The sigma-model of closed strings spinning in the $η$-deformation of $AdS_{5} \times S^{5}$ leads to an integrable deformation of the one-dimensional Neumann-Rosochatius mechanical system. In this article we construct general solutions to this system that can be written in terms of elliptic functions. The solutions correspond to closed strings with non-constant radii rotating with two different angular momenta in an $η$-deformed three-sphere. We analyse the reduction of the elliptic solutions for some limiting values of the deformation parameter. For the case of solutions with constant radii we find the dependence of the classical energy of the string on the angular momenta as an expansion in the 't Hooft coupling.
An integrable deformation of the well-known Neumann-Rosochatius system is studied by considering generalised bosonic spinning solutions on the eta-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 background. For this integrable model we construct a 4x4 Lax representation and a set of integrals of motion that ensures its Liouville integrability. These integrals of motion correspond to the deformed analogues of the Neumann-Rosochatius integrals and generalise the previously found integrals for the eta-deformed Neumann and (AdS_5 x S^5)_eta geodesic systems. Finally, we briefly comment on consistent truncations of this mode…
Closed strings spinning in AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 with mixed R-R and NS-NS three-form fluxes are described by a deformation of the one-dimensional Neumann-Rosochatius integrable system. In this article we find general solutions to this system that can be expressed in terms of elliptic functions. We consider closed strings rotating either in S^3 with two different angular momenta or in AdS_3 with one spin. In order to find the solutions we will need to extend the Uhlenbeck integrals of motion of the Neumann-Rosochatius system to include the contribution from the flux. In the limit of pure NS-NS flux…
The sigma model describing closed strings rotating in AdS_3 x S^3 is known to reduce to the one-dimensional Neumann-Rosochatius integrable system. In this article we show that closed spinning strings in AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 in the presence of NS-NS three-form flux can be described by an extension of the Neumann-Rosochatius system. We consider closed strings rotating with one spin in AdS_3 and two different angular momenta in S^3. For a class of solutions with constant radii we find the dependence of the classical energy on the spin and the angular momenta as an expansion in the square of the 't H…
Neumann-Rosochatius system is a well known one dimensional integrable system. We study the rotating and pulsating string in $AdS_4 \times \mathbb{CP}^3$ with a $B_{\rm{NS}}$ holonomy turned on over $\mathbb{CP}^1 \subset \mathbb{CP}^3$, or the so called Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis (ABJ) background. We observe that the string equations of motion in both cases are integrable and the Lagrangians reduce to a form similar to that of deformed Neuman-Rosochatius system. We find out the scaling relations among various conserved charges and comment on the finite size effect for the dyonic giant magnons on…
Strings on $AdS_3 \times S^3\times S^3\times S^1$ with mixed flux exhibit exact integrability. We wish to construct an integrable Neumann-Rosochatius (NR) model of strings starting with the type IIB supergravity action in $AdS_3 \times S^3\times S^3\times S^1$ with pure NSNS flux. We observe that the forms of the Lagrangian and the Uhlenbeck integrals of motion of the considered system are NR-like with some suitable deformations which eventually appear due to the presence of flux. We utilize the integrable framework of the deformed NR model to analyze rigidly rotating spiky strings moving only…
A general class of rotating closed string solutions in AdS_5 x S^5 is shown to be described by a Neumann-Rosochatius one-dimensional integrable system. The latter represents an oscillator on a sphere or a hyperboloid with an additional ``centrifugal'' potential. We expect that the reduction of the AdS_5 x S^5 sigma model to the Neumann-Rosochatius system should have further generalizations and should be useful for uncovering new relations between integrable structures on the two sides of the AdS/CFT duality. We find, in particular, new circular rotating string solutions with two AdS_5 and thre…
$SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ invariant action for probe $(m,n)$ string in $AdS_3\times S^3\times T^4$ with mixed three-form fluxes can be described by an integrable deformation of an one-dimensional Neumann-Rosochatius (NR) system. We present the deformed features of the integrable model and study general class of rotating and pulsating solutions by solving the integrable equations of motion. For the rotating string, the explicit solutions can be expressed in terms of elliptic functions. We make use of the integrals of motion to find out the scaling relation among conserved charges for the particular ca…
In this paper, considering the correspondence between spin chains and string sigma models, we explore the rotating string solutions over $ η$ deformed $ AdS_5 \times S^{5} $ in the so called fast spinning limit. In our analysis, we focus only on the bosonic part of the full superstring action and compute the relevant limits on both $(R \times S^{3})_η $ and $(R \times S^{5})_η $ models. The resulting system reveals that in the fast spinning limit, the sigma model on $ η$ deformed $S^5$ could be $\textit{approximately}$ thought of as the continuum limit of anisotropic $ SU(3) $ Heisenberg spin …
We construct nonrelativistic spinning string solutions corresponding to $ SU(1,2|3) $ Spin-Matrix theory (SMT) limit of strings in $ AdS_5 \times S^5 $. Considering various nonrelativistic spinning string configurations both in $ AdS_5 $ as well as $ S^5 $ we obtain corresponding dispersion relations in the strong coupling regime of SMT where the strong coupling ($ \sim \sqrt{\mathfrak{g}} $) corrections near the BPS bound have been estimated in the slow spinning limit of strings in $ AdS_5 $. We generalize our results explicitly by constructing three spin folded string configurations that has…
We study classical spinning closed string configuration on logarithmically deformed AdS_5 x T^{1,1} background with non-trivial Neveu-Schwarz B-field in which IIB string theory is dual to a non-conformal N=1 SU(N+M) x SU(N) gauge theory. The integrability on original AdS_5 x T^{1,1} background are significantly reduced by B-field. We find several spinning string solutions with two different ansatzs. Solutions for point-like strings and few circular strings are explicitly obtained. Folded spinning string solutions along radial direction are shown to be allowed in this background. These solution…
A $q$-deformed free spinning relativistic particle is discussed in the framework of the Lagrangian formalism. Three equivalent Lagrangians are obtained for this system which are endowed with $q$-deformed local (super)gauge symmetries and reparametrization invariance. It is demonstrated that these symmetries are on-shell equivalent only for $ q = \pm1 $ under particular identification of the transformation parameters. The same condition ($ q=\pm1 $) emerges due to the requirement that the $q$-commutator of two supersymmetric gauge transformations should generate a reparametrization plus a super…
New models of the SU(2|1) supersymmetric mechanics based on gauging the systems with dynamical (1,4,3) and semi-dynamical (4,4,0) supermultiplets are presented. We propose a new version of SU(2|1) harmonic superspace approach which makes it possible to construct the Wess-Zumino term for interacting (4,4,0) multiplets. A new N=4 extension of d=1 Calogero-Moser multiparticle system is obtained by gauging the U(n) isometry of matrix SU(2|1) harmonic superfield model.
We analyze the fast-moving string in the magnetic Melvin field background and find that the associated effective Lagrangian of string sigma model describes the spin chain model with external magnetic field. The spin vector in the spin chain has been properly deformed and is living on the deformed two-sphere or deformed two-dimensional hyperboloid, depending on the direction around which the string is spinning. We describe in detail the characters of spin deformation and, in particular, see that this is a general property for a string moving in a class of deformed background.
We apply the transformation of mixing azimuthal and internal coordinate or mixing time and internal coordinate to the 11D M-theory with a stack of M2-branes $\bot$ M2-branes, then, through the mechanism of Kaluza-Klein reduction and a series of the T duality we obtain the corresponding background of a stack of D1-branes $\bot$ D5-branes which, in the near-horizon limit, becomes the magnetic or electric Melvin field deformed $AdS_3 \times S^3 \times T^4$. We find the giant graviton solution in the deformed spacetime and see that the configuration whose angular momentum is within a finite region…
We show that bosonic spinning strings on the η-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 background are naturally described as periodic solutions of a novel finite-dimensional integrable system which can be viewed as a deformation of the celebrated Neumann model. For this deformed model we find the Lax representation and the analogue of the Uhlenbeck integrals.
We study the finite size effect of rigidly rotating and spinning folded strings in $(AdS_3\times S^3)_{\varkappa}$ background. We calculate the leading order exponential corrections to the infinite size dispersion relation of the giant magnon, and single spike solutions. For the spinning folded strings we write the finite size effect in terms of the known Lambert $W$-function.
We study a GKP-like classical string solution on a q-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 background and argue the spacetime structure by using it as a probe. The solution cannot stretch beyond the singularity surface and this result may suggest that the holographic relation is realized inside the singularity surface. This observation leads us to introduce a new coordinate system which describes the spacetime only inside the singularity surface. With the new coordinate system, we study minimal surfaces and derive a deformed Neumann-Rosochatius system with a rigid string ansatz.
We consider the correspondence between the spinning string solutions in Lunin-Maldacena background and the single trace operators in the Leigh-Strassler deformation of N=4 SYM. By imposing an appropriate rotating string ansätz on the Landau-Lifshitz reduced sigma model in the deformed SU(2) sector, we find two types of `elliptic' solutions with two spins, which turn out to be the solutions associated with the Neumann-Rosochatius system. We then calculate the string energies as functions of spins, and obtain their explicit forms in terms of a set of moduli parameters. On the deformed spin-chain…
We consider the most general string configurations on the R_t x S^3 subspace of AdS_5 xS^5, described by the Neumann-Rosochatius integrable system. Under some restrictions on the parameters of the solution and in an appropriate limit, they correspond to small deviation from the known finite-size giant magnon solutions with one and two angular momenta. Analyzing the finite-size effect on the dispersion relation, we find that the leading correction is modified in a way similar to the gamma-deformed case R_t x S^3_gamma. The subleading correction for a string with one angular momentum is also fou…
We study a general class of spinning pulsating strings in $(AdS_5 \times S^5)_{\varkappa}$ background. For these family of solitons, we examine the scaling relation between the energy, spin or angular momentum. We verify that in $\varkappa \rightarrow 0 $ limit these relations reduce to the undeformed $AdS_5 \times S^5$ case. We further study an example of a string which is spinning in the $\varkappa$-deformed AdS$_5$ and S$^5$ simultaneously and find out the scaling relation among various conserved charges.
We derive a spin chain Hamiltonian from a fast spinning string in the marginally deformed AdS(3)X S(3). This corresponds to a closed trajectory swept out by the SU(2) or SL(2) spin vector on the surface of one-parameter deformed two-sphere or hyperboloid in the background of anisotropic magnetic field interaction. In the limit of small deformation, a class of general Landau-Lifshitz equation with a nontrivial anisotropic matrix can be derived.
In this paper, we consider two almost opposite sectors of actual string configuration ansätze in $AdS_5\times S^5$, which anyway have almost the same features: The two spin solution, which has constant angles in $S^5$ and the two angular momenta solution, which has constant "angels" in $AdS_5$, however for the two angular momenta solution, we have to take the time coordinate from $AdS_5$, thus there is a little asymmetry between the two string configurations in $AdS_5\times S^5$. Without being autistic, there is around $69$ equations between the similar equations in the two sectors, compare eq…
We obtain spinning and rotating closed string solutions in AdS_5 \times T^{1,1} background, and show how these solutions can be mapped onto rotating closed strings embedded in configurations of intersecting branes in type IIA string theory. Then, we discuss spinning closed string solutions in the UV limit of the Klebanov-Tseytlin background, and also properties of classical solutions in the related intersecting brane constructions in the UV limit. We comment on extensions of this analysis to the deformed conifold background, and in the corresponding intersecting brane construction, as well as …
In this thesis we present some computations made in both sides of the AdS/CFT holographic correspondence using the integrability of both theories. Regarding the string theory side, this thesis is focused in the computation of the dispersion relation of closed spinning strings in some deformed $AdS_3 \times S^3$ backgrounds. In particular we are going to focus in the deformation provided by the mixing of R-R and NS-NS fluxes and the so-called $η$-deformation. These computations are made using the classical integrability of these two deformed string theories, which is provided by the presence of…
Motivated by the recent proposal for the S-matrix in $AdS_3\times S^3$ with mixed three form fluxes, we study classical folded string spinning in $AdS_3$ with both Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz three form fluxes. We solve the equations of motion of these strings and obtain their dispersion relation to the leading order in the Neveu-Schwarz flux $b$. We show that dispersion relation for the spinning strings with large spin ${\cal S}$ acquires a term given by $-\frac{\sqrtλ}{2π} b^2\log^2 {\cal S}$ in addition to the usual $\frac{\sqrtλ}π \log {\cal S}$ term where $\sqrtλ$ is proportional to the squa…
Relativistic current carrying strings moving axisymmetrically on the background of a Kerr black hole are studied. The boundaries and possible types of motion of a string with a given energy and current are found. Regions of parameters for which the string falls into the black hole, or is trapped in a toroidal volume, or can escape to infinity, are identified, and representative trajectories are examined by numerical integration, illustrating various interesting behaviors. In particular, we find that a string can start out at rest near the equatorial plane and, after bouncing around, be ejected…
