We study the influence of particle size asymmetry on structural evolution of randomly jammed binary sphere mixtures with varying large-sphere/small-sphere composition. Simulations of jammed packings are used to assess the transition from large-sphere dominant to small-sphere dominant mixtures. For weakly asymmetric particle sizes, packing properties evolve smoothly, but not monotonically, with increasing small sphere composition, $f$. Our simulations reveal that at high values of ratio $α$ of large to small sphere radii, ($α\geq α_c \approx 5.75$) evolution of structural properties such as packing density, fraction of jammed spheres and contact statistics with $f$ exhibit features that suggest a sharp transition, either through discontinuities in structural measures or their derivatives. We argue that this behavior is related to the singular, composition dependence of close-packing fraction predicted in infinite aspect ratio mixtures $α\rightarrow\infty$ by the Furnas model, but occurring for finite values range of $α$ above a critical value, $α_c \approx 5.75$. The existence of a sharp transition from small- to large-$f$ values for $α\geq α_c$ can be attributed to the existence of a {\it sub-jamming transition} of small spheres in the interstices of jammed large spheres along the line of compositions $f_{sub}(α)$. We argue that the critical value of finite size asymmetry $α_c \simeq 5.75$ is consistent with the geometric criterion for the transmission of small sphere contacts between neighboring tetrahedrally close packed interstices of large spheres, facilitating a cooperative sub-jamming transition of small spheres confined within the disjoint volumes.
We study the effect of thermalization on the rigidity of a randomly packed soft repulsive sphere system around the jamming point by analyzing the shear-modulus using the cloned liquid theory with the 1 step replica symmetry breaking ansatz and molecular dynamics simulations. Contrarily to the usual harmonic picture for solids, we found that the thermalized jamming system is anomalously softer than at zero temperature such that the shear-modulus becomes as small as the pressure down to vanishingly low temperatures.
The concept of jamming has attracted great research interest due to its broad relevance in soft matter such as liquids, glasses, colloids, foams, and granular materials, and its deep connection to the sphere packing problem and optimization problems. Here we show that the domain of amorphous jammed states of frictionless spheres can be significantly extended, from the well-known jamming-point at a fixed density, to a jamming-plane that spans the density and shear strain axes. We explore the jamming-plane, via athermal and thermal simulations of compression and shear jamming, with a help of an …
We numerically study the relaxation dynamics and associated criticality of non-Brownian frictionless spheres below jamming in spatial dimensions $d=2$, $3$, $4$, and $8$, and in the mean-field Mari-Kurchan model. We discover non-trivial finite-size and volume fraction dependences of the relaxation time associated to the relaxation of unjammed packings. In particular, the relaxation time is shown to diverge logarithmically with system size at any density below jamming, and no critical exponent can characterise its behaviour approaching jamming. In mean-field, the relaxation time is instead well…
The jamming transition of particles with finite-range interactions is characterized by a variety of critical phenomena, including power law distributions of marginal contacts. We numerically study a recently proposed simple model of jamming, which is conjectured to lie in the same universality class as the jamming of spheres in all dimensions. We extract numerical estimates of the critical exponents, θ = 0.451 $\pm$ 0.006 and γ = 0.404 $\pm$ 0.004, that match the exponents observed in sphere packing systems. We analyze finite-size scaling effects that manifest in a subcritical cutoff regime an…
We show that non-Brownian suspensions of repulsive spheres below jamming display a slow relaxational dynamics with a characteristic time scale that diverges at jamming. This slow time scale is fully encoded in the structure of the unjammed packing and can be readily measured via the vibrational density of states. We show that the corresponding dynamic critical exponent is the same for randomly generated and sheared packings. Our results show that a wide variety of physical situations, from suspension rheology to algorithmic studies of the jamming transition are controlled by a unique diverging…
We study numerically a system of athermal, overdamped, frictionless spheres, as in a non-Brownian suspension, in two and three dimensions. Compressing the system isotropically at a fixed rate $\dotε$, we investigate the critical behavior at the jamming transition. The finite compression rate introduces a control timescale, which allows one to probe the critical timescale associated with jamming. As was found previously for steady-state shear-driven jamming, we find for compression-driven jamming that pressure obeys a critical scaling relation as a function of packing fraction $ϕ$ and compressi…
We implement and optimize a particle-swap Monte-Carlo algorithm that allows us to thermalize a polydisperse system of hard spheres up to unprecedentedly-large volume fractions, where \revise{previous} algorithms and experiments fail to equilibrate. We show that no glass singularity intervenes before the jamming density, which we independently determine through two distinct non-equilibrium protocols. We demonstrate that equilibrium fluid and non-equilibrium jammed states can have the same density, showing that the jamming transition cannot be the end-point of the fluid branch.
We study numerically the critical behavior and marginal stability of the shear jamming transition for frictionless soft spheres, observed to occur over a finite range of densities, associated with isotropic jamming for densities above the minimum jamming (J-point) density. Several quantities are shown to scale near the shear jamming point in the same way as the isotropic jamming point. We compute the exponents associated with the small force distribution and the interparticle gap distribution, and show that the corresponding exponents are consistent with the marginal stability condition observe…
We perform a systematic numerical study of the effects of the particle-size ratio $R \ge 1$ on the properties of jammed binary mixtures. We find that changing $R$ does not qualitatively affect the critical scaling of the pressure and coordination number with the compression near the jamming transition, but the critical volume fraction at the jamming transition varies with $R$. Moreover, the static structure factor (density correlation) $S(k)$ strongly depends on $R$ and shows distinct long wave-length behaviors between large and small particles. Thus the previously reported behavior of $S(k)\s…
We study jamming in granular mixtures from the novel point of view of extended hydrodynamics. Using a hard sphere binary mixture model we predict that a few large grains are expected to get caged more effectively in a matrix of small grains compared to a few small grains in a matrix of larger ones. A similar effect has been experimentally seen in the context of colloidal mixtures.
The unconventional thermal properties of jammed amorphous solids are directly related to their density of vibrational states. While the vibrational spectrum of jammed soft sphere solids has been fully described, the vibrational spectrum of hard spheres, a model for colloidal glasses, is still unknown due to the difficulty of treating the non-analytic interaction potential. We bypass this difficulty using the recently described effective interaction potential for the free energy of thermal hard spheres. By minimizing this effective free energy we mimic a quench and produce typical configuration…
We investigate the dynamics of soft sphere liquids through computer simulations for spatial dimensions from $d =3$ to $8$, over a wide range of temperatures and densities. Employing a scaling of density-temperature dependent relaxation times, we precisely identify the density $ϕ_0$ which marks the ideal glass transition in the hard sphere limit, and a crossover from sub- to super-Arrhenius temperature dependence. The difference between $ϕ_0$ and the athermal jamming density $ϕ_J$, small in 3 and 4 dimensions, increases with dimension, with $ϕ_0 > ϕ_J$ for $d > 4$. We compare our results with r…
We have discovered a new family of three-dimensional crystal sphere packings that are strictly jammed (i.e., mechanically stable) and yet possess an anomalously low density. This family constitutes an uncountably infinite number of crystal packings that are subpackings of the densest crystal packings and are characterized by a high concentration of self-avoiding "tunnels" (chains of vacancies) that permeate the structures. The fundamental geometric characteristics of these tunneled crystals command interest in their own right and are described here in some detail. These include the lattice vec…
In very recent work the mean field theory of the jamming transition in infinite dimensional hard spheres models was presented. Surprisingly, this theory predicts quantitatively numerically determined characteristics of jamming in two and three dimensions. This is a rare and unusual finding. Here we argue that this agreement in non-generic: only for hard sphere models it happens that sufficiently close to jamming the effective interactions are in agreement with mean-field theory, justifying the truncation of many body interactions (which is the exact protocol in infinite dimensions). Any soften…
Amorphous solids, such as glasses, have complex responses to deformations, with significant consequences in material design and applications. In this respect two intertwined aspects are important: stability and reversibility. It is crucial to understand on the one hand how a glass may become unstable due to increased plasticity under shear deformations; on the other hand, to what extent the response is reversible, meaning how much a system is able to recover the original configuration once the perturbation is released. Here we focus on assemblies of hard spheres as the simplest model of amorph…
While frictionless spheres at jamming are isostatic, frictional spheres at jamming are not. As a result, frictional spheres near jamming do not necessarily exhibit an excess of soft modes. However, a generalized form of isostaticity can be introduced if fully mobilized contacts at the Coulomb friction threshold are considered as slipping contacts. We show here that, in this framework, the vibrational density of states (DOS) of frictional discs exhibits a plateau when the generalized isostaticity line is approached. The crossover frequency to elastic behavior scales linearly with the distance f…
We present a new formulation of the jamming phase diagram for a class of glass-forming fluids consisting of spheres interacting via finite-ranged repulsions at temperature $T$, packing fraction $ϕ$ or pressure $p$, and applied shear stress $Σ$. We argue that the natural choice of axes for the phase diagram are the dimensionless quantities $T/pσ^3$, $pσ^3/ε$, and $Σ/p$, where $T$ is the temperature, $p$ is the pressure, $Σ$ is the stress, $σ$ is the sphere diameter, $ε$ is the interaction energy scale, and $m$ is the sphere mass. We demonstrate that the phase diagram is universal at low $pσ^3/ε…
We systematically map out the jamming transition of all 2D bidisperse mixtures of frictionless disks in the hard particle limit. The critical volume fraction, mean coordination number, number of rattlers, structural order parameters, and bulk modulus each show a rich variation with mixture composition and particle size ratio, and can therefore be tuned by choosing certain mixtures. We identify two local minima in the critical volume fraction, both of which have low structural order; one minimum is close to the widely studied 50:50 mixture of particles with a ratio of radii of 1:1.4. We also id…
The formation of self-organised structures that resist shear deformation have been discussed in the context of shear jamming and thickening[1-3], with frictional forces playing a key role. However, shear induces geometric features necessary for jamming even in frictionless packings[4]. We analyse conditions for jamming in such assemblies by solving force and torque balance conditions for their contact geometry. We demonstrate, and validate with frictional simulations, that the isostatic condition for mean contact number Z = D + 1 (for spatial dimension D = 2, 3) holds at jamming for both finit…
The role of friction coefficient, $μ$, on the jamming properties of disordered, particle packings is studied using computer simulations. Compressed, soft-sphere packings are brought towards the jamming transition - the point where a packing loses mechanical stability - by decreasing the packing fraction. The values of the packing fraction at the jamming transition, $ϕ^μ_{c}$, gradually decrease from the random close packing point for zero friction, to a value coincident with random loose packing as the friction coefficient is increased over several orders of magnitude. This is accompanied by a…
We determine the form of the complex shear modulus $G^*$ in soft sphere packings near jamming. Viscoelastic response at finite frequency is closely tied to a packing's intrinsic relaxational modes, which are distinct from the vibrational modes of undamped packings. We demonstrate and explain the appearance of an anomalous excess of slowly relaxing modes near jamming, reflected in a diverging relaxational density of states. From the density of states, we derive the dependence of $G^*$ on frequency and distance to the jamming transition, which is confirmed by numerics.
Amorphous systems of soft particles above jamming have more contacts than are needed to achieve mechanical equilibrium. The force network of a granular system with a fixed contact network is thus underdetermined, and can be characterized as a random instantiation within the space of the force network ensemble. In this work, we show that by examining the boundaries of this space of allowed force networks, defect contacts which are not necessary for stability of the system can be uniquely identified. We further show that in the near jamming limit, this identification is nearly always correct and…
We numerically study a three dimensional system of athermal, overdamped, frictionless spheres, using a simplified model for a non-Brownian suspension. We compute the bulk viscosity under both uniaxial and isotropic compression as a means to address the question of whether stress-anisotropic and stress-isotropic jamming are in the same critical universality class. Carrying out a critical scaling analysis of the system pressure $p$, shear stress $σ$, and macroscopic friction $μ=σ/p$, as functions of particle packing fraction $ϕ$ and compression rate $\dotε$, we find good agreement for all critic…
We study the competitive irreversible adsorption of a binary mixture of monomers and square-shaped particles of linear size $R$ on the square lattice. With the random sequential adsorption model, we investigate how the jamming coverage and percolation properties depend on the size ratio $R$ and relative flux $F$. We find that the onset of percolation of monomers is always lower for the binary mixture than in the case with only monomers ($R=1$). Moreover, for values $F$ below a critical value, the higher is the flux or size of the largest species, the lower is the value of the percolation thres…
We investigate the response of dense hard sphere glasses to a shear strain, in a wide range of pressures ranging from the glass transition to the infinite-pressure jamming point. The phase diagram in the density-shear strain plane is calculated analytically using the mean field infinite dimensional solution. We find that just above the glass transition, the glass generically yields at a finite shear strain. The yielding transition, in the mean field picture, is a spinodal point in presence of disorder. At higher densities, instead, we find that the glass generically jams at a finite shear stra…
By generalizing a geometric argument for frictionless spheres, a model is proposed for the jamming density $ϕ_J$ of mechanically stable packings of bidisperse, frictional spheres. The monodisperse, $μ_s$-dependent jamming density $ϕ_J^{\mathrm{mono}}(μ_s)$ is the only input required in the model, where $μ_s$ is the coefficient of friction. The predictions of the model are validated by robust estimates of $ϕ_J$ obtained from computer simulations of up to $10^7$ particles for a wide range of $μ_s$, and size ratios up to 40:1. Although $ϕ_J$ varies nonmonotonically with the volume fraction of sma…
Random sequential adsorption of binary mixtures of extended objects on a two-dimensional triangular lattice is studied numerically by means of Monte Carlo simulations. The depositing objects are formed by self-avoiding random walks on the lattice. We concentrate here on the influence of the symmetry properties of the shapes on the kinetics of the deposition processes in two-component mixtures. Approach to the jamming limit in the case of mixtures is found to be exponential, of the form: $θ(t) \sim θ_{jam}-Δθ\exp (-t/σ),$ and the values of the parameter $σ$ are determined by the order of symmet…
Hard spheres are ubiquitous in condensed matter: they have been used as models for liquids, crystals, colloidal systems, granular systems, and powders. Packings of hard spheres are of even wider interest, as they are related to important problems in information theory, such as digitalization of signals, error correcting codes, and optimization problems. In three dimensions the densest packing of identical hard spheres has been proven to be the FCC lattice, and it is conjectured that the closest packing is ordered (a regular lattice, e.g, a crystal) in low enough dimension. Still, amorphous pac…
We present the study of the landscape structure of athermal soft spheres both as a function of the packing fraction and of the energy. We find that, on approaching the jamming transition, the number of different configurations available to the system has a steep increase and that a hierarchical organization of the landscape emerges. We use the knowledge of the structure of the landscape to predict the values of thermodynamic observables on the edge of the transition.
Studying the jamming transition of granular and colloidal systems, has lead to a proliferation of theoretical and numerical results formulated in the language of the eigenspectrum of the dynamical matrix for these disordered system. Only recently however, these modes have been accessed experimentally in colloidal and granular media, computing the eigenmodes of the covariance matrix of the particle positions. At the same time new conceptual and methodological questions have appeared, regarding the interpretation of these results. In the present paper, we first give an overview of the theoretica…
Athermal packings of soft repulsive spheres exhibit a sharp jamming transition in the thermodynamic limit. Upon further compression, various structural and mechanical properties display clean power-law behavior over many decades in pressure. As with any phase transition, the rounding of such behavior in finite systems close to the transition plays an important role in understanding the nature of the transition itself. The situation for jamming is surprisingly rich: the assumption that jammed packings are isotropic is only strictly true in the large-size limit, and finite-size has a profound ef…
While the glass transition at non-zero temperature seems to be hard to access for experimental, theoretical, or simulation studies, jamming at zero temperature has been explored in great detail. It is a widely discussed question whether this athermal jamming transition is related to the glass transition. Motivated by the exploration of the energy landscape that has been successfully used to describe athermal jamming, we introduce a new method to determine whether the configuration space of a soft sphere system can be explored within a reasonable timescale or not, i.e., whether the system is er…
A recent proposal in which the equation of state of a polydisperse hard-sphere mixture is mapped onto that of the one-component fluid is extrapolated beyond the freezing point to estimate the jamming packing fraction $ϕ_\text{J}$ of the polydisperse system as a simple function of $M_1M_3/M_2^2$, where $M_k$ is the $k$th moment of the size distribution. An analysis of experimental and simulation data of $ϕ_\text{J}$ for a large number of different mixtures shows a remarkable general agreement with the theoretical estimate. To give extra support to the procedure, simulation data for seventeen mi…
Self-organization, and transitions from reversible to irreversible behaviour, of interacting particle assemblies driven by externally imposed stresses or deformation is of interest in comprehending diverse phenomena in soft matter. They have been investigated in a wide range of systems, such as colloidal suspensions, glasses, and granular matter. In different density and driving regimes, such behaviour is related to yielding of amorphous solids, jamming, and memory formation, \emph{etc.} How these phenomena are related to each other has not, however, been much studied. In order to obtain a uni…
We probe the Ioffe-Regel limits of glasses with repulsions near the zero-temperature jamming transition by measuring the dynamical structure factors. At zero temperature, the transverse Ioffe-Regel frequency vanishes at the jamming transition with a diverging length, but the longitudinal one does not, which excludes the existence of a diverging length associated with the longitudinal excitations. At low temperatures, the transverse and longitudinal Ioffe-Regel frequencies approach zero at the jamming-like transition and glass transition, respectively. As a consequence, glasses between the glas…
Photon correlation spectroscopy and rheological measurements are performed to investigate the microscopic dynamics and mechanical responses of aqueous solutions of triblock copolymers and aqueous mixtures of triblock copolymers and anionic surfactants. Increasing the concentration of triblock copolymers results in a sharp increase in the magnitude of the complex moduli characterising the samples. This is understood in terms of the changes in the aggregation and packing behaviours of the copolymers and the constraints imposed upon their dynamics due to increased close packing. The addition of s…
Amorphous packings of spheres have been intensely investigated in order to understand the mechanical and flow behaviour of dense granular matter, and to explore universal aspects of the transition from fluid to structurally arrested or jammed states. Considerable attention has recently been focussed on anisotropic packings of frictional grains generated by shear deformation leading to shear jamming, which occurs below the jamming density for isotropic packings of frictionless grains. With the aim of disentangling the role of shear deformation induced structures and friction in generating shear…
We present a theoretical prediction on random close packing factor ϕ_RCP^b of binary granular packings based on the hard-sphere fluid theory. An unexplored regime is unravelled, where the packing fraction ϕ_RCP^b is smaller than that of the mono-sized one ϕ_RCP^m, i.e., the so-called loose jamming state. This is against our common perception that binary packings should always reach a denser packing than mono-sized packings at the jamming state. Numerical evidence further supports this prediction and confirms the regime location in the size ratio and mole fraction (R_r-X_s) space, where the siz…
Recent theoretical advances have led to the creation of a unified phase diagram for the thermal glass and athermal jamming transitions. This diagram makes clear that, while related, the mode-coupling---or dynamic---glass transition is distinct from the jamming transition, occurring at a finite temperature and significantly lower density than the jamming transition. Nonetheless, we demonstrate a pre-jamming transition in athermal frictionless spheres which occurs at the same density as the mode-coupling transition and is marked by percolating clusters of locally rigid particles. At this density…
Recent studies show that volume fractions $\phiJ$ at the jamming transition of frictionless hard spheres and discs are not uniquely determined but exist over a continuous range. Motivated by this observation, we numerically investigate dependence of $\phiJ$ on the initial configurations of the parent fluids equilibrated at a fraction $\phiini$, before compressing to generate a jammed packing. We find that $\phiJ$ remains constant when $\phiini$ is small but sharply increases when $\phiini$ exceeds the dynamic transition point which the mode-coupling theory predicts. We carefully analyze config…
Mechanically stable sphere packings are generated in three-dimensional space using the discrete element method, which span a wide range in structural order, ranging from fully amorphous to quasi-ordered structures, as characterized by the bond orientational order parameter. As the packing pressure, $p$, varies from the marginally rigid limit at the jamming transition ($p \approx 0$) to that of more robust systems ($p \gg 0$), the coordination number, $z$, follows a familiar scaling relation with pressure, namely, $Δz = z - z_c \sim p^{1/2}$, where $z_c = 2d = 6$ ($d=3$ is the spatial dimension…
The problem of finding the most efficient way to pack spheres has an illustrious history, dating back to the crystalline arrays conjectured by Kepler and the random geometries explored by Bernal in the 60's. This problem finds applications spanning from the mathematician's pencil, the processing of granular materials, the jamming and glass transitions, all the way to fruit packing in every grocery. There are presently numerous experiments showing that the loosest way to pack spheres gives a density of ~55% (RLP) while filling all the loose voids results in a maximum density of ~63-64% (RCP). W…
We study properties of jammed packings of frictionless spheres over a wide range of volume fractions. There exists a crossover volume fraction which separates deeply jammed solids from marginally jammed solids. In deeply jammed solids, all the scalings presented in marginally jammed solids are replaced with remarkably different ones with potential independent exponents. Correspondingly, there are structural changes in the pair distribution function associated with the crossover. The normal modes of vibration of deeply jammed solids also exhibit some anomalies, e.g. strengthened quasi-localizat…
We examine the jamming transition in a two-dimensional granular polymer system using compressional simulations. The jamming density ϕ_c decreases with increasing length of the granular chain due to the formation of loop structures, in excellent agreement with recent experiments. The jamming density can be further reduced in mixtures of granular chains and granular rings, also as observed in experiment. We show that the nature of the jamming in granular polymer systems has pronounced differences from the jamming behavior observed for polydisperse two-dimensional disk systems at Point J. This re…
We numerically study the jamming transition of frictionless polydisperse spheres in three dimensions. We use an efficient thermalisation algorithm for the equilibrium hard sphere fluid and generate amorphous jammed packings over a range of critical jamming densities that is about three times broader than in previous studies. This allows us to reexamine a wide range of structural properties characterizing the jamming transition. Both isostaticity and the critical behavior of the pair correlation function hold over the entire range of jamming densities. At intermediate length scales, we find a w…
The shear rheology of soft particles systems becomes complex at large density because crowding effects may induce a glass transition for Brownian particles, or a jamming transition for non-Brownian systems. Here we successfully explore the hypothesis that the shear stress contributions from glass and jamming physics are `additive'. We show that the experimental flow curves measured in a large variety of soft materials (colloidal hard spheres, microgel suspensions, emulsions, aqueous foams) as well as numerical flow curves obtained for soft repulsive particles in both thermal and athermal limit…
Liquids equilibrated below an onset density share similar inherent states, while above that density their inherent states markedly differ. Although this phenomenon was first reported in simulations over 20 years ago, the physical origin of this memory remains controversial. Its absence from mean-field descriptions, in particular, has long cast doubt on its thermodynamic relevance. Motivated by a recent theoretical proposal, we reassess the onset phenomenology in simulations using a fast hard sphere jamming algorithm and find it both thermodynamically and dimensionally robust. Remarkably, we al…
The discontinuous jump in the bulk modulus $B$ at the jamming transition is a consequence of the formation of a critical contact network of spheres that resists compression. We introduce lattice models with underlying under-coordinated compression resistant spring lattices to which next-nearest-neighbor springs can be added. In these models, the jamming transition emerges as a kind of multicritical point terminating a line of rigidity-percolation transitions. Replacing the under-coordinated lattices with the critical network at jamming yields a faithful description of jamming and its relation …
We introduce a new model of hard spheres under confinement for the study of the glass and jamming transitions. The model is an one-dimensional chain of the $d$-dimensional boxes each of which contains the same number of hard spheres, and the particles in the boxes of the ends of the chain are quenched at their equilibrium positions. We focus on the infinite dimensional limit ($d \to \infty$) of the model and analytically compute the glass transition densities using the replica liquid theory. From the chain length dependence of the transition densities, we extract the characteristic length scal…
We probe flows of soft, viscous spheres near the jamming point, which acts as a critical point for static soft spheres. Starting from energy considerations, we find nontrivial scaling of velocity fluctuations with strain rate. Combining this scaling with insights from jamming, we arrive at an analytical model that predicts four distinct regimes of flow, each characterized by rational-valued scaling exponents. Both the number of regimes and values of the exponents depart from prior results. We validate predictions of the model with simulations.
We discuss the linear and non-linear rheology of concentrated (sub)microscale emulsions, amorphous disordered solids composed of repulsive and deformable soft colloidal spheres. Based on recent results from simulation and theory, we derive quantitative predictions for the dependences of the elastic shear modulus and the yield stress on the droplet volume fraction. The remarkable agreement with experiments we observe supports the scenario that the repulsive glass and the jammed state can be clearly identified in the rheology of soft spheres at finite temperature while crossing continuously from…
We investigate the glass and the jamming transitions of hard spheres in finite dimensions $d$, through a revised cell theory, that combines the free volume and the Random First Order Theory (RFOT). Recent results show that in infinite dimension the ideal glass transition and jamming transitions are distinct, while based on our theory we argue that they indeed coincide for finite $d$. As a consequence, jamming results into a percolation transition described by RFOT, with a static length diverging with exponent $ν=2/d$, which we verify through finite size scaling, and standard critical exponents…
