In this paper, we introduce quantum fidelity based measurement induced nonlocality for the bipartite state over two-sided von Neumann projective measurements. While all the properties of this quantity are reflected from that of one-sided measurement, the latter one is shown to set an upper bound for arbitrary bipartite state. As an illustration, we have studied the nonlocality of Bell diagonal state.
Measurement-induced nonlocality over two-sided projective measurements
Measurement induced nonlocality (MIN) captures global nonlocal effect of bipartite quantum state due to locally invariant projective measurements. In this paper, we propose a new version of MIN using fidelity induced metric, andthe same is calculated for pure and mixed states. For mixed state, the upper bound is obtained from eigenvalues of correlation matrix. Further, dynamics of MIN and fidelity based MIN under various noisy quantum channels show that they are more robust than entanglement.
In this paper we propose measurement induced nonlocality (MIN) using a metric based on fidelity to capture global nonlocal effect of a quantum state due to locally invariant projective measurements. This quantity is a remedy for local ancilla problem in the original definition of MIN. We present an analytical expression of the proposed version of MIN for pure bipartite state and 2Xn dimensional mixed state. We also provide an upper bound of the MIN for general mixed state. Finally, we compare this quantity with MINs based on Hilbert-Schmidt norm and skew information for Werner and isotropic st…
We give strong analytic and numerical evidence that, under mild measurement assumptions, two qubits cannot both be recycled to generate Bell nonlocality between multiple independent observers on each side. This is surprising, as under the same assumptions it is possible to recycle just one of the qubits an arbitrarily large number of times [P. J. Brown and R. Colbeck, Phys. Rev. Lett. 125, 090401 (2020)]. We derive corresponding 'one-sided monogamy relations' that rule out two-sided recycling for a wide range of parameters, based on a general tradeoff relation between the strengths and maximum…
In this note, we discuss a closed-form necessary and sufficient condition for any two-qubit state to show hidden nonlocality w.r.t the Bell-CHSH inequality. This is then used to numerically compute the relative volume of states showing hidden Bell-CHSH non-locality , among all two-qubit states with one-sided reduction maximally mixed.
The certification of Bell nonlocality or quantum steering implies the use of incompatible measurements. Here we make this connection quantitative. We show how to strengthen robustness-based steering and nonlocality quantifiers in order that they give strong lower bounds to previously proposed incompatibility quantifiers. Our results can be seen from two perspectives. On the one hand, they can be used to estimate how much steering or nonlocality can be demonstrated with a given set of measurements. On the other hand, they gives one-sided device-independent and device-independent ways of estimat…
There is currently much interest in the recycling of entangled systems, for use in quantum information protocols by sequential observers. In this work, we study the sequential generation of Bell nonlocality via recycling one or both components of two-qubit states. We first give a description of two-valued qubit measurements in terms of measurement bias, strength, and reversibility, and derive useful tradeoff relations between them. Then, we derive one-sided monogamy relations for unbiased observables, that strengthen the recent Conjecture in [S. Cheng {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. A \textbf{104}, L…
We report on an optical setup generating more than one bit of randomness from one entangled bit (i.e. a maximally entangled state of two-qubits). The amount of randomness is certified through the observation of Bell non-local correlations. To attain this result we implemented a high-purity entanglement source and a non-projective three-outcome measurement. Our implementation achieves a gain of 27$\%$ of randomness as compared with the standard methods using projective measurements. Additionally we estimate the amount of randomness certified in a one-sided device independent scenario, through t…
In the present work, we study tripartite quantum steering of quantum correlations arising from two local dichotomic measurements on each side in the two types of partially device-independent scenarios: $1$-sided device-independent scenario where one of the parties performs untrusted measurements while the other two parties perform trusted measurements and $2$-sided device-independent scenario where one of the parties performs trusted measurements while the other two parties perform untrusted measurements. We demonstrate that tripartite steering in the $2$-sided device-independent scenario is w…
Measurement Induced Nonlocality (MIN) captures nonlocal effects of a quantum state due to local von Neumann projective measurements, is a bonafide measure of quantum correlation between constituents of a composite system. In this paper, we study the dynamical behavior of entanglement (measured by concurrence), Hilber-Schmidt MIN and fidelity based MIN (FMIN) under local noisy channels such as hybrid (consists of bit, phase, bit and phase flip), generalized amplitude damping (GAD) and depolarizing channels for the initial Bell diagonal state. We observed that while sudden death of entanglement …
Quantum nonlocality stands as a resource for Device Independent Quantum Information Processing (DIQIP), as, for instance, Device Independent Quantum Key Distribution. We investigate experimentally the assumption of limited Measurement Dependence, i.e., that the measurement settings used in Bell inequality tests or DIQIP are partially influenced by the source of entangled particle and/or by an adversary. Using a recently derived Bell-like inequality [Phys. Rev. Lett. 113 190402] and a 99% fidelity source of partially entangled polarization photonic qubits, we obtain a clear violation of the ine…
Quantum nonlocality is arguably among the most counter-intuitive phenomena predicted by quantum theory. In recent years, the development of an abstract theory of nonlocality has brought a much deeper understanding of the subject. In parallel, experimental progress allowed for the demonstration of quantum nonlocality in a wide range of physical systems, and brings us close to a final loophole-free Bell test. Here we combine these theoretical and experimental developments in order to explore the limits of quantum nonlocality. This approach represents a thorough test of quantum theory, and could …
Nonlocality captures one of the counterintuitive features of nature that defies classical intuition. Recent investigations reveal that our physical world's nonlocality is at least tripartite; i.e., genuinely tripartite nonlocal correlations in nature cannot be reproduced by any causal theory involving bipartite nonclassical resources and unlimited shared randomness. Here, by allowing the fair sampling assumption and postselection, we experimentally demonstrate such genuine tripartite nonlocality in a network under strict locality constraints that are ensured by spacelike separating all relevan…
Device independent protocols based on Bell nonlocality, such as quantum key distribution and randomness generation, must ensure no adversary can have prior knowledge of the measurement outcomes. This requires a measurement independence assumption: that the choice of measurement is uncorrelated with any other underlying variables that influence the measurement outcomes. Conversely, relaxing measurement independence allows for a fully `causal' simulation of Bell nonlocality. We construct the most efficient such simulation, as measured by the mutual information between the underlying variables an…
Correlations in quantum networks with independent sources exhibit a completely novel form of nonclassicality in the sense that the nonlocality of such correlations can be demonstrated in fixed local input scenarios. Before the pioneering work by M.O.Renou, et al., in [1], the nonlocal feature of such network correlations was directly attributable to standard Bell nonlocality. In [1], the authors provided some of the first examples of triangle network correlations, whose nonlocality cannot be deduced from Bell-CHSH nonlocality. To date, a complete characterization of such scenarios is yet to be…
Bell nonlocality between distant quantum systems---i.e., joint correlations which violate a Bell inequality---can be verified without trusting the measurement devices used, nor those performing the measurements. This leads to unconditionally secure protocols for quantum information tasks such as cryptographic key distribution. However, complete verification of Bell nonlocality requires high detection efficiencies, and is not robust to the typical transmission losses that occur in long distance applications. In contrast, quantum steering, a weaker form of quantum correlation, can be verified fo…

We introduce a protocol for authenticated teleportation, which can be proven secure even when the receiver does not trust their measurement devices, and is experimentally accessible. We use the technique of self-testing from the device-independent approach to quantum information, where we can characterise quantum states and measurements from the exhibited classical correlations alone. First, we derive self-testing bounds for the Bell state and Pauli $σ_X, σ_Z$ measurements, that are robust enough to be implemented in the lab. Then, we use these to determine a lower bound on the fidelity of an …
We present a nondestructive parity-check detector (PCD) scheme for two single-electron quantum dots embedded in double-sided optical microcavities. Using a polarization-entangled photon pair, the PCD works in a parallel style and is robust to the phase fluctuation of the optical path length. In addition, we present an economic entanglement purification protocol for electron pairs with our nondestructive PCD. The parties in quantum communication can increase the purification efficiency and simultaneously decrease the quantum source consumed for some particular fidelity thresholds. Therefore, ou…
The Bell inequality, and its substantial experimental violation, offers a seminal paradigm for showing that the world is not in fact locally realistic. Here, going beyond the scope of Bell's inequality on physical states, we show that quantum teleportation can be used to quantitatively characterize quantum correlations of physical processes. The validity of the proposed formalism is demonstrated by considering the problem of teleportation through a linear three-node quantum network. A hierarchy is derived between the Bell nonlocality, nonbilocality, steering and nonlocality-steering hybrid cor…
Nonlocal correlations, a longstanding foundational topic in quantum information, have recently found application as a resource for cryptographic tasks where not all devices are trusted, for example in settings with a highly secure central hub, such as a bank or government department, and less secure satellite stations which are inherently more vulnerable to hardware "hacking" attacks. The asymmetric phenomena of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering plays a key role in one-sided device-independent quantum key distribution (1sDI-QKD) protocols. In the context of continuous-variable (CV) QKD schemes …

High-quality entangled photon pairs generated via spontaneous parametric down-conversion have made great contributions to the modern quantum information science and the fundamental tests of quantum mechanics. However, the quality of the entangled states decreases sharply when moving from biphoton to multiphoton experiments, mainly due to the lack of interactions between photons. Here, for the first time, we generate a four-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state with a fidelity of $98\%$, which is even comparable to the best fidelity of biphoton entangled states. Thus, it enables us to demons…
Quantum channels breaking entanglement, incompatibility, or nonlocality are defined as such because they are not useful for entanglement-based, one-sided device-independent, or device-independent quantum information processing, respectively. Here, we show that such breaking channels are related to complementary tests of macrorealism i.e., temporal separability, channel unsteerability, temporal unsteerability, and the temporal Bell inequality. To demonstrate this we first define a steerability-breaking channel, which is conceptually similar to entanglement and nonlocality-breaking channels and …
In the present paper, we attempt to address the question of "can tensorizing states have quantum advantages?". To answer this question, we exploit the notion of measurement-induced nonlocality (MIN) and advocate a fidelity based nonbilocal measure to capture the nonlocal effects of tensorizing states due to locally invariant von Neumann projective measurements. We show that the properties of the fidelity based nonbilocal measure are retrieved from that of MIN. Analytically, we evaluate the nonbilocal measure for any arbitrary pure state. The upper bounds of the nonbilocal measure based on fide…
Quantum logic gates are the key elements in quantum computing. Here we investigate the possibility of achieving a scalable and compact quantum computing based on stationary electron-spin qubits, by using the giant optical circular birefringence induced by quantum-dot spins in double-sided optical microcavities as a result of cavity quantum electrodynamics. We design the compact quantum circuits for implementing universal and deterministic quantum gates for electron-spin systems, including the two-qubit CNOT gate and the three-qubit Toffoli gate. They are compact and economic, and they do not r…
The Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox established a link between entanglement and nonlocality in quantum mechanics. EPR steering is the nonlocality associated with the EPR paradox and has traditionally only been investigated between two parties. Here, we present the first experimental observations of multipartite EPR steering, and of the genuine tripartite continuous variable entanglement of three mesoscopic optical systems. We explore different linear optics networks - each one with optimised asymmetries - that create multipartite steerable states containing different numbers of quantised…
We propose a measure of nonclassical correlation $N_{\mathcal F}^{\mathcal G}$ in terms of local Gaussian unitary operations based on square of the fidelity $\mathcal F$ for bipartite continuous-variable systems. This quantity is easier to calculate or estimate and is a remedy for the local ancilla problem associated with the geometric measurement-induced nonlocality. A simple computation formula of $N_{\mathcal F}^{\mathcal G}$ for any $(1+1)$-mode Gaussian states is presented and an estimation of $N_{\mathcal F}^{\mathcal G}$ for any $(n+m)$-mode Gaussian states is given. For any $(1+1)$-mod…
Hyperentangled Bell-state analysis (HBSA) is critical for high-capacity quantum communication. Here we design two effective schemes for error-heralded deterministic generation and self-assisted complete analysis of hyperentangled Bell states for two-photon systems in both the polarization and spatial-mode degrees of freedom, assisted by single-sided quantum-dot-cavity systems. We construct an error-heralded block with a singly charged quantum dot inside a single-sided optical microcavity, two circular polarization beam splitters, one half-wave plate, and one single-photon detector, in which th…
In this article, we consider the heterodinuclear complex [Ni(dpt)(H2O)Cu(pba)].2H2O [pba =1,3-propylenebis(oxamato) and dpt = bis-(3-aminopropyl)amine] realized through the theoretical model of mixed spin-(1/2,1) coupled via Heisenberg interaction. We study the behaviors of thermal quantum correlations of the above material via Measurement-Induced Nonlocality (MIN) based on Hilbert-Schmidt norm and fidelity. We observe that the quantum correlation measures increase with the magnetic field in an unconventional way. The role of system parameters is also brought out at thermal equilibrium. The hi…
One of the most often implied benefits of high-dimensional (HD) quantum systems is to lead to stronger forms of correlations, featuring increased robustness to noise. Here, we experimentally demonstrate the $n$-setting linear HD quantum steering criterion. We verify the large violation of the steering inequalities without full-state tomography. The lower bound of the violation is $2.24\pm0.01$ in 11 dimensions, exceeding the bound ($V<2$) of 2-setting criteria. Hence, a higher strength of steering has been revealed. Moreover, we demonstrate the method for enhancing the noise robustness without…
