We show that two involutions on the variety $N_n^+$ of upper triangular totally positive matrices are related, on the one hand, to the tetrahedron equation and, on the other hand, to the action of the symmetric group $S_3$ on some subvariety of $N_n^+$ and on the set of certain functions on $N_n^+$. Using these involutions, we obtain a family of dilogarithm identities involving minors of totally positive matrices. These identities admit a form manifestly invariant under the action of the symmetric group $S_3$.
We establish a hierarchy of quantum dilogarithm identities associated to a sequence of triangular shaped quivers. The tetrahedron equation plays a key role in our construction.
Using the quantum cluster algebra formalism of Fock and Goncharov, we present several forms of quantum dilogarithm identities associated with periodicities in quantum cluster algebras, namely, the tropical, universal, and local forms. We then demonstrate how classical dilogarithm identities naturally emerge from quantum dilogarithm identities in local form in the semiclassical limit by applying the saddle point method.
We study the root of unity degeneration of cluster algebras and quantum dilogarithm identities. We prove identities for the cyclic dilogarithm associated with a mutation sequence of a quiver, and as a consequence new identities for the non-compact quantum dilogarithm at $b=1$.
We give a new interpretation and proof of the dilogarithm identities, associated to the affine Kac-Moody algebra sl(2)^, using the path description of the corresponding crystal basis. We also discuss connections with algebraic K-theory.
We exhibit and discuss "wild" analogues of the five-term quantum dilogarithm identity. We derive these from the representation theory of quivers, using motivic wall-crossing, the geometricity of motivic Donaldson-Thomas invariants, and special properties of Kronecker moduli
Recently Cherednik and Feigin obtained several Rogers-Ramanujan type identities via the nilpotent double affine Hecke algebras (Nil-DAHA). These identities further led to a series of dilogarithm identities, some of which are known, while some are left conjectural. We confirm and explain all of them by showing the connection with Y-systems associated with (untwisted and twisted) quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras.
The dilogarithm identities for the central charges of conformal field theories of simply laced type were conjectured by Bazhanov, Kirillov, and Reshetikhin. Their functional generalizations were conjectured by Gliozzi and Tateo. They have been partly proved by various authors. We prove these identities in full generality for any pair of Dynkin diagrams of simply laced type based on the cluster algebra formulation of the Y-systems.
We study the family of Y-systems and T-systems associated with the sine-Gordon models and the reduced sine-Gordon models for the parameter of continued fractions with two terms. We formulate these systems by cluster algebras, which turn out to be of finite type, and prove their periodicities and the associated dilogarithm identities which have been conjectured earlier. In particular, this provides new examples of periodicities of seeds.
Recently dilogarithm identities have made their appearance in the physics literature. These identities seem to allow to calculate structure constants like, in particular, the effective central charge of certain conformal field theories from their fusion rules. In Nahm, Recknagel, Terhoeven (1992) a proof of identities of this type was given by considering the asymptotics of character functions in the so-called Rogers-Ramanujan sum form and comparing with the asymptotics predicted by modular covariance. Refining the argument, we obtain {\it the general connection of quantum dimensions of certai…
These are expanded notes from three survey lectures given at the 14th International Conference on Representations of Algebras (ICRA XIV) held in Tokyo in August 2010. We first study identities between products of quantum dilogarithm series associated with Dynkin quivers following Reineke. We then examine similar identities for quivers with potential and link them to Fomin-Zelevinsky's theory of cluster algebras. Here we mainly follow ideas due to Bridgeland, Fock-Goncharov, Kontsevich-Soibelman and Nagao.
We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type C_r, F_4, and G_2 at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for these Y-systems at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon.
We study the dilogarithm identities from algebraic, analytic, asymptotic, $K$-theoretic, combinatorial and representation-theoretic points of view. We prove that a lot of dilogarithm identities (hypothetically all !) can be obtained by using the five-term relation only. Among those the Coxeter, Lewin, Loxton and Browkin ones are contained. Accessibility of Lewin's one variable and Ray's multivariable (here for $n\le 2$ only) functional equations is given. For odd levels the $\hat{sl_2}$ case of Kuniba-Nakanishi's dilogarithm conjecture is proven and additional results about remainder term are …
We describe a new infinite family of multi-parameter functional equations for the Rogers dilogarithm, generalizing Abel's and Euler's formulas. They are suggested by the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz approach to the Renormalization Group flow of 2D integrable, ADE-related quantum field theories. The known sum rules for the central charge of critical fixed points can be obtained as special cases of these. We conjecture that similar functional identities can be constructed for any rational integrable quantum field theory with factorized S-matrix and support it with extensive numerical checks.
We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type B_r at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for the Y-systems of type B_r at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon. Using this new method, we also give an alternative and simplified proof of the periodicities of the T and Y-systems associated with pairs of simply laced Dynkin diagrams.
We prove several infinite families of $q$-series identities for false theta functions and related series. These identities are motivated by considerations of characters of modules of vertex operator superalgebras and of quantum dilogarithms. We also obtain closely related modular identities of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews type. As a byproduct of our identities, we establish several identities for the Rogers dilogarithm function coming from multi $q$-hypergeometric series with "double poles".
We consider two kinds of periodicities of mutations in cluster algebras. For any sequence of mutations under which exchange matrices are periodic, we define the associated T- and Y-systems. When the sequence is `regular', they are particularly natural generalizations of the known `classic' T- and Y-systems. Furthermore, for any sequence of mutations under which seeds are periodic, we formulate the associated dilogarithm identity. We prove the identities when exchange matrices are skew symmetric.
Motivated by mathematical structures which arise in string vacua and gauge theories with N=2 supersymmetry, we study the properties of certain generalized theta series which appear as Fourier coefficients of functions on a twisted torus. In Calabi-Yau string vacua, such theta series encode instanton corrections from $k$ Neveu-Schwarz five-branes. The theta series are determined by vector-valued wave-functions, and in this work we obtain the transformation of these wave-functions induced by Kontsevich-Soibelman symplectomorphisms. This effectively provides a quantum version of these transformat…
The famous pentagon identity for quantum dilogarithms has a generalization for every Dynkin quiver, due to Reineke. A more advanced generalization is associated with a pair of alternating Dynkin quivers, due to Keller. The description and proof of Keller's identities involves cluster algebras and cluster categories, and the statement of the identity is implicit. In this paper we describe Keller's identities explicitly, and prove them by a dimension counting argument. Namely, we consider quiver representations $\boldsymbol{\mathrm{Rep}}_γ$ together with a superpotential function $W_γ$, and calc…
The goal of this paper is to construct quantum analogues of Chevalley groups inside completions of quantum groups or, more precisely, inside completions of Hall algebras of finitary categories. In particular, we obtain pentagonal and other identities in the quantum Chevalley groups which generalize their classical counterparts and explain Faddeev-Volkov quantum dilogarithmic identities and their recent generalizations due to Keller
The sine-Gordon Y-systems and the reduced sine-Gordon Y-systems were introduced by Tateo in the 90's in the study of the integrable deformation of conformal field theory by the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz method. The periodicity property and the dilogarithm identities concerning these Y-systems were conjectured by Tateo, and only a part of them have been proved so far. In this paper we formulate these Y-systems by the polygon realization of cluster algebras of types A and D, and prove the conjectured periodicity and dilogarithm identities in full generality. As it turns out, there is a wonderfu…
