The last decade of hadron spectroscopy has unveiled a wealth of states that do not have the properties expected of particles composed of two or three valence quarks. Among the most intriguing of these exotics is the $χ_{c1}(3872)$, which various models attempt to describe as a hadronic molecule, a compact tetraquark, an unexpected charmonium state, or their mixtures. To date, most experimental studies of the $χ_{c1}(3872)$ have focused on its production through $B$ meson decays. Heavy ion collisions, as well as high multiplicity $pp$ collisions, offer a new window on the properties of this poorly understood hadron. In these systems, promptly produced $χ_{c1}(3872)$ hadrons can interact with other particles in the nucleus and/or those produced in the collision. The influence of these interactions on the observed $χ_{c1}(3872)$ yields provides information that can help discriminate between the various models of its structure, as well as give insight into the dynamics of the bulk particles produced in these collisions. With a full range of precision vertexing, tracking, and particle ID capabilities covering 2 to 5 in units of rapidity, the LHCb experiment is especially well suited to measurements of both prompt and non-prompt exotic hadrons. These proceedings present new LHCb measurements $χ_{c1}(3872)$ production in high multiplicity $pp$ collisions and $p$Pb collisions through the decay to $J/ψπ^{+} π^{-}$.
In this study, we investigate the discovery potential of double-charm tetraquarks $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{q}\bar{q}']}$. We find that their production cross sections at the LHCb with $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV reach $\mathcal{O}(10^4)$ pb, which indicates that the LHCb has collected $\mathcal{O}(10^8)$ such particles. Through the decay channels of $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{u}\bar{d}]}\to D^{+}K^{-}π^{+}$ or $D^0D^+γ$ (if stable) or $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{u}\bar{d}]}\to D^0D^{*+}\to D^0D^0π^+$ (if unstable), it is highly expected that they get discovered at the LHCb in the near future. We also discuss the productions…
Exotic resonant structures found in $Λ^0_b$ and $\overline{B}^0$ decays into charmonium in the LHCb experiment are discussed. Examination of the $J/ψp$ system in $Λ^0_b\to J/ψK^- p$ decays shows two states each of which must be composed of $uudc\overline{c}$ quarks, and thus are called charmonium pentaquarks. Their masses are $4380\pm 8\pm 29$~MeV and $4449.8\pm 1.7\pm 2.5$~MeV, and their corresponding widths ($Γ$) are $205\pm 18\pm 86$ MeV, and $39\pm 5\pm 19$ MeV. The preferred $J^P$ assignments are of opposite parity, with one state having spin 3/2 and the other 5/2. Models of internal bind…
Inspired by recent measurement of possible fully charmed tetraquarks in LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the mass spectra of fully heavy tetraquarks $QQ \bar Q \bar Q$ in an extended relativized quark model. Our estimations indicate that the broad structure around 6.4 GeV should contain one or more ground $cc \bar c \bar c$ tetraquark states, while the narrow structure near 6.9 GeV can be categorized as the first radial excitation of $cc \bar c \bar c$ system. Moreover, with the wave functions of the tetraquarks and mesons, the strong decays of tetraquarks into heavy quarkonium pair are qual…
Beauty tetraquark states $X(\bar b q'q'' \bar q )$ composed of $ \bar b s u \bar d$, $\bar b d s \bar u$, and $\bar b u d \bar s$, are unique that all the four valence quarks are different. Although the claim of existence of the first two states by D0 was not confirmed by data from LHCb, the possibility of such states still generated a lot of interests and should be pursued further. Non-observation of $X(\bar b q'q'' \bar q )$ states by LHCb may be just due to a still lower production rate than the limit of LHCb or at some different mass ranges. In this work we use light quark $SU(3)$ flavor s…
In this talk, we briefly report the investigations of the mass spectra for the $cc\bar c\bar c, bb\bar b\bar b$, $bc\bar b\bar c$ and $cc\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark states by using the QCD moment sum rule method. The calculations for the fully-charm $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks have been successfully predicted the existence of di-$J/ψ$ resonances including $X(6900)$ in LHCb's observation. The quantum numbers for these resonance structures are also suggested. More efforts are still needed in both theoretical and experimental aspects to study the properties of these fully-heavy tetraquark states. T…
We discuss the production mechanism of a new state, a putative fully charm tetraquark, observed recently by the LHCb at M = 6.9 GeV in the $J/ψJ/ψ$ channel. Both single parton scattering (SPS) and double parton scattering (DPS) mechanisms are considered. We calculate the distribution in the invariant mass of the four-quark system $M_{4c}$ for SPS and DPS production of $c c \bar c \bar c$ in the $k_t$-factorization approach with modern unintegrated gluon distribution functions (UGDFs). The so-calculated contribution of DPS is almost two orders of magnitude larger than the SPS one, but the tetra…
Motivated by the observation of exotic structure around 6900MeV in the $J/ψ$-pair mass spectrum using proton-proton collision data by the LHCb collaboration, we study the spectra of fully-heavy tetraquarks within Bethe-Salpeter equation and Regge trajectory relation. The $X(6900)$ may be explained as a radially excited state with quark content $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ and spin-parity $0^{++}(3S)$ or $2^{++}(3S)$ or an orbitally excited $2P$ state. New $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ structures around 6.0GeV, 6.5GeV, and 7.1GeV are predicted together. Other $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ and $bc\bar{b}\bar{c}$ structures whi…

Stimulated by the newly reported doubly-charmed tetraquark state $T_{cc}^+$ by LHCb, we carry out a systematic investigation of the $S$-wave interactions between the charmed meson ($D,\,D^{*}$) in $H$-doublet and the charmed meson ($D_{1},\,D_{2}^{*}$) in $T$-doublet by adopting the one-boson-exchange model. Both the $S$-$D$ wave mixing effect and the coupled channel effect are taken into account. By performing a quantitative calculation, we suggest that the $S$-wave $D^{*} D_{1}$ states with $I(J^{P})=0(0^{-},\,1^{-})$ and the $S$-wave $D^{*}D_{2}^{*}$ state with $I(J^{P})=0(1^{-})$ should be…
The past seventeen years have witnessed tremendous progress on the experimental and theoretical explorations of the multiquark states. The hidden-charm and hidden-bottom multiquark systems were reviewed extensively in [Phys. Rept. 639 (2016) 1-121]. In this article, we shall update the experimental and theoretical efforts on the hidden heavy flavor multiquark systems in the past three years. Especially the LHCb collaboration not only confirmed the existence of the hidden-charm pentaquarks but also provided strong evidence of the molecular picture. Besides the well-known $XYZ$ and $P_c$ states,…
Recently a novel hadronic state of mass 6.9 GeV, that decays mainly to a pair of charmonia, was observed in LHCb. The data also reveals a broader structure centered around 6490 MeV and suggests another unconfirmed resonance centered at around 7240 MeV, very near to the threshold of two doubly charmed $Ξ_{cc}$ baryons. We argue in this note that these exotic hadrons are genuine tetraquarks and not molecules of charmonia. It is conjectured that they are V-baryonium tetraquarks, namely, have an inner structure of a baryonic vertex with a $cc$ diquark attached to it, which is connected by a string…
Recently the LHCb Collaboration announced the first observation of nontrivial structures in the double-$J/ψ$ mass spectrum in the mass range 6.2-7.2 GeV, and a theoretical coupled-channel analysis of these data performed in Phys. Rev. Lett. 126, 132001 (2021) evidenced the existence of a new state $X(6200)$ close to the double-$J/ψ$ threshold. Although its molecular interpretation seems the most plausible assumption, the present data do not exclude an admixture of a compact component in its wave function, for which a fully-charmed compact tetraquark is the most natural candidate. It is argued …
Bose-Einstein correlations for same-sign charged pions and kinematic b-bbar correlations in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 and 8 TeV are studied by the LHCb experiment. The dependence of Bose-Einstein correlation parameters on the charged-particle multiplicity is investigated. The correlation radius is observed to increase with multiplicity, while the chaoticity parameter decreases. The b-bbar correlations are studied using inclusive b quark decays to jpsi and are found to be in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
The LHCb experiment is designed to study the decays and properties of heavy flavoured hadrons produced in the forward region from proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. During Run 1, it has recorded the world's largest data sample of beauty and charm hadrons, enabling precise studies into the spectroscopy of such particles, including discoveries of new states and measurements of their masses, widths and quantum numbers. An overview of recent LHCb results in the area of exotic hadron spectroscopy is presented, focussing on the discovery of the first pentaquark states in the…
We investigate the production of the fully - heavy tetraquark states $T_{4Q}$ in the $γγ$ interactions present in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We focus on the $γγ\rightarrow {\cal{Q}}{\cal{Q}}$ (${\cal{Q}} = J/ψ,\, Υ$) subprocess, mediated by the $T_{4Q}$ resonance in the $s$ - channel, and present predictions for the hadronic cross sections considering the kinematical ranges probed by the ALICE and LHCb Collaborations. Our results demonstrate that the experimental study of this process is feasible and can be used to inve…
The LHCb Collaboration has reported resonant activity in the channel $D^+ K^-$, identifying two components: $X_0(2900)$ with $J^P = 0^+$ at $2866 {\pm} 7$ MeV, $Γ_0=57{\pm} 13$ MeV and $X_1(2900)$ with $J^P = 1^-$ at $2904 {\pm} 7$ MeV, $Γ_1=110{\pm} 12$ MeV. We interpret the $X_0(2900)$ component as a $cs \bar u\bar d$ isosinglet compact tetraquark, calculating its mass to be $2863 {\pm} 12$ MeV. This is the first exotic hadron with open heavy flavor. The analogous $bs\bar u\bar d$ tetraquark is predicted at $6213 {\pm} 12$ MeV. We discuss possible interpretations of the heavier and wider $X_…
Four exotic charmonium-like states, i.e. $X(4140)$, $X(4274)$, $X(4500)$, and $X(4700)$, have been observed very recently by LHCb Collaboration in the decay process $B^+\to J/ψϕK^+$ using the 3${\rm fb}^{-1}$ data of $p\bar p$ collision at $\sqrt s= 7$ and $8$ TeV. In this paper, we investigate systematically the properties of hidden charm tetraquark states. The hidden charm tetraquarks form an octet configuration and a singlet configuration according to flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry. Based on a diquark-antidiquark model, the hidden charm tetraquarks spectra are given. The previous XYZ exotic states…
Motivated by the LHCb's very recent observation of exotic $X_{0}(2900)$ in the $B^{+}\rightarrow D^{+}D^{-}K^{+}$ process, for which could be a good open charm $ud\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark candidate, we endeavor to investigate its possibility by means of QCD sum rules. In technique, four configurations of interpolating currents with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ are studied for the $ud\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark state. In the end, mass values are calculated to be $2.76^{+0.16}_{-0.23}~\mbox{GeV}$ for the axial vector diquark-axial vector antidiquark configuration and $2.75^{+0.15}_{-0.24}~\mbox{GeV}$ for the …
In the past decade many charmonium-like states were observed experimentally. Especially those charged charmonium-like $Z_c$ states and bottomonium-like $Z_b$ states can not be accommodated within the naive quark model. These charged $Z_c$ states are good candidates of either the hidden-charm tetraquark states or molecules composed of a pair of charmed mesons. Recently, the LHCb Collaboration discovered two hidden-charm pentaquark states, which are also beyond the quark model. In this work, we review the current experimental progress and investigate various theoretical interpretations of these …
The hidden-charm tetraquarks with strangeness, $c\bar{c}s\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d)$, in $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$ are systematically investigated in the framework of real- and complex-scaling range of a chiral quark model, whose parameters have been fixed in advance describing hadron, hadron-hadron and multiquark phenomenology. Each tetraquark configuration, compatible with the quantum numbers studied, is taken into account; this includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of quarks with all possible color wave functions in four-body sector. Among the different numerical techn…
We investigate the structure $X(4630)$ discovered by the LHCb collaboration in the process $B^{+}\rightarrow J/ψϕK^{+}$ as a resonance in the $ J/ψϕ$ mass distribution. We explore this resonance as a diquark-antidiquark state $X=[cs][\overline{c}\overline{s}]$ with spin-parities $J^{\mathrm{PC}}=1^{-+}$. Its mass and current coupling are calculated using the QCD two-point sum rule method by taking into account vacuum condensates up to dimension $10$. We also study decays of this tetraquark to mesons $J/ψϕ$, $η_{c}η^{(\prime )}$, and $χ_{c1}η^{(\prime )}$, and compute partial widths of these ch…
We have systematically calculated the mass spectra for S-wave and P-wave fully-charm $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ and fully-bottom $b\bar{b}b\bar{b}$ tetraquark states in the $\mathbf{8}_{[Q\bar{Q}]}\otimes \mathbf{8}_{[Q\bar{Q}]}$ color configuration, by using the moment QCD sum rule method. The masses for the fully-charm $c\bar cc\bar c$ tetraquark states are predicted about $6.3-6.5$ GeV for S-wave channels and $7.0-7.2$ GeV for P-wave channels. These results suggest the possibility that there are some $\mathbf{8}_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes \mathbf{8}_{[c\bar{c}]}$ components in LHCb's di-$J/ψ$ structures. …
We consider $X(3872)$ and $Y(4140)$ as the vector tetraquark states of $X_c^0\equiv c\bar c u\bar u(d\bar d)$ and $c\bar c s\bar s$, respectively. By connecting $Λ_b\to X_c^0Λ$ to $B^-\to X_c^0 K^-$, we predict that the branching ratios of $Λ_b\to Λ(X(3872)^0\to) J/ψπ^+π^-$ and $Λ_b\to Λ(Y(4140)\to) J/ψϕ$ are $(5.2\pm 1.8)\times 10^{-6}$ and $(4.7\pm 2.6)\times 10^{-6}$, which are accessible to the experiments at the LHCb, respectively. The measurements of these $Λ_b$ modes would be the first experimental evidences for the $XYZ$ states in baryonic decays.
Studies in the forward region of charged particle multiplicity and density, as well as energy flow, are presented. These measurements are performed using data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, collected with the LHCb detector. The results are compared to predictions from a variety of Monte Carlo event generators and are used to test underlying event and hadronization models as well as the performance of event generator tunes in the forward region.
The low-lying $sQ\bar{q}\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d,\, Q=c,\,b)$ tetraquark states with $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$, and in the isoscalar and isovector sectors, are systematically investigated in the framework of real- and complex-scaling range of a chiral quark model, whose parameters have been fixed in advance describing hadron, hadron-hadron and multiquark phenomenology, and thus all results presented here are pure predictions. Each tetraquark configuration, compatible with the quantum numbers studied, is taken into account; this includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of qu…
The LHCb detector with its unique pseudorapidity coverage allows to perform soft-QCD measurements in the kinematic forward region where QCD models have large uncertainties. Selected analyses related to soft-Diffraction will be summarised in these proceedings. Energy flow and charged particle multiplicity have been measured separately in different event classes. They give input for modelling the underlying event in pp collisions. Prompt hadron ratios are important for hadronisation models, while the $\bar p/p$ ratio is a good observable to test models of baryon number transport.
Recently, LHCb observed a double-charmed tetraquark candidate $T_{cc}^+$ and claimed its isospin to be zero due to the absence of $T_{cc}^{++}$. However, the absence of the $T_{cc}^{++}$ in LHCb may be due to their low production in $pp$ collisions, thus the isospin of $T_{cc}^+$ still needs to be clarified. We propose an efficient way to investigate the isospin property of $T_{cc}^+$ from the Dalitz plot distribution of $T_{cc}^+\to D^+D^0π^0$. This method can also be applied to other exotic candidates.
The $X(6900)$ resonance, very recently discovered in the double-$J/ψ$ channel at LHCb experiment, has spurred intensive interest in unravelling the nature of the fully charmed tetraquark state. The aim of this paper is to present a model-independent theoretical framework to study the inclusive production of this novel species of exotic hadrons, the resonances composed of four heavy quark (commonly referred to as $T_{4c}$), at large $p_T$ in hadron collision experiments. Appealing to asymptotic freedom and the fact $m_c\gg Λ_{\rm QCD}$, we propose that the nonpertubative yet universal gluon-to-…
Inspired by the recent observation of $χ_{c0}(3930)$, $X(4685)$ and $X(4630)$ by the LHCb Collaboration and some exotic resonances such as $X(4350)$, $X(4500)$, etc. by several experiment collaborations, the $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark systems with $IJ^{P}=00^+$, $01^+$ and $02^+$ are systematically investigated in the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model(QDCSM). Two structures, the meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark structures, as well as the channel-coupling of all channels of these two configurations are considered in this work. The numerical results indicate that …
The LHCb experiment at the LHC is fully instrumented over a unique pseudorapidity range in the forward region. Although it has been designed for b-physics, LHCb is able to provide valuable informations on particle production in this region of phase space. Therefore QCD studies have been performed with the LHCb detector on pp collisions at \sqrt(s)=900 GeV and \sqrt(s)=7 TeV. The measurement of charged particles multiplicity at \sqrt{s}=7 TeV}, \bar(Lambda)/Lambda, \bar(Lambda)/K_s^0 production ratios at \sqrt(s)=900 GeV and \sqrt(s)=7 TeV, as well as light hadrons (p,K,pi) production ratios at…
Vector meson photoproduction at high energies has attracted increased interest in recent years due to the unique kinematical ranges offered by the LHC experiments. The ALICE and LHCb collaborations have provided measurements of vector meson photoproduction on nuclear and proton targets, i.e. off p, Pb and Xe targets. The large data sets available from LHC Run 2 allow for more differential measurements. The ALICE and LHCb collaborations have recently provided measurements of coherent \jpsi in \PbPb ultra-peripheral collisions (UPC). In addition, the former also reports the first measurement of …
Ultra-peripheral heavy ion collisions constitute an ideal setup to look for exotic hadrons because of their low event multiplicity and the possibility of an efficient background rejection. We propose to look for four-quark states produced by photon-photon fusion in these collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.5~{\rm TeV}$. In particular, we focus on those states that would represent a definite smoking gun for the compact tetraquark model. We show that the $X(6900)$, a likely $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ compact state, is a perfect candidate for this search, and estimat…
Motivated by the latest discovery of a new tetraquark $T_{cc}^+$ with two charm quarks and two light antiquarks by LHCb Collaboration, we investigated the $DD^*$ hadronic molecule interpretation of $T_{cc}^+$. By calculation, the mass and the decay width of this new structure $T_{cc}^+$ can be understood in one-meson exchange potential model. The binding energies for these $DD^*$ hadronic molecules with $J^P=1^+$ are around $1MeV$. Besides, we also studied the possible beauty-partners $T_{bb}(10598)$ of hadronic molecule $T^+_{cc}$, which may be feasible in future LHCb experiments.
With the steady increase in the precision of flavour physics measurements collected during LHC Run 2, the LHCb experiment requires simulated data samples of larger and larger sizes to study the detector response in detail. The simulation of the detector response is the main contribution to the time needed to simulate full events. This time scales linearly with the particle multiplicity. Of the dozens of particles present in the simulation only the few participating in the signal decay under study are of interest, while all remaining particles mainly affect the resolutions and efficiencies of t…
Fully-heavy tetraquark states, i.e. $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$, $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$, $bb\bar{c}\bar{c}$ ($cc\bar{b}\bar{b}$), $cb\bar{c}\bar{c}$, $cb\bar{b}\bar{b}$, and $cb\bar{c}\bar{b}$, are systematically investigated by means of a non-relativistic quark model based on lattice-QCD studies of the two-body $Q\bar{Q}$ interaction, which exhibits a spin-independent Cornell potential along with a spin-spin term. The four-body problem is solved using the Gaussian expansion method; additionally, the so-called complex scaling technique is employed so that bound, resonance, and scattering states can be trea…
We use a diffusion Monte Carlo method to solve the many-body Schrödinger equation describing fully-heavy tetraquark systems. This approach allows to reduce the uncertainty of the numerical calculation at the percent level, accounts for multi-particle correlations in the physical observables, and avoids the usual quark-clustering assumed in other theoretical techniques applied to the same problem. The interaction between particles was modeled by the most general and accepted potential, i.e. a pairwise interaction including Coulomb, linear-confining and hyperfine spin-spin terms. This means that…
In this work, we treat the newly observed doubly charmed four-quark state $ T_{cc}^{+}$ as an axial-vector tetraquark with content $cc\overline{u} \overline{d}$, and calculate its spectroscopic parameters and width. The mass and current coupling of the tetraquark $T_{cc}^{+}$ are found by means of the QCD two-point sum rule method by taking into account quark, gluon and mixed condensates up to dimension $10$. The width of the $T_{cc}^{+}$ is evaluated using partial widths of decay processes $T_{cc}^{+} \to \widetilde{ T}π^{0}$ and $T_{cc}^{+} \to T_{cc;\overline{u}\overline{u}}^{0}π^{+}$ , whe…
The dependence of the production of the $X(3872)$ meson on the hadron multiplicity in $pp$ collisions has been used as evidence against $X$ being a charm-meson molecule. The argument is based in part on the incorrect assumption that the cross section for the breakup of $X$ by scattering with comovers can be approximated by a geometric cross section inversely proportional to the binding energy of $X$. The breakup cross section should instead be approximated by the probability-weighted sum of the cross sections for the scattering of comoving pions from the charm-meson constituents of $X$, which …
The LHCb collaboration has found that the production rate of $X(3872)$ in proton-proton collisions decreases as final state particle multiplicity increases. Moreover, the ALICE experiment at CERN has observed that the number of deuterons produced increases with multiplicity, a behavior that is qualitatively different from that of the $X(3872)$. These experimental findings may point to a compact structure for the $X(3872)$ or, at least, that its hadronization could proceed through a charm-anticharm core. We have recently used a diffusion Monte Carlo method to solve the many-body Schrödinger equ…
We review our investigations devoted to the analysis of the resonances $ Z_{c}(3900)$, $Z_{c}(4430)$, $Z_{c}(4100)$, $X(4140)$, $X(4274)$, $a_1(1420)$ , $Y(4660)$, $X(2100)$, $X(2239)$ and $Y(2175)$ discovered in various processes by Belle, BaBar, BESIII, D0, CDF, CMS, LHCb and COMPASS collaborations. These resonances are considered as serious candidates to four-quark (tetraquark) exotic mesons. We treat all of them as diquark-antidiquark states with relevant spin-parities, find their masses and couplings, as well as explore their dominant strong decay channels. Calculations are performed in t…
