial condition in heavy ion collisions and observables in deep inelastic scattering (DIS). The dominant degree of freedom in the small x nuclear wavefunction is a nonperturbatively strong classical gluon field, which determines the initial condition for the glasma fields in the initial stages of a heavy ion collision. A correlator of Wilson lines from the same classical fields, known as the dipole cross section, can be used to compute many inclusive and exclusive observables in DIS.
This work establishes a deep connection between two seemingly distant branches of nuclear physics: nuclear structure and relativistic heavy-ion collisions. At the heart of this connection is the recent discovery made at particle colliders that the elliptic flow of outgoing hadrons in central nucleus-nucleus collisions is strongly impacted by the quadrupole deformation of the colliding nuclear species. I review the physics of the soft sector of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, and I explain that the interpretation of elliptic flow data in central $^{197}$Au+$^{197}$Au, $^{238}$U+$^{238}$U, an…
In the framework of perturbative QCD, double inclusive cross sections for high $p_t$ parton production in nucleus-nucleus collisions are computed with multiple rescattering taken into account. The induced long-range correlations between numbers of jets at forward and backward rapidities are found to reach $10÷20$% for light nuclei at $\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV/c and to be suppressed for heavy nuclei and LHC energies.
By using the theoretical approaches describing well the available data on $t$-integrated coherent photoproduction of light and heavy vector mesons in Pb-Pb ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Run 1, we calculate the momentum transfer distributions for this process for $ρ$ and $J/ψ$ vector mesons in the kinematics of Run 2 at the LHC. We demonstrate that nuclear shadowing not only suppresses the absolute value of the cross sections, but also shifts the momentum transfer distributions toward smaller values of the momentum transfer $|t|$. This result can be int…
