Lecture notes on duality and interpolation spaces

Known or essentially known results about duals of interpolation spaces are presented, taking a point of view sometimes slightly different from the usual one. Particular emphasis is placed on Alberto Calderon's theorem describing the duals of his complex interpolation spaces [A_0,A_1]_θ. The pace is slow, since these notes are intended for graduate students who have just begun to study interpolation spaces. This second version corrects some small misprints. It also draws attention to a convenient norming subspace of the dual of a complex interpolation space, and to the slight difference between the spaces \mathcal{G}(X_0,X_1) introduced by Calderon and by Stafney.

Lecture notes on complex interpolation of compactness

Suppose that the linear operator $T$ maps $X_0$ compactly to $Y_0$ and also maps $X_1$ boundedly to $Y_1$. We deal once again with the 51 year old question of whether $T$ also always maps the complex interpolation space $[X_0,X_1]_θ$ compactly to $[Y_0,Y_1]_θ$. Duality in a stability problem for some functionals arising in interpolation theory

By using duality, it is shown that there exist near-minimizers for the distance functionals for the couple $(L^\infty, L^p)$, $1<p<\infty$, that are stable under the action of singular integral operators.

Duality, Tangential Interpolation, and Toeplitz Corona Problems

In this paper we extend a method of Arveson and McCullough to prove a tangential interpolation theorem for subalgebras of $H^\infty$. This tangential interpolation result implies a Toelitz corona theorem. In particular, it is shown that the set of matrix positivity conditions is indexed by cyclic subspaces, which is analogous to the results obtained for the ball and the polydisk algebra by Trent-Wick and Douglas-Sarkar.

Pivot duality of universal interpolation and extrapolation spaces

Interpolation and duality in algebras of multipliers on the ball

We study the multiplier algebras $A(\mathcal{H})$ obtained as the closure of the polynomials on certain reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces $\mathcal{H}$ on the ball $\mathbb{B}_d$ of $\mathbb{C}^d$. Duality, convexity and peak interpolation in the Drury-Arveson space

We consider the closed algebra $\mathcal{A}_d$ generated by the polynomial multipliers on the Drury-Arveson space. We identify $\mathcal{A}_d^*$ as a direct sum of the preduals of the full multiplier algebra and of a commutative von Neumann algebra, and establish analogues of many classical results concerning the dual space of the ball algebra. Pick interpolation on the polydisc: small families of sufficient kernels

We give a solution to Pick's interpolation problem on the unit polydisc in $\mathbb{C}^n$, $n\geq 2$, by characterizing all interpolation data that admit a $\mathbb{D}$-valued interpolant, in terms of a family of positive-definite kernels parametrized by a class of polynomials. This uses a duality approach that has been associated with Pick interpolation, together with some approximation theory. Furthermore, we use duality methods to understand the set of points on the $n$-torus at which the boundary values of a given solution to an extremal interpolation problem are not unimodular.

Duality problem for disjointly homogeneous rearrangement invariant spaces

Reproducing kernel estimates, bounded projections and duality on large weighted Bergman spaces

We obtain ceratin estimates for the reproducing kernels of large weighted Bergman spaces. Applications of these estimates to boundedness of the Bergman projection on $L^p(\D,ω^{p/2})$, complex interpolation and duality of weighted Bergman spaces are given.

Noncommutative Boyd interpolation theorems

We present a new, elementary proof of Boyd's interpolation theorem. Our approach naturally yields a noncommutative version of this result and even allows for the interpolation of certain operators on l^1-valued noncommutative symmetric spaces. By duality we may interpolate several well-known noncommutative maximal inequalities. Sampling and interpolation in Bargmann-Fock spaces of polyanalytic functions

Using Gabor analysis, we give a complete characterization of all lattice sampling and interpolating sequences in the Fock space of polyanalytic functions, displaying a "Nyquist rate" which increases with $n$, the degree of polyanaliticity of the space. Such conditions are equivalent to sharp lattice density conditions for certain vector-valued Gabor systems, namely superframes and Gabor super-Riesz sequences with Hermite windows, and in the case of superframes they were studied recently by Gröchenig and Lyubarskii.
