We study embeddings of Besov-type and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces, $id_τ: {B}_{p_1,q_1}^{s_1,τ_1}(Ω) \hookrightarrow {B}_{p_2,q_2}^{s_2,τ_2}(Ω)$ and $id_τ: {F}_{p_1,q_1}^{s_1,τ_1}(Ω) \hookrightarrow {F}_{p_2,q_2}^{s_2,τ_2}(Ω) $, where $Ω\subset {\mathbb R}^d$ is a bounded domain, and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the compactness of $id_τ$. Moreover, we characterise its entropy and approximation numbers. Surprisingly, these results are completely obtained via embeddings and the application of the corresponding results for classical Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces as well as for Besov-Morrey and Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces.
This paper is concerned with a boundedness of trace and extension operators for Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on upper half space with variable exponents. To define trace and extension operators, we introduce a quarkonial decomposition for Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponents on ${\mathbb R}^n$. Furthermore, we study trace and extension operators for Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponents on upper half spaces ${\mathbb R}^n_+$.
We continue our earlier investigations of radial subspaces of Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces on $\R^d$. This time we study characterizations of these subspaces by differences.
In this paper we prove the Jawerth-Franke embeddings of Herz-type Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Moreover, we obtain the Jawerth-Franke embeddings of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces equipped with power weights. An application we present new embeddings between Besov and Herz spaces.
In this paper we prove the Sobolev embeddings for Herz-type Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, \begin{equation*} \dot{K}_{q}^{α_{2},r}F_{θ}^{s_{2}}\hookrightarrow \dot{K}%_{s}^{α_{1},p}F_{β}^{s_{1}} \end{equation*} where the parameters $α_{1},α_{2},s_{1},s_{2},s,q,r,p,β$ and $θ$ satisfy some suitable conditions. An application we obtain new embeddings between Herz and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Moreover, we present the Sobolev embeddings for Triebel-Lizorkin spaces equipped with power weights. All these results cover the results on classical Triebel-Lizorkin spaces.
We will prove that under certain conditions on the parameters the operators $T^{+}f = \max(f,0)$ and $ Tf = |f| $ are bounded mappings on the Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey and Besov-Morrey spaces. Moreover we will show that some of the conditions we mentioned before are also necessary. Furthermore we prove that for $p < u $ in many cases the Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces do not have the Fubini property.
We study complex interpolation of weighted Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces. The used weights $w_0,w_1$ are local Muckenhoupt weights in the sense of Rychkov. As a first step we calculate the Calderón products of associated sequence spaces. Finally, as a corollary of these investigations, we obtain results on complex interpolation of radial subspaces of Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces on $\R^d$.
We provide a upper bound for Triebel-Lizorkin capacity in metric settings in terms of Hausdorff measure. On the other hand, we also prove that the sets with zero capacity have generalized Hausdorff $h$-measure zero for a suitable gauge function $h.$
In this paper, we show that Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin functions can be approximated by a Hölder continuous function both in the Lusin sense and in norm. The results are proven in metric measure spaces for Hajłasz-Besov and Hajłasz-Triebel-Lizorkin functions defined by a pointwise inequality. We also prove new inequalities for medians, including a Poincaré type inequality, which we use in the proof of the main result.
We study complex interpolation of variable Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, especially we present the complex interpolation of $F_{p(\cdot),q}^{α}$ and $F_{p(\cdot ),p(\cdot )}^{α(\cdot )}$ spaces. Also, some limiting cases are given.
We establish conditions on the parameters which are both necessary and sufficient in order that Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of generalized smoothness contain only regular distributions. We also connect this with the possibility of embedding such spaces in some particular Lebesgue spaces.
We investigate the comparability of generalized Triebel--Lizorkin and Sobolev seminorms on uniform and non-uniform sets when the integration domain is truncated according to the distance from the boundary. We provide numerous examples of kernels and domains in which the comparability does and does not hold.
In this paper we prove that under some conditions on the parameters the one-dimensional Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $ F^{s}_{r,q}(\mathbb{R}) $ can be described in terms of quarklets. So for functions from Triebel-Lizorkin spaces we obtain a quarkonial decomposition as well as a new equivalent quasi-norm. For that purpose we use quarklets that are constructed out of biorthogonal compactly supported Cohen-Daubechies-Feauveau spline wavelets, where the primal generator is a cardinal B-spline. Moreover we introduce some sequence spaces apposite to our quarklet system and study their properties. Final…
We discuss generalizations of Rubio de Francia's inequality for Triebel--Lizorkin and Besov spaces, continuing the research from [5]. Two versions of Rubio de Francia's operator are discussed: it is shown that a rotation factor is needed for the boundedness of the operator in some smooth spaces while it is not essential in other spaces. We study the operators on some "end" spaces of the Triebel--Lizorkin scale and then use usual interpolation methods.
In this papae we introduce and investigate new 2-microlocal spaces associated with Besov type and Triebel-LIzorkin type spaces. We establish characterizations of these function spaces via the phi transform, the atom and molecular decomposition and wavelet decomposition. As applications we consider the boundedness of the Calderon-Zygmund operator and the pseudo-differential operator on these function spaces
We introduce variable exponent versions of Morreyfied Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. To that end, we prove an important convolution inequality which is a replacement for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal inequality in the fully variable setting. Using it we obtain characterizations by means of Peetre maximal functions and use them to show the independence of the introduced spaces from the admissible system used.
In this paper we study Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces with variable smoothness and integrability. We show that our space is well-defined, i.e., independent of the choice of basis functions and we obtain their atomic characterization. Moreover the Sobolev embeddings for these function spaces are obtained.
Using the extrapolation of one-sided weights, we establish the boundedness of commutators generated by weighted Lipschitz functions and one-sided singular integral operators from weighted Lebesgue spaces to weighted one-sided Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. The corresponding results for commutators of one-sided discrete square functions are also obtained.
We consider the classical Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces defined via differences and prove a homogeneity property for functions with bounded support in the frame of these spaces. As the proof is based on compact embeddings between the studied function spaces we present also some results on the entropy numbers of these embeddings. Moreover, we derive some applications in terms of pointwise multipliers.
In this paper, the authors first discuss the characterization of Herz Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponent via two families of operators. By this characterization, the authors prove that the Lipschitz commutators of sublinear operators is bounded from Herz spaces with variable exponent to Herz Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponent. As an application, the corresponding boundedness estimates for the commutators of maximal operator, Riesz potential operator and Calderón-Zygmund operator are established.
This paper is concerned with proving some embeddings of the form \begin{equation*} F_{p_{1},q}^{s_{1}}\cdot B_{p_{2},\infty }^{s_{2}}\cdot ...\cdot B_{p_{m},\infty }^{s_{m}}\hookrightarrow F_{p,q}^{s_{1}},\quad m\geq 2. \end{equation*} The different embeddings obtained here are under certain restrictions on the parameters. In particular, we improve some results of pointwise multiplication on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Franke-Jawerth embeddings, the $\pm $ - method of Gustaffson-Peetre and the relation between Hardy spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces are the main tools.
The aim of this paper is to prove duality of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $% F_{1,q\left( \cdot \right) }^{α\left( \cdot \right) }$. First, we prove the duality of associated sequence spaces. Then from the so-called $% φ$-transform characterization in the sense of Frazier and Jawerth, we deduce the main result of this paper.
In this article, we study the relation between Sobolev-type embeddings for Sobolev spaces or Besov spaces or Triebel-Lizorkin spaces defined either on a doubling or on a geodesic metric measure space and lower bound for measure of balls either in the whole space or in a domain inside the space.
We give intrinsic characterisations for the uniformly localized versions of the Besov spaces $B^{s}_{p,q}({\mathbb R}^n)$, where $p,q\in [1,+\infty]$, and of the Lizorkin-Triebel spaces $F^{s}_{p,q}({\mathbb R}^n)$, where $q\in [1,+\infty]$ and $p\in [1,+\infty[$, whatever be the real number $s>0$.
In this paper, the author introduce Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with general smoothness. We present the $φ$-transform characterization of these spaces in the sense of Frazier and Jawerth and we prove their Sobolev embeddings. Also, we establish the smooth atomic and molecular decomposition of these function spaces. To do these we need a generalization of some maximal inequality to the case of general weights.
We introduce a notion of generalized Triebel-Lizorkin spaces associated with sectorial operators in Banach function spaces. Our approach is based on holomorphic functional calculus techniques. Using the concept of $\mathcal{R}_s$-sectorial operators, which in turn is based on the notion of $\mathcal{R}_s$-bounded sets of operators introduced by Lutz Weis, we obtain a neat theory including equivalence of various norms and a precise description of real and complex interpolation spaces. Another main result of this article is that an $\mathcal{R}_s$-sectorial operator always has a bounded $H^\inft…
We discuss the growth envelopes of Fourier-analytically defined Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $B^s_{p,q}(\R^n)$ and $F^s_{p,q}(\R^n)$ for $s=σ_p=n\max(\frac 1p-1,0)$. These results may be also reformulated as optimal embeddings into the scale of Lorentz spaces $L_{p,q}(\R^n)$. We close several open problems outlined already by H. Triebel in [H. Triebel, The structure of functions, Birkhäuser, Basel, 2001.] and explicitly formulated by D. D. Haroske in [D. D. Haroske, Envelopes and sharp embeddings of function spaces, Chapman & Hall / CRC, Boca Raton, 2007.].
We give characterizations for homogeneous and inhomogeneous Besov-Lizorkin-Triebel spaces in terms of continuous local means for the full range of parameters. In particular, we prove characterizations in terms of Lusin functions and spaces involving the Peetre maximal function to apply the classical coorbit space theory due to Feichtinger and Gröchenig. This results in atomic decompositions and wavelet bases for homogeneous spaces. In particular we give sufficient conditions for suitable wavelets in terms of moment, decay and smoothness conditions.
This is a contribution to the theory of Lizorkin--Triebel spaces having mixed Lebesgue norms and quasi-homogeneous smoothness. We discuss their characterisation in terms of general quasi-norms based on convolutions. In particular, this covers the case of local means, in Triebel's terminology. The main step is an extension of some crucial inequalities due to Rychkov to the case with mixed norms.
Let $X$ be a space of homogeneous type and let $L$ be a nonnegative self-adjoint operator on $L^2(X)$ which satisfies a Gaussian estimate on its heat kernel. In this paper we prove a Hömander type spectral multiplier theorem for $L$ on the Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces associated to $L$. Our work not only recovers the boundedness of the spectral multipliers on $L^p$ spaces and Hardy spaces associated to $L$, but also is the first one which proves the boundedness of a general spectral theorem on Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces.
Motivated by the results of Korry and Kinnunen and Saksman, we study the behaviour of the discrete fractional maximal operator on fractional Hajlasz spaces, Hajlasz-Besov and Hajlasz-Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on metric measure spaces. We show that the discrete fractional maximal operator maps these spaces to the spaces of the same type with higher smoothness. Our results extend and unify aforementioned results. We present our results in general setting, but they are new already in the Euclidean case.
We construct smooth localized orthonormal bases compatible with homogeneous mixed-norm Triebel-Lizorkin spaces in an anisotropic setting on $\bR^d$. The construction is based on tensor products of so-called univariate brushlet functions that are constructed using local trigonometric bases in the frequency domain. It is shown that the associated decomposition system form unconditional bases for the homogeneous mixed-norm Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. In the second part of the paper we study nonlinear $m$-term nonlinear approximation with the constructed basis in the mixed-norm setting, where the beh…
We show that, for $0<s<1$, $0<p<\infty$, $0<q<\infty$, Hajłasz-Besov and Hajłasz-Triebel-Lizorkin functions can be approximated in the norm by discrete median convolutions. This allows us to show that, for these functions, the limit of medians, \[ \lim_{r\to 0}m_u^γ(B(x,r))=u^*(x), \] exists quasieverywhere and defines a quasicontinuous representative of $u$. The above limit exists quasieverywhere also for Hajłasz functions $u\in M^{s,p}$, $0<s\le 1$, $0<p<\infty$, but approximation of $u$ in $M^{s,p}$ by discrete (median) convolutions is not in general possible.
This paper extends the result in \cite{HNS15} to Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces which contains $4$ parameters $p,q,r,s$. This paper reinforces our earlier paper \cite{HNS15} by Nakamura, the first and the third authors in two different directions. First, we include the smoothness parameter $s$ and the second smoothness parameter $r$. In \cite{HNS15} we assumed $s=0$ and $r=2$. Here we relax the conditions on $s$ and $r$ to $s \in {\mathbb R}$ and $1 < r \le \infty$. Second, we apply a formula obtained by Bergh in 1978 to prove our main theorem without using the underlying sequence spaces.
We consider different characterizations of Triebel--Lizorkin type spaces of analytic functions on the unit disc. Even though our results appear in the folklore, detailed descriptions are hard to find, and in fact we are unable to discuss the full range of parameters. Without additional effort we work with vector-valued analytic functions, and also consider a generalized scale of function spaces, including for example so-called $Q$-spaces. The primary aim of this note is to generalize, and clarify, a remarkable result by Cohn and Verbitsky, on factorization of Triebel--Lizorkin spaces. Their re…
Let $0<p<\infty$, $0<q\leq\infty$, and $s\in\mathbb{R}$. We introduce a new type of generalized Besov-type spaces $B_{p,q}^{s,φ}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and generalized Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces $F_{p,q}^{s,φ}(\mathbb{R}^d)$, where $φ$ belongs to the class $\mathcal{G}_p$, that is, $φ:(0,\infty) \rightarrow (0,\infty)$ is nondecreasing and $t^{-d/p}φ(t)$ is nonincreasing in $t>0$. We establish several properties, including some embedding properties, of these spaces. We also obtain the atomic decomposition of the spaces $B_{p,q}^{s,φ}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and $F_{p,q}^{s,φ}(\mathbb{R}^d)$.
In this paper we provide non-smooth atomic decompositions of 2-microlocal Besov-type and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces with variable exponents $B^{\mathrm{\boldsymbolω}, ϕ}_{p(\cdot),q(\cdot)}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $F^{\mathrm{\boldsymbolω}, ϕ}_{p(\cdot),q(\cdot)}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Of big importance in general, and an essential tool here, are the characterizations of the spaces via maximal functions and local means, that we also present. These spaces were recently introduced by Wu at al. and cover not only variable 2-microlocal Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $B^{\mathrm{\boldsymbolω}}_{p(\cdot),q…
We define distribution spaces of a sequence of convolutions of a set of distributions with smooth functions, the shearlet system. Then, we define associated sequence spaces and prove characterizations. We also show a reproducing identity in the class of distributions. Finally, we prove Sobolev-type embeddings within the shear anisotropic inhomogeneous spaces and embeddings between (classical dyadic) isotropic inhomogeneous spaces and shear anisotropic inhomogeneous spaces.
Homogeneous mixed-norm Triebel--Lizorkin spaces are introduced and studied with the use of a discrete wavelet transformation, the so-called $φ$-transform. This extends the classical $φ$-transform approach introduced by Frazier and Jawerth to the setting of mixed-norm spaces. Moreover, the theory of the $φ$-transform is enhanced through a precise definition of the synthesis operator, in terms of a Pettis integral, and a number of rigorous results for this operator. Especially its terms can always be summed in any order, without changing the resulting distribution.
Within the new concept of a local iterated function system (local IFS), we consider a class of attractors of such IFSs, namely those that are graphs of functions. These new functions are called local fractal functions and they extend and generalize those that are currently found in the fractal literature. For a class of local fractal functions, we derive explicit conditions for them to be elements of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces. These two scales of functions spaces play an important role in interpolation theory and for certain ranges of their defining parameters describe many classical …
We continue the study of the variable exponent Morreyfied Triebel-Lizorkin spaces introduced in a previous paper. Here we give characterizations by means of atoms and molecules. We also show that in some cases the number of zero moments needed for molecules, in order that an infinite linear combination of them (with coefficients in a natural sequence space) converges in the space of tempered distributions, is much smaller than what is usually required. We also establish a Sobolev type theorem for related sequence spaces, which might have independent interest.
We present some Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg-type inequalities on Herz-type Besov-Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, Besov-Morrey spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces. More Precisely, we investigate the inequalities \begin{equation*} \big\|f\big\|_{\dot{k}_{v,σ}^{α_{1},r}}\leq c\big\|f\big\|_{\dot{K}_{u}^{α_{2},δ}}^{1-θ}\big\|f\big\|_{\dot{K}_{p}^{α_{3},δ_{1}}A_{β}^{s}}^{θ}, \end{equation*} and \begin{equation*} \big\|f\big\|_{\mathcal{E}_{p,2,u}^{σ}}\leq c\big\|f\big\|_{\mathcal{M}_{μ}^{δ}}^{1-θ}\big\|f\big\|_{\mathcal{N}_{q,β,v}^{s}}^{θ}, \end{equation*} with some appropriate assumptions on the para…
Coorbit space theory is an abstract approach to function spaces and their atomic decompositions. The original theory developed by Feichtinger and Gr{ö}chenig in the late 1980ies heavily uses integrable representations of locally compact groups. Their theory covers, in particular, homogeneous Besov-Lizorkin-Triebel spaces, modulation spaces, Bergman spaces, and the recent shearlet spaces. However, inhomogeneous Besov-Lizorkin-Triebel spaces cannot be covered by their group theoretical approach. Later it was recognized by Fornasier and the first named author that one may replace coherent states …
