Factorization theorems underly our ability to make predictions for many processes involving the strong interaction. Although typically formulated at leading power, the study of factorization at subleading power is of interest both for improving the precision of calculations, as well as for understanding the all orders structure of QCD. We use the SCET helicity operator formalism to construct a complete power suppressed basis of hard scattering operators for $e^+e^-\to$ dijets, $e^- p\to e^-$ jet, and constrained Drell-Yan, including the first two subleading orders in the amplitude level power expansion. We analyze the form of the hard, jet, and soft function contributions to the power suppressed cross section for $e^+e^-\to$ dijet event shapes, and give results for the lowest order matching to the contributing operators. These results will be useful for studies of power corrections both in fixed order and resummed perturbation theory.
On-shell helicity methods provide powerful tools for determining scattering amplitudes, which have a one-to-one correspondence with leading power helicity operators in the Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) away from singular regions of phase space. We show that helicity based operators are also useful for enumerating power suppressed SCET operators, which encode subleading amplitude information about singular limits. In particular, we present a complete set of scalar helicity building blocks that are valid for constructing operators at any order in the SCET power expansion. We also descri…
We report the current understanding of heavy quarkonium production at high transverse momentum ($p_T$) in hadronic collisions in terms of QCD factorization. In this presentation, we highlight the role of subleading power corrections to heavy quarkonium production, which are essential to describe the $p_T$ spectrum of quarkonium at a relatively lower $p_T$. We also introduce prescription to match QCD factorization to fixed-order NRQCD factorization calculations for quarkonium production at low $p_T$.
The factorization of multi-leg gauge theory amplitudes in the soft and collinear limits provides strong constraints on the structure of amplitudes, and enables efficient calculations of multi-jet observables at the LHC. There is significant interest in extending this understanding to include subleading powers in the soft and collinear limits. While this has been achieved for low point amplitudes, for higher point functions there is a proliferation of variables and more complicated phase space, making the analysis more challenging. By combining the subleading power expansion of spinor-helicity …
The study of amplitudes and cross sections in the soft and collinear limits allows for an understanding of their all orders behavior, and the identification of universal structures. At leading power soft emissions are eikonal, and described by Wilson lines. Beyond leading power the eikonal approximation breaks down, soft fermions must be added, and soft radiation resolves the nature of the energetic partons from which they were emitted. For both subleading power soft gluon and quark emissions, we use the soft collinear effective theory (SCET) to derive an all orders gauge invariant bare factor…
We analyze the current matrix elements in the general collinear (Breit) frames and find the relation between the ordinary (or canonical) helicity amplitudes and the light-front helicity amplitudes. Using the conservation of angular momentum, we derive a general angular condition which should be satisfied by the light-front helicity amplitudes for any spin system. In addition, we obtain the light-front parity and time-reversal relations for the light-front helicity amplitudes. Applying these relations to the spin-1 form factor analysis, we note that the general angular condition relating the fi…
We consider the azimuthal distribution of the final observed hadron in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering and the lepton pair in the Drell-Yan process. In particular, we focus on the $\cos ϕ$ modulation of the unpolarized cross section and on its dependence upon transverse momentum. At low transverse momentum, for these observables we propose a factorized expression based on tree-level approach and conjecture that the same formula is valid in transverse-momentum dependent (TMD) factorization when written in terms of subtracted TMD parton distributions. Our formula correctly matches with …
The Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is a powerful framework for studying factorization of amplitudes and cross sections in QCD. While factorization at leading power has been well studied, much less is known at subleading powers in the $λ\ll 1$ expansion. In SCET subleading soft and collinear corrections to a hard scattering process are described by power suppressed operators, which must be fixed case by case, and by well established power suppressed Lagrangians, which correct the leading power dynamics of soft and collinear radiation. Here we present a complete basis of power suppressed…
We analyze the factorization to subleading power in the flavor changing neutral current process $\bar B\to X_s \ell^+ \ell^-$. In particular, we compute the so-called resolved contributions and explore the numerical impact on observables. In these contributions the virtual photon couples to light partons instead of connecting directly to the effective weak-interaction vertex. They represent an irreducible uncertainty in the inclusive $\bar B \to X_s \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay which cannot be removed by relaxing the experimentally necessary cuts in the hadronic mass spectrum.
Starting from the first renormalized factorization theorem for a process described at subleading power in soft-collinear effective theory, we discuss the resummation of Sudakov logarithms for such processes in renormalization-group improved perturbation theory. Endpoint divergences in convolution integrals, which arise generically beyond leading power, are regularized and removed by systematically rearranging the factorization formula. We study in detail the example of the $b$-quark induced $h\toγγ$ decay of the Higgs boson, for which we resum large logarithms of the ratio $M_h/m_b$ at next-to…
Factorization theorems play a crucial role in our understanding of the strong interaction. For collider processes they are typically formulated at leading power and much less is known about power corrections in the $λ\ll 1$ expansion. Here we present a complete basis of power suppressed operators for a scalar quark current at $\mathcal{O}(λ^2)$ in the amplitude level power expansion in the Soft Collinear Effective Theory, demonstrating that helicity selection rules significantly simplify the construction. This basis applies for the production of any color singlet scalar in $q\bar{q}$ annihilat…
Basing on the Slavnov-Taylor identities, we derive a new prescription to obtain gauge invariant tree-level scattering amplitudes for the process g*g->Ng within high energy factorization. Using the helicity method, we check the formalism up to several final state gluons, and we present analytical formulas for the the helicity amplitudes for N=2. We also compare the method with Lipatov's effective action approach.
It is by now well known that, at subleading power in scale ratios, factorization theorems for high-energy cross sections and decay amplitudes contain endpoint-divergent convolution integrals. The presence of these divergences hints at a violation of simple scale separation, as a result of the so-called collinear anomaly. At the technical level, endpoint divergences indicate an unexpected failure of dimensional regularization and the $\bar{\rm MS}$ subtraction scheme. In this paper we start a comprehensive discussion of factorization at subleading power within the framework of soft-collinear ef…
I discuss the two-particle subleading power corrections in radiative leptonic $B \to γ\ell ν$ decay at next-to-leading order in $α_s$ with the dispersion approach. Employing the method of regions, factorization of the $B \to γ^{\ast}$ form factors is demonstrated explicitly, at one loop, for a space-like hard-collinear photon. The two-particle soft (end-point) contribution is shown to be suppressed by one power of $Λ/m_b$, in the heavy quark limit, compared with the leading power contribution computed from QCD factorization. I further report the recent calculation on the three-particle sublead…
Building on the recent derivation of a bare factorization theorem for the $b$-quark induced contribution to the $h\toγγ$ decay amplitude based on soft-collinear effective theory, we derive the first renormalized factorization theorem for a process described at subleading power in scale ratios, where $λ=m_b/M_h\ll 1$ in our case. We prove two refactorization conditions for a matching coefficient and an operator matrix element in the endpoint region, where they exhibit singularities giving rise to divergent convolution integrals. The refactorization conditions ensure that the dependence of the d…
Toward the goal of extracting the weak angle alpha, the decay B^0/B^0-bar to a_0^{+/-}pi^{-/+} was recently measured. The decay B^0 to a_0^+pi^- is not only forbidden in the factorization limit of the tree interaction, but also strongly suppressed for the penguin interaction if short-distance QCD dominates. This makes extraction of alpha very difficult from a^{+/-}π^{-/+}. We examine the simlar factorization-suppressed decays, in particular, B^0\to b_1^+pi^-. The prospect of obtaining alpha is even less promising with b_1^{+/-}pi^{-/+}. To probe how well the short-distance dominance works, we …
We use the spinor helicity formalism to calculate the cross section for production of three partons of a given polarization in Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) off proton and nucleus targets at small Bjorken x. The target proton or nucleus is treated as a classical color field (shock wave) from which the produced partons scatter multiple times. We reported our result for the final expression for the production cross section and studied the azimuthal angular correlations of the produced partons in [1]. Here we provide the full details of the calculation of the production cross section using the …
A persistent and fascinating problem at the high energy colliders are jets. Often trying to observe physics underlying the hard interactions at colliders requires experimental cuts in phase space, defining several jet or beam regions. QCD being a gauge theory that readily decays into infra-red modes, correlations between jet regions is almost inevitable, spoiling the predictivity of fixed order QCD calculations. One is faced with the task of calculating the evolution of a reduced density matrix, where successively less energetic (jet) regions are integrated out, to gain control of the calculat…
Using methods from soft-collinear and heavy-quark effective theory, a systematic factorization analysis is performed for the $\bar B\to X_sγ$ photon spectrum in the endpoint region $m_b-2E_γ={\cal O}(Λ_{\rm QCD})$. It is proposed that, to all orders in $1/m_b$, the spectrum obeys a novel factorization formula, which besides terms with the structure $H\,J\otimes S$ familiar from inclusive $\bar B\to X_u l\,\barν$ decay distributions contains "resolved photon" contributions of the form $H\,J\otimes S\otimes\bar J$ and $H\,J\otimes S\otimes\bar J\otimes\bar J$. Here $S$ and $\bar J$ are new soft …
The two body charmless decays of $B_s$ meson to light vector mesons are analyzed within the framework of QCD factorization. This approach implies that the nonfactorizable corrections to different helicity amplitudes are not the same. The effective parameters $a_i^h$ for helicity $h=0,+,-$ states receive different nonfactorizable contributions and hence are helicity dependent, contrary to naive factorization approach where $a_i^h$ are universal and polarization independent. The branching ratios for $\bar{B}_s\to VV$ decays are calculated and we find that branching ratios of some channels are of…
We study soft theorems at one loop in planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory through finite order in the infrared regulator and to subleading order in the soft parameter δ. In particular, we derive a universal constraint from dual superconformal symmetry, which we use to bootstrap subleading log δ behaviour. Moreover, we determine the complete infrared-finite subleading soft contribution of n-point MHV amplitudes using momentum twistors. Finally, we compute the subleading log δ behaviour of one-loop NMHV ratio functions at six and seven points, finding that universality holds within but not betwee…
In the Catani-Ciafaloni-Hautmann high-energy factorization approach a cross section is expressed as a convolution of unintegrated gluon densities and a gauge-invariant hard process, in which two incoming gluons are off-shell with momenta satisfying certain high-energy kinematics. We present two methods of evaluating the tree-level hard process with multiple final states. The first one assumes that only one of the gluons is off-shell and relies on the Slavnov-Taylor identities. Such asymmetric configuration of incoming gluons is phenomenologically important in small x probing by forward process…
We considered the power corrections to the amplitude describing hard exclusive pion pair production in gamma gamma collisions at large energy and momentum transfer. In order to derive a factorization formula for the subleading power corrections one has to take into account the so-called soft-overlap (or soft) contributions. These terms can be naturally introduced within the SCET framework as a matrix elements of the SCET-I operators. The so-called end-point singularities must cancel in the sum of the hard and soft contributions after matching onto SCET-II. Using the so-called physical subtract…
It is commonly believed that a careful investigation of the subleading terms is crucial for a better understanding of the $QCD$ factorization in charmless B decays. In this work the penguin-dominated $B\to Kπ$ decays are discussed systematically, including the subleading corrections in $1/m_b$ due to soft and hard gluons, besides the annihilation contributions. Soft-gluon effects for all the relevant 4-quark effective operators are calculated within the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR). Our observation is that such soft and hard corrections are less important than the annihilat…
We reconsider QCD factorization for the leading power contribution to the $γ^{\ast} γ\to π^0$ form factor $F_{γ^{\ast} γ\to π^0} (Q^2)$ at one loop using the evanescent operator approach, and demonstrate the equivalence of the resulting factorization formulae derived with distinct prescriptions of $γ_5$ in dimensional regularization. Applying the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSRs) with photon distribution amplitudes (DAs) we further compute the subleading power contribution to the pion-photon form factor induced by the "hadronic" component of the real photon at the next-to-leading-order in ${\ca…
We derive and solve the renormalisation-group (RG) equation of the shape function $g_{17}(ω,ω_1;μ)$, which appears at subleading power in the factorization of the inclusive decays $\bar{B} \to X_s γ$ and $\bar B \to X_s \ell^+\ell^-$. Our results provide the first ingredient for a next-to-leading order analysis of the respective resolved-photon ${Q}^{c}_{1} - {Q}_{7γ}$ interference contribution, whose current uncertainties are among the largest ones in both inclusive penguin modes. As a by-product of our study, we find that the analytic properties of the soft anomalous dimension as well as the…
Based on the light-cone (LC) framework and the $k_T$ factorization formalism, the transverse momentum effects and the different helicity components' contributions to the pion form factor $F_π(Q^2)$ are recalculated. In particular, the contribution to the pion form factor from the higher helicity components ($λ_1+λ_2=\pm 1$), which come from the spin-space Wigner rotation, are analyzed in the soft and hard energy regions respectively. Our results show that the right power behavior of the hard contribution from the higher helicity components can only be obtained by fully keeping the $k_T$ depend…
We show that the form of the recently proposed subleading soft graviton and gluon theorems in any dimension are severely constrained by elementary arguments based on Poincaré and gauge invariance as well as a self-consistency condition arising from the distributional nature of scattering amplitudes. Combined with the assumption of a local form as it would arise from a Ward identity the orbital part of the subleading operators is completely fixed by the leading universal Weinberg soft pole behavior. The polarization part of the differential subleading soft operators in turn is determined up to …
We demonstrate that partonic correlations that would traditionally be identified as subleading on the basis of a generalized TMD-factorization conjecture can become leading-power because of TMD-factorization breaking that arises in hadron-hadron collisions with large transverse momentum back-to-back hadrons produced in the final state. General forms of TMD-factorization fail for such processes because of a previously noted incompatibility between the requirements for TMD-factorization and the Ward identities of non-Abelian gauge theories. We first review the basic steps for factorizing the glu…
We calculate inclusive cross section for $f_2(1270)$ tensor meson production via color singlet gluon-gluon fusion in the $k_t$-factorization approach with unintegrated gluon distribution functions (UGDFs). The process may be potentially interesting in the context of searches for saturation effects. The energy-momentum tensor, equivalent to helicity-2 coupling, and helicity-0 coupling are used for the $g^* g^* \to f_2(1270)$ vertex. Two somewhat different parametrizations of helicity-2 and helicity-0 tensorial structure from the literature are used in our calculations. Some parameters are extra…
Many state-of-the-art QCD calculations for multileg processes use helicity amplitudes as their fundamental ingredients. We construct a simple and easy-to-use helicity operator basis in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), for which the hard Wilson coefficients from matching QCD onto SCET are directly given in terms of color-ordered helicity amplitudes. Using this basis allows one to seamlessly combine fixed-order helicity amplitudes at any order they are known with a resummation of higher-order logarithmic corrections. In particular, the virtual loop amplitudes can be employed in factorizat…
We present a phenomenological model for the helicity amplitudes T11 and T00 of the rho meson exclusive diffractive leptoproduction in the forward limit. This model leads to a very good description of the polarized cross-sections sigmaT and sigmaL when compared to HERA data. This model is based on the impact factor representation of the helicity amplitudes. The gamma* -> rho impact factor is computed within the light-cone collinear factorization scheme, the impact parameter space representation allowing to factorize out the dipole-target amplitude. Finally our description combines a model for t…
We discuss single-diffractive production of dijets. The cross section is calculated for the first time in the $k_t$-factorization approach, neglecting transverse momentum of the pomeron. We use Kimber-Martin-Ryskin unintegrated parton (gluon, quark, antiquark) distributions (UPDF) both in the proton as well as in the pomeron or subleading reggeon. The UPDFs are calculated based on conventional MMHT2014nlo PDFs in the proton and H1 collaboration diffractive PDFs used previously in the analysis of diffractive structure function and dijets at HERA. We try to describe the existing data from Tevatr…
We examine the anomalous dimension matrix appropriate for the phase space restricted B --> X(u) ell anti-nu and B --> X(s) gamma decay spectra to subleading nonperturbative order. The effects of the time ordered products of the HQET Lagrangian with the leading order shape function operator are calculated, as are the anomalous dimensions of subleading operators. We establish the renormalizability and closure of a subset of the non-local operator basis, a requirement for the establishment of factorization theorems at this order. Operator mixing is found between the operators which occur to suble…
We present a systematical study on the kaon electromagnetic form factors $F_{K^{\pm},K^0,\bar{K}^0}(Q^2)$ within the $k_T$ factorization formalism, where the transverse momentum effects, the contributions from the different helicity components and different twist structures of the kaon light-cone (LC) wave function are carefully analyzed for giving a well understanding of the hard contributions at the energy region where pQCD is applicable. The right power behavior of the hard contribution from the higher helicity components and from the higher twist structures can be obtained by keeping the $…
We present the next-to-leading power (NLP) factorization formula for the $q\bar{q}\to γ^*+X$ channel of the Drell-Yan production near the kinematic threshold limit. The formalism used for the computation of next-to-leading power corrections within soft-collinear effective field theory is introduced, we discuss the emergence of new objects, the NLP collinear functions, and define them through an operator matching equation. We review the leading power factorization before extending it to subleading powers. We also present the one-loop result for the newly introduced collinear function, and demon…
We derive high-order threshold corrections for top quark production in hadronic collisions from resummation calculations. We present analytical expressions for the cross section through next-to-next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N^4LO) and next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. Special attention is paid to the role of subleading logarithms and how they relate to the convergence of the perturbation series and differences between various resummation prescriptions. It is shown that care must be taken to avoid unphysical terms in the expansions. Numerical results are presented for top q…
We propose the measurement of $χ_{cJ}$ polarizations at high energy hadron colliders to study heavy quarkonium production mechanism. We find that the color-singlet model in the $k_t$ factorization approach predicts very different behavior for $χ_{cJ}$ polarizations at the Fermilab Tevatron compared with the NRQCD predictions in the collinear parton model. In the color-singlet $k_t$ factorization approach, for both $χ_{c1}$ and $χ_{c2}$ productions, the helicity $h=0$ states dominate over other helicity states at large $p_T$. These properties are very useful in distinguishing between the two pr…
The asymptotic freedom is known to split the leading-$\log$ BFKL pomeron into a series of isolated poles in the complex angular momentum plane. One of our earlier findings was that the subleading hard BFKL exchanges decouple from such experimentally important observables as small-$x$ charm, $F_2^c$, and the longitudinal, $F_L$, structure functions of the proton at moderately large $Q^2$. For instance, we predicted precocious BFKL asymptotics of $F_2^c(x,Q^2)$ with intercept of the rightmost BFKL pole $α_{\Pom}(0)-1=Δ_{\Pom}\approx 0.4$. On the other hand, the small-$x$ open beauty photo- and e…
We apply a previously developed scheme to consistently include the twist-3 distribution amplitudes for transversely polarized rho meson in order to evaluate, in the framework of kT factorization, the helicity amplitudes for exclusive leptoproduction of a light vector meson, at leading order in alphaS. We compare our results with high energy experimental data for the ratios of helicity amplitudes T11/T00 and T01/T00 and get a good description of the data.
In the heavy quark limit, both vector mesons in the charmless B -> VV decay should have zero helicity and the corresponding amplitude is proportional to the form factor difference $(A_1-A_2)$. The first observed charmless $B\to VV$ mode, $B\toϕK^*$, indicates that the form factors $A_1(q^2)$ and $A_2(q^2)$ cannot be very similar at low $q^2$ as shown in some form-factor models. The approach of QCD-improved factorization implies that the nonfactorizable correction to each partial-wave or helicity amplitude is not the same; the effective parameters $a_i$ vary for different helicity amplitudes. T…
Applying the method of light-cone sum rules with photon distribution amplitudes, we compute the subleading-power correction to the radiative leptonic $B \to γ\ell ν$ decay, at next-to-leading order in QCD for the twist-two contribution and at leading order in $α_s$ for the higher-twist contributions, induced by the hadronic component of the collinear photon. The leading-twist hadronic photon effect turns out to preserve the symmetry relation between the two $B \to γ$ form factors due to the helicity conservation, however, the higher-twist hadronic photon corrections can yield symmetry-breaking…
The renormalon calculus is used to calculate the terms of order $β_0^{n-1}α_s^n$ in the perturbative expansions of the Wilson coefficients and hard-scattering kernels entering the QCD factorization formula for hadronic B-meson decays into two light pseudoscalar mesons. The asymptotic behavior of the expansions is analyzed, and a minimal model of power corrections arising from soft ``non-factorizable'' gluon exchange to the B->pi K,pi pi decay amplitudes is obtained, which takes into account the structure of the leading and subleading infrared renormalon singularities. Whereas the resulting pow…
We present a factorization theorem valid near the kinematic threshold $z=Q^2/\hat{s}\to 1$ of the partonic Drell-Yan process $q\bar q\toγ^*+X$ for general subleading powers in the $(1-z)$ expansion. We then consider the specific case of next-to-leading power. We discuss the emergence of collinear functions, which are a key ingredient to factorization starting at next-to-leading power. We calculate the relevant collinear functions at $\mathcal{O}(α_s)$ by employing an operator matching equation and we compare our results to the expansion-by-regions computation up to the next-to-next-to-leading …
We construct a theoretical framework to match the formulas for forward inclusive hadron productions in pA collisions in the small-x saturation formalism and collinear factorization. The small-x calculation can be viewed as a power series in $Q_s^2/k_\perp^2$, in which the collinear factorization result corresponds to the leading term. At high transverse momentum, the subleading correction terms are insignficant, whereas at low $p_\perp$, the power corrections become important and the small-x resummation is essential to describe the differential cross section. We show that the familiar collinea…
We present a generalized QCD factorization scheme for the high energy inclusive polarized process, (A, S_A) + (B, S_B) -> C + X, including all intrinsic partonic motions. This introduces many non-trivial azimuthal phases and several new spin and k_T dependent soft functions. The formal expressions for single and double spin asymmetries are discussed. Numerical results for A_N[p(transv. polarized) p -> pi + X] are presented.
We set up a framework for the study of the power-suppressed three-parton contribution to the pion electromagnetic form factor in the $k_T$ factorization theorem. It is first shown that the gauge dependence proportional to parton transverse momenta from the two-parton Fock state and the gauge dependence associated with the three-parton Fock state cancel each other. After verifying the gauge invariance, we derive the three-parton-to-three-parton $k_T$-dependent hard kernel at leading order of the coupling constant, and find that it leads to about 5% correction to the pion electromagnetic form fa…
There has been recent interest in understanding the all loop structure of the subleading power soft and collinear limits, with the goal of achieving a systematic resummation of subleading power infrared logarithms. Most of this work has focused on subleading power corrections to soft gluon emission, whose form is strongly constrained by symmetries. In this paper we initiate a study of the all loop structure of soft fermion emission. In $\mathcal{N}=1$ QCD we perform an operator based factorization and resummation of the associated infrared logarithms, and prove that they exponentiate into a Su…
We revisit QCD calculations of radiative heavy meson decay form factors by including the subleading power corrections from the twist-two photon distribution amplitude at next-to-leading-order in $α_s$ with the method of the light-cone sum rules (LCSR). The desired hard-collinear factorization formula for the vacuum-to-photon correlation function with the interpolating currents for two heavy mesons is constructed with the operator-product-expansion technique in the presence of evanescent operators. Applying the background field approach, the higher twist corrections from both the two-particle a…
We calculate the one-loop corrections to a general off-forward deeply-virtual Compton process at leading twist for both parton helicity-dependent and independent cases. We show that the infrared divergences can be factorized entirely into off-forward parton distributions, even when one of the two photons is onshell. We argue that this property persists to all orders in perturbation theory. We obtain the next-to-leading order Wilson coefficients for the general leading-twist expansion of the product of two electromagnetic currents in the \overline{\rm MS} scheme.
We discuss central-forward dijet production at LHC energies within the framework of high energy factorization. In our study, we profit from the recent progress on consistent merging of Sudakov resummation with small-$x$ effects, which allows us to compute two different gluon distributions which depend on longitudinal momentum, transverse momentum and the hard scale of the process: one for the quark channel and one for the gluon channel. The small-$x$ resummation is included by means of the BK equation supplemented with a kinematic constraint and subleading corrections. We test the new gluon di…
Within the framework of QCD factorization (QCDF), power corrections due to penguin annihilation can account for the observed rates of penguin-dominated two-body decays of $B$ mesons and direct CP asymmetries $A_{CP}(K^-π^+)$, $A_{CP}(K^{*-}π^+)$, $A_{CP}(K^-ρ^0)$ and $A_{CP}(π^+π^-)$. However, the predicted direct CP-violating effects in QCDF for $B^-\to K^-π^0,K^-η,π^-η$ and $\bar B^0\toπ^0π^0$ are wrong in signs when confronted with experiment. We show that subleading $1/m_b$ power corrections to the color-suppressed tree amplitude due to spectator scattering or final-state interactions will…
We discuss the subleading power corrections to one-jet production processes in $N$-jettiness subtraction using vector-boson plus jet production as an example. We analytically derive the next-to-leading power leading logarithmic corrections (NLP-LL) through ${\cal O}(α_S)$ in perturbative QCD, and outline the calculation of the next-to-leading logarithmic corrections (NLP-NLL). Our result is differential in the jet transverse momentum and rapidity, and in the vector boson momentum squared and rapidity. We present simple formulae that separate the NLP corrections into universal factors valid for…
Branching fractions and CP-violating asymmetries of charmless $\bar B_s\to PP, VP, VV$ decays (P and V denoting pseudoscalar and vector mesons, respectively) are re-examined in the framework of QCD factorization (QCDF). We take into account subleading power corrections to the penguin annihilation topology and to color-suppressed tree amplitudes that are crucial for resolving the CP puzzles and rate deficit problems with penguin-dominated two-body decays and color-suppressed tree-dominated $π^0π^0$ and $ρ^0π^0$ modes in the $B_{u,d}$ sector. Many of the $B_s\to h_1h_2$ decays can be related to …
We formulate and prove a QCD factorization theorem for hard exclusive electroproduction of mesons in QCD. The proof is valid for the leading power in Q and all logarithms. This generalizes previous work on vector meson production in the diffractive region of small x. The amplitude is expressed in terms of off-diagonal generalizations of the usual parton densities. The full theorem applies to all kinds of meson and not just to vector mesons. The parton densities used include not only the ordinary parton density, but also the helicity density (g_1 or $Δq$) and the transversity density ($h_1$ or …
