We present a characterization of $2$-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds with constant Ricci scalar curvature. It is well known that every $2$-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds is conformally flat, so we rewrite the Ricci scalar curvature in terms of the conformal factor and we study the solutions of the corresponding differential equations. Several remarkable examples are provided.
We study the Ricci flow for the Lorentzian Einstein-Hilbert action. We show that Einstein gravity emerges as a fixed point of the Einstein-Ricci flow equations and derive a renormalization group flow in Euclidean signature. By considering linearizations near the fixed point, the dynamics of the metric reveal that curvature deformations flow according to a forward heat equation with the stress-energy tensor acting as a source.
Conformal Ricci solitons are self similar solutions of the conformal Ricci flow equation. This paper deals with the study of conformal Ricci solitons within the framework of warped product manifolds which extends the notion of usual Riemannian product manifolds. First, we prove that if a warped product manifold admits conformal Ricci soliton then the base and the fiber also share the same property. In the next section the characterization of conformal Ricci solitons on warped product manifolds in terms of Killing and conformal vector fields has been studied. Next, we prove that a warped produc…
The object of the present paper is to characterize the class of Kenmotsu manifolds which admits conformal $η$-Ricci soliton. Here, we have investigated the nature of the conformal $η$-Ricci soliton within the framework of Kenmotsu manifolds. It is shown that an $η$-Einstein Kenmotsu manifold admitting conformal $η$-Ricci soliton is an Einstein one. Moving further, we have considered gradient conformal $η$-Ricci soliton on Kenmotsu manifold and established a relation between the potential vector field and the Reeb vector field. Next, it is proved that under certain condition, a conformal $η$-Ri…
We reexamine two-dimensional Lorentzian conformal field theory using the formalism previously developed in a study of sine-square deformation of Euclidean conformal field theory. We construct three types of Virasoro algebra. One of them reproduces the result by Lüscher and Mack, while another type exhibits the divergence in the central charge term. The other leads the continuous spectrum and contains no closed time-like curve in the system.
In this paper, we characterize the potential function $f$ of the almost conformal gradient Ricci soliton on a Sasakian manifold in terms of the non-dynamical scalar field $p$ and deduce the necessary condition for the potential function $f$ to be constant. Furthermore, a relation between $λ$ and the potential function $f$ has been established. Finally, we prove a sufficient condition for an almost conformal Ricci soliton to be an almost conformal gradient Ricci soliton and also a characterization of the soliton in terms of shrinking, steady or expanding has been done.
We propose several different types of construction principles for new classes of Toda field theories based on root systems defined on Lorentzian lattices. In analogy to conformal and affine Toda theories based on root systems of semi-simple Lie algebras, also their Lorentzian extensions come about in conformal and massive variants. We carry out the Painlevé integrability test for the proposed theories, finding in general only one integer valued resonance corresponding to the energy-momentum tensor. Thus most of the Lorentzian Toda field theories are not integrable, as the remaining resonances,…
