Given graphs $H_1, \dots, H_t$, a graph $G$ is $(H_1, \dots, H_t)$-Ramsey-minimal if every $t$-coloring of the edges of $G$ contains a monochromatic $H_i$ in color $i$ for some $i\in\{1, \dots, t\}$, but any proper subgraph of $G $ does not possess this property. We define $\mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t)$ to be the family of $(H_1, \dots, H_t)$-Ramsey-minimal graphs. A graph $G$ is \dfn{$\mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t)$-saturated} if no element of $\mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t)$ is a subgraph of $G$, but for any edge $e$ in $\overline{G}$, some element of $\mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t)$ is a subgraph of $G + e$. We define $sat(n, \mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t))$ to be the minimum number of edges over all $\mathcal{R}_{\min}(H_1, \dots, H_t)$-saturated graphs on $n$ vertices. In 1987, Hanson and Toft conjectured that $sat(n, \mathcal{R}_{\min}(K_{k_1}, \dots, K_{k_t}) )= (r - 2)(n - r + 2)+\binom{r - 2}{2} $ for $n \ge r$, where $r=r(K_{k_1}, \dots, K_{k_t})$ is the classical Ramsey number for complete graphs. The first non-trivial case of Hanson and Toft's conjecture for sufficiently large $n$ was setteled in 2011, and is so far the only settled case. Motivated by Hanson and Toft's conjecture, we study the minimum number of edges over all $\mathcal{R}_{\min}(K_3, \mathcal{T}_k)$-saturated graphs on $n$ vertices, where $\mathcal{T}_k$ is the family of all trees on $k$ vertices. We show that for $n \ge 18$, $sat(n, \mathcal{R}_{\min}(K_3, \mathcal{T}_4)) =\lfloor {5n}/{2}\rfloor$. For $k \ge 5$ and $n \ge 2k + (\lceil k/2 \rceil +1) \lceil k/2 \rceil -2$, we obtain an asymptotic bound for $sat(n, \mathcal{R}_{\min}(K_3, \mathcal{T}_k))$.
For graphs $F$, $G$, and $H$, we write $F \to (G,H)$ if every red-blue coloring of the edges of $F$ produces a red copy of $G$ or a blue copy of $H$. The graph $F$ is said to be $(G,H)$-minimal if it is subgraph-minimal with respect to this property. The characterization problem for Ramsey-minimal graphs is classically done for finite graphs. In 2021, Barrett and the second author generalized this problem to infinite graphs. They asked which pairs $(G,H)$ admit a Ramsey-minimal graph and which ones do not. We show that any pair of star forests such that at least one of them involves an infinit…
We determine Turán numbers for the family of 3-uniform minimal paths of length four \emph{for all $n$}. We also establish the second and third order Turán numbers and use them to compute the corresponding Ramsey numbers for up to four colors.
Given any graph $H$, a graph $G$ is said to be $q$-Ramsey for $H$ if every coloring of the edges of $G$ with $q$ colors yields a monochromatic subgraph isomorphic to $H$. Further, such a graph $G$ is said to be minimal $q$-Ramsey for $H$ if additionally no proper subgraph $G'$ of $G$ is $q$-Ramsey for $H$. In 1976, Burr, Erdős, and Lovász initiated the study of the parameter $s_q(H)$, defined as the smallest minimum degree among all minimal $q$-Ramsey graphs for $H$. In this paper, we consider the problem of determining how many vertices of degree $s_q(H)$ a minimal $q$-Ramsey graph for $H$ ca…
We prove that $s_r(K_k) = O(k^5 r^{5/2})$, where $s_r(K_k)$ is the Ramsey parameter introduced by Burr, Erdős and Lovász in 1976, which is defined as the smallest minimum degree of a graph $G$ such that any $r$-colouring of the edges of $G$ contains a monochromatic $K_k$, whereas no proper subgraph of $G$ has this property. The construction used in our proof relies on a group theoretic model of generalised quadrangles introduced by Kantor in 1980.

We define a collection of topological Ramsey spaces consisting of equivalence relations on $ω$ with the property that the minimal representatives of the equivalence classes alternate according to a fixed partition of $ω$. To prove the associated pigeonhole principles, we make use of the left-variable Hales-Jewett theorem and its extension to an infinite alphabet. We also show how to transfer the corresponding infinite-dimensional Ramsey results to equivalence relations on countable limit ordinals (up to a necessary restriction on the set of minimal representatives of the equivalence classes) i…
A graph $G$ is said to be $q$-Ramsey for a $q$-tuple of graphs $(H_1,\ldots,H_q)$, denoted by $G\to_q(H_1,\ldots,H_q)$, if every $q$-edge-coloring of $G$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H_i$ in color $i,$ for some $i\in[q]$. Let $s_q(H_1,\ldots,H_q)$ denote the smallest minimum degree of $G$ over all graphs $G$ that are minimal $q$-Ramsey for $(H_1,\ldots,H_q)$ (with respect to subgraph inclusion). The study of this parameter was initiated in 1976 by Burr, Erdős and Lovász, who determined its value precisely for a pair of cliques. Over the past two decades the parameter $s_q$ has been studie…
For fixed finite graphs $G$, $H$, a common problem in Ramsey theory is to study graphs $F$ such that $F \to (G,H)$, i.e. every red-blue coloring of the edges of $F$ produces either a red $G$ or a blue $H$. We generalize this study to infinite graphs $G$, $H$; in particular, we want to determine if there is a minimal such $F$. This problem has strong connections to the study of self-embeddable graphs: infinite graphs which properly contain a copy of themselves. We prove some compactness results relating this problem to the finite case, then give some general conditions for a pair $(G,H)$ to hav…
We study two problems in graph Ramsey theory. In the early 1970's, Erdős and O'Neil considered a generalization of Ramsey numbers. Given integers $n,k,s$ and $t$ with $n \ge k \ge s,t \ge 2$, they asked for the least integer $N=f_k(n,s,t)$ such that in any red-blue coloring of the $k$-subsets of $\{1, 2,\ldots, N\}$, there is a set of size $n$ such that either each of its $s$-subsets is contained in some red $k$-subset, or each of its $t$-subsets is contained in some blue $k$-subset. Erdős and O'Neil found an exact formula for $f_k(n,s,t)$ when $k\ge s+t-1$. In the arguably more interesting ca…
Given graphs $ F_1, F_2$ and $G$, we say that $G$ is Ramsey for $(F_1,F_2)$ and we write $G\rightarrow(F_1, F_2)$, if for every edge coloring of $G$ by red and blue, there is either a red copy of $F_1$ or a blue copy of $F_2$ in $G$. The size Ramsey number $\hat{r}(F_1, F_2)$ is defined as the minimum number of edges of a graph $G$ such that $G\rightarrow(F_1, F_2)$. This paper provides the exact value of $\hat{r}(F_1, F_2)$ for many pairs $(F_1, F_2)$ of star forests, giving a partial solution to a conjecture of Burr et al. (Ramsey-minimal graphs for multiple copies, Indagationes Mathematicae…
For a partially ordered set $(A, \le)$, let $G_A$ be the simple, undirected graph with vertex set $A$ such that two vertices $a \neq b\in A$ are adjacent if either $a \le b$ or $b \le a$. We call $G_A$ the \emph{partial order graph} or \emph{comparability graph} of $A$. Further, we say that a graph $G$ is a partial order graph if there exists a partially ordered set $A$ such that $G = G_A$. For a class $\mathcal{C}$ of simple, undirected graphs and $n$, $m \ge 1$, we define the Ramsey number $\mathcal{R}_{\mathcal{C}}(m,n)$ with respect to $\mathcal{C}$ to be the minimal number of vertices $r$…
Given posets $\mathbf{P}_1,\mathbf{P}_2,\ldots,\mathbf{P}_k$, let the {\em Boolean Ramsey number} $R(\mathbf{P}_1,\mathbf{P}_2,\ldots,\mathbf{P}_k)$ be the minimum number $n$ such that no matter how we color the elements in the Boolean lattice $\mathbf{B}_n$ with $k$ colors, there always exists a poset $\mathbf{P}_i$ contained in $\mathbf{B}_n$ whose elements are all colored with $i$. This function was first introduced by Axenovich and Walzer~\cite{AW}. Recently, many results on determining $R(\mathbf{B}_m,\mathbf{B}_n)$ have been published. In this paper, we will study the function $R(\mathbf…

The noncommutative Gurarij space $\mathbb{\mathbb{\mathbb{NG}}}$, initially defined by Oikhberg, is a canonical object in the theory of operator spaces. As the Fra\"ıssé limit of the class of finite-dimensional nuclear operator spaces, it can be seen as the noncommutative analogue of the classical Gurarij Banach space. In this paper, we prove that the automorphism group of $\mathbb{\mathbb{NG}}$ is extremely amenable, i.e.\ any of its actions on compact spaces has a fixed point. The proof relies on the Dual Ramsey Theorem, and a version of the Kechris--Pestov--Todorcevic correspondence in the …
We investigate Ramsey expansions, the coherent extension property for partial isometries (EPPA), and the existence of a stationary independence relation for all classes of metrically homogeneous graphs from Cherlin's catalogue. We show that, with the exception of tree-like graphs, all metric spaces in the catalogue have precompact Ramsey expansions (or lifts) with the expansion property. With two exceptions we can also characterise the existence of a stationary independence relation and coherent EPPA. Our results are a contribution to Nešetřil's classification programme of Ramsey classes and c…
The Rado number of an equation is a Ramsey-theoretic quantity associated to the equation. Let $\mathcal{E}$ be a linear equation. Denote by $\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E})$ the minimal integer, if it exists, such that any $r$-coloring of $[1,\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E})]$ must admit a monochromatic solution to $\mathcal{E}$. In this paper, we give upper and lower bounds for the Rado number of $\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}x_i+kx_{m-1}=\ell x_{m}$, and some exact values are also given. Furthermore, we derive some results for the cases that $\ell=m=4$ and $m=5, \ell=k+i \ (1\leq i\leq 5)$. As a generaliz…
