In this paper, we apply experimental number theory to two integrable quantum models in one dimension, the Lieb-Liniger Bose gas and the Yang-Gaudin Fermi gas with contact interactions. We identify patterns in weak- and strong-coupling series expansions of the ground-state energy, local correlation functions and pressure. Based on the most accurate data available in the literature, we make a few conjectures about their mathematical structure and extrapolate to higher orders.
We present a systematic procedure to extract the perturbative series for the ground state energy density in the Lieb-Liniger and Gaudin-Yang models, starting from the Bethe ansatz solution. This makes it possible to calculate explicitly the coefficients of these series and to study their large order behavior. We find that both series diverge factorially and are not Borel summable. In the case of the Gaudin-Yang model, the first Borel singularity is determined by the non-perturbative energy gap. This provides a new perspective on the Cooper instability.
We derive explicit expressions for dynamical correlations of the field and density operators in the Lieb-Liniger model, within an arbitrary eigenstate with a small particle density ${\cal D}$. They are valid for all space and time and any interaction strength $c>0$, and are the leading order of an expansion in ${\cal D}$. This expansion is obtained by writing the correlation functions as sums over form factors when formally decomposed into partial fractions.
We consider the time evolution of local observables after an interaction quench in the repulsive Lieb-Liniger model. The system is initialized in the ground state for vanishing interaction and then time-evolved with the Lieb-Liniger Hamiltonian for large, finite interacting strength $c$. We employ the Quench Action approach to express the full time evolution of local observables in terms of sums over energy eigenstates and then derive the leading terms of a $1/c$ expansion for several one and two-point functions as a function of time $t > 0$ after the quantum quench. We observe delicate cancel…
We develop an alternative description to solve the problem of the ground-state energy of the Lieb-Liniger model that describes one-dimensional bosons with contact repulsion. For this integrable model we express the Lieb integral equation in the representation of Chebyshev polynomials. The latter form is convenient to efficiently obtain very precise numerical results in the singular limit of weak interaction. Such highly precise data enable us to use the integer relation algorithm to discover the analytical form of the coefficients in the expansion of the ground-state energy for small values of…
Aiming at studying the emergence of Non-Equilibrium Steady States (NESS) in quantum integrable models by means of an exact analytical method, we focus on the Tonks-Girardeau or hard-core boson limit of the Lieb-Liniger model. We consider the abrupt expansion of a gas from one half to the entire confining box, a prototypical case of inhomogeneous quench, also known as "geometric quench". Based on the exact calculation of quench overlaps, we develop an analytical method for the derivation of the NESS by rigorously treating the thermodynamic and large time and distance limit. Our method is based …
Using the Bethe ansatz solution, we analytically study expansionary, magnetic and interacting Grüneisen parameters (GPs) for one-dimensional (1D) Lieb-Liniger and Yang-Gaudin models. These different GPs elegantly quantify the dependences of characteristic energy scales of these quantum gases on the volume, the magnetic field and the interaction strength, revealing the caloric effects resulted from the variations of these potentials. The obtained GPs further confirm an identity which is incurred by the symmetry of the thermal potential. We also present universal scaling behavior of these GPs in…
Quantum systems exhibit recurrence phenomena after equilibration, but it is a difficult task to evaluate the recurrence time of a quantum system because it drastically increases as the system size increases (usually double-exponential in the number of particles) and strongly depends on the initial state. Here, we analytically derive the recurrence times of the Lieb-Liniger model with relatively small particle numbers for the weak and strong coupling regimes. It turns out that these recurrence times are independent of the initial state and increases only polynomially in the system size.
We continue our study of the emergence of Non-Equilibrium Steady States in quantum integrable models focusing on the expansion of a Lieb-Liniger gas for arbitrary repulsive interaction. As a first step towards the derivation of the asymptotics of observables in the thermodynamic and large distance and time limit, we derive an exact multiple integral representation of the time evolved many-body wave-function. Starting from the known but complicated expression for the overlaps of the initial state of a geometric quench, which are derived from the Slavnov formula for scalar products of Bethe stat…
We consider the construction of a generalized Gibbs ensemble composed of complete bases of conserved charges in the repulsive Lieb-Liniger model. We will show that it is possible to construct these bases with varying locality as well as demonstrating that such constructions are always possible provided one has in hand at least one complete basis set of charges. This procedure enables the construction of bases of charges that possess well defined, finite expectation values given an arbitrary initial state. We demonstrate the use of these charges in the context of two different quantum quenches:…
We study the ground state one-body correlation function in the Lieb-Liniger model. In the spectral representation, correlations are built from contributions stemming from different excited states of the model. We aim to understand which excited states carry significant contributions, specifically focusing on the small energy-momentum part of the dynamic one-body function. We conjecture that relevant excitations take form similar to two-spinon states known from XXZ spin chain. We validate this hypothesis by numerical evaluation of the correlator with ABACUS algorithm and by analytical computati…
We review the recently introduced thermodynamic form factors for pairs of particle-hole excitations on finite-entropy states in the Lieb-Liniger model. We focus on the density operator and we show how the form factors can be used for analytic computations of dynamical correlation functions. We derive a new representation for the form factors and we discuss some aspects of their structure. We rigorously show that in the small momentum limit (or equivalently, on hydrodynamic scales) a single particle-hole excitation fully saturates the spectral sum and we also discuss the contribution from two p…
Approximate expression for the dynamic structure factor in the Lieb-Liniger model
最近,Imambekov和Glazman [Phys. Rev. Lett.
We study the classical and quantum Fisher information for the Lieb-Liniger model. The Fisher information has been studied extensively when the parameter is inscribed on a quantum state by a unitary process, e.g., Mach-Zehnder or Ramsey interferometry. Here, we investigate the case that a Hamiltonian parameter to be estimated is imprinted on eigenstates of that Hamiltonian, and thus is not necessarily encoded by a unitary operator. Taking advantage of the fact that the Lieb-Liniger model is exactly solvable, the Fisher information is determined for periodic and hard-wall boundary conditions, va…
We study how dark solitons, i.e. solutions of one-dimensional single-particle nonlinear time-dependent Schrödinger equation, emerge from eigenstates of a linear many-body model of contact interacting bosons moving on a ring, the Lieb-Liniger model. This long-standing problem was addressed by various groups, which presented different, seemingly unrelated, procedures to reveal the solitonic waves directly from the many-body model. Here, we propose a unification of these results using a simple Ansatz for the many-body eigenstate of the Lieb-Liniger model, which gives us access to systems of hundr…
The emergence of a compressible insulator phase, known as the Bose glass, is characteristic of the interplay of interactions and disorder in correlated Bose fluids. While widely studied in tight-binding models, its observation remains elusive owing to stringent temperature effects. Here we show that this issue may be overcome by using Lieb-Liniger bosons in shallow quasiperiodic potentials. A Bose glass, surrounded by superfluid and Mott phases, is found above a critical potential and for finite interactions. At finite temperature, we show that the melting of the Mott lobes is characteristic o…
The universal Tan relations connect a variety of microscopic features of many-body quantum systems with two-body contact interactions to a single quantity, called the contact. The latter has become pivotal in the description of quantum gases. We provide a complete characterization of the Tan contact of the harmonically trapped Lieb-Liniger gas for arbitrary interactions and temperature.Combining thermal Bethe ansatz, local-density approximation, and exact quantum Monte Carlo calculations,we show that the contact is a universal function of only two scaling parameters, and determine the scaling f…
We provide a thorough characterisation of the zero-temperature one-particle density matrix of trapped interacting anyonic gases in one dimension, exploiting recent advances in the field theory description of spatially inhomogeneous quantum systems. We first revisit homogeneous anyonic gases with point-wise interactions. In the harmonic Luttinger liquid expansion of the one-particle density matrix for finite interaction strength, the non-universal field amplitudes were not yet known. We extract them from the Bethe Ansatz formula for the field form factors, providing an exact asymptotic expansio…
The kicked rotor system is a textbook example of how classical and quantum dynamics can drastically differ. The energy of a classical particle confined to a ring and kicked periodically will increase linearly in time whereas in the quantum version the energy saturates after a finite number of kicks. The quantum system undergoes Anderson localization in the angular-momentum space. Conventional wisdom says that in a many-particle system with short-range interactions the localization will be destroyed due to the coupling of widely separated momentum states. Here we provide evidence that for an in…
We show that the contact parameter of N harmonically-trapped interacting 1D bosons at zero temperature can be analytically and accurately obtained by a simple rescaling of the exact two-boson solution, and that N-body effects can be almost factorized. The small deviations observed between our analytical results and DMRG calculations are more pronounced when the interaction energy is maximal (i.e. at intermediate interaction strengths) but they remain bounded by the large-N local-density approximation obtained from the Lieb-Liniger equation of state stemming from the Bethe Ansatz. The rescaled …
