Understanding the nature of grain boundary (GB) characteristics in combination with creating low-energy GBs by modifying the processing conditions, so-called GB engineering, is of great importance for controlling and reducing the defect density, leading to improved functionalities of polycrystalline metals and ceramics. For superconductors particularly, including both low- and high-temperature superconductors, GB engineering has been developed to improve especially the critical current densities, Jc, across these GBs. The intrinsic physical properties of a given superconductor such as the coherence length, the order parameter symmetry, and their anisotropies would determine the strategy of GB engineering. In this topical review, we present an overview of the GB characteristics and GB engineering of Fe-based superconductors (FBS) in the form of polycrystalline bulks and wires, and thin films with application potential, e.g. for high-field magnet wires. Prior to the FBS, GB engineering of the cuprates and MgB2 are also briefly covered.
We calculate the s- and d-wave superconductor order parameter in the vicinity of a tilt grain boundary. We do this self-consistently within the Bogoliubov de Gennes equations, using a realistic microscopic model of the grain boundary. We present the first self-consistent calculations of supercurrent flows in such boundaries, obtaining the current-phase characteristics of grain boundaries in both s-wave and d-wave superconductors.
The purpose of this article is to discuss a view concerning key datasets of the properties of grain boundaries in high-Tc superconductors that was recently expressed in Ref. 1. The reference also criticizes our research. Using examples I disprove this criticism.
For many applications of polycrystalline high-Tc superconductors the small critical currents of the grain boundaries pose a severe problem. To solve this problem we derive novel designs for the microstructure of coated conductors.
Iron-based superconductors have great potential for high-power applications due to their prominent high-field properties. One of the central issues in enhancing the critical current density of iron-based superconducting wires is to reveal the roles and limitations of grain boundaries in supercurrent transport. Here, we finely tuned the electronic properties of grain boundaries by doping Ba1-xKxFe2As2 superconductors in a wide range (0.25<x<0.598). It is found that the intra-grain Jcintra peaks near x~0.287, while the inter-grain Jcinter has a maximum at about x~0.458. Remarkably, the grain bou…
Microwave-field distribution, dissipation, and surface impedance are theoretically investigated for superconductors with laminar grain boundaries (GBs). In the present theory we adopt the two-fluid model for intragrain transport current in the grains, and the Josephson-junction model for intergrain tunneling current across GBs. Results show that the surface resistance $R_s$ nonmonotonically depends on the critical current density $J_{cj}$ at GB junctions, and $R_s$ for superconductors with GBs can be smaller than the surface resistance $R_{s0}$ for ideal homogeneous superconductors without GBs…
We discuss the problem of broken time reversal symmetry near grain boundaries in a d-wave superconductor based on a Ginzburg-Landau theory. It is shown that such a state can lead to fractional vortices on the grain boundary. Both analytical and numerical results show the structure of this type of state.
In this paper we study the order parameter and density of states near a grain boundary between two $d_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductors. We examine broken time reversal symmetry near the interface. In particular we show that, under suitable circumstances, time reversal symmetry must be broken even when the order parameter is purely $d_{x^2-y^2}$ everywhere in space.
We have fabricated quasi-two-dimensional arrays of nano-scale Pb grains coupled by an overlayer of Ag grains. Their temperature dependent resistive transitions follow predictions for an array of mesoscopic superconductor-normal-superconductor junctions. The decrease of their transition temperatures with Ag overlayer thickness systematically deviates from the Cooper limit theory of the proximity effect as the Pb grain size decreases. The deviations occur when the estimated number of Cooper pairs per grain is less than or equal to 1 and suggest the approach to a superconductor to metal transitio…
It is shown that the critical current density of high-Tc wires can be greatly enhanced by using a threefold approach, which consists of grain alignment, doping, and optimization of the grain architecture. According to model calculations, current densities of 4x10^6 A/cm2 can be achieved for an average grain alignment of 10 degree at 77K. Based on this approach, a road to competitive high-Tc cables is proposed.
We report here an atomic resolution study of the structure and composition of the grain boundaries in polycrystalline Sr0.6K0.4Fe2As2 superconductor. A large fraction of grain boundaries contain amorphous layers larger than the coherence length, while some others contain nanometer-scale particles sandwiched in between amorphous layers. We also find that there is significant oxygen enrichment at the grain boundaries. Such results explain the relatively low transport critical current density (Jc) of polycrystalline samples with respect to that of bicrystal films.
The Fe-based superconductors (FBS) are an important new class of superconducting materials. As with any new superconductor with a high transition temperature and upper critical field, there is a need to establish what their applications potential might be. Applications require high critical current densities, so the usefulness of any new superconductor is determined both by the capability to develop strong vortex pinning and by the absence or ability to overcome any strong current-limiting mechanisms of which grain boundaries in the cuprates are a cautionary example. In this review we first co…
High critical temperature superconductors have zero power consumption and could be used to produce ideal electric power lines. The principal obstacle in fabricating superconducting wires and tapes is grain boundaries-the misalignment of crystalline orientations at grain boundaries, which is unavoidable for polycrystals, largely deteriorates critical current density. Here, we report that High critical temperature iron pnictide superconductors have advantages over cuprates with respect to these grain boundary issues. The transport properties through well-defined bicrystal grain boundary junction…
A grain boundary which separates domains with different orientation along the c-axis is analyzed. The coupling of two parallel superconducting planes whose order parameters are rotated leads to interesting properties which are expected to be common to other kinds of grain boundary. The density of states is enhanced at low energies. The number of localized states depends on the degree of misfit across the boundary. A continuum of zero energy states appears at certain values of the angle rotation.
The interface properties of high-temperature cuprate superconductors have been of interest for many years, and play an essential role in Josephson junctions, superconducting cables, and microwave electronics. In particular, the maximum critical current achievable in high-Tc wires and tapes is well known to be limited by the presence of grain boundaries, regions of mismatch between crystallites with misoriented crystalline axes. In studies of single, artificially fabricated grain boundaries the striking observation has been made that the critical current Jc of a grain boundary junction depends …
For assemblies of superconductor nanograins, the magnetic response is analyzed as a function of both temperature and magnetic field. In order to describe the interaction energy of electron pairs for a huge number of many-particle states, involved in calculations, we develop a simple approximation, based on the Richardson solution for the reduced BCS Hamiltonian and applicable over a wide range of the grain sizes and interaction strengths at arbitrary distributions of single-electron energy levels in a grain. Our study is focused upon ultra-small grains, where both the mean value of the nearest…
The current-phase relation (CPR) for asymmetric 45 degree Josephson junctions between two d-wave superconductors has been predicted to exhibit an anomalous periodicity. We have used the single-junction interferometer to investigate the CPR for this kind of junctions in YBCO thin films. Half-fluxon periodicity has been experimentally found, providing a novel source of evidence for the d-wave symmetry of the pairing state of the cuprates.
We have systematically investigated the grain boundary (GB) angle dependence of transport properties for NdFeAs(O,F) fabricated on [001]-tilt symmetric MgO bicrystal substrates. In our previous study, NdFeAs(O,F) bicrystal films showed a weak-link behaviour even at a GB angle of 6°. However, this was caused by an extrinsic effect originating from the damage to both NdFeAs(O,F) and MgO substrate by excess F-diffusion along the grain boundary. To investigate the intrinsic nature of grain boundaries, we minimized the damage to NdFeAs(O,F) and MgO by reducing the deposition temperature of NdOF ove…
The V-Ti alloys are promising materials as alternate to the commercial Nb-based superconductors for high current-high magnetic field applications. However, the critical current density (J_c) of these alloys are somewhat low due to their low grain-boundary density. We show here that grain refinement of the V-Ti alloys and enhancement of the J_c can be achieved by the addition of Gd into the system, which precipitates as clusters along the grain boundaries. Both the J_c and the pinning force density (F_P) increase with the increasing Gd content up to 1 at. % Gd, where they are more than 20 times…
We observe a zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) in the ab-plane quasiparticle tunneling spectra of thin film grain-boundary Josephson junctions made of the electron doped cuprate superconductor LaCeCuO. An applied magnetic field reduces the spectral weight around zero energy and shifts it non-linearly to higher energies consistent with a Doppler shift of the Andreev bound states (ABS) energy. For all magnetic fields the ZBCP appears simultaneously with the onset of superconductivity. These observations strongly suggest that the ZBCP results from the formation of ABS at the junction interfaces, …
We have investigated the transport and noise properties of submicron YBCO bicrystal grain-boundary junctions prepared using electron beam lithography. The junctions show an increased conductance for low voltages reminiscent of Josephson junctions having a barrier with high transmissivity. The voltage noise spectra are dominated by a few Lorentzian components. At low temperatures clear two-level random telegraph switching (RTS) signals are observable in the voltage vs time traces. We have investigated the temperature and voltage dependence of individual fluctuators both from statistical analysi…
We show that low-angle grain boundaries (GB) in high-temperature superconductors exhibit intermediate Abrikosov vortices with Josephson cores, whose length $l$ along GB is smaller that the London penetration depth, but larger than the coherence length. We found an exact solution for a periodic vortex structure moving along GB in a magnetic field $H$ and calculated the flux flow resistivity $R_F(H)$, and the nonlinear voltage-current characteristics. The predicted $R_F(H)$ dependence describes well our experimental data on $7^{\circ}$ unirradiated and irradiated $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ bicrystals, from …
A systematic study of the weak- link behavior for YBa2Cu3O7-d polycrystalline samples has been done using the electrical resistivity and AC susceptibility techniques. The experiments were performed with two samples of similar grain, a sample of well-coupled grains, and a deoxygenated sample in such a way that the oxygen mostly come from the intergrain region. Analysis of the temperature dependence of the AC susceptibility near the transition temperature (Tc) has been done employing Bean critical state model. The observed variation of intergranular critical current densities(Jc)with temperature …
We calculate the critical current $I_c$ across in-plane (001) tilt grain boundary junctions of high temperature superconductors. We solve for the electronic states corresponding to the electron-doped cuprates, two slightly different hole-doped cuprates, and an extremely underdoped hole-doped cuprate in each half-space, and weakly connect the two half-spaces by either specular or random quasiparticle tunneling. We treat symmetric, straight, and fully asymmetric junctions with s-, extended-s-, or d$_{x^2-y^2}$-wave order parameters. For symmetric junctions with random grain boundary tunneling, o…
Flux pinning scaling laws were developed to explain the observed increase in the critical current density Jc caused by increased density of grain boundaries in polycrystalline low temperature superconductors (LTS) such as Nb3Sn. For four decades they have provided the framework for the successful development of the LTS materials that carry high Jc in high magnetic fields. However, the discovery of the weak-link problem suggested that transmission of supercurrent flow through the grain boundaries limited Jc in high temperature superconductors (HTS) such as YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO). Here we provide ev…
Grain boundary bicrystal Josephson junctions of the electron-doped infinite-layer superconductor Sr$_{1-x}$La$_x$CuO$_2$ ($x = 0.15$) were grown by pulsed laser deposition. BaTiO$_3$-buffered $24\,^\circ$ [001]-tilt symmetric SrTiO$_3$ bicrystals were used as substrates. We examined both Cooper pair (CP) and quasiparticle (QP) tunneling by electric transport measurements at temperatures down to 4.2\,K. CP tunneling revealed an extraordinary high critical current density for electron-doped cuprates of $j_c > 10^3\,$A/cm$^2$ at 4.2\,K. Thermally activated phase slippage was observed as dissipati…
The properties of the grain boundaries (GBs) are of significant importance in high-Tc cuprates. Most large scale applications of cuprate superconductors involve usage of sintered compounds. The critical current density and the ability to trap high magnetic flux inside the sample depend largely on the quality of the GBs. Zn has the ability to pin vortices but it also degrades superconductivity. In this study we have investigated the effect of Zn impurity on the intergrain coupling properties in high-quality La2-xSrxCu1-yZnyO4 sintered samples with different hole concentrations, p (\equiv x), ov…
We have performed a detailed study of the tunneling spectra of bicrystal grain boundary junctions (GBJs) fabricated from the HTS YBCO, BSCCO, LSCO, and NCCO. In all experiments the tunneling direction was along the CuO planes. With the exception of NCCO, for all materials a pronounced zero bias conductance peak was observed which decreases with increasing temperature and disappears at the critical temperature. These results can be explained by the presence of a dominating d-wave symmetry of the order parameter resulting in the formation of zero energy Andreev bound states at surfaces and inter…
In this paper, we report the synthesis, structure, transition temperature, upper critical field, critical current density and thermally activated flux flow in CaFFe0.9Co0.1As superconductor. Superconductivity arises at 23 K by Co substitution at the site of Fe atoms and upper critical field is estimated 102 T by using the Werthamer-Helfand-Hohenberg formula. The flux-flow activation energy (U0/kB) varies from 3230 K and 4190 K in the field of 1 T and 9 T respectively. At 2K, the Jc is found to be approximately 4x10^3A/cm^2 and 0.3x10^3 A/cm&^2 in zero and 6T field, respectively. Transmission e…
Temperature dependent resistivity of the iron-based superconductor NdFeAsO0.88F0.12 was measured under different applied fields and excitation currents. Arrhenius plot shows an anomalous tail effect, which contains obvious two resistivity dropping stages. The first is caused by the normal superconducting transition, and the second is supposed to be related to the weak-link between the grains. A model for the resistivity dropping related to the weak-link behavior is proposed, which is based on the Josephson junctions formed by the impurities in grain boundaries like FeAs, Sm2O3 and cracks toget…
We investigate flux penetration in a disordered type II superconductor by molecular dynamics simulations of interacting vortices. We focus on the effect of different boundary conditions on the scaling laws for flux front propagation. The numerical results can be interpreted using a coarse grained description of the system in terms of a non-linear diffusion equation. We propose a phenomenological equation for the front position that captures the essential behavior of the system and recovers the scaling exponents.
In many cases inhomogeneities are known to exist near the metal (or superconductor)-insulator transition, as follows from well-known domain-wall arguments. If the conducting regions are large enough (i.e. when the T=0 superconducting gap is much larger than the single-electron level spacing), and if they have superconducting correlations, it becomes energetically favorable for the system to go into a Josephson-coupled zero-resistance state before (i.e. at higher resistance than) becoming a "real" metal. We show that this is plausible by a simple comparison of the relevant coupling constants. F…
We consider a system of superconducting grains embedded in a normal metal. At zero temperature this system exhibits a quantum superconductor-normal metal phase transition. This transition can take place at arbitrarily large conductance of the normal metal.
We show that an induced $s$-wave harmonic in the superconducting gap of an orthorhombic $d_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductor strongly affects the excitation spectrum near a twinning plane. In particular, it yields bound states of zero energy with areal density proportional to the relative weight of the $s$-wave component. An unusual scattering process responsible for the thermal conductivity across the twin boundary at low temperatures is also identified.
We predict a complete TM-TE transformation of the polarization of terahertz electromagnetic waves reflected from a strongly anisotropic boundary of a layered superconductor. We consider the case when the wave is incident on the superconductor from a dielectric prism separated from the sample by a thin vacuum gap. The physical origin of the predicted phenomenon is similar to the Wood anomalies known in optics, and is related to the resonance excitation of the oblique surface waves. We also discuss the dispersion relation for these waves, propagating along the boundary of the superconductor at s…
Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory describes a superconducting transition as a single critical point where the gap function or, equivalently, the order parameter vanishes uniformly in the entire system. We demonstrate that in superconductors described by standard BCS models, the superconducting gap survives near the sample boundaries at higher temperatures than superconductivity in the bulk. Therefore, conventional superconductors have multiple critical points associated with separate phase transitions at the boundary and in the bulk. We show this by revising the Caroli-De Gennes-Matricon …
We consider excitation spectrum near a twin boundary in an orthorhombic $d+s$ superconductor. The low-energy spectrum is highly sensitive to the presence of the small amount of s-wave component. Robustness of the bound states at the Fermi level with respect to impurities and an extra boundary potential is investigated. The role of Andreev transmission process for the low-temperature thermal conductivity across twin boundaries is studied for an impure superconductors. At very low temperatures the bulk part and the twin boundaries part of the thermal conductivity have similar linear-$T$ dependen…
Using the standard Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory, we revise microscopic derivation of the superconductor-insulator boundary conditions for the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model. We obtain a negative contribution to free energy in the form of surface integral. Boundary conditions for the conventional superconductor have the form $\textbf{n} \cdot \nabla ψ= \text{const} ψ$. These are shown to follow from considering the order parameter reflected in the boundary. The boundary conditions are also derived for more general GL models with higher-order derivatives and pair-density-wave states. It sh…
When a finite superconductor is in contact with a 1D normal conductor, superconducting phase fluctuations lead to power-law response of the normal subsystem. As a result, the charge fluctuations on the superconductor at zero temperature have logarithmic correlator and a 1/ωpower spectrum (1/f-noise). At higher temperatures 1/ωis pushed to the high frequency region, and 1/ω^2 behavior prevails.
We discuss the formation of a vortex polycrystal in type II superconductors from the competition between pinning and elastic forces. We compute the elastic energy of a deformed grain boundary, that is strongly non-local, and obtain the depinning stress for weak and strong pinning. Our estimates for the grain size dependence on the magnetic field strength are in good agreement with previous experiments on NbMo. Finally, we discuss the effect of thermal noise on grain growth.
We present a microscopic study of the behavior of the order parameters near boundaries of a two-band superconducting material, described by the standard tight-binding Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer model. We find superconducting surface states. The relative difference between bulk and surface critical temperatures is a nontrivial function of the interband coupling strength. For superconductors with weak interband coupling, boundaries induce variations of the gaps with the presence of multiple length scales, despite non-zero interband Josephson coupling.
In granular superconductors, individual grains can contain bound Cooper pairs while the system as a whole is strongly insulating. In such cases the conductivity is determined by electron hopping between localized states in individual grains. Here we examine a model of hopping conductivity in such an insulating granular superconductor, where disorder is assumed to be provided by random charges embedded in the insulating gaps between grains. We use computer simulations to calculate the single-electron and electron pair density of states at different values of the superconducting gap $Δ$, and we …
The distribution of magnetic field in single-phase polycrystalline bulk MgB2 has been measured using a Magneto-Optical (MO) technique for an external magnetic field applied perpendicular to the sample surface. The MO studies indicate that an inter-granular current network is readily established in this material and the current is not limited by weak-linked grain boundaries. The grain boundaries are observed to resist preferential magnetic field penetration, with the inter-grain mechanism dominating the current flow in the sample at temperatures up to 30K. The results provide clear evidence tha…
Superconductors like other solids cannot relax instantaneously from thermally excited (disturbed) states to thermodynamic equilibrium. In this paper, relaxation of a multi-filamentary and of a thin film superconductor from thermal excitations is simulated. Absorption of radiation or, under conductor movement, release and transformation of mechanical tension to thermal energy are examples. The paper applies numerical simulations of superconductor energy states, as many-particle systems, under basic thermodynamic and standard, multi-component heat transfer principles (solid conduction plus radia…
Here we present the magnetic properties and upper critical field (BC2) of polycrystalline Y(Ba1-xSrx)2Cu3O7-δ superconductors, which are being determined through detailed ac/dc susceptibility and resistivity under magnetic field (RTH) study. All the samples are synthesized through solid state reaction route. Reduction in Meissner fraction (the ratio of field cooled to zero field cooled magnetization) is observed with increasing Sr content, suggesting occurrence of flux pining in the doped samples. The ac susceptibility and resistivity measurements reveal improved grain couplings in Sr substitu…
The structural and superconducting properties of Au{0.7}In{0.3} films, grown by interdiffusion of alternating Au and In layers, have been studied. The films were found to consist of a uniform solid solution of Au{0.9}In{0.1}, with excess In precipitated in the form of In-rich grains of various Au-In phases (with distinct atomic compositions), including intermetallic compounds. As the temperature was lowered, these individual grains became superconducting at a particular transition temperature (Tc), determined primarily by the atomic composition of the grain, before a fully superconducting stat…
We calculate the spectrum of the Andreev boundary modes in a two-dimensional superconductor formed at an interface between two different non-superconducting materials, e.g. insulating oxides. Inversion symmetry is absent in this system, and both the electron band structure and the superconducting pairing are strongly affected by the spin-orbit coupling of the Rashba type. We consider isotropic s-wave pairing states, both with and without time-reversal symmetry breaking, as well as various d-wave states. In all cases, there exist subgap Andreev boundary states, whose properties, in particular, …
Besides the well-known existence of Andreev bound states, the zero-energy local density of states at the boundary of a d-wave superconductor strongly depends on the boundary geometry itself. In this work, we examine the influence of both a simple wedge-shaped boundary geometry and a more complicated polygonal or faceted boundary structure on the local density of states. For a wedge-shaped boundary geometry, we find oscillations of the zero-energy density of states in the corner of the wedge, depending on the opening angle of the wedge. Furthermore, we study the influence of a single Abrikosov …
By doping MgB_2 superconductor with SiC nano-particles, we have successfully introduced pinning sites directly into the crystal lattice of MgB_2 grains (intra-grain pinning). It became possible due to the combination of counter-balanced Si and C co-substitution for B, leading to a large number of intra-granular dislocations and the dispersed nano-size impurities induced by the substitution. The magnetic field dependence of the critical current density was significantly improved in a wide temperature range, whereas the transition temperature in the sample MgB_2(SiC)_x having x = 0.34, the highe…
A phenomenological model is proposed which describes the effect of both dc and rf magnetic fields, $H$, on the microwave surface impedance, Z_s=R_s+jX_s, of a superconductor containing weak link. Two cases are considered; a weak link between two grains, shunted by another grain, and a non-shunted weak link. In both cases the dependences of R_s and X_s on applied field H were found to be anomalous. Under certain conditions, the values of Z_s(H) can fall below the zero-field values. Comparison with experiment is performed, and very good qualitative and (in some cases) quantitative agreement is f…
We discuss bound states appearing at the interface between two different superconductors characterized by different nontrivial topological numbers such as one-dimensional winding numbers and Chern numbers. The one-dimensional winding number characterizes d_{xy} and p_x wave superconductors. The Chern number characterizes chiral-p, chiral-d, and chiral-f wave superconductors. The interfacial bound state appears at the zero-energy when the topological numbers of the two superconductors are different from each other. When the two superconductors are characterized by the Chern numbers n and m, for…
The interplay of quantum fluctuations and dissipation in chains of mesoscopic superconducting grains is analyzed, and the results are also applied to nanowires. It is shown that in 1-d arrays of resistively shunted Josephson junctions, the superconducting-normal charge relaxation within the grains plays an important role. At zero temperature, two superconducting phases can exist, depending primarily on the strength of the dissipation. In the fully superconducting phase (FSC), each grain acts superconducting, and the coupling to the dissipative conduction is important. In the SC* phase, the dis…
Thin films of the iron-based superconductor BaFe2(As1-xPx)2 (Ba122:P) were fabricated on polycrystalline metal-tape substrates with two kinds of in-plane grain boundary alignments (well aligned (4 deg.) and poorly aligned (8 deg.)) by pulsed laser deposition. The poorly aligned substrate is not applicable to cuprate-coated conductors because the in-plane alignment >4 deg. results in exponential decay of the critical current density (Jc). The Ba122:P film exhibited higher Jc at 4 K when grown on the poorly aligned substrate than on the well-aligned substrate even though the crystallinity was po…
[100]-tilt grain-boundary YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) junctions are promising for investigation of macroscopic quantum phenomena in high-Tc Josephson junctions. However, fabrication of the [100]-tilt grain-boundary YBCO junctions with a high resistance, which are required to study quantum effects, is difficult because of a high transparency of a tunnel barrier in this type of junctions. Here, we demonstrate a modification of grain-boundary barrier properties with a new approach to an oxygen electromigration in the YBCO grain-boundary junctions when the oxygen diffuses under an applied electric field fr…
The microstructure of the MgB2 superconductor sintered at high temperature under a high pressure of about 3 GPa was investigated by using a high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The TEM images did not show any pores in the specimen. All grains were compactly connected, and no discernable empty spaces or impurities at the boundaries existed over the regions investigated. The HRTEM image showed clearly each constituent atom that formed the basal hexagonal plane, without any defect in a single grain. The a-axis lattice parameter, 0.307 nm, from this direct measurement was shor…
We report the effect of silver addition on superconducting performance of bulk YBCO (YBa2Cu3O7) superconductor. All the studied samples are prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. Rietveld fitted X-ray diffraction data confirmed the single phase formation for all the studied samples. Detailed AC susceptibility measurements as a function of driven AC amplitude (1Oe-17Oe) of these samples revealed the enhancement of grains coupling with increasing Ag content in YBCO+Agx composite system. 10wt% Ag added YBCO superconductors exhibited the optimum inter granular coupling. The Scanning…
