The Fe-doped CuO thin films were deposited onto glass substrates by Spray pyrolysis technique. The structural, micro-structural, optical and electrical properties of the synthesized samples were investigated in details. The X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Raman and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, confirmed that the studied samples exhibit single phase monoclinic structure of CuO. The UV-VIS spectrophotometer mentioned that the transmittance increases to 80 % when increasing the Fe concentration. Furthermore, the band gap energy of the obtained CuO was 1.29 eV. This value was slightly increased by the Fe substitution. In addition, the electrical properties of the films such as the conductivity, the mobility, the resistivity and the carrier concentration have been studied. The Hall Effect measurements confirmed the p-type conductivity of the studied films.

Deposition temperatures have been investigated from 300°C to 600°C. Films have been studied regarding their crystallity and doping quality. Structural and composition characterisations of TiO2:Tm,Yb were performed by electron microprobe, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The deposition rate can reach 0.8 \mum/h. …
High oxidation potential indicates anodes have high oxidation power and high current efficiency for organics oxidation. In this paper, we prepared Ti/Cu-SnO2 anodes using spray pyrolysis method. The Ti/Cu-SnO2 anodes have an ultra-high oxidation potential of about 2.7 V vs NHE, suitable for use in wastewater treatment. The Ti/Cu-SnO2 anodes exhibit the preferred orientation along (110) plane at high Cu doped concentration. First-principles calculations suggest that work function of Cu-SnO2 increases with the Cu doping concentration. It is obtained that the preferred (110) plane and the high wo…
Nickel and antimony co-doped Ti/SnO2 (Ti/Ni-Sb-SnO2) anodes were prepared by spray pyrolysis. Effects of nickel concentration on the structure and onset potential for oxygen evolution of Ti/Ni-Sb-SnO2 anodes have been systematically investigated. XRD analyses suggest that SnO2 thin films grow in preferential orientation along (101) plane as the nickel concentration increases. The enhanced onset potential of oxygen is above 2.4 V vs NHE due to the introduction of nickel doping, and increases slightly with the nickel concentration. The calculated results show that work function of Ni/Sb co-doped…
Polycrystalline thin films of double layer manganite La_1.4Ca_1.6Mn_2O_7 (DLCMO) have been deposited by nebulized spray pyrolysis on single crystal LaAlO_3 substrates. These single phase films having grain size in the range 70-100 nm exhibit ferromagnetic transition at T_C ~ 107K. The short range ferromagnetic ordering due to in plane spin coherence is evidenced to occur at a higher temperature around 225 K. Insulator/semiconductor to metal transition occurs at a lower temperature T_P ~ 55K. The transport mechanism above T_C is of Mott`s variable range hopping type. Below T_C the current-volta…
Thin films of cadmium stannate was prepared using low cost cadmium acetate and tin (II) chloride precursors by spray pyrolysis technique at three different substrate temperatures of 400, 450 and 5000 C. A novel procedure of simultaneously forming additional layer, introduced for the first time in this work, on the already coated cadmium stannate film reduced the sheet resistance from 160 ohms/sq to 15 ohms/sq. Further, it is identified that the formation of additional layer does not affect the structural and optical properties of the cadmium stannate films, but improves the electrical property…
The structural, optical and electrical properties of spray deposited antimony (Sb) doped tin oxide (SnO2) thin films, prepared from SnCl4 precursor, have been studied as a function of antimony doping concentration. The doping concentration was varied from 0 to 1.5 wt.% of Sb. The analysis of x-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the as deposited doped and undoped tin oxide thin films are pure crystalline tetragonal rutile phase of tin oxide which belongs to the space group P42/mnm (number 136). The surface morphological examination with field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) re…
Thin films of uniformly distributed Fe2O3 nanoparticles have been prepared on single crystal silicon and glass substrates by a spray pyrolysis technique in a single step using a mixture of water and ferrocene dissolved in xylene. The size distribution of nanoparticles is found to be in the range of 20 nm to 30 nm. The films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy techniques. The uniformity of the grown film was evident from the electron microscopic images on both the substrates. The crystallinity and band gap were investigated using X-r…

Thin films of ZnO:SnO2 were deposited on different substrates like glass and c-Si using spray pyrolysis method .The structures and morphology of the prepared samples films were cheeked using X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscope. Gas sensing measurements provided from resistance measurement in the absent and exposure to NO2 gas . The results showed that good enhancement of sensitivity take place after doping with tin oxide. Maximum sensitivity obtained at 9% doping ratio and operating temperature 200oC.
We report on a comprehensive theoretical and experimental investigation of thermal conductivity in indium-tin-oxide (ITO) thin films with various Ga concentrations (0-30 at. %) deposited by spray pyrolysis technique. X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy have shown a structural transformation in the range 15-20 at. % Ga from the nanocrystalline to the amorphous phase. Room temperature femtosecond time domain thermoreflectance measurements showed nonlinear decrease of thermal conductivity in the range 2.0-0.5 W/(m K) depending on Ga doping level. Comparing density functional …
In the present study, Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) nanofilms (NF) were grown by spray pyrolysis technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns have shown an intense peak oriented along (002) crystalline plane confirming crystalline origin of grown MZO films. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) data revealed that the average roughness decreased significantly upon Mg doping from 20.3 nm to 4.72 nm. Ambient temperature photoluminescence spectra accounted for four emission bands in the visible spectral region due to the presence of various intrinsic defect centres in the films. The non-linear absorption coefficient …

Highly oriented polycrystalline SSMO thin films deposited on single crystal substrates by ultrasonic nebulized spray pyrolysis have been studied. The film on LAO is under compressive strain while LSAT and STO are under tensile strain. The presence of a metamagnetic state akin to cluster glass formed due to coexisting FM and antiferromagnetic/charge order (AFM/CO) clusters. All the films show colossal magnetoresistance but its temperature and magnetic field dependence are drastically different. In the lower temperature region the magnetic field dependent isothermal resistivity also shows signat…

Highly conducting $SnO_{2}$ thin films were prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis technique. One set of as-deposited films were annealed in air for 2 h at 850$^{o}$C. These as-deposited and annealed films were irradiated using $Au^{9+}$ ions with energy of 120 MeV at different fluences ranging from $1\times10^{11}$ to $3\times10^{13}$ $ions/cm^{2}$. Electrical measurement shows that as-deposited $SnO_{2}$ films are in conducting state with n = $3.164 \times 10^{20}$ $cm^{-3}$ and annealed $SnO_{2}$ films are in insulating state. The amorphized latent tracks are created only above a certain thre…
