In this paper we develop linear transfer Perron Frobenius operator-based approach for optimal stabilization of stochastic nonlinear system. One of the main highlight of the proposed transfer operator based approach is that both the theory and computational framework developed for the optimal stabilization of deterministic dynamical system in [1] carries over to the stochastic case with little change. The optimal stabilization problem is formulated as an infinite dimensional linear program. Set oriented numerical methods are proposed for the finite dimensional approximation of the transfer operator and the controller. Simulation results are presented to verify the developed framework.
In this paper, a control scheme for stochastic predefined-time stabilization is proposed, which improves the control effect compared with stochastic finite-time or fixed-time stabilization. The stochastic predefined-time stabilization allows the upper bound of the mathematical expectation of the settling-time function below any given positive value. Some Lyapunov-type results for predefined-time stabilization of general stochastic Itô systems are presented. Moreover, a state feedback control scheme is designed for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems in strict-feedback form. Two simulation …
In this paper, the problem of non-fragile finite-time stabilization for linear discrete mean-field stochastic systems is studied. The uncertain characteristics in control parameters are assumed to be random satisfying the Bernoulli distribution. A new approach called the ``state transition matrix method" is introduced and some necessary and sufficient conditions are derived to solve the underlying stabilization problem. The Lyapunov theorem based on the state transition matrix also makes a contribution to the discrete finite-time control theory. One practical example is provided to validate th…

Control Lyapunov function is a central tool in stabilization. It generalizes an abstract energy function -- a Lyapunov function -- to the case of controlled systems. It is a known fact that most control Lyapunov functions are non-smooth -- so is the case in non-holonomic systems, like wheeled robots and cars. Frameworks for stabilization using non-smooth control Lyapunov functions exist, like Dini aiming and steepest descent. This work generalizes the related results to the stochastic case. As the groundwork, sampled control scheme is chosen in which control actions are computed at discrete mo…
Stabilization of highly nonlinear hybrid stochastic differential delay equations by periodically intermittent feedback controls based on discrete-time observations with asynchronous switching

In this paper, we study the stability of solutions of stochastic McKean-Vlasov equations (SMVEs) via feedback control based on discrete-time state observation. By using a specific Lyapunov function, the $H_{\infty}$ stability, asymptotic stability and exponential stability in mean square for the solution of the controlled systems are obtained. Since the distribution of solution is difficult to be observed, we study the corresponding particle system which can be observed for the feedback control. We prove that the exponential stability of control system is equivalent to the the exponential stab…
This paper addresses stochastic stabilization in case where implementation of control policies is digital, i. e., when the dynamical system is treated continuous, whereas the control actions are held constant in predefined time steps. In such a setup, special attention should be paid to the sample-to-sample behavior of the involved Lyapunov function. This paper extends on the stochastic stability results specifically to address for the sample-and-hold mode. We show that if a Markov policy stabilizes the system in a suitable sense, then it also practically stabilizes it in the sample-and-hold s…
An optimal control for a dynamical system optimizes a certain objective function. Here we consider the construction of an optimal control for a stochastic dynamical system with a random structure, Poisson perturbations and random jumps, which makes the system stable in probability. Sufficient conditions of the stability in probability are obtained, using the second Lyapunov method, in which the construction of the corresponding functions plays an important role. Here we provide a solution to the problem of optimal stabilization in a general case. For a linear system with a quadratic quality fu…
This paper studies the feedback stabilization problem of the motion of a tank that contains an incompressible, Newtonian, viscous liquid. The control input is the force applied on the tank and the overall system consists of two nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and two Ordinary Differential Equations. Moreover, a spill-free condition is required to hold. By applying the Control Lyapunov Functional methodology, a set of initial conditions (state space) is determined for which spill-free motion of the liquid is possible by applying an appropriate control input. Semi-global stabilization o…
In this paper, we investigate the mean-square stabilization for discrete-time stochastic systems that endure both multiple input delays and multiplicative control-dependent noises. For such multi-delay stochastic systems, we for the first time put forward two stabilization criteria: Riccati type and Lyapunov type. On the one hand, we adopt a reduction method to reformulate the original multi-delay stochastic system to a delay-free auxiliary system and present their equivalent proposition for stabilization. Then, by introducing a delay-dependent algebraic Riccati equation (DDARE), we prove that…
In this paper, we consider N-level quantum angular momentum systems interacting with electromagnetic fields undergoing continuous-time measurements. We suppose unawareness of the initial state and physical parameters, entailing the introduction of an additional state representing the estimated quantum state. The evolution of the quantum state and its estimation is described by a coupled stochastic master equation. Here, we study the asymptotic behavior of such a system in presence of a feedback controller. We provide sufficient conditions on the feedback controller and on the estimated paramet…
Stability Analysis and Stabilization of Linear Symmetric Matrix-Valued Continuous, Discrete, and Impulsive Dynamical Systems -- A Unified Approach for the Stability Analysis of Linear Systems
The problem of partial stabilization for nonlinear control systems described by the Ito stochastic differential equations is considered. For these systems, we propose a constructive control design method which leads to establishing the asymptotic stability in probability of the trivial solution of the closed-loop system with respect to a part of state variables. Mechanical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the obtained controllers.
We consider linear hyperbolic balance law that describe gas flow. Stochastic influences are introduced by series of orthogonal functions. A deterministic stabilization concept, which makes deviations at steady states decay exponentially fast, is extended to stochastic influences. These can be described by general Gaussian processes. The computational complexity, however, may prevent an application to certain random fields.
