We construct an ${\cal N}{=}\,2$ supersymmetric extension of $n$-particle Ruijsenaars-Schneider models. The guiding feature is a deformation of the phase space. The supercharges have a "free" form linear in the fermions but produce an interacting four-fermion Hamiltonian. A field-dependent unitary transformation maps to standard fermions obeying conventional Poisson brackets. In this frame, the supercharges and Hamiltonian have long "fermionic tails". We also comment on previous attempts in this direction.
The Ruijsenaars-Schneider models are conventionally regarded as relativistic generalizations of the Calogero integrable systems. Surprisingly enough, their supersymmetric generalizations escaped attention. In this work, N=2 supersymmetric extensions of the rational and hyperbolic Ruijsenaars-Schneider three-body models are constructed within the framework of the Hamiltonian formalism. It is also known that the rational model can be described by the geodesic equations associated with a metric connection. We demonstrate that the hyperbolic systems are linked to non-metric connections.
We present a very simple form of the supercharges and the Hamiltonian of ${\cal N} {=}\,2$ supersymmetric extension of $n$-particle Ruijsenaars--Schneider models for three cases of the interaction: $1/(x_i-x_j)$, $1/tan(x_i-x_j)$, $1/tanh(x_i-x_j)$. The long "fermionic tails" of the supercharges and Hamiltonian rolled up in the simple rational functions depending on fermionic bilinears.
In this paper, we construct a quadratic r-matrix structure for the classical rational BC(n) Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen system with the maximal number of three independent coupling parameters. As a byproduct, we provide a Lax representation of the dynamics as well.
The rational and hyperbolic Ruijsenaars-Schneider models and their non-relativistic limits are maximally superintegrable since they admit action variables with globally well-defined canonical conjugates. In the case of the rational Ruijsenaars-Schneider model we present an alternative proof of the superintegrability by explicitly exhibiting extra conserved quantities relying on a generalization of the construction of Wojciechowski for the rational Calogero model.
An integrable supersymmetric generalization of the trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider model is presented whose symmetry algebra includes the super Poincaré algebra. Moreover, its Hamiltonian is showed to be diagonalized by the recently introduced Macdonald superpolynomials. Somewhat surprisingly, the consistency of the scalar product forces the discreteness of the Hilbert space.
We discuss the correspondence between models solved by Bethe ansatz and classical integrable systems of Calogero type. We illustrate the correspondence by the simplest example of the inhomogeneous asymmetric 6-vertex model parametrized by trigonometric (hyperbolic) functions.
We examine the Hamiltonian structures of some Calogero-Moser and Ruijsenaars-Schneider N-body integrable models. We propose explicit formulations of the bihamiltonian structures for the discrete models, and field-theoretical realizations of these structures. We discuss the relevance of these realizations as collective-field theory for the discrete models.
In a symplectic reduction framework we construct action-angle systems of canonical coordinates for both the hyperbolic Sutherland and the rational Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen integrable models associated with the C(n) root system. The presented dual reduction picture permits us to establish the action-angle duality between these many-particle systems.
In this paper, we construct canonical action-angle variables for both the hyperbolic BC(n) Sutherland and the rational BC(n) Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen models with three independent coupling constants. As a byproduct of our symplectic reduction approach, we establish the action-angle duality between these many-particle systems. The presented dual reduction picture builds upon the construction of a Lax matrix for the BC(n)-type rational Ruijsennars-Schneider-van Diejen model.

In this paper, we investigate the scattering properties of the hyperbolic BC(n) Sutherland and the rational BC(n) Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen many-particle systems with three independent coupling constants. Utilizing the recently established action-angle duality between these classical integrable models, we construct their wave and scattering maps. In particular, we prove that for both particle systems the scattering map has a factorized form.
Ruijsenaars-Schneider models associated with $A_{n-1}$ root system with a discrete coupling constant are studied. The eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian are givein in terms of the Bethe ansatz formulas. Taking the "non-relativistic" limit, we obtain the spectrum of the corresponding Calogero-Moser systems in the third formulas of Felder et al [20].
We conjecture the quantum analogue of the classical trace formulae for the integrals of motion of the quantum hyperbolic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model. This is done by departing from the classical construction where the corresponding model is obtained from the Heisenberg double by the Poisson reduction procedure. We also discuss some algebraic structures associated to the Lax matrix in the classical and quantum theory which arise upon introduction of the spectral parameter.
We discuss a self-dual form or the Bäcklund transformations for the continuous (in time variable) ${\rm gl}_N$ Ruijsenaars-Schneider model. It is based on the first order equations in $N+M$ complex variables which include $N$ positions of particles and $M$ dual variables. The latter satisfy equations of motion of the ${\rm gl}_M$ Ruijsenaars-Schneider model. In the elliptic case it holds $M=N$ while for the rational and trigonometric models $M$ is not necessarily equal to $N$. Our consideration is similar to the previously obtained results for the Calogero-Moser models which are recovered in t…
We propose and test exact quantization conditions for the $N$-particle quantum elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider integrable system, as well as its Calogero-Moser limit, based on the conjectural correspondence to the five-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 1$ $SU(N)$ gauge theory in the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit. We discuss two natural sets of quantization conditions, related by the electro-magnetic duality, and the importance of non-perturbative corrections in the Planck constant. We also comment on the eigenfunction problem, by reinterpreting the Separation of Variables approach in gauge theory terms.
The equivalence of two complete sets of Poisson commuting Hamiltonians of the (super)integrable rational BC(n) Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen system is established. Specifically, the commuting Hamiltonians constructed by van Diejen are shown to be linear combinations of the Hamiltonians generated by the characteristic polynomial of the Lax matrix obtained recently by Pusztai, and the explicit formula of this invertible linear transformation is found.
The relationship (resemblance and/or contrast) between quantum and classical integrability in Ruijsenaars-Schneider systems, which are one parameter deformation of Calogero-Moser systems, is addressed. Many remarkable properties of classical Calogero and Sutherland systems (based on any root system) at equilibrium are reported in a previous paper (Corrigan-Sasaki). For example, the minimum energies, frequencies of small oscillations and the eigenvalues of Lax pair matrices at equilibrium are all "integer valued". In this paper we report that similar features and results hold for the Ruijsenaar…
We present a direct construction of compact real forms of the trigonometric and elliptic $n$-particle Ruijsenaars-Schneider systems whose completed center-of-mass phase space is the complex projective space $\mathbb{CP}^{n-1}$ with the Fubini-Study symplectic structure. These systems are labelled by an integer $p\in\{1,\dots,n-1\}$ relative prime to $n$ and a coupling parameter $y$ varying in a certain punctured interval around $pπ/n$. Our work extends Ruijsenaars's pioneering study of compactifications that imposed the restriction $0<y<π/n$, and also builds on an earlier derivation of more ge…
Integrable deformations of the hyperbolic and trigonometric ${\mathrm{BC}}_n$ Sutherland models were recently derived via Hamiltonian reduction of certain free systems on the Heisenberg doubles of ${\mathrm{SU}}(n,n)$ and ${\mathrm{SU}}(2n)$, respectively. As a step towards constructing action-angle variables for these models, we here apply the same reduction to a different free system on the double of ${\mathrm{SU}}(2n)$ and thereby obtain a novel integrable many-body model of Ruijsenaars--Schneider--van Diejen type that is in action-angle duality with the respective deformed Sutherland model…
The equilibrium positions of the multi-particle classical Calogero-Sutherland-Moser (CSM) systems with rational/trigonometric potentials associated with the classical root systems are described by the classical orthogonal polynomials; the Hermite, Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials. The eigenfunctions of the corresponding single-particle quantum CSM systems are also expressed in terms of the same orthogonal polynomials. We show that this interesting property is inherited by the Ruijsenaars-Schneider-van Diejen (RSvD) systems, which are integrable deformation of the CSM systems; the equilibrium po…
A simple derivation of the spectra of the action-variables of the quantized compactified Ruijsenaars-Schneider system is presented. The spectra are obtained by combining Kahler quantization with the identification of the classical action-variables as a standard toric moment map on the complex projective space. The result is consistent with the Schrodinger quantization of the system worked out previously by van Diejen and Vinet.
It is shown that the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model can be obtained from the cotangent bundle over the two-dimensional current group by means of the Hamiltonian reduction procedure.
We describe the correspondence of the Matsuo-Cherednik type between the quantum $n$-body Ruijsenaars-Schneider model and the quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations related to supergroup $GL(N|M)$. The spectrum of the Ruijsenaars-Schneider Hamiltonians is shown to be independent of the ${\mathbb Z}_2$-grading for a fixed value of $N+M$, so that $N+M+1$ different qKZ systems of equations lead to the same $n$-body quantum problem. The obtained results can be viewed as a quantization of the previously described quantum-classical correspondence between the classical $n$-body Ruijsenaars-Schneider…
We construct the classical r-matrix structure for the Lax formulation of BC_N Ruijsenaars-Schneider systems proposed in hep-th 0006004. The r-matrix structure takes a quadratic form similar to the A_N Ruijsenaars-Schneider Poisson bracket behavior, although the dynamical dependence is more complicated. Commuting Hamiltonians stemming from the BC_N Ruijsenaars-Schneider Lax matrix are shown to be linear combinations of particular Koornwinder-van Diejen ``external fields'' Ruijsenaars-Schneider models, for specific values of the exponential one-body couplings. Uniqueness of such commuting Hamilt…
We study the $C_{n}$ and $BC_{n}$ Ruijsenaars-Schneider(RS) models with interaction potential of trigonometric and rational types. The Lax pairs for these models are constructed and the involutive Hamiltonians are also given. Taking nonrelativistic limit, we also obtain the Lax pairs for the corresponding Calogero-Moser systems.
The Hamiltonian structure of spin generalization of the rational Ruijsenaars-Schneider model is found by using the Hamiltonian reduction technique. It is shown that the model possesses the current algebra symmetry. The possibility of generalizing the found Poisson structure to the trigonometric case is discussed and degeneration to the Euler-Calogero-Moser system is examined.
We derive a Hamiltonian structure for the $N$-particle hyperbolic spin Ruijsenaars-Schneider model by means of Poisson reduction of a suitable initial phase space. This phase space is realised as the direct product of the Heisenberg double of a factorisable Lie group with another symplectic manifold that is a certain deformation of the standard canonical relations for $N\ell$ conjugate pairs of dynamical variables. We show that the model enjoys the Poisson-Lie symmetry of the spin group ${\rm GL}_{\ell}({\mathbb C})$ which explains its superintegrability. Our results are obtained in the formal…
We study the C_2 Ruijsenaars-Schneider(RS) model with interaction potential of trigonometric type. The Lax pairs for the model with and without spectral parameter are constructed. Also given are the involutive Hamiltonians for the system. Taking nonrelativistic limit, we obtain the Lax pair of C_2 Calogero-Moser model.
It is shown that the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model can be obtained from the affine Heisenberg Double by means of the Poisson reduction procedure. The dynamical $r$-matrix naturally appears in the construction.
Integrable discretizations are introduced for the rational and hyperbolic spin Ruijsenaars--Schneider models. These discrete dynamical systems are demonstrated to belong to the same integrable hierarchies as their continuous--time counterparts. Explicit solutions are obtained for arbitrary flows of the hierarchies, including the discrete time ones.
A general algorithm to construct particle trajectories in 1+1 dimensional canonical relativistic models is presented. The method is a generalization of the construction used in Ruijsenaars-Schneider models and provides a simple proof of the fact that the latter satisfies the world-line conditions granting proper physical Poincare invariance. The 2-particle case for the rational Ruijsenaars-Schneider model is worked out explicitly. It is shown that the particle coordinates do not Poisson commute, as required by the no-interaction theorem of Currie, Jordan and Sudarshan.
The trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider model is diagonalized by means of the Macdonald symmetric functions. We evaluate the dynamical density-density correlation function and the one-particle retarded Green function as well as their thermodynamic limit. Based on these results and finite-size scaling analysis, we show that the low-energy behavior of the model is described by the $C=1$ Gaussian conformal field theory under a new fractional selection rule for the quantum numbers labeling the critical exponents.
From the dynamical twisting of the classical r-matrix, we obtain a new Lax operator for the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model (cf. Ruijsenaars'). The corresponding r-matrix is shown to be the classical $Z_n$-symmetric elliptic r-matrix, which is the same as that obtained in the study of the nonrelativistic version---the $A_{n-1}$ Calogero-Moser model.
The Lax pair of the Ruijsenaars-Schneider model with interaction potential of trigonometric type based on Dn Lie algebra is presented. We give a general form for the Lax pair and prove partial results for small n. Liouville integrability of the corresponding system follows a series of involutive Hamiltonians generated by the characteristic polynomial of the Lax matrix. The rational case appears as a natural degeneration and the nonrelativistic limit exactly leads to the well-known Calogero-Moser system associated with Dn Lie algebra.
The relationship between Elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider (RS) and Calogero-Moser (CM) models with Sklyanin algebra is presented. Lax pair representations of the Elliptic RS and CM are reviewed. For n=2 case, the eigenvalue and eigenfunction for Lame equation are found by using the result of the Bethe ansatz method.
We study the elliptic C_n and BC_n Ruijsenaars-Schneider models which is elliptic generalization of system given in hep-th/0006004. The Lax pairs for these models are constructed by Hamiltonian reduction technology. We show that the spectral curves can be parameterized by the involutive integrals of motion for these models. Taking nonrelativistic limit and scaling limit, we verify that they lead to the systems corresponding to Calogero-Moser and Toda types.
The compactification of five dimensional N=2 SUSY Yang-Mills (YM) theory onto a circle provides a four dimensional YM model with N=4 SUSY. This supersymmetry can be broken down to N=2 if non-trivial boundary conditions in the compact dimension, ϕ(x_5 +R) = e^{2πiε}ϕ(x_5), are imposed on half of the fields. This two-parameter (R,ε) family of compactifications includes as particular limits most of the previously studied four dimensional N=2 SUSY YM models with supermultiplets in the adjoint representation of the gauge group. The finite-dimensional integrable system associated to these theories v…
We seek to clarify some of the physical aspects of the Ruijsenaars-Schneider models. This important class of models was presented as a relativistic generalisation of the Calogero-Moser models but, as we shall argue, this description is misleading. It is far better to simply view the models as a one-parameter generalisation of Calogero-Moser models. By viewing the models as describing certain eigenvalue motions we can appreciate the generic nature of the models.
We demonstrate that in a certain gauge the Lax matrices of the rational and hyperbolic Ruijsenaars--Schneider models have a quadratic $r$-matrix Poisson bracket which is an exact quadratization of the linear $r$--matrix Poisson bracket of the Calogero--Moser models. This phenomenon is explained by a geometric derivation of Lax equations for arbitrary flows of both hierarchies, which turn out to be governed by the same dynamical $R$--operator.
The problem of finding most general form of the classical integrable relativistic models of many-body interaction of the $BC_{n}$ type is considered. In the simplest nontrivial case of $n=2$,the extra integral of motion is presented in explicit form within the ansatz similar to the nonrelativistic Calogero-Moser models. The resulting Hamiltonian has been found by solving the set of two functional equations.
We present a new case of duality between integrable many-body systems, where two systems live on the action-angle phase spaces of each other in such a way that the action variables of each system serve as the particle positions of the other one. Our investigation utilizes an idea that was exploited previously to provide group-theoretic interpretation for several dualities discovered originally by Ruijsenaars. In the group-theoretic framework one applies Hamiltonian reduction to two Abelian Poisson algebras of invariants on a higher dimensional phase space and identifies their reductions as act…
This thesis presents our results on Liouville integrable systems of Calogero-Ruijsenaars type: 1. We prove an explicit formula providing canonical spectral coordinates for the rational Calogero-Moser system. 2. We explore action-angle duality for the trigonometric BC(n) Sutherland system using Hamiltonian reduction. 3. We derive a Poisson-Lie deformation of the trigonometric BC(n) Sutherland system using Hamiltonian reduction. 4. We construct a Lax pair for the hyperbolic Ruijsenaars-Schneider system with two couplings. 5. We present an explicit construction of compactified trigonometric and e…
The reduction of the quasi-Hamiltonian double of ${\mathrm{SU}}(n)$ that has been shown to underlie Ruijsenaars' compactified trigonometric $n$-body system is studied in its natural generality. The constraints contain a parameter $y$, restricted in previous works to $0<y < π/n$ because Ruijsenaars' original compactification relies on an equivalent condition. It is found that allowing generic $0<y<π/2$ results in the appearance of new self-dual compact forms, of two qualitatively different types depending on the value of $y$. The type (i) cases are similar to the standard case in that the reduc…
The Delzant theorem of symplectic topology is used to derive the completely integrable compactified Ruijsenaars-Schneider III(b) system from a quasi-Hamiltonian reduction of the internally fused double SU(n) x SU(n). In particular, the reduced spectral functions depending respectively on the first and second SU(n) factor of the double engender two toric moment maps on the III(b) phase space CP(n-1) that play the roles of action-variables and particle-positions. A suitable central extension of the SL(2,Z) mapping class group of the torus with one boundary component is shown to act on the quasi-…
It is shown that the classical L-operator algebra of the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model can be realized as a subalgebra of the algebra of functions on the cotangent bundle over the centrally extended current group in two dimensions. It is governed by two dynamical r and $\bar{r}$-matrices satisfying a closed system of equations. The corresponding quantum R and $\overline{R}$-matrices are found as solutions to quantum analogs of these equations. We present the quantum L-operator algebra and show that the system of equations on R and $\overline{R}$ arises as the compatibility condition for…
