We demonstrate machine-learning enabled large-scale dynamical simulations of electronic phase separation in double-exchange system. This model, also known as the ferromagnetic Kondo lattice model, is believed to be relevant for the colossal magnetoresistance phenomenon. Real-space simulations of such inhomogeneous states with exchange forces computed from the electron Hamiltonian can be prohibitively expensive for large systems. Here we show that linear-scaling exchange field computation can be achieved using neural networks trained by datasets from exact calculation on small lattices. Our Landau-Lifshitz dynamics simulations based on machine-learning potentials nicely reproduce not only the nonequilibrium relaxation process, but also correlation functions that agree quantitatively with exact simulations. Our work paves the way for large-scale dynamical simulations of correlated electron systems using machine-learning models.
Phase separation plays a central role in the emergence of novel functionalities of correlated electron materials. The structure of the mixed-phase states depends strongly on the nonequilibrium phase-separation dynamics, which has so far yet to be systematically investigated, especially on the theoretical side. With the aid of modern machine learning methods, we demonstrate the first-ever large-scale kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of the phase separation process for the Falicov-Kimball model, which is one of the canonical strongly correlated electron systems. We uncover an unusual phase-separa…
We present a Gutzwiller von Neumann dynamics (GvND) method for simulating equilibrium and nonequilibrium phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems. Our approach is a real-space formulation of the time-dependent Gutzwiller approximation method. Applying the GvND method to simulate interaction quenches in the Peierls-Hubbard model, we demonstrate the amplification of initial inhomogeneities, which in turn results in the collapse of quench-induced synchronized oscillation. Moreover, we find a dynamical phase transition separating two quasi-stationary regimes with rather distinct spatial d…
Phase Separation in the Two-Dimensional Systems of Strongly Correlated electrons; the Role of Spin Singlet Pairs on Hole Pairing Contribution to Hole-rich Phase
We relate the phase separation observed in many crystals with pronounced electron correlations to the regions of negative electron compressibility. They were found in several models describing strong electron correlations. At low temperatures, these regions arise near chemical potentials corresponding to the change of the ground state in the site Hamiltonian. The negative electron compressibility leads to the separation of the system into electron-rich and electron-poor domains. The energy released in the course of this separation is absorbed by phonons. Another role of phonons is to give a de…
The studies of high-quality single-domain crystals of YbB12 were carried out by the precise x-ray diffraction technique in combination with the low temperature polarized THz - infrared spectroscopy and accurate magnetotransport measurements. It has been shown for the first time that this archetypal strongly correlated system with a metal-insulator transition to a mysterious dielectric ground state with a metal Fermi surface (Science 362, 65-69 (2018) and ibid 362, 32-33 (2018)) is actually a heterogeneous compound in the regime of electronic phase separation. Changes in the configuration of th…
Collective orders and photo-induced phase transitions in quantum matter can evolve on timescales which are orders of magnitude slower than the femtosecond processes related to electronic motion in the solid. Quantum Boltzmann equations can potentially resolve this separation of timescales, but are often constructed within a perturbative framework. Here we derive a quantum Boltzmann equation which only assumes a separation of timescales (taken into account through the gradient approximation for convolutions in time), but is based on a non-perturbative scattering integral, and makes no assumptio…

The effects associated with exciton Bose condensate formation in strongly correlated spin crossover systems are considered within the effective Hamiltonian obtained from the two-orbital Hubbard-Kanamori model. The collective excitations spectrum at various points of the temperature-crystal field phase diagram is calculated. The role of the electron-phonon interaction is discussed. The exciton and magnetic order photoenhancement (induction) in strongly correlated spin crossover systems a new mechanism based on the cooperative effect of electron-phonon and interatomic exchange interactions and t…
Strongly correlated Kagome magnets are promising candidates for achieving controllable topological devices owing to the rich interplay between inherent Dirac fermions and correlation-driven magnetism. Here we report tunable local magnetism and its intriguing control of topological electronic response near room temperature in the Kagome magnet Fe3Sn2 using small angle neutron scattering, muon spin rotation, and magnetoresistivity measurement techniques. The average bulk spin direction and magnetic domain texture can be tuned effectively by small magnetic fields. Magnetoresistivity, in response,…
