Recently, in a series of papers "simple" versions of direct-injective and direct-projective modules have been investigated. These modules are termed as "simple-direct-injective" and "simple-direct-projective", respectively. In this paper, we give a complete characterization of the aforementioned modules over the ring of integers and over semilocal rings. The ring is semilocal if and only if every right module with zero Jacobson radical is simple-direct-projective. The rings whose simple-direct-injective right modules are simple-direct-projective are fully characterized. These are exactly the left perfect right $H$-rings. The rings whose simple-direct-projective right modules are simple-direct-injective are right max-rings. For a commutative Noetherian ring, we prove that simple-direct-projective modules are simple-direct-injective if and only if simple-direct-injective modules are simple-direct-projective if and only if the ring is Artinian. Various closure properties and some classes of modules that are simple-direct-injective (resp. projective) are given.
In this paper, we calculate cohomology of a classical Lie algebra of type $A_2$ over an algebraically field $k$ of characteristic $p=3$ with coefficients in simple modules. To describe their structure, we will consider them as modules over an algebraic group $SL_3(k).$ In the case of characteristic $p=3,$ there are only two peculiar simple modules: a simple module isomorphic to the quotient module of the adjoint module by the center, and a one-dimensional trivial module. The results on the cohomology of simple nontrivial module are used for calculate the coomology of the adjoint module. We als…
The Gelfand--Kirillov dimension has gained importance since its introduction as an tool in the study of non-commutative infinite dimensional algebras and their modules. In this paper we show a dichotomy for the Gelfand--Kirillov dimension of simple modules over certain simple rings of differential operators.
For an ample groupoid $\mathcal{G}$ and a unit $x$ of $\mathcal{G}$, Steinberg constructed the induction and restriction functors between the category of modules over the Steinberg algebra $A_R(\mathcal{G})$ and the category of modules over the isotropy group algebra $R\mathcal{G}_x$. In this paper, we prove a graded version of these functors and related results for the graded Steinberg algebra of a graded ample groupoid. As an application, the spectral simple and graded simple modules over the Leavitt path algebra $L_K(E)$ are classified. In particular, we show that many of previously known s…
In this paper we discuss under which conditions cyclic essential extensions of simple modules over a differential operator ring R[z;d] are Artinian. In particular, we study the case when R is either d-simple or d-primitive. Furthermore, we obtain important results when R is an affine algebra of Kull dimension 2. As an application we characterize the differential operator rings C[x,y][z;d] for which cyclic essential extensions of simple modules are Artinian.
We calculate the cohomology of $\mathfrak{sl}_3(k)$ over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>3$ with coefficients in simple modules and Weyl modules. We also give descriptions of the corresponding cohomology of $\mathfrak{gl}_3(k)$.
For modules over a finite-dimensional algebra, there is a canonical one-to-one correspondence between the projective indecomposable modules and the simple modules. In this purely expository note, we take a straight-line path from the definitions to this correspondence. The proof is self-contained.
This paper generalizes the concepts of 2-local derivations and biderivations (without the skewsymmetric condition) of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra from the adjoint module to any finite-dimensional module, and determines all 2-local derivations and biderivations of the 3-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra $\frak{sl}(2)$ on its any finite-dimensional simple module.
Given a grading by an abelian group G on a semisimple Lie algebra L over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0, we classify up to isomorphism the simple objects in the category of finite-dimensional G-graded L-modules. The invariants appearing in this classification are computed in the case when L is simple classical (except for type D4, where a partial result is given). In particular, we obtain criteria to determine when a finite-dimensional simple L-module admits a G-grading making it a graded L-module.
The paper introduces the notion of a representation $k$-graph $(Δ,α)$ for a given $k$-graph $Λ$. It is shown that any representation $k$-graph for $Λ$ yields a module for the Kumjian-Pask algebra $KP(Λ)$, and the representation $k$-graphs yielding simple modules are characterised. Moreover, the category $RG(Λ)$ of representation $k$-graphs for $Λ$ is investigated using the covering theory of higher-rank graphs.
For the algebra $A$ in the title, its prime, primitive and maximal spectra are classified. The group of automorphisms of $A$ is determined. The simple unfaithful $A$-modules and the simple weight $A$-modules are classified.
In this paper, we give a construction of simple modules generalizing and including both highest weight and Whittaker modules for the Neveu-Schwarz algebra, in the spirit of the work of Mazorchuk and Zhao on simple Virasoro modules. We establish a 1-1 correspondence between simple restricted Neveu-Schwarz modules and simple modules of a family of finite dimensional solvable Lie superalgebras associated to the Neveu-Schwarz algebra. Moreover, for two of these superalgebras all simple modules are classified.
Let $d\ge1$ be an integer, $W_d$ and $\mathcal{K}_d$ be the Witt algebra and the weyl algebra over the Laurent polynomial algebra $A_d=\mathbb{C} [x_1^{\pm1}, x_2^{\pm1}, ..., x_d^{\pm1}]$, respectively. For any $\mathfrak{gl}_d$-module $M$ and any admissible module $P$ over the extended Witt algebra $\widetilde W_d$, we define a $W_d$-module structure on the tensor product $P\otimes M$. We prove in this paper that any simple $W_d$-module that is finitely generated over the cartan subalgebra is a quotient module of the $W_d$-module $P \otimes M$ for a finite dimensional simple $\mathfrak{gl}_d…
In this paper we explore the possibility of endowing simple infinite-dimensional ${\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})}$-modules by the structure of the graded module. The gradings on finite-dimensional simple module over simple Lie algebras has been studied in [arXiv:1308.6089] and [arXiv:1601.03008].
In this paper we use Block's classification of simple modules over the first Weyl algebra to obtain a complete classification of simple weight modules, in particular, of Harish-Chandra modules, over the 1-spatial ageing algebra age(1). Most of these modules have infinite dimensional weight spaces and so far the algebra age(1) is the only Lie algebra having simple weight modules with infinite dimensional weight spaces for which such a classification exists. As an application we classify all simple weight modules over the (1+1)-dimensional space-time Schrodinger algebra S that have a simple age(…
The Drinfeld double D of the bosonization of a finite-dimensional Nichols algebra B(V) over a finite non-abelian group G is called a quantum group at a non-abelian group. We introduce Verma modules over such a quantum group D and prove that a Verma module has simple head and simple socle. This provides two bijective correspondences between the set of simple modules over D and the set of simple modules over the Drinfeld double D(G). As an example, we describe the lattice of submodules of the Verma modules over the quantum group at the symmetric group S3 attached to the 12-dimensional Fomin-Kiri…
We propose a conjectural correspondence between the set of rigid indecomposable modules over the path algebras of acyclic quivers and the set of certain non-self-intersecting curves on Riemann surfaces, and prove the correspondence for the 2-complete rank 3 quivers.
Let $n\ge2$ be an integer, $\mathcal{K}_n$ the Weyl algebra over the Laurent polynomial algebra $A_n=\mathbb{C} [x_1^{\pm1}, x_2^{\pm1}, ..., x_n^{\pm1}]$, and $\mathbb{S}_n$ the Lie algebra of divergence zero vector fields on an $n$-dimensional torus. For any $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-module $V$ and any module $P$ over $\mathcal{K}_n$, we define an $\mathbb{S}_n$-module structure on the tensor product $P\otimes V$. In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions for the $\mathbb{S}_n$-modules $P\otimes V$ to be simple are given, and an isomorphism criterion for nonminuscule $\mathbb{S}_n$-modules …
