We study the high-energy small-angle {\it Regge} limit of the fermion-antifermion scattering in gauge theories and consider the part of the amplitude suppressed by a power of the scattering angle. For abelian gauge group all-order resummation of the double-logarithmic radiative corrections to the leading power-suppressed term is performed. We find that when the logarithm of the scattering angle is comparable to the inverse gauge coupling constant the asymptotic double-logarithmic enhancement overcomes the power suppression, a formally subleading term becomes dominant, and the small-angle expansion breaks down. For the nonabelian gauge group we show that in the color-singlet channel for sufficiently small scattering angles the power-suppressed contribution becomes comparable to the one of BFKL pomeron. Possible role of the subleading-power effects for the solution of the unitarity problem of perturbative Regge analysis in QED and QCD is discussed. An intriguing relation between the asymptotic behavior of the power-suppressed amplitudes in Regge and Sudakov limits is discovered.
We examine in detail the structure of the Regge limit of the (nonplanar) ${\cal N}=4$ SYM four-point amplitude. We begin by developing a basis of color factors $C_{ik}$ suitable for the Regge limit of the amplitude at any loop order, and then calculate explicitly the coefficients of the amplitude in that basis through three-loop order using the Regge limit of the full amplitude previously calculated by Henn and Mistlberger. We compute these coefficients exactly at one loop, through ${\cal O} (ε^2)$ at two loops, and through ${\cal O} (ε^0)$ at three loops, verifying that the IR-divergent piece…
A previously proposed all-loop-orders relation between the Regge limits of four-point amplitudes of N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and N=8 supergravity is established at the three-loop level. We show that the Regge limit of known expressions for the amplitudes obtained using generalized unitarity simplifies in both cases to a (modified) sum over three-loop ladder and crossed-ladder scalar diagrams. This in turn is consistent with the result obtained using the eikonal representation of the four-point gravity amplitude. A possible exact three-loop relation between four-point amplitudes is …
Using rapidity evolution equations we study two-to-two gauge-theory scattering amplitudes in the Regge limit. We carry out explicit computations at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy through four loops and present new results for both infrared-singular and finite contributions to the amplitude. New techniques are devised in order to derive the colour structure stemming from three-Reggeon exchange diagrams in terms of commutators of channel operators, obtaining results that are valid for any gauge group, and apply to scattered particles in any colour representation. We also elucidate …
The high-energy limit of $2\to 2$ scattering amplitudes offers an excellent setting to explore the universal features of gauge theories. At Leading Logarithmic (LL) accuracy the partonic amplitude is governed by Regge poles in the complex angular momentum plane. Beyond LL, Regge cuts in this plane begin to play an important role. Specifically, the real part of the amplitude at Next-to-Next-to-Leading Logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy presents for the first time both a Regge pole and a Regge cut. Analysing this tower of logarithms and computing it explicitly through four loops we are able to systemat…
We review the Regge and multi-Regge limit of scattering amplitudes in gauge theory, focusing on QCD and its maximally supersymmetric cousin, planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. We identify the large logarithms that are developed in these limits, and the progress that has been made in resumming them, towards next-to-next-to-leading logarithms for BFKL evolution in QCD, as well as all-orders proposals in planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory and the perturbative checks of those proposals. We also cover the application of single-valued multiple polylogarithms to this important kine…
Using an iterative solution of rapidity evolution equations, we compute partonic $2\to 2$ gauge theory amplitudes at four loops in full colour up to the Next-to-Next-to-Leading Logarithms (NNLL) in the Regge limit. By contrasting the resulting amplitude with the exponentiation properties of soft singularities we determine the four-loop correction to the soft anomalous dimension at this logarithmic accuracy, which universally holds in any gauge theory. We find that the latter features quartic Casimir contributions beyond those appearing in the cusp anomalous dimension. Finally, in the case of $…
We consider one-loop five-point QCD amplitudes in next-to-multi-Regge kinematics, and evaluate the one-loop impact factor for the emission of two gluons. This is the last ingredient which is necessary to evaluate the gluon-jet impact factor at NNLO accuracy in $\as$. It is also the first instance in which loop-level QCD amplitudes are evaluated in next-to-multi-Regge kinematics, which requires to apply a different reggeisation ansatz to each colour-ordered amplitude.
