This paper examines the stability of thin-shell gravastars in the context of regular spacetimes (Bardeen and Bardeen-de Sitter black holes). We apply cut and paste approach to construct gravastars through the matching of interior non-singular de Sitter geometry with exterior regular black hole. This model contains three regions, i.e., interior, thin-shell and exterior. The interior and exterior regions are connected at thin-shell. We investigate physical viability of the developed model by the energy conditions and explore its stability by using radial perturbation about the equilibrium shell radius. It is found that thin-shell gravastars show large stable regions for the Bardeen-de Sitter black hole as compared to the Bardeen black hole. It is concluded that stable regions exist near the formation of expected event horizon.
New spherically symmetric gravastar solutions, stable to radial perturbations, are found by utilising the construction of Visser and Wiltshire. The solutions possess an anti--de Sitter or de Sitter interior and a Schwarzschild--(anti)--de Sitter or Reissner--Nordström exterior. We find a wide range of parameters which allow stable gravastar solutions, and present the different qualitative behaviours of the equation of state for these parameters.
We propose a new model of a gravastar in (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time. This new three dimensional configuration has three different regions with different equations of state: [I] Interior: 0 \leq r < r_1, ρ= -p ; [II] Shell: r_1 \leq r < r_2, ρ= p; [III] Exterior: r_2 < r, ρ= p =0. The outer region of this gravastar corresponds to the exterior (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time, popularly known as the BTZ space-time. Like BTZ model, Λis taken to be negative, which at the junction turns out to be positive as required by stability of gravastar and mathematical consistency. After investigating th…
In this paper, we are interested to explore stable configurations of $d$-dimensional gravastars constructed from the interior $d$-dimensional de Sitter and exterior $d$-dimensional Schwarzschild/Reissner-Nordström (de Sitter) black holes through cut and paste approach. We consider the linearized radial perturbation preserving the original symmetries to explore their stability by using three different types of matter distributions. The resulting frameworks represent unstable structures for barotropic, Chaplygin, and phantomlike models for every considered choice of exterior geometries. However,…
We solve Einstein's equations for slowly-rotating gravitational condensate stars (gravastars) up to second order in the rotation by expanding about the spherically symmetric gravastar with de Sitter interior and Schwarzschild exterior matched at their common horizon. Requiring that the perturbations are finite on the null surface reduces the exterior geometry to that of a Kerr black hole, implying that a slowly rotating gravastar cannot be distinguished from a Kerr black hole by any measurement or observation restricted to the macroscopic spacetime exterior to the horizon. We determine the int…
In the present work, we have discussed the four dimensional spherically symmetric steller system in the framework of modified $f(T)$ gravity theory with electro-magnetic field. The field equations have been written for two cases, either $T'=0$ or $f_{TT}=0$. Next we have discussed the charged gravastar model which has three regions: interior region, shell region and exterior region. In the interior region, we have found the solutions of all physical quantities like density, pressure, electro-magnetic field and also the metric coefficients for both the cases. For $T'=0$, gravastar cannot form b…
We consider the gravastar model where the vacuum phase transition between the de Sitter interior and the Schwarzschild or Schwarzschild-de Sitter exterior geometries takes place at a single spherical delta-shell. We derive sharp analytic bounds on the surface compactness (2m/r) that follow from the requirement that the dominant energy condition (DEC) holds at the shell. In the case of Schwarzschild exterior, the highest surface compactness is achieved with the stiff shell in the limit of vanishing (dark) energy density in the interior. In the case of Schwarzschild-de Sitter exterior, in additi…
In this paper, we discuss some feasible features of gravastar that were firstly demonstrated by Mazur and Mottola. It is already established that gravastar associates the de-Sitter spacetime in its inner sector with the Schwarzschild geometry at its exterior through the thin shell possessing the ultra-relativistic matter. We have explored the singularity free spherical model with a particular equation of state under the influence of $f(R,G)$ gravity, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar and $G$ is the Gauss-Bonnet term. The interior geometry is matched with a suitable exterior using Israel formalism.…
In recent work we physically interpreted a special gravastar solution characterized by a zero Schwarzschild mass. In fact, in that case, none gravastar was formed and the shell expanded, leaving behind a de Sitter or a Minkowski spacetime, or collapsed without forming an event horizon, originating what we called a massive non-gravitational object. This object has two components of non zero mass but the exterior spacetime is Minkowski or de Sitter. One of the component is a massive thin shell and the other one is de Sitter spacetime inside. The total mass of this object is zero Schwarzschild ma…
Here we generalized a previous model of gravastar consisted of an internal de Sitter spacetime, a dynamical infinitely thin shell with an equation of state, but now we consider an external de Sitter-Schwarzschild spacetime. We have shown explicitly that the final output can be a black hole, a "bounded excursion" stable gravastar, a stable gravastar, or a de Sitter spacetime, depending on the total mass of the system, the cosmological constants, the equation of state of the thin shell and the initial position of the dynamical shell. We have found that the exterior cosmological constant imposes …
We present a new model of gravastar in the higher dimensional Einsteinian spacetime including Einstein's cosmological constant $Λ$. Following Mazur and Mottola (2001,~2004) we obtain a set of solutions for gravastar. This gravastar is described by three different regions, namely, (I) Interior region, (II) Intermediate thin spherical shell and (III) Exterior region. The pressure within the interior region is equal to the negative matter density which provides a repulsive force over the shell. This thin shell is formed by ultra relativistic plasma, where the pressure is directly proportional to …
This paper discusses the configuration of gravitational vacuum star or gravastar with the impact of geometry and matter coupling present in $f(R,T)$ gravity. The gravastar is also conceptualized as a substitute for a black hole which is illustrated by three geometries known as (1) the interior geometry, (2) the intermediate thin-shell and (3) the exterior geometry. For a particular $f(R,T)$ model, we analyze these geometries corresponding to Kuchowicz metric function. We evaluate another metric potential for the interior domain as well as the intermediate shell which is non-singular for both d…
We propose a new model of a {\it gravastar} admitting conformal motion. While retaining the framework of the Mazur-Mottola model, the gravastar is assumed to be internally charged, with an exterior defined by a Reissner-Nordstr{ö}m rather than a Schwarzschild line element. The solutions obtained involve (i) the interior region, (ii) the shell, and (iii) the exterior region of the sphere. Of these three cases the first case is of primary interest since the total gravitational mass vanishes for vanishing charge and turns the total gravitational mass into an {\it electromagnetic mass} under certa…
This paper explores the possible existence of stable regions of bounded excursion gravastars in the background of regular black holes (Bardeen and Bardeen-de Sitter black holes). For this purpose, we match internal de Sitter geometry with an external regular black hole through an intermediate shell with an equation of state. The matter surface located at the shell greatly affects the dynamical configuration of the shell. We consider stiff and dust fluids to discuss the outcomes of the developed structures. We then determine the critical values of physical parameters at which the shell neither …
Considering a Vaidya exterior spacetime, we study dynamical models of prototype gravastars, made of an infinitely thin spherical shell of a perfect fluid with the equation of state $p = σ$, enclosing an interior de Sitter spacetime. We show explicitly that the final output can be a black hole, an unstable gravastar, a stable gravastar or a "bounded excursion" gravastar, depending on how the mass of the shell evolves in time, the cosmological constant and the initial position of the dynamical shell. This work presents, for the first time in the literature, a gravastar that emits radiation.
This paper studies the effects of charge on a peculiar stellar object, recognized as gravastar, under the influence of $f(R,T)$ gravity by considering the conjecture of Mazur and Mottola in general relativity. The gravastar is also known as an alternative to a black hole and is expressed by three distinct domains named as (i) the interior domain, (ii) the intermediate shell and (iii) the exterior domain. We analyze these domains for a specific $f(R,T)$ gravity model conceding the conformal Killing vectors. In the interior domain, we assume that pressure is equal to negative energy density whic…
In this paper we construct a charged thin-shell gravastar model within the context of noncommutative geometry. To do so, we choose the interior of the nonsingular de Sitter spacetime with an exterior charged noncommutative solution by cut-and-paste technique and apply the generalized junction conditions. We then investigate the stability of a charged thin-shell gravastar under linear perturbations around the static equilibrium solutions as well as the thermodynamical stability of the charged gravastar. We find the stability regions by choosing appropriate parameter values which is located suff…
This work is devoted to study the analytical and regular solutions of a particular self-gravitating object (i.e., gravastar) in a particular theory of gravity. We derive the corresponding field equations in the presence of effective energy momentum tensor associated with the perfect fluid configuration of a spherical system. We then describe the mathematical formulations of the three respective regions i.e., inner, shell and exterior of a gravastar separately. Additionally, the significance and physical characteristics along with the graphical representation of gravastars are discussed in deta…
Gravastars have been considered as a feasible alternative to black holes in the past couple of decades. Stable models of gravastar have been studied in many of the alternative gravity theories besides standard General Relativity (GR). The Rastall theory of gravity is a popular alternative to GR, specially in the cosmological and astrophysical context. Here, we propose a stellar model under the Rastall gravity following Mazur-Mottola's \cite{Mazur2001,Mazur2004} conjecture. The gravastar consists of three regions, viz., ($I$) Interior region, ($II$) Intermediate shell region, and ($III$) Exteri…
Here we constructed a charged gravastar model formed by an interior de Sitter spacetime, a charged dynamical infinitely thin shell with an equation of state and an exterior de Sitter-Reissner-Nordström spacetime. We find that the presence of the charge is crucial to the stability of these structures. It can as much favor the stability of a bounded excursion gravastar, and still converting it in a stable gravastar, as make disappear a stable gravastar, depending on the range of the charge considered. There is also formation of black holes and, above certain values, the presence of the charge al…
In this paper, we investigate the effects of electromagnetic field on the isotropic spherical gravastar models in metric $f(R,T)$ gravity. For this purpose, we have explored singularity-free exact models of relativistic spheres with a specific equation of state. After considering Reissner Nordström spacetime as an exterior region, the interior charged manifold is matched at the junction interface. Several viable realistic characteristics of the spherical gravastar model are studied in the presence of electromagnetic field through graphical representations. It is concluded that the electric cha…
Using the conventional gravastar model, that is, an object constituted by two components where one of them is a massive infinitely thin shell and the other one is a de Sitter interior spacetime, we physically interpret a solution characterized by a zero Schwarzschild mass. No stable gravastar is formed and it collapses without forming an event horizon, originating what we call a massive non-gravitational object. The most surprise here is that the collapse occurs with an exterior de Sitter vacuum spacetime. This creates an object which does not interact gravitationally with an outside test part…
We propose a stellar model under the $f(\mathbb{T},\mathcal{T})$ gravity following Mazur-Mottola's conjecture [Mazur (2001), Mazur (2004)] known as gravastar which is generally believed as a viable alternative to black hole. The gravastar consists of three regions, viz., (I) Interior region, (II) Intermediate shell region, and (III) Exterior region. The pressure within the interior core region is assumed to be equal to the constant negative matter-energy density which provides a constant repulsive force over the thin shell region. The shell is assumed to be made up of fluid of ultrarelativisti…
This work proposes a stellar model under Gauss-Bonnet $f(\mathcal{G}, T)$ gravity with the conjecture theorised by Mazur and Mottola, well known as the gravitational vacuum stars (gravastars). By taking into account the $f(\mathcal{G},T)$ stellar model, the structure of the gravastar with its exclusive division of three different regions namely, (i) the core interior region (ii) the junction region (shell), and (iii) the exterior region, has been investigated with reference to the existence of energy density, pressure, ultra-relativistic plasma, and repulsive forces. The different physical fea…
We propose a unique stellar model under the $f(R,\mathcal{T})$ gravity by using the conjecture of Mazur-Mottola [P. Mazur and E. Mottola, Report number: LA-UR-01-5067., P. Mazur and E. Mottola, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 101, 9545 (2004)] which is known as gravastar and a viable alternative to the black hole as available in literature. This gravastar is described by the three different regions, viz., (I) Interior core region, (II) Intermediate thin shell, and (III) Exterior spherical region. The pressure within the interior region is equal to the constant negative matter density which provides…
This paper develops a new solution of gravitational vacuum star in the background of charged Kiselev black holes as an exterior manifold. We explore physical features and stability of thin-shell gravastars with radial perturbation. The matter thin layer located at thin-shell greatly affects stable configuration of the developed structure. We assume three different choices of matter distribution such as barotropic, generalized Chaplygin gas and generalized phantomlike equation of state. The last two models depend on the shell radius, also known as variable equation of state. For barotropic mode…
In the present paper we propose a stellar model under the $f(\mathbb{T})$ gravity following the conjecture of Mazur-Mottola~[Report number: LA-UR-01-5067 (2001); Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 101 (2004) 9545] known in literature as {\it gravastar}, a viable alternative to the black hole. This gravastar has three different regions, viz., (A) Interior core region, (B) Intermediate thin shell, and (C) Exterior spherical region. It is assumed that in the interior region the fluid pressure is equal to a negative matter-energy density providing a constant repulsive force over the spherical thin shell. …
This is a continuation and generalization of our earlier work on {\it gravastar} in (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time to 2+1 dimensional solution of charged gravastar. Morphologically this gravastar contains three regions namely: (i) charged interior, (ii) charged shell and (iii) electrovacuum exterior. We have studied different characteristics in terms of Length and Energy, Entropy, and Junction conditions of the spherical charged distribution. It is shown that the present model of charged gravastar is non-singular and represents itself an alternative of Black Hole.
We construct the solutions of slowly rotating gravastars with a thin shell. In the zero-rotation limit, we consider the gravastar composed of a de Sitter core, a thin shell, and Schwarzschild exterior spacetime. The rotational effects are treated as small axisymmetric and stationary perturbations. The perturbed internal and external spacetimes are matched with a uniformly rotating thin shell. We assume that the angular velocity of the thin shell, $Ω$, is much smaller than the Keplerian frequency of the nonrotating gravastar, $Ω_k$. The solutions within an accuracy up to the second order of $Ω/…
This paper studies the influence of charge on a compact stellar structure also regarded as vacuum condensate star in the background of $f(\mathfrak{R},\mathcal{T}^{2})$ gravity. This object is considered the alternate of black hole whose structure involves three distinct regions, i.e., interior, exterior and thin-shell. We analyze these domains of a gravastar for a particular model of this modified theory. In the inner region of a gravastar, the considered equation of state defines that energy density is equal to negative pressure which is the cause of repulsive force on the spherical shell. I…
Direct observation of black holes is one of the grand challenges in astronomy. If there are super-compact objects which possess unstable circular orbits of photons, however, it may be difficult to distinguish them from black holes by observing photons. As a model of super-compact objects, we consider a gravastar (gravitational-vacuum-star) which was originally proposed by Mazur and Mottola. For definiteness, we adopt a spherical thin-shell model of a gravastar developed by Visser and Wiltshire, which connects interior de-Sitter geometry and exterior Schwarzschild geometry. We find that unstabl…
The Bañados, Teitelboim and Zanelli \cite{BTZ1992}, black hole solution is revamped from the Einstein field equations in (2 + 1)-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime, in a context of noncommutative geometry \cite{Rahaman(2013)}. In this article, we explore the exact gravastar solutions in three-dimension anti-de Sitter space given in the same geometry. As a first step we derive BTZ solution assuming the source of energy density as point-like structures in favor of smeared objects, where the particle mass M, is diffused throughout a region of linear size $\sqrtα$ and is described by a Gaussian …

Gravastar models have recently been proposed as an alternative to black holes, mainly to avoid the pro\-ble\-ma\-tic issues associated with event horizons and singularities. In this work, a regular variety of gravastar models within the context of Einstein-Born-Infeld (EBI) nonlinear electrodynamics are builded. These models presented here are truly regular in the sense that both the metric and its derivatives are continuous throughout space-time, contrary to other cases in the literature where matching conditions are necessary in the interior and exterior regions of the event horizon. We inve…
We consider a model of Bose-Einstein condensate of weakly interacting off-shell gravitons in the regime that is far from the quantum critical point. Working in static spherically symmetric setup, recent study has demonstrated that the effective spacetime geometry of this condensate is a gravastar. In this paper we make three generalizations: introducing a composite of two sets of off-shell gravitons with different wavelength to enable richer geometries for the interior and exterior spacetimes, working in $f({\mathcal R})$ gravity, and extending the calculations to higher dimensions. We find th…
In this work, we find exact gravastar solutions in the context of noncommutative geometry, and explore their physical properties and characteristics. The energy density of these geometries is a smeared and particle-like gravitational source, where the mass is diffused throughout a region of linear dimension $\sqrt{(α)}$ due to the intrinsic uncertainty encoded in the coordinate commutator. These solutions are then matched to an exterior Schwarzschild spacetime. We further explore the dynamical stability of the transition layer of these gravastars, for the specific case of $β=M^2/α<1.9$, where …
Estimating the mass of the thin shell of gravastars in generalised cylindrically symmetric space-time within the framework of Rastall theory of gravity
We consider a way to avoid black hole singularities by gluing a black hole exterior to an interior with a tube-like geometry consisting of a direct product of two-dimensional AdS, dS, or Rindler spacetime with a two-sphere of constant radius. As a result we obtain a spacetime with either "cosmological" or "acceleration" (event) horizons but without an apparent horizon. The inner region is everywhere regular and supported by matter with the vacuum-like equation of state $p_{r}+ρ=0$ where $p_{r}=T_{r}^{r}$ is the longitudinal pressure, $ρ=-T_{0}^{0}$ is the energy density, $T_μ^ν$ is the stress-…
Gravastars, hypothetic astrophysical objects, consisting of a dark energy condensate surrounded by a strongly correlated thin shell of anisotropic matter, have been proposed as an alternative to the standard black hole picture of general relativity. Observationally distinguishing between astrophysical black holes and gravastars is a major challenge for this latter theoretical model. In the context of stationary and axially symmetrical geometries, a possibility of distinguishing gravastars from black holes is through the comparative study of thin accretion disks around rotating gravastars and K…
