We study groups of germs of complex diffeomorphisms having a property called irreducibility. The notion is motivated by a similar property of the fundamental group of the complement of an irreducible hypersurface in the complex projective space. Natural examples of such groups of germ maps are given by holonomy groups and monodromy groups of integrable systems (foliations) under certain conditions on the singular or ramification set. The case of complex dimension one is studied in [7] where finiteness is proved for irreducible groups under certain arithmetic hypothesis on the linear part. In dimension $n \geq 2$ the picture changes since linear groups are not always abelian in dimension two or bigger. Nevertheless, we still obtain a finiteness result under some conditions in the linear part of the group, for instance if the linear part is abelian. Examples are given illustrating the role of our hypotheses. Applications are given to the framework of holomorphic foliations and analytic deformations of rational fibrations by Riccati foliations.
We are interested in characterizing the holonomy maps associated to integral curves of non-degenerate singularities of holomorphic vector fields. Such a description is well-known in dimension 2 where is a key ingredient in the study of reduced singularities. The most intricate case in the 2 dimensional setting corresponds to (Siegel) saddle singularities. This work treats the analogous problem for saddles in higher dimension. We show that any germ of holomorphic biholomorphism, in any dimension, can be obtained as the holonomy map associated to an integral curve of a saddle singularity. A natu…
We prove a generalisation of Bott's vanishing theorem for the full transverse frame holonomy groupoid of any transversely orientable foliated manifold. As a consequence we obtain a characteristic map encoding both primary and secondary characteristic classes. Previous descriptions of this characteristic map are formulated for the Morita equivalent étale groupoid obtained via a choice of complete transversal. By working with the full holonomy groupoid we obtain novel geometric representatives of characteristic classes. In particular we give a geometric, non-étale analogue of the codimension 1 G…

Following Losik's approach to Gelfand's formal geometry, certain characteristic classes for codimension-one foliations coming from the Gelfand-Fuchs cohomology are considered. Sufficient conditions for non-triviality in terms of dynamical properties of generators of the holonomy groups are found. The non-triviality for the Reeb foliations is shown; this is in contrast with some classical theorems on the Godbillon-Vey class, e.g, the Mizutani-Morita-Tsuboi Theorem about triviality of the Godbillon-Vey class of foliations almost without holonomy is not true for the classes under consideration. I…

We study Henon maps which are perturbations of a hyperbolic polynomial p with connected Julia set. We give a complete description of the critical locus of these maps. In particular, we show that for each critical point c of p, there is a primary component of the critical locus asymptotic to the line y = c. Moreover, primary components are conformally equivalent to the punctured disk, and their orbits cover the whole critical set. We also describe the holonomy maps from such a component to itself along the leaves of two natural foliations. Finally, we show that a quadratic Henon map taken along…
We study under the standpoint of integrable complex analytic 1-forms (complex analytic foliations), a class of second order ordinary differential equations with periodic coefficients. More precisely, we study Hill's equations of motion of the moon, which are related to the dynamics of the system Sun-Earth-Moon. We associate to the {\em complex Hill equation} an integrable complex analytic one-form in dimension three. This defines a {\it Hill foliation}. The existence of first integral for a Hill foliation is then studied. The simple cases correspond to the existence of rational or Liouvillian …
