We give sufficient conditions for the continuity in norm of the translation operator in the Musielak-Orlicz LM spaces. An application to the convergence in norm of approximate identities is given, whereby we prove density results of the smooth functions in LM, in both modular and norm topologies. These density results are then applied to obtain basic topological properties.

We prove that the space of pointwise multipliers between two distinct Musielak--Orlicz spaces is another Musielak-Orlicz space and the function defining it is given by an appropriately generalized Legendre transform. In particular, we obtain characterization of pointwise multipliers between Nakano spaces. In this paper we show that Musielak--Orlicz spaces are UMD spaces under the so-called $Δ_2$ condition on the generalized Young function and its complemented function. We also prove that if the measure space is divisible, then a Musielak--Orlicz space has the UMD property if and only if it is reflexive. We investigate Sobolev spaces $W^{1,Φ}$ associated to Musielak-Orlicz spaces $L^Φ$. We first present conditions for the boundedness of the Voltera operator in $L^Φ$. Employing this, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for $W^{1,Φ}$ to contain isomorphic subspaces to $\ell^\infty$ or $\ell^1$. Further we give necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of the function $Φ$ or its complementary function $Φ^*$ for reflexivity, uniform convexity, $B$-convexity and superreflexivity of $W^{1,Φ}$. In this paper, we introduce some new $I_λ$-lacunary statistically convergent sequence spaces of order $α$ defined by a Musielak-Orlicz function. We study some relations between $I_λ$-lacunary statistically convergence with lacunary $I_λ$-summable sequences.
