We study the pseudorapidity dependent hydrodynamic response in heavy-ion collisions. A differential hydrodynamic relation is obtained for elliptic flow. Using event-by-event simulations of 3+1D MUSIC, with initial conditions generated via a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model, the differential response relation is verified. Based on the response relation, we find that the two-point correlation of elliptic flow in pseudorapidity are separated into the fluid response and the two-point correlation of initial eccentricity.
The revised Landau hydrodynamic model is used to discuss the pseudorapidity distributions of the produced charged particles in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at energies of sqrt(s_NN)= 19.6 and 22.4 GeV correspondingly on the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. It is found that the revised Landau hydrodynamic model alone can give a good description to the experimental measurements. This is different from that in the same collisions but at the maximum energy of sqrt(s_NN)= 200 GeV. Where, in addition to the revised Landau hydrodynamic model, the effects of leading particles have to be taken into a…
The implications of parton recombination processes on the dynamics of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion reactions are investigated. To do so, the quark-gluon string transport model has been extended for partonic recombination and fusion processes. Parton recombination leads to short equilibration times and improves significantly on the theoretical description of measured directed and elliptic flow, i.e., v_1 and v_2, distributions in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s) = 200 GeV, in particular what concerns their pseudorapidity dependence. The shape of v_2(eta) is found to be closely related to fast thermal…
Using Monte Carlo generators of the PYTHIA model for hadron-hadron collisions and a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model for nucleus-nucleus collisions, the longitudinal boost-invariance of charge balance function and its transverse momentum dependence are carefully studied. It shows that the charge balance function is boost-invariant in both {\it p}+{\it p} and Au+Au collisions in these two models, consistent with experimental data. The balance function properly scaled by the width of the pseudorapidity window is independent of the position or the size of the window and is corresponding to the …
We analyze correlations between the event-plane angles in different intervals of pseudorapidity within the 3+1-dimensional viscous hydrodynamics with the Glauber-model initial conditions. As predicted earlier, the fluctuations in the particle production mechanism in the earliest stage, together with asymmetry of the emission profiles in pseudorapidity from the forward- and backward going wounded nucleons, lead to the torque effect, namely, decorrelation of the event-plane angles in distant pseudorapidity bins. We use two- or three-bin measures of correlation functions to quantify the effect, w…
We discuss a recently found family of exact and analytic, finite and accelerating, 1+1 dimensional solutions of perfect fluid relativistic hydrodynamics to describe the pseudorapidity densities and longitudinal HBT-radii and to estimate the lifetime parameter and the initial energy density of the expanding fireball in Au+Au collisions at RHIC with $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=130$ GeV and $200$ GeV colliding energies. From these exact solutions of relativistic hydrodynamics, we derive a simple and powerful formula to describe the pseudorapidity density distributions in high energy proton-proton and heavy io…
The pseudorapidity dependence of anisotropic flows $v_{1}$, $v_{2}$, $v_{3}$ , and $v_{4}$ of charged hadrons in heavy-ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider is studied in a multi-phase transport model. We find that while the string melting scenario, in which hadrons that are expected to be formed from initial strings are converted to their valence quarks and antiquarks, can explain the measured $p_{T}$-dependence of $v_{2}$ and $ v_{4} $ of charged hadrons at midrapidity with a parton scattering cross section of about 10 \textrm{mb}, the scenario without string melting reproduc…
An analysis method is proposed to study the forward-backward (FB) multiplicity fluctuation in high-energy nuclear collisions, built on the earlier work of Bzdak and Teaney. The method allows the decomposition of the centrality dependence of average multiplicity from the dynamical event-by-event (EbyE) fluctuation of multiplicity in pseudorapidity. Application of the method to AMPT and HIJING models shows that the long-range component of the FB correlation is captured by a few longitudinal harmonics, with the first component driven by the asymmetry in the number of participating nucleons in the…
We analyze the recent data from the BRAHMS Collaboration on the pseudorapidity dependence of nuclear modification factors in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV by using the full three dimensional hydrodynamic simulations for the density effects on parton energy loss. We first compute the transverse spectra at $η=0$ and 2.2, and next take a ratio $R_η=R_{AA}(η=2.2)/R_{AA}(η=0)$, where $R_{AA}$ is a nuclear modification factor. It is shown that hydrodynamic components account for $R_η\simeq 1$ at low $p_\mathrm{T}$ and that quenched pQCD components lead $R_η < 1$ at high $p_\mathrm{T}…
Through the collision-system configuration, the Tsallis statistics is combined with a multisource thermal model. The improved model is used to investigate the transverse momentum and pseudorapidity of particles produced in Xe-Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV. We discuss detailedly the thermodynamic properties, which are taken from the transverse momentum distributions of pion, kaon and proton for different centralities. The pseudorapidity spectra of charged particles for different centralities are described consistently in the model. And, the model result can estimate intuitively the longitudinal con…
The centrality dependence of charged-hadron production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at LHC energies is investigated in a nonequilibrium-statistical relativistic diffusion model (RDM) with three sources. Theoretical pseudorapidity distributions are compared with preliminary PbPb ALICE data at LHC energy of sqrt(s_NN) = 2.76 TeV for seven centralities, and a previous RDM prediction for this energy is confronted with the data. Refined predictions for 5.52 TeV PbPb based on RDM parameter extrapolations are presented.
A known class of analytic, exact, accelerating solutions of prefect relativistic hydrodynamics with longitudinal acceleration is utilized to describe results on the pseudorapidity distributions for different collision systems. These results include $dN/dη$ measured in p+p, Cu+Cu, Au+Au, and Pb+Pb collisions at RHIC and LHC, in a broad centrality range. Going beyond the traditional Bjorken model, from the accelerating hydrodynamic description we determine the initial energy density and other thermodynamic quantities in those collisions.
Using a hadron and string cascade model, JPCIAE, the energy and centrality dependences of charged particle pseudorapidity density in relativistic nuclear collisions were studied. Within the framework of this model, both the relativistic $p+\bar p$ experimental data and the PHOBOS and PHENIX $Au+Au$ data at $\sqrt s_{nn}$=130 GeV could be reproduced fairly well without retuning the model parameters. The predictions for full RHIC energy $Au+Au$ collisions and for $Pb+Pb$ collisions at the ALICE energy were given. Participant nucleon distributions were calculated based on different methods. It wa…
We calculate the longitudinal flow decorrelation coefficients, i.e., $r_n(η,η_r)$ for $n=2,3$, in the presence of hydro-like flow and the global momentum conservation (GMC) constraint. The longitudinal flow decorrelation is weakened due to the GMC constraint. The GMC effect is sensitive to the total number of particles involved in GMC, the average longitudinal momentum, the transverse momentum, and the reference pseudorapidity. Our results of the $r_2(η,η_{rA})/r_2(η,η_{rB})$ ratio between two reference pseudorapidity bins are consistent with the experimental measurements. We predict that the …

Both the relativistic $p+\bar p$ experimental data and the PHOBOS and PHENIX $Au+Au$ data at RHIC energy could be fairly reproduced within the framework of JPCIAE model and without retuning the model parameters. The predictions for $Pb+Pb$ collisions at the LHC energy were also given. We computed the participant nucleon distributions using different methods. It was found that the number of participant nucleons is not a…
We investigate pseudorapidity correlations of the average transverse flow of particles emitted in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We employ 3+1 dimensional viscous relativistic hydrodynamics with initial conditions from the quark Glauber Monte Carlo model to confront the recent measurements on the pseudorapidity correlations of the transverse momentum fluctuations in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2760$GeV. We find good agreement between the model predictions and data. Further, we study two other observables build with the covariance of the average transverse momentum in different rapid…
Investigations have shown that the collective motion not only appears in nucleus-nucleus but also in p-p collisions. The best tool for depicting such collective motion is relativistic hydrodynamics. In this paper, the collective motion is assumed obeying the hydro model which integrates the features of Landau and Hwa-Bjorken theory and is one of a very few analytically solvable models. The fluid is then supposed freezing out into charged particles from a time-like hypersurface with a fixed time of t_FO . The researches of present paper show that this part of charged particles together with lea…
The parton rescattering effect on the charged particle production in ultra-relativistic p+p collisions is studied by the parton and hadron cascade model, PACIAE, based on PYTHIA. We have calculated charged particle pseudorapidity density ($dN_{ch}/dη$) at mid-rapidity and the pseudorapidity distribution in inelastic and non-single diffractive p+p collisions at $\sqrt s$=200, 900, 5500, and 14000 GeV with the PYTHIA and PACIAE models. The calculated results of $\sqrt s$=900 GeV are well compared with the ALICE data. The calculated $dN_{ch}/dη$ as a function of center-of-mass energy well meets w…
In this talk we review some of our results for the longitudinal correlations in connection with recent experimental data, in particular for the {\em torque} effect and for the two-particle correlations in pseudorapidity, $C(η_1,η_2)$. The model framework involves event-by-event fluctuations of the initial conditions, followed with 3D viscous hydrodynamic evolution and statistical hadronization.
We demonstrate that in the framework of the event-by-event hydrodynamics followed by statistical hadronization, the proper charge conservation in the mechanism of hadron production provides the crucial non-flow component and leads to agreement with the two-dimensional two-particle correlation data in relative azimuthal angle and pseudorapidity at soft transverse momenta (p_T<2GeV). The fall-off of the same-side ridge in relative pseudorapidity follows from the fact that a pair of particles with balanced charges is emitted from the same fluid element, whose collective velocity collimates the mo…
In a framework of a semi-analytic model with longitudinally extended strings of fluctuating end-points, we demonstrate that the rapidity spectra and two-particle correlations in collisions of Pb-Pb, p-Pb, and p-p at the energies of the Large Hadron Collider can be universally reproduced. In our approach, the strings are pulled by wounded constituents appearing in the Glauber modeling at the partonic level. The obtained rapidity profile for the emission of hadrons from a string yields bounds for the distributions of the end-point fluctuations. Then, limits for the two-particle-correlations in p…
Spin longitudinal and transverse response function are studied by means of the relativistic many-body theory. The spin response functions in the relativistic theory are largely reduced from those in the non-relativistic theory. The local density approximation with the eikonal approximation is applied to the the nuclear absorption in the $(\vec{p},\vec{n})$ reactions on C and Ca. We compare the calculated results with the recent experimental data.
The energy dependence of charged-hadron production in proton-proton collisions at RHIC and LHC energies is investigated in a nonequilibrium-statistical relativistic diffusion model (RDM) with three sources for particle production. Calculated charged-hadron pseudorapidity distributions for pp at RHIC energies of sqrt(s) = 0.2 and 0.41 TeV, and at LHC energies of 0.9, 2.36 and 7 TeV are optimized with respect to the available data. Predictions for 14 TeV are made. The central source arising from gluon-gluon collisions becomes the major origin of particle production at LHC energies. The midrapidi…
A known exact and accelerating solution of relativistic hydrodynamics for perfect fluids is utilized to describe pseudorapidity densities of $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02$ TeV Pb$+$Pb and $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV $p$$+$$p$ collisions at LHC. We evaluate a conjectured initial energy densities $ε_{\rm corr}$ in these collisions, and compare them to Bjorken's initial energy density estimates, and to results for Pb$+$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV and $p$$+$$p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ and 8 TeV.
We propose several new observables/correlators, based on correlations between two or more subevents separated in pseudorapidity $η$, to study the longitudinal flow fluctuations. We show that these observables are sensitive to the event-by-event fluctuations, as a function of $η$, of the initial condition as well as the non-linear mode-mixing effects. Experimental measurement of these observables shall provide important new constraints on the boost-variant event-by-event initial conditions required by all 3+1-dimensional viscous hydrodynamics models.
Within A Multi-Phase Transport model, we investigate decorrelation of event planes over pseudorapidity and its effect on azimuthal anisotropy measurements in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The decorrelation increases with increasing η gap between particles used to reconstruct the event planes. The third harmonic event planes are found even anticorrelated between forward and backward rapidities, the source of which may root in the opposite orientation of the collision geometry triangularities. The decorrelation may call into question the anisotropic flow measurements with pseudorapidity gap…
The charged-particle's final state spectrum is derived from an analytic perturbative solution for the relativistic viscous hydrodynamics. By taking into account the longitudinal acceleration effect in relativistic viscous hydrodynamics, the pseudorapidity spectrum describes well the nucleus-nucleus colliding systems at RHIC and LHC. Based on both the extracted longitudinal acceleration parameters $λ^{*}$ and a phenomenological description of the $λ^{*}$, the charged-particle's pseudorapidity distributions for $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV Xe+Xe collisions are computed from the final state express…
We demonstrate by explicit calculations in 3+1 dimensional viscous relativistic fluid dynamics how two-particle pseudorapidity correlation functions in heavy ion collisions at the LHC and RHIC depend on the number of particle producing sources and the transport properties of the produced medium. In particular, we present results for the Legendre coefficients of the two-particle pseudorapidity correlation function in Pb+Pb collisions at 2760 GeV and Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV from viscous hydrodynamics with three dimensionally fluctuating initial conditions. Our results suggest that these coef…
Simple, self-similar, analytic solutions of 1 + 1 dimensional relativistic hydrodynamics are presented, generalizing the Hwa - Bjorken boost-invariant solution to inhomogeneous rapidity distributions. These solutions are generalized also to 1 + 3 dimensional, cylindrically symmetric firetubes, corresponding to central collisions of heavy ions at relativistic bombarding energies.
Predictions for electron induced proton knockout from the $p_{1/2}$ and $p_{3/2}$ shells in $^{16}$O are presented using various approximations for the relativistic nucleonic current. Results for the differential cross section, transverse-longitudinal response ($R_{TL}$) and left-right asymmetry $A_{TL}$ are compared at $|Q^2|=0.8$ (GeV/c)$^2$ corresponding to TJNAF experiment 89-003. We show that there are important dynamical and kinematical relativistic effects which can be tested by experiment.
The transverse momentum and pseudorapidity dependences of partonic {`\it{Mach-like}'} shock wave have been studied by using a multi-phase transport model (AMPT) with both partonic and hadronic interactions. The splitting parameter $D$, i.e. half distance between two splitting peaks on away side in di-hadron azimuthal angular ($Δϕ$) correlations, slightly increases with the transverse momentum of associated hadrons ($p^{assoc}_T$), which is consistent with preliminary experimental trend, owing to different interaction-lengths/numbers between wave partons and medium in strong parton cascade. On …
We study the initial three-dimensional spatial configuration of the quark-gluon plasma produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using centrality and rapidity-dependent measurements of charged particle pseudorapidity densities and two-particle correlations. A cumulant-generating function is used to parametrize the rapidity dependence of local entropy deposition and extend arbitrary boost-invariant initial conditions to nonzero beam rapidities. The model is compared to p+Pb and Pb+Pb single-particle distributions and systematically optimized using Bayesian parameter estimation to extract hi…
The azimuthal angle dependence of quark spin polarization in the longitudinal beam direction of non-central relativistic heavy ion collisions is studied in the chiral kinetic approach. Contrary to the prediction from models based on the assumption of thermal equilibrium of spin degrees of freedom that the quark spin polarization always points along the direction of local vorticity field, we find the two can have opposite directions due to the effect from the transversal component of vorticity field, which can lead to a redistribution of axial charges in the produced matter. Our finding is cons…
Nuclear collisions exhibit long-range rapidity correlations not present in proton-proton collisions. Because the correlation structure is wide in relative pseudorapidity and narrow in relative azimuthal angle, it is known as the ridge. Similar ridge structures are observed in correlations of particles associated with a jet trigger (the hard ridge) as well as correlations without a trigger (the soft ridge). Earlier we argued that the soft ridge arises when particles formed in an early Glasma stage later manifest transverse flow. We extend this study to address new soft ridge measurements. We th…
Scalar, baryon and vector--current densities in coordinate and momentum space are calculated within a relativistic mean--field model. The role of the low components of the bound nucleon wave function is investigated in detail for different spin--orbit partner shells. We show that the relative importance of the negative--energy projection components can be explained from the different quantum numbers involved in the relativistic wave function. This fact has proved to be important in the analysis of various electron scattering observables even for low--medium values of the bound nucleon momentum…
Using a multiphase transport model, we study three-particle mixed harmonic correlations in relativistic heavy ion collisions by considering the observable $C_{m,n,m+n}=\langle\negmedspace\langle \cos(mϕ_1+nϕ_2-(m+n)ϕ_3)\rangle\negmedspace\rangle$, where $ϕ_{1,2,3}$ are azimuthal angles of all particle triplets. We find that except for $C_{123}$, our results on the centrality dependence of $C_{112}$, $C_{224}$ and $C_{235}$ as well as the relative pseudorapidity dependence of $C_{123}$ and $C_{224}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$200 GeV agree reasonable well with the experimental data from …
An improved Tsallis statistics is implemented in a multisource thermal model to describe systematically pseudorapidity spectra of charged particles produced in relativistic nucleon-nucleon ($pp$ or $p\overline{p}$) collisions at various collision energies and in relativistic nucleus-nucleus ($AA$) collisions at different energies with different centralities. The results with Tsallis statistics using the two-cylindrical multisource thermal model are in good agreement with the experimental data measured at RHIC and LHC energies. It is found that the rapidity shifts of longitudinal sources increa…
Two-particle pseudorapidity correlations are analyzed in a simple model, where in the initial stage of the reaction multiple sources, extended in rapidity, are created. We show how the fluctuations of the length of the sources in rapidity generate correlations in the initial entropy deposition, which later contribute to the observed longitudinal correlations in hadron production. Our analysis, which is analytic and leads to straightforward formulas, allows us to understand the structure of the correlations, in particular to identify the component related to the fluctuation of the numbers of so…
We highlight some of the interesting properties of a new and finite, exact family of solutions of 1 + 1 dimensional perfect fluid relativistic hydrodynamics. After reviewing the main properties of this family of solutions, we present the formulas that connect it to the measured rapidity and pseudo-rapidity densities and illustrate the results with fits to p+p collisions at 8 TeV and Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02 $ TeV.
We systematically study the hyperon global polarization's sensitivity to the collision systems' initial longitudinal flow velocity in hydrodynamic simulations. By explicitly imposing local energy-momentum conservation when mapping the initial collision geometry to macroscopic hydrodynamic fields, we study the evolution of systems' orbital angular momentum (OAM) and fluid vorticity. We find that a simultaneous description of the $Λ$ hyperons' global polarization and the slope of pion's directed flow can strongly constrain the size of longitudinal flow at the beginning of hydrodynamic evolution.…
In the hot and dense hadronic sources formed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, the particle interactions in medium might lead to a squeezed back-to-back correlation (BBC) of boson-antiboson pairs. We calculate the BBC functions of $ϕϕ$ for sources evolving hydrodynamically in ($2+1$) dimensions and with longitudinal boost invariance. The BBC functions for hydrodynamic sources exhibit oscillations as a function of the particle momentum because the temporal distributions of hydrodynamic sources have sharp falls to 0 at large evolving times. The dependences of the BBC functions on the directio…
We present MUSIC, an implementation of the Kurganov-Tadmor algorithm for relativistic 3+1 dimensional fluid dynamics in heavy-ion collision scenarios. This Riemann-solver-free, second-order, high-resolution scheme is characterized by a very small numerical viscosity and its ability to treat shocks and discontinuities very well. We also incorporate a sophisticated algorithm for the determination of the freeze-out surface using a three dimensional triangulation of the hyper-surface. Implementing a recent lattice based equation of state, we compute p_T-spectra and pseudorapidity distributions for…
It is proposed to identify a strong electric field created during relativistic collisions of asymmetric nuclei via observation of pseudorapidity and transverse momentum distributions of hadrons with the same mass but opposite charges. The detailed calculation results for the directed flow within the Parton-Hadron String Dynamics model are given for Cu-Au interactions at the NICA collision energies of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=9$ and $5$ GeV. The separation effect is observable at 9 GeV as clearly as at 200 GeV
We study the evolution of the longitudinal expansion of an ideal fluid with finite electrical conductivity, which is subject to the EM fields. In the framework of resistive relativistic-magneto-hydrodynamic, we find an exact analytical solution for the EM fields and for the acceleration of the fluid.
We present new, exact, finite solutions of relativistic hydrodynamics for longitudinally expanding fireballs for arbitrary constant value of the speed of sound. These new solutions generalize earlier, longitudinally finite, exact solutions, from an unrealistic to a reasonable equation of state, characterized by a temperature independent (average) value of the speed of sound. Observables like the rapidity density and the pseudorapidity density are evaluated analytically, resulting in simple and easy to fit formulae that can be matched to the high energy proton-proton and heavy ion collision dat…
We discuss the evolution of anisotropic boost-invariant quark-gluon plasma possibly created at the early stages of relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Our considerations are based on the recently proposed formalism that is an extension of the relativistic perfect-fluid hydrodynamics. We analyze i) the pure partonic system described by the anisotropic phase-space distribution function and ii) the system of partons interacting with the local magnetic fields. The second analysis is a simplified attempt to include the effects of color fields on the particle dynamics. Our model results are discussed…
We study the polarization of particles in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at very high energy along the beam direction within a relativistic hydrodynamic framework. We show that this component of the polarization decreases much slower with center-of-mass energy compared to the transverse component, even in the ideal longitudinal boost-invariant scenario with non-fluctuating initial state, and that it can be measured by taking advantage of its quadrupole structure in the transverse momentum plane. In the ideal longitudinal boost-invariant scenario, the polarization is proportional to the grad…
The solutions of relativistic viscous hydrodynamics for longitudinal expanding fireballs is investigated with the Navier-Stokes theory and Israel-Stewart theory. The energy and Euler conservation equations for the viscous fluid are derived in Rindler coordinates with the longitudinal expansion effect is small. Under the perturbation assumption, an analytical perturbation solution for the Navier-Stokes approximation and numerical solutions for the Israel-Stewart approximation are presented. The temperature evolution with both shear viscous effect and longitudinal acceleration effect in the long…
The equations of relativistic hydrodynamics are transformed so that steps forward in time preserves local simultaneity. In these variables, the space-time coordinates of neighboring points on the mesh are simultaneous according to co-moving observers. Aside from the time step varying as a function of the location on the mesh, the local velocity gradient and the local density then evolve according to non-relativistic equations of motion. Analytic solutions are found for two one-dimensional cases with constant speed of sound. One solution has a Gaussian density profile when mapped into the new c…
The presence of a resonant structure corresponding to the $Δ$ excitation in the longitudinal response to an e.m. probe is investigated. It is shown that many-body effects could significantly increase the relativistic contribution suggested by M.Ericson and coworkers
We study the longitudinal decorrelations of elliptic, triangular and quadrangular flows in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC and RHIC energies. The event-by-event CLVisc (3+1)-dimensional hydrodynamics model, combined with the fully fluctuating AMPT initial conditions, is utilized to simulate the space-time evolution of the strongly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. Detailed analysis is performed for the longitudinal decorrelations of flow vectors, flow magnitudes and flow orientations. We find strong correlations between final-state longitudinal decorrelations of anisotropic flows and initial-state l…
Particle production sources in pPb collisions at LHC energies are investigated in pseudorapidity space as functions of centrality. The nonequilibrium-statistical relativistic diffusion model (RDM) with three sources is applied to the analysis of preliminary charged-hadron distributions measured by the ATLAS and ALICE collaborations in pPb collisions at 5.02 TeV. The size of the midrapidity source relative to the fragmentation sources in pPb collisions is considered as function of centrality, and incident energy. At LHC energies particle production from the mid-rapidity gluon-gluon source is la…
A new method for solving relativistic ideal hydrodynamics in (1+3)D is developed. Longitudinal and transverse radial flows are explicitly embedded and the hydrodynamic equations are reduced to a single equation for the transverse velocity field only, which is much more tractable. As an application we use the method to find analytically all possible solutions with power dependence on proper time and transverse radius. Possible application to the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions and possible generalizations of the method are discussed.
Non-central heavy-ion collisions generate the strongest magnetic field of the order of $10^{18}-10^{19}$ Gauss due to the electric current produced by the positively charged spectators that travel at nearly the speed of light. Such transient electromagnetic fields may induce various novel effects in the hydrodynamic description of the quark gluon plasma for non-central heavy-ion collisions. We investigate the longitudinal acceleration effects on the 1+1 dimensional relativistic magnetohydrodynamics with transverse magnetic fields. We analyze the proper time evolution of the system energy densi…
The statistical event-by-event analysis of inelastic interactions of 16O and 32S nuclei in emulsion at 60 A GeV/c and 200 A GeV/c reveals the existence of groups of high multiplicity events belonging to very central nuclear interactions with Gaussian pseudorapidity distributions for produced particles as suggested by the original hydrodynamic-tube model. Characteristics of these events are presented. The experimental observations are interpreted as a result of quark-gluon plasma formation in the course of central nuclear interactions.
