Dans ce travail, on montre que $(M(\mathbb{T}),c_0(\mathbb{Z}))_θ= (L^1,c_0(\mathbb{Z}))_θ$, $0<θ<1$. Dans la suite on montre pour le couple d'interpolation $(C_0,C_1)$ trouvé par Garling-Smith qu'il existe un isomorphisme $U_θ: (C_0,C_0+C_1)_{θ,p}\rightarrow (C_1,C_0+C_1)_{θ, p}$ (resp. $U_θ: (C_0,C_0+C_1)_θ\rightarrow (C_1,C_0+C_1)_θ)$ tel que sa restriction à $C_{θ, p}$ (resp. à $C_θ)$ est un isomorphisme : $C_{θ, p} \rightarrow C_{1-θ, p}$ (resp. $C_θ\rightarrow C_{1-θ})$.

In this work we show that $(M(\mathbb{T}),c_0(\mathbb{Z}))_θ= (L^1,c_0(\mathbb{Z}))_θ$, $0<θ<1.$ In the following we show for the interpolation couple found by Garling-Smith that there exists an isomorphism $U_θ: (C_0,C_0+C_1)_{θ,p}\rightarrow (C_1,C_0+C_1)_{θ, p}$ (resp. $U_θ: (C_0,C_0+C_1)_θ\rightarrow (C_1,C_0+C_1)_θ)$ such that its restriction to $C_{θ,p}$ (resp. to $C_θ)$ is an isomorphism : $C_{θ, p} \rightarrow C_{1-θ, p}$ (resp. $C_θ\rightarrow C_{1-θ})$.
A carefully written Nirenberg's proof of the well known Gagliardo-Nirenberg interpolation inequality for intermediate derivatives in $\mathbb{R}^n$ seems, surprisingly, to be missing in literature. In our paper we shall first introduce this fundamental result and provide information about it's historical background. Afterwards we present a complete, student-friendly proof. In our proof we use the architecture of Nirenberg's proof, the proof is, however, much more detailed, containing also some differences. The reader can find a short comparison of differences and similarities in the final chap…
In this paper we study two separate problems on interpolation. We first give some new equivalences of Stout's Theorem on necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequence of points to be an interpolating sequence on a finite open Riemann surface. We next turn our attention to the question of interpolation for reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces on the polydisc and provide a collection of equivalent statements about when it is possible to interpolation in the Schur-Agler class of the associated reproducing kernel Hilbert space.
Let $H$ be an infinite dimensional Hilbert space. We show that there exists a subspace of $B(H)$ which is isometric to $\ell_2$ and completely isometric to its antidual in the sense of the theory of operator spaces recently developed by Blecher-Paulsen and Effros-Ruan. Moreover this space is unique up to a complete isometry. We denote it by $OH$. This space has several remarkable properties in particular with respect to the complex interpolation method.
This is the third of a series of papers surveying some small part of the remarkable work of our friend and colleague Nigel Kalton. We have written it as part of a tribute to his memory. It does not contain new results. This time, rather than concentrating on one particular paper, we attempt to give a general overview of Nigel's many contributions to the theory of interpolation of Banach spaces, and also, significantly, quasi-Banach spaces.
We investigate rich subspaces of $L_1$ and deduce an interpolation property of Sidon sets. We also present examples of rich separable subspaces of nonseparable Banach spaces and we study the Daugavet property of tensor products.
We prove that the Lorentz sequence space $\ell_{\frac{2m}{m+1},1}$ is, in a~precise sense, optimal among all symmetric Banach sequence spaces satisfying a Bohnenblust-Hille type inequality for $m$-linear forms or $m$-homogeneous polynomials on $\mathbb{C}^n$. Motivated by this result we develop methods for dealing with subtle Bohnenblust-Hille type inequalities in the setting of Lorentz spaces. Based on an interpolation approach and the Blei-Fournier inequalities involving mixed type spaces, we prove multilinear and polynomial Bohnenblust-Hille type inequalities in Lorentz spaces with subpolyn…
We study the complex interpolation and derivation process induced by a family of Orlicz sequence spaces. We present a concrete example of interpolation family of three spaces inducing a centralizer that cannot be obtained from complex interpolation of two spaces.
We study complex interpolation of variable Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, especially we present the complex interpolation of $F_{p(\cdot),q}^{α}$ and $F_{p(\cdot ),p(\cdot )}^{α(\cdot )}$ spaces. Also, some limiting cases are given.
This paper is devoted to the interpolation principle between spaces of weak type. We characterise interpolation spaces between two Marcinkiewicz spaces in terms of Hardy type operators involving suprema. We study general properties of such operators and their behavior on Lorentz gamma spaces. A particular emphasis is placed on elementary and comprehensive proofs.
We construct a class of super-reflexive complementably minimal spaces, and study uniformly convex distortions of the norm on Hilbert space by using methods of complex interpolation.
We consider a real interpolation method defined by means of slowly varying functions. We present some reiteration formulae including so called $L$ or $R$ limiting interpolation spaces. These spaces arise naturally in reiteration formulae for the limiting cases $θ= 0$ or $θ= 1$. Applications to grand and small Lorentz spaces are given.
We prove a complex interpolation formula for the injective tensor product of vector-valued Banach function spaces satisfying certain geometric assumptions. This result unifies results of Kouba, and moreover, our approach offers an alternate proof of Kouba's interpolation formula for scalar-valued Banach function spaces.
The real and complex interpolation spaces for the classical Hardy spaces $H^1$ and $H^\infty$ were determined in 1983 by P.W. Jones. Due to the analytic constraints the associated Marcinkiewicz decomposition gives rise to a delicate approximation problem for the $L^ 1$ metric. Specifically for $ f \in H^p$ the size of $$ {\rm{inf}} \{ \| f - f_1 \| _1 \,:\, f_1 \in H^\infty ,\, \|f_1\|_\infty \le λ\}$$ needs to be determined for any $ λ>0 $. In the present paper we develop a new set of truncation formulae for obtaining the Marcinkiewicz decomposition of $(H^1, H^\infty) $. We revisit the real …
We study real and complex interpolation of abstract Cesàro, Copson and Tandori spaces, including the description of Calderón-Lozanovski{\v ı} construction for those spaces. The results may be regarded as generalizations of interpolation for Cesàro spaces $Ces_p(I)$ in the case of real method, but they are new even for $Ces_p(I)$ in the case of complex method. Some results for more general interpolation functors are also presented. The investigations show an interesting phenomenon that there is a big difference between interpolation of Cesàro function spaces in the cases of finite and infinite …
We investigate stability of Fredholm properties on interpolation scales of quasi-Banach spaces. This analysis is motivated by problems arising in PDE's and several applications are presented.
We give the description of the first and second complex interpolation of vanishing Morrey spaces, introduced in \cite{AS, CF}. In addition, we show that the diamond subspace (see \cite{HNS}) and one of the function spaces in \cite{AS} are the same. We also give several examples for showing that each of the complex interpolation of these spaces is different.
Known or essentially known results about duals of interpolation spaces are presented, taking a point of view sometimes slightly different from the usual one. Particular emphasis is placed on Alberto Calderon's theorem describing the duals of his complex interpolation spaces [A_0,A_1]_θ. The pace is slow, since these notes are intended for graduate students who have just begun to study interpolation spaces. This second version corrects some small misprints. It also draws attention to a convenient norming subspace of the dual of a complex interpolation space, and to the slight difference between…
In this paper, we show that the interpolation spaces between Grand, small or classical Lebesgue are so called Lorentz-Zygmund spaces or more generally $GΓ$-spaces. As a direct consequence of our results any Lorentz-Zygmund space $L^{a,r}({\rm Log}\, L)^β$, is an interpolation space in the sense of Peetre between either two Grand Lebesgue spaces or between two small spaces provided that $ 1<a<\infty, β\not= 0$. The method consists in computing the so called K-functional of the interpolation space and in identifying the associated norm.
In this paper, equivalence between interpolation properties of linear operators and monotonicity conditions are studied, for a pair $(X_0,X_1)$ of rearrangement invariant quasi Banach spaces, when the extreme spaces of the interpolation are $L^\infty$ and a pair $(A_0,A_1)$ under some assumptions. Weak and restricted weak intermediate spaces fall in our context. Applications to classical Lorentz and Lorentz-Orlicz spaces are given.
We study complex interpolation of weighted Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces. The used weights $w_0,w_1$ are local Muckenhoupt weights in the sense of Rychkov. As a first step we calculate the Calderón products of associated sequence spaces. Finally, as a corollary of these investigations, we obtain results on complex interpolation of radial subspaces of Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces on $\R^d$.
We explicitly describe all Hilbert function spaces that are interpolation spaces with respect to a given couple of Sobolev inner product spaces considered over $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ or a half-space in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ or a bounded Euclidean domain with Lipschitz boundary. We prove that these interpolation spaces form a subclass of isotropic Hörmander spaces. They are parametrized with a radial function parameter which is OR-varying at $+\infty$ and satisfies some additional conditions. We give explicit examples of intermediate but not interpolation spaces.
We prove embeddings and identities for real interpolation spaces between mixed Lorentz spaces. This partly relies on Minkowski's (reverse) integral inequality in Lorentz spaces $L^{p,r}(X)$ under optimal assumptions on the exponents $(p,r)\in (0,\infty)\times (0,\infty]$.
We show that if $(\ell_{ϕ_0}, \ell_{ϕ_1})$ is a couple of suitable Orlicz sequence spaces then the corresponding Rochberg derived spaces of all orders associated to the complex interpolation method are Fenchel-Orlicz spaces. In particular, the induced twisted sums have the $(C[0, 1], \mathbb{C})$-extension property.
In this work we study if the norms rotund, uniformly rotund, weakly uniformly rotund, locally uniformly rotund or weakly locally uniformly rotund interpolate in the complex or the real interpolation spaces. We will see that the properties uniformly rotund and weakly uniformly rotund interpolate, but the properties locally uniformly rotund or weakly locally uniformly rotund do not interpolate in general except for the dual interpolation couple.
The interpolation property of Ces{à}ro sequence and function spaces is investigated. It is shown that $Ces_p(I)$ is an interpolation space between $Ces_{p_0}(I)$ and $Ces_{p_1}(I)$ for $1 < p_0 < p_1 \leq \infty$ and $1/p = (1 - θ)/p_0 + θ/p_1$ with $0 < θ< 1$, where $I = [0, \infty)$ or $[0, 1]$. The same result is true for Ces{à}ro sequence spaces. On the other hand, $Ces_p[0, 1]$ is not an interpolation space between $Ces_1[0, 1]$ and $Ces_{\infty}[0, 1]$.
We study a general metric constrained interpolation problem in a de Branges-Rovnyak space $\mathcal{H}(K_S)$ associated with a contractive multiplier $S$ between two Fock spaces along with its commutative counterpart, a de Branges-Rovnyak space associated with a Schur multiplier on the Drury-Arveson space of the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^n$.
Motivated by recent applications of weighted norm inequalities to maximal regularity of first and second order Cauchy problems, we study real interpolation spaces on the basis of general Banach function spaces and, in particular, weighted rearrangement invariant Banach function spaces. We show equivalence of the trace method and the $K$-method, identify real interpolation spaces between a Banach space and the domain of a sectorial operator, and reprove an extension of Dore's theorem on the boundedness of $H^\infty$-functional calculus to this general setting.
In this paper, we present the complex interpolation of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with generalized smoothness. In some particular cases these function spaces are just weighted Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. An application, we obtain the complex interpolation between the weighted Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $\dot{F}_{p_{0},q_{0}}^{s_{0}}(ω_{0})$ and $\dot{F}_{\infty ,q_{1}}^{s_{1}}(ω_{1})\ $with suitable assumptions on the parameters $\ s_{0},s_{1},p_{0},$ $q_{0}$ and$\ q_{1}$, and the pair of weights $(ω_{0},ω_{1})$.
A general interpolation problem with operator argument is studied for functions f from the de Branges-Rovnyak space H(s) associated with an analytic function s mapping the open unit disk D into the closed unit disk. The interpolation condition is taken in the Rosenblum-Rovnyak form f(A)c = b (with a suitable interpretation of f(A)c) for given Hilbert space operator A and two vectors b; c from the same space.
Interpolation Theory gives techniques for constructing spaces from two initial Banach spaces. We provide several conditions under which the restriction of a holomorphic map $f:X_0+X_1 \rightarrow Y_0+Y_1$ to the interpolated spaces (using some specific interpolation methods), where $f_{|X_0}:X_0 \rightarrow Y_0$ is compact, is also compact and holomorphic.
We study the interpolation and extrapolation properties of strictly singular operators between different $L_p$ spaces. To this end, the structure of strictly singular non-compact operators between $L_p-L_q$ spaces is analyzed. Among other things, we clarify the relation between strict singularity and the $L$-characteristic set of an operator. In particular, Krasnoselskii's interpolation theorem for compact operators is extended to the class of strictly singular operators.
Grothendieck's theorem asserts that every continuous linear operator from $\ell_1$ to $\ell_2$ is absolutely $(1,1)$-summing. This kind of result is commonly called coincidence result. In this paper we investigate coincidence results in the multilinear setting, showing how the cotype of the spaces involved affect such results. The special role played by $\ell_1$ spaces is also investigated with relation to interpolation of tensor products. In particular, an open problem on the interpolation of $m$ injective tensor products is solved.
We prove that an interpolation pair of Banach lattices is uniquely determined by the collection of intermediate spaces with the property that these are interpolation spaces for positive operators. A correspondent result for exact interpolation is also presented.
In the first part of this work, we study the absolutely continuous operators which are defined on fuction spaces with wide sense. In the second part, we show some results concerning the absoltely continuous operators when the function spaces (with wide sense) are interpolation spaces.
We investigate the properties of a class of weighted vector-valued $L_p$-spaces and the corresponding (an)isotropic Sobolev-Slobodetskii spaces. These spaces arise naturally in the context of maximal $L_p$-regularity for parabolic initial-boundary value problems. Our main tools are operators with a bounded $\calH^\infty$-calculus, interpolation theory, and operator sums.
We study the relationship between exact interpolation spaces for positive, linear operators, for order preserving, Lipschitz continuous operators, and for positive Gagliardo-Peetre operators, and exact partially $K$-monotone spaces in interpolation couples of compatible Banach lattices. By general Banach lattice theory we recover a characterisation of exact interpolation spaces for order preserving, Lipschitz continuous operators in the couple $(L^1,L^\infty )$ due to Bénilan and Crandall.
The family of harmonic Hilbert spaces is a natural enlargement of those classical $L^{2}$-Sobolev space on $\R^d$ which consist of continuous functions. In the present paper we demonstrate that the use of basic results from the theory of Wiener amalgam spaces allows to establish fundamental properties of harmonic Hilbert spaces even if they are defined over an arbitrary locally compact abelian group $\G$. Even for $\G = \R^{d}$ this new approach improves previously known results. In this paper we present results on minimal norm interpolators over lattices and show that the infinite minimal nor…
We prove an abstract theorem on keeping the compactness property of a linear operator after interpolation in Banach spaces. No analytical presentation of operators, spaces and interpolation functor is required. We use only some little-known properties of compact sets and various facts about bases and basic sequences (with detailed references to the monograph "Bases in Banach spaces", Vol. I-II by I.M. Singer). Therefore the results are applicable to arbitrary spaces and any interpolation functor, including the complex method. The "two-sided" compactness is also mentioned at the end of this pap…
In this paper, we introduce some difference sequence spaces in bigeometric calculus. We determine the $α$-duals of these sequence spaces and study their matrix transformations. We also develop an interpolating polynomial in bigeometric calculus which is analogous to the classical Hermite interpolating polynomial.
We characterize sampling and interpolating sets with derivatives in weighted Fock spaces on the complex plane in terms of their weighted Beurling densities.
M. Daher [9] showed that if $(X_0, X_1)$ is a regular couple of uniformly convex spaces then the unit spheres of the complex interpolation spaces $X_θ$ and $X_η$ are uniformly homeomorphic for every $0 < θ, η< 1$. We show that this is a rather general phenomenon of interpolation methods described by the discrete framework of interpolation of [15].
This paper provides an overview of interpolation of Banach and Hilbert spaces, with a focus on establishing when equivalence of norms is in fact equality of norms in the key results of the theory. (In brief, our conclusion for the Hilbert space case is that, with the right normalisations, all the key results hold with equality of norms.) In the final section we apply the Hilbert space results to the Sobolev spaces $H^s(Ω)$ and $\widetilde{H}^s(Ω)$, for $s\in \mathbb{R}$ and an open $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$. We exhibit examples in one and two dimensions of sets $Ω$ for which these scales of Sobo…
The paper studies the interpolation properties of net spaces $N_{p,q}(M)$, when $M$ is the set of dyadic cubes in $\mathbb{R}^n$, and also when $M$ is the family of all cubes with parallel faces to the coordinate axes in $\mathbb{R}^n$. It is shown that, in the case when $M$ is the set of dyadic cubes the scale of spaces is closed with respect to the real interpolation method. In the case, when $M$ is the set of all cubes with parallel faces to the coordinate axes, an analogue of the Marcinkiewicz-Calderon theorem on cones of non-negative functions is given.
Following ideas from the Abstract Interpolation Problem of Katsnelson et al. (Operators in spaces of functions and problems in function theory, vol 146, pp 83-69, Naukova Dumka, Keiv, 1987) for Schur class functions, we study a general metric constrained interpolation problem for functions from a vector-valued de Branges-Rovnyak space $\mathcal{H}(K_S)$ associated with an operator-valued Schur class function $S$. A description of all solutions is obtained in terms of functions from an associated de Branges-Rovnyak space satisfying only a bound on the de Branges-Rovnyak-space norm. Attention is…
We present sharp interpolation theorems, including all limiting cases, for a class of quasilinear operators of joint weak type acting between Lorentz-Karamata spaces over $σ$-finite measure. This class contains many of the important integral operators. The optimality in the scale of Lorentz-Karamata spaces is also discussed. The proofs of our results rely on a characterization of Hardy-type inequalities restricted to monotone functions and with power-slowly varying weights. Some of the limiting cases of these inequalities have not been considered in the literature so far.
