Experiments with paramagnetic ground or metastable excited states of molecules (ThO, HfF$^+$, YbF, YbOH, BaF, PbO, etc.) provide strong constraints on electron electric dipole moment (EDM) and coupling constant $C_{SP}$ of contact semileptonic interaction. We compute new contributions to $C_{SP}$ arising from the nucleon EDMs due to combined electric and magnetic electron-nucleon interaction. This allows us to improve limits from the experiments with paramagnetic molecules on the $CP$-violating parameters, such as the proton EDM, $|d_p|< 1.1\times 10^{-23} e\cdot $cm, the QCD vacuum angle, $|\bar θ|<1.4\times 10^{-8}$, as well as the quark chromo-EDMs and $π$-meson-nucleon couplings. Our results may also be used to search for the axion dark matter which produces oscillating $\barθ$.
Experiments searching for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron $d_e$ utilise atomic/molecular states with one or more uncompensated electron spins, and these paramagnetic systems have recently achieved remarkable sensitivity to $d_e$. If the source of $CP$ violation resides entirely in the hadronic sector, the two-photon exchange processes between electrons and the nucleus induce $CP$-odd semileptonic interactions, parametrised by the Wilson coefficient $C_{SP}$, and provide the dominant source of EDMs in paramagnetic systems instead of $d_e$. We evaluate the $C_{SP}$ coefficients …
The electric dipole moment (EDM) of paramagnetic atoms is sensitive to the intrinsic EDM contribution from that of its constituent electrons and a scalar--pseudo-scalar (S-PS) electron-nucleus interactions. The electron EDM and the S-PS EDM contribution to atomic EDM scales as Z^3. Thus, the heavy paramagnetic atomic systems will exhibit large enhancement factors. However, the nature of the coupling is so small that it becomes an interest of high precision atomic experiments. In this work, we have computed the EDM enhancement factors of the ground states of Rb and Cs due to both the electron E…
Standard Model $CP$ violation associated with the phase of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix is known to give small answers for the EDM observables. Moreover, predictions for the EDMs of neutrons and diamagnetic atoms suffer from considerable uncertainties. We point out that the $CP$-violating observables associated with the electron spin (paramagnetic EDMs) are dominated by the combination of the electroweak penguin diagrams and $ΔI =1/2$ weak transitions in the baryon sector, and are calculable within chiral perturbation theory. The predicted size of the semileptonic operator…
The existence of permanent electric dipole moments (EDMs) and magnetic quadrupole moments (MQMs) violate both time reversal invariance ($T$) and parity ($P$). Following the $CPT$ theorem they also violate combined $CP$ symmetry. Nuclear EDM are completely screened in atoms and molecules while interaction between electrons and MQM creates atomic and molecular EDM which can be measured and used to test CP-violation theories. Nuclear MQM are produced by the nucleon-nucleon $T,P$-odd interaction and by nucleon EDM. In this work we study the effect of enhancement of the nuclear MQM due to the nucle…
We study one-loop contributions to the fermion electric dipole moments in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with explicit R-parity violating interactions. We obtain new individual bounds on R-parity violating Yukawa couplings and put more stringent limits on certain parameters than those obtained previously.
The possibility to measure an electric dipole moment (EDM) of nuclei in the range $10^{-27} ÷10^{-32}$ $e \cdot cm$ in experiments for search of time-reversal violating generation of magnetic and electric fields is discussed.
In the supersymmetric model with local gauged baryon and lepton numbers(BLMSSM), the CP violating effects are considered to study the lepton electric dipole moment(EDM). The CP violating phases in BLMSSM are more than those in the standard model(SM) and can give large contributions. The analysis of the EDMs for the leptons $e,μ, τ$ is shown in this work. It is in favour of exploring the source of CP violation and probing the physics beyond SM.
In the context of an atom endowed with nuclear electric dipole moment (EDM), we consider the effects on the Schiff moment of $CPT$-even Lorentz-violating (LV) terms that modify the Coulomb potential. First, we study the modifications on the Schiff moment when the nucleus interacts with the electronic cloud by means of a Coulomb potential altered only by the $P$-even LV components. Next, by supposing the existence of an additional intrinsic LV EDM generated by other LV sources, we assess the corrections to the Schiff moment when the interaction nucleus-electrons runs mediated by a Coulomb poten…
We analyze contributions to the electric dipole (EDM) and Schiff (SFM) moments of deuteron induced by the CP-violating three-pseudoscalar meson couplings using phenomenological Lagrangian approach involving nucleons and pseudoscalar mesons $P=π, K, η, η'$. Deuteron is considered as a proton-neutron bound state and its properties are defined by one- and two-body forces. One-body forces correspond to a picture there proton and neutron are quasi free constituents of deuteron and their contribution to the deuteron EDM (dEDM) is simply the sum of proton and neutron EDMs. Two-body forces in deuteron…
An analysis of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron and of the leptons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with the most general allowed set of CP violating phases without generational mixing is given. The analysis includes the contributions from the gluino, the chargino and the neutralino exchanges to the electric dipole operator, the chromoelectic dipole operator, and the CP violating purely gluonic dimension six operator. It is found that the EDMs depend only on certain combination of the CP phases. The independent set of such phases is classified. The analysis of…
Electric dipole moments (edms) of bound states that arise from the constituents having edms are studied with field-theoretic techniques. The systems treated are the neutron and a set of paramagnetic atoms. In the latter case it is well known that the atomic edm differs greatly from the electron edm when the internal electric fields of the atom are taken into account. In the nonrelativistic limit these fields lead to a complete suppression, but for heavy atoms large enhancement factors are present. A general bound-state field theory approach applicable to both the neutron and paramagnetic atoms…
We establish a link between an angle of the neutron polarization rotation in a crystal diffraction experiment and constants of the P-,T- violating interactions. The consideration applies to the energy range of thermal and resonance neutrons.
CP violating interactions are required to realize the matter abundance of our Universe. It is however known that the standard model of particle physics does not contain sufficient CP violation. The electric dipole moment (EDM) of atomic systems is a very sensitive experimental probe of CP violation beyond the standard model, and it is very actively studied in experiments. The atomic EDM has a significant sensitivity to hadronic CP violation, but its quantification has for long been obstructed by the nonperturbative physics of quantum chromodynamics. Quite recently, the contribution of the Wein…
We demonstrate that electron electric dipole moment experiments with molecules in paramagnetic state are sensitive to $P,T$-violating nuclear forces and other $CP$-violating parameters in the hadronic sector. These experiments, in particular, measure the coupling constant $C_{SP}$ of the $CP$-odd contact semileptonic interaction. We establish relations between $C_{SP}$ and different $CP$-violating hadronic parameters including strength constants of the $CP$-odd nuclear potentials, $CP$-odd pion-nucleon interactions, quark-chromo EDM and QCD vacuum angle. These relations allow us to find limits…
The electric dipole moment (EDM) of an atom could arise also from $P$-odd and $T$-odd electron-nucleon couplings. In this work we investigate a general class of dimension-$6$ electron-nucleon ($e$-$N$) nonminimal interactions mediated by Lorentz-violating (LV) tensors of rank ranging from $1$ to $4$. The possible couplings are listed as well as their behavior under $C$, $P$ and $T$, allowing us to select the couplings compatible with EDM physics. The unsuppressed contributions of these couplings to the atom's Hamiltonian can be read as EDM-equivalent. The LV coefficients' magnitudes are limite…
We derive indirect limits on the charm and bottom quark electric dipole moments (EDMs) from paramagnetic AMO and neutron EDM experiments. The charm and bottom quark EDMs generate $CP$-odd photon-gluon operators and light quark EDMs at the $c$- and $b$-quark mass thresholds. These $CP$-odd operators induce the $CP$-odd semi-leptonic operator $C_S$ and the neutron EDM below the QCD scale that are probed by the paramagnetic and neutron EDM experiments, respectively. The bound from $C_S$ is $\vert d_c \vert < 1.3\times 10^{-20}\,e\,\mathrm{cm}$ for the charm quark and $\vert d_b \vert < 7.6\times …
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) features extra new sources for CP violation. In contrast to the MSSM CP violation can already occur at tree level in the Higgs sector. We investigate the range of possible allowed CP-violating phases by taking into account the constraints arising from the measurements of the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) and the latest LHC Higgs data. Our analysis shows that large CP-violating phases, that are NMSSM-specific, are not in conflict with the EDMs. They are dominantly constrained by the Higgs data in this case. We use our r…
We use the present upper bound on the neutron electric dipole moment to give an estimate for the upper limit of the CP-violating couplings of the $η(η')$ meson to the neutron. Using this result, we derive constraints on the CP-violating two-pion decays of the $η(η')$. Our results are relevant for the running and planned GlueX and LHCb measurements of rare meson decays.
Electric dipole moments constitute highly sensitive probes for CP-violating effects beyond the Standard Model. The upper limits obtained in various precision experiments can therefore be used to strongly restrict new physics models. However, relating the experimental information to parameters of a specific model is complicated by the presence of various sources for EDMs as well as large theory uncertainties in some of the relevant matrix elements. In this article, we address both issues for the EDMs of heavy paramagnetic systems, where it is possible to include subleading contributions, thereb…
Relativistic many-body methods at different levels of approximations are employed to gain insights into the passage of the electron correlations from lower to higher levels in the accurate determination of the electric dipole polarizability ($α_d$) and electric dipole moment (EDM) due to the electron-nucleus tensor-pseudotensor (T-PT) and nuclear Schiff moment (NSM) interactions of the $^{199}$Hg ground state. Moreover, plausible reasons for the differences in the previous calculations are pointed out. Comparison between the calculated and experimental results of $α_d$ indicates that our EDM c…
It is shown that in the experiments for search of EDM of an electron (atom, molecule) the T-odd magnetic moment induced by an electric field and the T-odd electric dipole moment induced by a magnetic field will be also measured. It is discussed how to distinguish these contributions.
We report theoretical results of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of $^{210}$Fr which arises from the interaction of the EDM of an electron with the internal electric field in an atom and the scalar-pseudoscalar electron-nucleus interaction; the two dominant sources of CP violation in this atom. Employing the relativistic coupled-cluster theory, we evaluate the enhancement factors for these two CP violating interactions to an accuracy of about 3% and analyze the contributions of the many-body effects. These two quantities in combination with the projected sensitivity of the $^{210}$Fr EDM expe…
The exchange of an axion-like particle between atomic electrons and the nucleus may induce electric dipole moments (EDMs) of atoms and molecules. This interaction is described by a parity- and time-reversal-invariance-violating potential which depends on the product of a scalar $g^s$ and a pseudoscalar $g^p$ coupling constant. We consider the interaction with the specific combination of these constants, $g_e^s g_N^p$, which gives significant contributions to the EDMs of diamagnetic atoms. In this paper, we calculate these contributions to the EDMs of $^{199}$Hg, $^{129}$Xe, $^{211}$Rn and $^{2…
The electric dipole moment (EDM) is a very sensitive probe of CP violation beyond the standard model, and it as been measured in many systems such as atoms, neutrons, etc. The EDM of composite systems may be sensitive to several elementary level CP violating processes, but the theoretical evaluations of the CP violation at different physical (atomic, nuclear, hadronic, elementary) hierarchies are required to unveil them. In this context, we are particularly interested in which CP violating processes are enhanced in a given system, or vice versa. In this proceedings contribution, we will give a…
CP-violating interaction of the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment (MQM) with electrons in the ytterbium mono-hydroxide molecule, $^{173}$YbOH, is considered. Both the magnetic quadrupole moment (MQM) of the $^{173}$Yb nucleus and the molecular interaction constant WM are estimated. Electron correlation effects are taken into account within the relativistic Fock-space coupled cluster method. Results are interpreted in terms of the strength constants of CP-violating nuclear forces, neutron EDM, QCD vacuum angle $θ$, quark EDM and chromo-EDM.
We investigate direct and indirect constraints on the complete set of anomalous CP-violating Higgs couplings to quarks and gluons originating from dimension-6 operators, by studying their signatures at the LHC and in electric dipole moments (EDMs). We show that existing uncertainties in hadronic and nuclear matrix elements have a significant impact on the interpretation of EDM experiments, and we quantify the improvements needed to fully exploit the power of EDM searches. Currently, the best bounds on the anomalous CP-violating Higgs interactions come from a combination of EDM measurements and…
We calculate the electric dipole moments (EDM) of the neutral Hg(199) atom, deuteron, nucleons and neutral hyperons Lambda, Sigma(0) and Xi(0) in the framework of a generic SUSY model without R-parity conservation (RPV SUSY) on the basis of the SU(3) version of chiral perturbation theory (ChPT). We consider CP-violation in the hadronic sector induced by the chromoelectric quark dipole moments and CP-violating 4-quark effective interactions. From the null experimental results on the neutron and Hg(199) atom EDMs we derive limits on the imaginary parts of certain products Im(lambda' lambda'*) of…
The CP-violating interaction of the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment (MQM) of the $^{175}$Lu nucleus with electrons in the molecular cation LuOH$^+$ is studied. The resulting effect is expressed in terms of CP-odd parameters, such as quantum chromodynamics angle $\barθ$, quark electric dipole moment (EDM) and chromo-EDM. For this we have performed a calculation of the nuclear MQM as well as the molecular constant that characterises the interaction of this MQM of $^{175}$Lu with electrons. Additionally, we predict the hyperfine structure constants for the ground electronic state of LuOH$^+$. …
We calculate the electric dipole moments (EDM) of the neutral Hg(199) atom, neutron and deuteron within a generic R-parity violating SUSY model (RPV SUSY) on the basis of a one-pion exchange model with CP-odd pion-nucleon interactions. We consider two types of the RPV SUSY contributions to the above hadronic EDMs: via the quark chromoelectric dipole moments (CEDM) and CP-violating 4-quark interactions. We demonstrate that the former contributes to all the three studied EDMs while the latter appears only in the nuclear EDMs via the CP-odd nuclear forces. We find that the RPV SUSY induced 4-quar…
We report rigorous calculations of electric dipole moment (EDM) in $^{225}$Ra due to parity and time-reversal violating tensor-pseudotensor (T-PT) and nuclear Schiff moment (NSM) interactions between the electrons and nucleus by employing the relativistic all order coupled-cluster (RCC) methods at various levels of approximation. The most accurate EDM ($d_A$) results are obtained as $d_A=-10.04\times 10^{-20} C_T <σ_n>|e|cm$ and $d_A^{NSM}=-6.79 \times 10^{-17} S (|e|fm^3)^{-1} |e|cm$ with $C_T$ and $S$ are the T-PT coupling constant and NSM respectively. Due to exhaustive treatment of the ele…
We have calculated the atomic electric dipole moments (EDMs) induced in ^{199}Hg, ^{129}Xe, ^{223}Rn, ^{225}Ra, and ^{239}Pu by their respective nuclear Schiff moments S. The results are (in units 10^{-17}S(e {fm}^{3})^{-1}e cm): d(^{199}Hg)=-2.8, d(^{129}Xe)=0.38, d(^{223}Rn)=3.3, d(^{225}Ra)=-8.5, d(^{239}Pu)=-11. We have also calculated corrections to the parity- and time-invariance-violating (P,T-odd) spin-axis interaction constant in TlF. These results are important for the interpretation of atomic and molecular experiments on EDMs in terms of fundamental P,T-odd parameters.
In the CP violating supersymmetric extension of the standard model with local gauged baryon and lepton symmetries(BLMSSM), there are new CP violating sources which can give new contributions to the quark electric dipole moment (EDM). Considering the CP violating phases, we analyze the EDMs of the quarks c and t. We take into account the contributions from the one loop diagrams. The numerical results are analyzed with some assumptions on the relevant parameter space. The numerical results for the c and t EDMs can reach large values.
In the presence of P,T-violating interactions, the exchange of axion-like particles between electrons and nucleons in atoms and molecules induces electric dipole moments (EDMs) of atoms and molecules. We perform calculations of such axion-exchange-induced atomic EDMs using the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Dirac method including electron core polarisation (RPA) corrections. We present analytical estimates to explain the dependence of these induced atomic EDMs on the axion mass and atomic parameters. From the experimental bounds on the EDMs of atoms and molecules, including $^{133}$Cs, $^{205}$Tl, …
In this talk, we motivate the calculation of the matrix elements of novel CP violating operators, the quark EDM and the quark chromo EDM operators, within the nucleon state using lattice QCD. These matrix elements, combined with the bound on the neutron EDM, would provide stringent constraints on beyond the standard model physics, especially as the next generation of neutron EDM experiments reduce the current bound. We then present our lattice strategy for the calculation of these matrix elements, in particular we describe the use of the Schrödinger source method to reduce the calculation of t…
Electric dipole moments of atoms can arise from P-odd and T-odd electron--nucleon couplings. This work studies a general class of dimension-six electron--nucleon interactions mediated by Lorentz-violating tensors of ranks ranging from $1$ to $4$. The possible couplings are listed as well as their behavior under C, P, and T, allowing us to select the couplings compatible with electric-dipole-moment physics. The unsuppressed contributions of these couplings to the atom's hamiltonian can be read as equivalent to an electric dipole moment. The Lorentz-violating coefficients' magnitudes are limited…
We analyze the constraints placed on individual, flavor diagonal CP-violating phases in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) by current experimental bounds on the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the neutron, Thallium, and Mercury atoms. We identify the four CP-violating phases that are individually highly constrained by current EDM bounds, and we explore how these phases and correlations among them are constrained by current EDM limits. We also analyze the prospective implications of the next generation of EDM experiments. We point out that all other CP-violating…
The impact of axion-like particles (ALPs) on the search of permanent electric dipole moments (EDMs) of molecules, atoms, nuclei and nucleons is systematically investigated. We classify first the full set of CP-violating Jarlskog invariants emerging in the ALP effective field theory (EFT) containing operators up to dimension-5. Then, we evaluate the leading short-distance effects to the EDMs up to two-loop order. The high sensitivity of EDMs to CP-violating ALP interactions is emphasised exploiting both the current and projected experimental sensitivities.
Within the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), the large tan(beta) regime can lead to important modifications in the pattern of CP-violating sources contributing to low energy electric dipole moments (EDMs). In particular, four-fermion CP-violating interactions induced by Higgs exchange should be accounted for alongside the constituent EDMs of quarks and electrons. To this end, we present a comprehensive analysis of three low energy EDM observables - namely the EDMs of thallium, mercury and the neutron - at large tan(beta), in terms of one- and two-loop contributions to the constitue…
We present the full result for the down squark mass-squared matrix in the complete theory of supersymmetry without R-parity where all kind of R-parity violating terms are admitted without bias. An optimal parametrization, the single-VEV parametrization, is used. The major result is a new contribution to $LR$ squark mixing, involving both bilinear and trilinear R-parity violating couplings. Among other things, the latter leads to neutron electric dipole moment at one-loop level. Similiar mechanism leading to electron electric dipole moment at the same level. We present here a short report on ma…
Recent measurements in paramagnetic molecules improved the limit on the electron electric dipole moment (EDM) by an order of magnitude. Time-reversal (T) and parity (P) symmetry violation in molecules may also come from their nuclei. We point out that nuclear T,P-odd effects are amplified in paramagnetic molecules containing deformed nuclei, where the primary effects arise from the T,P-odd nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment (MQM). We perform calculations of T,P-odd effects in the molecules TaN, ThO, ThF$^+$, HfF$^+$, YbF, HgF, and BaF induced by MQMs. We compare our results with those for the …
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the $τ-$lepton, $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$, in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the branching ratios $B(τ\to μγ)$ and $B(τ\to 3μ)$, after taking into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM. Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for the aforementioned branching ratios and …
The CP violating two-Higgs doublet model of type-X may enhance significantly the electric and magnetic moment of leptons through two-loop Barr-Zee diagrams. We analyze the general parameter space of the type-X 2HDM consistent with the muon $g-2$ and the electron EDM measurements to show how strongly the CP violating parameter is constrained in the region explaining the muon $ g-2$ anomaly.
We perform calculations of the CP-violating atomic and molecular electric dipole moments (EDM) induced by the interaction of the nuclear Schiff moments with electrons. EDM of atoms Eu, Dy, Gd, Ac, Th, Pa, U, Np and Pu are of special interest since they have isotopes with strongly enhanced nuclear Schiff moments caused by the octupole nuclear deformation or soft octupole vibration mode. These atoms have open 4f or 5f shells making the calculations complicated. We use our special version of the configuration interaction method combined with the many-body perturbation theory method adopted for op…
Investigations of CP violation in hadron sector may be done using measurements in the ThO molecule. Recent measurements in this molecule improved the limit on electron EDM by an order of magnitude. Another time reversal (T) and parity (P) violating effect in $^{229}$ThO is induced by the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment. We have performed nuclear and molecular calculations to express this effect in terms of the strength constants of T,P-odd nuclear forces, neutron EDM, QCD vacuum angle $θ$, quark EDM and chromo-EDM.
The CP-violating phenomenology of the MSSM with Minimal Flavor Violation (MFV) in the lepton sector is revisited. To this end, the most general parametrizations of the slepton soft-breaking terms are constructed assuming a seesaw mechanism of type I. After a critical reassessment of how the CP-symmetry is broken within the MFV framework, all possible CP-violating phases are introduced. From the strong hierarchy of their contributions to the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs), these phases are split into three classes: flavor-blind, flavor-diagonal and flavor off-diagonal. In particular, the phases…
Parity and time invariance violating ($P,T$-odd) atomic electric dipole moments (EDM) are induced by interaction between atomic electrons and nuclear $P,T$-odd moments which are produced by $P,T$-odd nuclear forces. The nuclear EDM is screened by atomic electrons. The EDM of a non-relativistic atom with closed electron subshells is induced by the nuclear Schiff moment. For heavy relativistic atoms EDM is induced by the nuclear local dipole moments which differ by 10-50% from the Schiff moments calculated previously. We calculate the local dipole moments for ${^{199}{\rm Hg}}$ and ${^{205}{\rm …
We complete our derivation of upper limits on the CP violating $ηππ$ and $η'ππ$ couplings from an analysis of their two-loop contributions to the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM). We use a phenomenological Lagrangian approach which is formulated in terms of hadronic degrees of freedom - nucleons and pseudoscalar mesons. The essential part of the Lagrangian contains the CP violating couplings between $η(η')$ and pions. Previously, we included photons using minimal substitution in case of the proton and charged pions. Now we extend our Lagrangian by adding the nonminimal couplings, i.e. ano…
Electric dipole moments (EDMs), which are sought as evidence of CP violation, require lattice calculations to connect constraints from experiments to limits on the strong CP violation within QCD or CP violation in new physics beyond the standard model. Nucleon EDM calculations on a lattice are notoriously hard due to large statistical noise, chiral symmetry violating effects, and potential mixing of the EDM and the anomalous magnetic moment of the nucleon. In this report, details of ongoing lattice calculations of proton and neutron EDMs induced by the QCD $θ$-term and the quark chromo-EDM, th…
We analyze the implications of CP-violating scalar leptoquark (LQ) interactions for experimental probes of parity- and time-reversal violating properties of polar molecules. These systems are predominantly sensitive to the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron and nuclear-spin-independent (NSID) electron-nucleon interaction. The LQ model can generate both a tree-level NSID interaction as well as the electron EDM at one-loop order. Including both interactions, we find that the NSID interaction can dominate the molecular response. For moderate values of couplings, the current experimental…
We analyze the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model with explicit R-parity violating terms. The leading contribution to the EDM occurs at the 2-loop level and is dominated by the chromoelectric dipole moments of quarks, assuming there is no tree-level mixings between sleptons and Higgs bosons or between leptons and gauginos. Based on the experimental constraint on the neutron EDM, we set limits on the imaginary parts of complex couplings ${λ'}_{ijk}$ and $λ_{ijk}$ due to the virtual b-loop or tau-loop.
We reexamine the R-parity violating contribution to the fermion electric and chromo-electric dipole moments (EDM and cEDM) in the two-loop diagrams. It is found that the leading Barr-Zee type two-loop contribution is smaller than the result found in previous works, and that EDM experimental data provide looser limits on RPV couplings.
The contribution in the R-parity violating (RPV) Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) to the electric dipole moment (EDM) of $^{199}$Hg at the one-loop level is evaluated. At the one-loop level, the $^{199}$Hg EDM receives RPV contribution whose couplings are of a different type from the tree level analysis. This contribution is shown to be constrained by using the limit to the CP-odd electron-nucleon (e-N) interaction given by the recent result of $^{199}$Hg EDM experiment.
The electric dipole moments (EDMs) of heavy nuclei, such as 199Hg, 225Ra and 211Rn, can be enhanced by the Schiff moments induced by the presence of nearby parity-doublet states. Working within the framework of the maximally CP-violating and minimally flavour-violating (MCPMFV) version of the MSSM, we discuss the maximal values that such EDMs might attain, given the existing experimental constraints on the Thallium, neutron and Mercury EDMs. The maximal EDM values of the heavy nuclei are obtained with the help of a differential-geometrical approach proposed recently that enables the maxima of …
HfF$^+$ cation is a very promising system to search for the electron electric dipole moment (EDM), and corresponding experiment is carried out by E. Cornell group. Here we theoretically investigate the cation to search for another T,P-odd effect -- the nuclear magnetic quadrpole moment (MQM) interaction with electrons. We report the first accurate ab initio relativistic electronic structure calculations of the molecular parameter $W_M$=0.494 $\frac{10^{33}\mathrm{Hz}}{e~{\rm cm}^2}$ that is required to interpret the experimental data in terms of the MQM of Hf nucleus. For this we have implemen…
We discuss constraints on soft CP-violating couplings of axion-like particles with photon and fermions by using data on electric dipole moments of Standard Model particles. In particular, for the ALP leptophilic scenario we derive bounds on CP-odd ALP-photon-photon coupling from data of the {\tt ACME} Collaboration on electron EDM. We also discuss prospects of the Storage Ring experiment to constrain the ALP-photon-photon coupling from data on proton EDM for the simplified hadrophilic interactions of ALP. The regarding constraints from experimental bounds on the muon and neutron EDMs are weak.…
