We study the representations of two types of pointed Hopf algebras: restricted two-parameter quantum groups, and the Drinfel'd doubles of rank one pointed Hopf algebras of nilpotent type. We study, in particular, under what conditions a simple module can be factored as the tensor product of a one dimensional module with a module that is naturally a module for the quotient by central group-like elements.
We classify pointed Hopf algebras of discrete corepresentation type over an algebraically closed field K with characteristic zero. For such algebras $H$, we explicitly determine the algebra structure up to isomorphism for the link indecomposable component $B$ containing the unit. It turns out that $H$ is a crossed product of $B$ and a certain group algebra.
We prove finite generation of the cohomology ring of any finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebra, having abelian group of grouplike elements, under some mild restrictions on the group order. The proof uses the recent classification by Andruskiewitsch and Schneider of such Hopf algebras. Examples include all of Lusztig's small quantum groups, whose cohomology was first computed explicitly by Ginzburg and Kumar, as well as many new pointed Hopf algebras. We also show that in general the cohomology ring of a Hopf algebra in a braided category is braided commutative. As a consequence we obtain som…
We investigate the representation theory of a large class of pointed Hopf algebras, extending results of Lusztig and others. We classify all simple modules in a suitable category and determine the weight multiplicities; we establish a complete reducibility theorem in this category.
In this paper, we study the representations of the new finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras in positive characteristic given in \cite{Cib09}. We find that these Hopf algebras are symmetric algebras. We determine the simple modules and their projective covers over these Hopf algebras. We show that these Hopf algebras are of wild representation type.
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. We conclude the classification of finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras whose group of group-likes is S_4. We also describe all pointed Hopf algebras over S_5 whose infinitesimal braiding is associated to the rack of transpositions.
Let $H$ be a finite dimensional pointed rank one Hopf algebra of nilpotent type. We first determine all finite dimensional indecomposable $H$-modules up to isomorphism, and then establish the Clebsch-Gordan formulas for the decompositions of the tensor products of indecomposable $H$-modules by virtue of almost split sequences. The Green ring $r(H)$ of $H$ will be presented in terms of generators and relations. It turns out that the Green ring $r(H)$ is commutative and is generated by one variable over the Grothendieck ring $G_0(H)$ of $H$ modulo one relation. Moreover, $r(H)$ is Frobenius and …
In this paper, we prove that a non-semisimple Hopf algebra H of dimension 4p with p an odd prime over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero is pointed provided H contains more than two group-like elements. In particular, we prove that non-semisimple Hopf algebras of dimensions 20, 28 and 44 are pointed or their duals are pointed, and this completes the classification of Hopf algebras in these dimensions.
In this paper, we present an approach to the definition of multiparameter quantum groups by studying Hopf algebras with triangular decomposition. Classifying all of these Hopf algebras which are of what we call weakly separable type over a group, we obtain a class of pointed Hopf algebras which can be viewed as natural generalizations of multiparameter deformations of universal enveloping algebras of Lie algebras. These Hopf algebras are instances of a new version of braided Drinfeld doubles, which we call asymmetric braided Drinfeld doubles. This is a generalization of an earlier result by Be…
In this paper, we study the representation theory of Hopf-Ore extensions of group algebras and pointed Hopf algebras of rank one over an arbitrary field $k$. Let $H=kG(χ, a,\d)$ be a Hopf-Ore extension of $kG$ and $H'$ a rank one quotient Hopf algebra of $H$, where $k$ is a field, $G$ is a group, $a$ is a central element of $G$ and $χ$ is a $k$-valued character for $G$ with $χ(a)\neq 1$. We first show that the simple weight modules over $H$ and $H'$ are finite dimensional. Then we describe the structures of all simple weight modules over $H$ and $H'$, and classify them. We also consider the de…
In this paper, we continue our study of the Green rings of finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras of rank one initiated in \cite{WLZ}, but focus on those Hopf algebras of non-nilpotent type. Let $H$ be a finite dimensional pointed rank one Hopf algebra of non-nilpotent type. We first determine all non-isomorphic indecomposable $H$-modules and describe the Clebsch-Gordan formulas for them. We then study the structures of both the Green ring $r(H)$ and the Grothendieck ring $G_0(H)$ of $H$ and establish the precise relation between the two rings. We use the Cartan map of $H$ to study the Jacob…
We show that the cohomology ring of a finite-dimensional complex pointed Hopf algebra with an abelian group of group-like elements is finitely generated. Our strategy has three major steps. We first reduce the problem to the finite generation of cohomology of finite dimensional Nichols algebras of diagonal type. For the Nichols algebras we do a detailed analysis of cohomology via the Anick resolution reducing the problem further to specific combinatorial properties. Finally, to check these properties we turn to the classification of Nichols algebras of diagonal type due to Heckenberger. In thi…
The celebrated Milnor-Moore theorem and the more general Cartier-Kostant-Milnor-Moore theorem establish close relationships of a connected and a pointed cocommutative Hopf algebra with its Lie algebra of primitive elements and its group of group-like elements. Crossed homomorphisms for Lie algebras, groups and Hopf algebras have been studied extensively, first from a cohomological perspective and then more broadly, with an important case given by difference operators. This paper shows that the relationship among the different algebraic structures captured in the Milnor-Moore theorem can be str…
In this paper, we compute the projective class rings of the tensor product $\mathcal{H}_n(q)=A_n(q)\otimes A_n(q^{-1})$ of Taft algebras $A_n(q)$ and $A_n(q^{-1})$, and its cocycle deformations $H_n(0,q)$ and $H_n(1,q)$, where $n>2$ is a positive integer and $q$ is a primitive $n$-th root of unity. It is shown that the projective class rings $r_p(\mathcal{H}_n(q))$, $r_p(H_n(0,q))$ and $r_p(H_n(1,q))$ are commutative rings generated by three elements, three elements and two elements subject to some relations, respectively. It turns out that even $\mathcal{H}_n(q)$, $H_n(0,q)$ and $H_n(1,q)$ ar…
Let H be a non-semisimple Hopf algebra of dimension 2p^2 over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, where p is an odd prime. We prove that H or H^* is pointed, which completes the classification for Hopf algebras of these dimensions.
We calculate all irreducible representations over a subfamily of pointed Hopf algebras with group-likes the dihedral group analyzing the possible decompositions of the restriction to the dihedral group and calculating the Jacobson radical of the Hopf algebra
Modules over a vertex operator algebra V give rise to sheaves of coinvariants on moduli of stable pointed curves. If V satisfies finiteness and semi-simplicity conditions, these sheaves are vector bundles. This relies on factorization, an isomorphism of spaces of coinvariants at a nodal curve with a finite sum of analogous spaces on the normalization of the curve. Here we introduce the notion of a factorization presentation, and using this, we show that finiteness conditions on V imply the sheaves of coinvariants are coherent on moduli spaces of pointed stable curves without any assumption of …
We study the de-equivariantization of a Hopf algebra by an affine group scheme and we apply Tannakian techniques in order to realize it as the tensor category of comodules over a coquasi-bialgebra. As an application we construct a family of coquasi-Hopf algebras $A(H,G,Φ)$ attached to a coradically-graded pointed Hopf algebra $H$ and some extra data.
