Simultaneous core partitions have attracted much attention since Anderson's work on the number of $(t_1,t_2)$-core partitions. In this paper we focus on simultaneous core partitions with distinct parts. The generating function of $t$-core partitions with distinct parts is obtained. We also prove the results on the number, the largest size and the average size of $(t, t + 1)$-core partitions. This gives a complete answer to a conjecture of Amdeberhan, which is partly and independently proved by Straub, Nath and Sellers, and Zaleski recently.

We introduce the idea of (s,t)-closure and delta-sets and show that (s,t)-closed beta-sets which are contained set-wise in (s,t)-closed delta-sets are also contained partition-wise. This implies the maximal (s,t)-core partition theorem of Olsson and Stanton. We explain a "curious symmetry" for maximal $(s-1,s+1)$-core partitions first observed by T. Amdeberhan and E. Leven. Specifically, using the $s$-abacus, we show such partitions have empty $s$-core and that their $s$-quotient is comprised of 2-cores. Also, we show the relation between hook lengths of self conjugate partition and corresponding partition via the bijection. This paper investigates partitions which have neither parts nor hook lengths divisible by $p$, referred to as $p$-core $p'$-partitions. We show that the largest $p$-core $p'$-partition corresponds to the longest walk on a graph with vertices $\{0, 1, \ldots, p-1\}$ and labelled edges defined via addition modulo $p$. We also exhibit an explicit family of large $p$-core $p'$-partitions, giving a lower bound on the size of the largest such partition which is of the same degree as the upper bound found by McSpirit and Ono.

Furthermore, we give a combinatorial explanation for the curious equality $2\operatorname{sc}_7(8n+1) = \operatorname{c}_4(7n+2)$. Partition theory abounds with bijections between different types of partitions. One of the most famous partition bijections maps each self-conjugate partition of a positive integer $n$ to a partition of $n$ into distinct odd parts, and vice versa. Here we prove new necessary and sufficient conditions for a self-conjugate partition to be $t$-core, in terms of only the parts of the corresponding partition into distinct odd parts, by proving a new hook length formula. Given a multipartition datum (s|c), which consists of a non-negative integer s and an l-tuple c of integers, we introduce the notion of an (s|c)-core multipartition.
