We generalize the classic Fourier transform operator $\mathcal{F}_{p}$ by using the Henstock-Kurzweil integral theory. It is shown that the operator equals the $HK$-Fourier transform on a dense subspace of $\mathcal{ L}^p$, $1<p\leq 2$. In particular, a theoretical scope of this representation is raised to approximate numerically the Fourier transform of functions on the mentioned subspace. Besides, we show differentiability of the Fourier transform function $\mathcal{F}_{p}(f)$ under more general conditions than in Lebesgue's theory.
In this paper we prove pointwise and distributional Fourier transform inversion theorems for functions on the real line that are locally of bounded variation, while in a neighbourhood of infinity are Lebesgue integrable or have polynomial growth. We also allow the Fourier transform to exist in the principal value sense. A function is called regulated if it has a left limit and a right limit at each point. The main inversion theorem is obtained by solving the differential equation $df(t)-iωf(t)=g(t)$ for a regulated function $f$, where $ω$ is a complex number with positive imaginary part. This …
In this work, we obtain the Fourier transform of the first derivative of the generalized logistic growth curve in terms of Gamma functions and we discuss special cases.
In this paper, a product formula for the one-dimensional $(k,a)$-generalized Fourier kernel is given for $k\geq0$, $a>0$ and $2k>a-1$, extending the special case when $a=\frac{2}{n}$, $n\in \mathbb{N}$.
We prove a Calderón-Zygmund type estimate which can be applied to sharpen known regularity results on spherical means, Fourier integral operators and generalized Radon transforms.
In this paper, we study the generalized Clifford-Fourier transform introduced in [6] using the Laplace transform technique. We give explicit expressions in the even dimensional case, we obtain polynomial bounds for the kernel functions and establish a generating function.
In metrics of spaces $L_{s}, \ 1\leq s\leq\infty$, we find asymptotic equalities for upper bounds of approximations by Fourier sums on classes of generalized Poisson integrals of periodic functions, which belong to unit ball of space $L_{1}$.
For functions from the set of generalized Poisson integrals $C^{α,r}_βL_{p}$, $1\leq p <\infty$, we obtain upper estimates for the deviations of Fourier sums in the uniform metric in terms of the best approximations of the generalized derivatives $f^{α,r}_β$ of functions of this kind by trigonometric polynomials in the metric of the spaces $L_{p}$. Obtained estimates are asymptotically best possible.
We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on weights for the generalized Fourier-type transforms to be bounded between weighted $L^p-L^q$ spaces. As an important example, we investigate transforms with kernel of power type, as for instance the sine, Hankel or $\mathscr{H}_α$ transforms. The obtained necessary and sufficient conditions are given in terms of weights, but not in terms of their decreasing rearrangements, as in several previous investigations.
We find asymptotic equalities for exact upper bounds of approximations by Fourier sums in uniform metric on classes of $2π$-periodic functions, representable in the form of convolutions of functions $φ$, which belong to unit balls of spaces $L_{p}$, with generalized Poisson kernels. For obtained asymptotic equalities we introduce the estimates of remainder, which are expressed in the explicit form via the parameters of the problem.
In this paper we establish Lebesgue-type inequalities for $2π$-periodic functions $f$, which are defined by generalized Poisson integrals of the functions $φ$ from $L_{p}$, $1\leq p< \infty$. In these inequalities uniform norms of deviations of Fourier sums $\| f-S_{n-1} \|_{C}$ are expressed via best approximations $E_{n}(φ)_{L_{p}}$ of functions $φ$ by trigonometric polynomials in the metric of space $L_{p}$. We show that obtained estimates are asymptotically best possible.
In this paper, a new method is developed to obtain explicit and integral expressions for the kernel of the $(κ, a)$-generalized Fourier transform for $κ=0$. In the case of dihedral groups, this method is also applied to the Dunkl kernel as well as the Dunkl Bessel function. The method uses the introduction of an auxiliary variable in the series expansion of the kernel, which is subsequently Laplace transformed. The kernel in the Laplace domain takes on a much simpler form, by making use of the Poisson kernel. The inverse Laplace transform can then be computed using the generalized Mittag-Leffl…
A principal shift invariant subspace of $L^{2}(\IR)$ is isometric to a weighted norm space $L^{2}(\IT, w)$. Using results obtained earlier by the author on the basis properties of subsystems of the trigonometric system in the weighted norm spaces $L^{2}(\IT, w)$ we obtain corresponding results concerning generators of principal shift invariant subspaces.
Our purpose in this present paper is to investigate generalized integration formulas containing the generalized $k$-Bessel function $W_{v,c}^{k}(z)$ to obtain the results in representation of Wright-type function. Also, we establish certain special cases of our main result.
In this paper, we prove the Hardy-Littlewood inequality for the generalized Fourier transform on Chébli-Triméche hypergroups and we study in the particular case of the Jacobi hypergroup the integrability of this transform on Besov-type spaces.
Two integral operator involving the Appell's functions, or Horn's function in the kernel are considered. Composition of such functions with generalized Bessel functions of the first kind are expressed in term of generalized Wright function and generalized hypergeometric series. Many special cases, including cosine and sine function are also discussed.
We study the two-parameter family of unitary operators \[ \mathcal{F}_{k,a}=\exp\Bigl(\frac{iπ}{2a}\,(2\langle k\rangle+{d}+a-2 )\Bigr) \exp\Bigl(\frac{iπ}{2a}\,Δ_{k,a}\Bigr), \] which are called $(k,a)$-generalized Fourier transforms and defined by the $a$-deformed Dunkl harmonic oscillator $Δ_{k,a}=|x|^{2-a}Δ_{k}-|x|^{a}$, $a>0$, where $Δ_{k}$ is the Dunkl Laplacian. Particular cases of such operators are the Fourier and Dunkl transforms. The restriction of $\mathcal{F}_{k,a}$ to radial functions is given by the $a$-deformed Hankel transform $H_{λ,a}$. We obtain necessary and sufficient cond…
A trigonometric series strongly bounded at two points and with coefficients forming a log-quasidecreasing sequence is necessarily the Fourier series of a function belonging to all $L^{p}$ spaces, $1\leq p < \infty$. We obtain new results on strong convergence of Fourier series for functions of generalized bounded variation.
In this present paper our aim is to deal with two integral transforms which involving the Gauss hypergeometric function as its kernels. We prove some compositions formulas for such a generalized fractional integrals with k Bessel function. The results are established in terms of generalized Wright type hypergeometric function and generalized hypergeometric series. Also, the authors presented some corresponding assertions for Riemann Liouville and Erdelyi Kober fractional integral transforms.
For the kernel $B_{κ,a}(x,y)$ of the $(κ,a)$-generalized Fourier transform $\mathcal{F}_{κ,a}$, acting in $L^{2}(\mathbb{R}^{d})$ with the weight $|x|^{a-2}v_κ(x)$, where $v_κ$ is the Dunkl weight, we study the important question of when $\|B_{κ,a}\|_{\infty}=B_{κ,a}(0,0)=1$. The positive answer was known for $d\ge 2$ and $\frac{2}{a}\in\mathbb{N}$. We investigate the case $d=1$ and $\frac{2}{a}\in\mathbb{N}$. Moreover, we give sufficient conditions on parameters for $\|B_{κ,a}\|_{\infty}>1$ to hold with $d\ge 1$ and any $a$. We also study the image of the Schwartz space under the $\mathcal{F}…
These brief lecture notes are intended mainly for undergraduate students in engineering or physics or mathematics who have met or will soon be meeting the Dirac delta function and some other objects related to it. These students might have already felt - or might in the near future feel - not entirely comfortable with the usual intuitive explanations about how to "integrate" or "differentiate" or take the "Fourier transform" of these objects. These notes will reveal to these students that there is a precise and rigorous way, and this also means a more useful and reliable way, to define these o…
Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained on the function $M$ such that $\{ M(x,y) e^{i kx}e^{i my}: (k,m)\in Ω\}$ is complete and minimal in $L^{p}(\mathbb{T}^{2})$ when $Ω^{c}=\{(0,0)\}$ and $Ω^{c} = 0\times\mathbb{Z}$. If $Ω^{c} = 0\times\mathbb{Z}_{0},$ $\mathbb{Z}_{0} = \mathbb{Z}\setminus\{0\}$ it is proved that the system $\{ M(x,y) e^{i kx}e^{i my}: (k,m)\in Ω\}$ cannot be complete minimal in $L^{p}(\mathbb{T}^{2})$ for any $M\in L^{p}(\mathbb{T}^{2})$. In the case, $Ω^{c}=\{(0,0)\}$ necessary and conditions are found in terms of the one-dimensional case.
We prove that non-trivial bounds for generalized Radon transforms imply correspondingly non-trivial discrete incidence theorems for manifolds and suitably regular point sets.
We consider a generalized version of the sign uncertainty principle for the Fourier transform, first proposed by Bourgain, Clozel and Kahane in 2010 and revisited by Cohn and Gonçalves in 2019. In our setup, the signs of a function and its Fourier transform resonate with a generic given function $P$ outside of a ball. One essentially wants to know if and how soon this resonance can happen, when facing a suitable competing weighted integral condition. The original version of the problem corresponds to the case $P \equiv 1$. Surprisingly, even in such a rough setup, we are able to identify sharp…
We obtain several versions of the Hausdorff-Young and Hardy-Littlewood inequalities for the $(k,a)$-generalized Fourier transform recently investigated at length by Ben Saï d, Kobayashi, and Ø rsted. We also obtain a number of weighted inequalities - in particular Pitt's inequality - that have application to uncertainty principles. Specifically we obtain several analogs of the Heisenberg-Pauli-Weyl principle for $L^p$-functions, local Cowling-Price-type inequalities, Donoho-Stark-type inequalities and qualitative extensions. We finally use the Hausdorff-Young inequality as a means to obtain en…
Partial Fourier transforms are used to find explicit formulas for two remarkable fundamental solutions for a generalized Tricomi operator. These fundamental solutions reflect clearly the mixed type of the operator. In order to prove these results, we establish explicit formulas for Fourier transforms of some type of Bessel functions.
The Howe dual pair (sl(2),O(m)) allows the characterization of the classical Fourier transform (FT) on the space of rapidly decreasing functions as the exponential of a well-chosen element of sl(2) such that the Helmholtz relations are satisfied. In this paper we first investigate what happens when instead we consider exponentials of elements of the universal enveloping algebra of sl(2). This leads to a complete class of generalized Fourier transforms, that all satisfy properties similar to the classical FT. There is moreover a finite subset of transforms which very closely resemble the FT. We…
Quaternion-valued signals along with quaternion Fourier transforms (QFT)provide an effective framework for vector-valued signal and image processing. However, the sampling theory of quaternion valued signals has not been well developed. In this paper, we present the generalized sampling expansions associated with QFT by using the generalized translation and convolution. We show that a σ-bandlimited quaternion valued signal in QFT sense can be reconstructed from the samples of output signals of M linear systems based on QFT. Quaternion linear canonical transform (QLCT) is a generalization of QF…
In the main part of the paper, on the basis of contour integration of complex meromorphic functions whose singularities lie onto an integration contour, in the first step, a concept of improper integrals absolute existence of meromorphic functions, as more general one with respect to the concept of improper integrals convergence (existence), is introduced into analysis. In the second step, in the case when a modulus of complex parameter tends to infinity, an interval of improper integrals convergence of parametric meromorphic functions is defined. In accordance with this, it is shown that the …
Based on Guillemin's work on gauged Lagrangian distributions, we will introduce the notion of a poly-$\log$-homogeneous distribution as an approach to $ζ$-functions for a class of Fourier Integral Operators which includes cases of amplitudes with asymptotic expansion $\sum_{k\in\mathbb{N}}a_{m_k}$ where each $a_{m_k}$ is $\log$-homogeneous with degree of homogeneity $m_k$ but violating $\Re(m_k)\to-\infty$. We will calculate the Laurent expansion for the $ζ$-function and give formulae for the coefficients in terms of the phase function and amplitude as well as investigate generalizations to th…
Consider the Fourier transform on the group $GL(2,R)$ of real $2\times 2$-matrices. We show that Fourier-images of polynomial differential operators on $GL(2,R)$ are differential-difference operators with coefficients meromorphic in parameters of representations. Expressions for operators contain shifts in imaginary direction with respect to the integration contour in the Plancherel formula. We present explicit formulas for images of partial derivations and multiplications by coordinates.
