Given a filtration of a commutative monoid $A$ in a symmetric monoidal stable model category $\mathcal{C}$, we construct a spectral sequence analogous to the May spectral sequence whose input is the higher order topological Hochschild homology of the associated graded commutative monoid of $A$, and whose output is the higher order topological Hochschild homology of $A$. We then construct examples of such filtrations and derive some consequences: for example, given a connective commutative graded ring $R$, we get an upper bound on the size of the $THH$-groups of $E_{\infty}$-ring spectra $A$ such that $π_*(A) \cong R$.
We compute topological Hochschild homology mod $p$ and $v_1$ of the connective cover of the $K(1)$-local sphere spectrum for all primes $p\ge 3$. This is accomplished using a May-type spectral sequence in topological Hochschild homology constructed from a filtration of a commutative ring spectrum.
We study the logarithmic topological Hochschild homology of ring spectra with logarithmic structures and establish localization sequences for this theory. Our results apply, for example, to connective covers of periodic ring spectra like real and complex topological K-theory.
Shadows for bicategories, defined by Ponto, provide a useful framework that generalizes classical and topological Hochschild homology. We show that Connes' B-operator on a cyclic differential graded k-module M is a model for the canonical circle action on the geometric realization of M. This implies that the negative cyclic homology and the periodic cyclic homology of a differential graded category can be identified with the homotopy fixed points and the Tate fixed points of the circle action on its Hochschild complex.
In this paper we continue our study of logarithmic topological Hochschild homology. We show that the inclusion of the connective Adams summand into the p-local complex connective K-theory spectrum, equipped with suitable log structures, is a formally log THH-etale map, and compute the V(1)-homotopy of their logarithmic topological Hochschild homology spectra. As an application, we recover Ausoni's computation of the V(1)-homotopy of the ordinary THH of ku.

We calculate the topological Hochschild homology groups of a maximal order in a central algebra over the rationals. Since the positive-dimensional THH groups consist only of torsion, we do this one prime ideal at a time for all the nonzero prime ideals in the center of the maximal order. This allows us to reduce the problem to studying the THH groups of maximal orders A in simple algebras over Q_p. We show that the topological Hochschild homology of A/(p) splits as the tensor product of its Hochschild homology and the topological Hochschild homology of F_p. We use this result in Brun's spectra…

The topological Hochschild homology $THH(A)$ of an orthogonal ring spectrum $A$ can be defined by evaluating the cyclic bar construction on $A$ or by applying Bökstedt's original definition of $THH$ to $A$. In this paper, we construct a chain of stable equivalences of cyclotomic spectra comparing these two models for $THH(A)$. This implies that the two versions of topological cyclic homology resulting from these variants of $THH(A)$ are equivalent.
Higher Hochschild homology is the analog of the homology of spaces, where the context for the coefficients -- which usually is that of abelian groups -- is that of commutative algebras. Two spaces that are equivalent after a suspension have the same homology. We show that this is not the case for higher Hochschild homology, providing a counterexample to a behavior so far observed in stable homotopy theory.

We perform Hochschild homology calculations in the algebro-geometric setting of motives. The motivic Hochschild homology coefficient ring contains torsion classes which arise from the mod-$p$ motivic Steenrod algebra and from generating functions on the natural numbers with finite non-empty support. Under the Betti realization, we recover Bökstedt's calculation of the topological Hochschild homology of finite prime fields.
We define a functorial spectrum-level filtration on the topological Hochschild homology of any commutative ring spectrum $R$, and more generally the factorization homology $R \otimes X$ for any space $X$, echoing algebraic constructions of Loday and Pirashvili. We investigate the properties of this filtration and show that it breaks THH up into common eigenspectra of the Adams operations.

This paper interprets Hesselholt and Madsen's real topological Hochschild homology functor THR in terms of the multiplicative norm construction. We show that THR satisfies cofinality and Morita invariance, and that it is suitably multiplicative. We then calculate its geometric fixed points and its Mackey functor of components, and show a decomposition result for group-algebras. We give a short proof of Kaledin's theorem on the degeneration of the noncommutative Hodge-to-de Rham spectral sequence. Our approach is based on topological Hochschild homology and the theory of cyclotomic spectra. As a consequence, we also obtain relative versions of the degeneration theorem, both in characteristic zero and for regular bases in characteristic $p$.
We generalize a spectral sequence of Brun for the computation of topological Hochschild homology. The generalized version computes the $E$-homology of $THH(A;B)$, where $E$ is a ring spectrum, $A$ is a commutative $S$-algebra and $B$ is a connective commutative $A$-algebra. Using factorization homology techniques, we give a simple proof of the action of Kontsevich and Soibelman operad on the pair consisting of Hochschild cohomology and Hochschild homology. The proof obviously extends to higher Hochschild cohomology and factorization (also called chiral) homology. Note that our result works in categories of chain complexes but also in categories of modules over a commutative ring spectrum.
We determine higher topological Hochschild homology of rings of integers in number fields with coefficients in suitable residue fields. We use the iterative description of higher THH for this and Postnikov arguments that allow us to reduce the necessary computations to calculations in homological algebra, starting from the results of Bökstedt and Lindenstrauss-Madsen on (ordinary) topological Hochschild homology.
In this short note we study the topological Hoschschild homology of Eilenberg-MacLane spectra for finite cyclic groups. In particular, we show that the Eilenberg-MacLane spectrum H(Z/p^k) is a Thom spectrum for any prime p (except, possibly, when p=k=2) and we also compute its topological Hoschshild homology. This yields a short proof of the results obtained by Brun, and by Pirashvili except for the anomalous case p=k=2.
We give a method for computing factorization homology of $\oper{E}_n$-algebra using as an input an algebraic version of higher Hochschild homology due to Pirashvili. We then show how to compute higher Hochschild homology and cohomology when the algebra is étale in a sense that we make precise. As an application, we compute higher Hochschild cohomology of the Lubin-Tate ring spectrum.
We show that an important classical fixed point invariant, the Reidemeister trace, arises as a topological Hochschild homology transfer. This generalizes a corresponding classical result for the Euler characteristic and is a first step in showing the Reidemeister trace is in the image of the cyclotomic trace. The main result follows from developing the relationship between shadows, topological Hochschild homology, and Morita invariance in bicategorical generality.
We study the homological algebra of bimodules over involutive associative algebras. We show that Braun's definition of involutive Hochschild cohomology in terms of the complex of involution-preserving derivations is indeed computing a derived functor: the Z/2-invariants intersected with the center. We then introduce the corresponding involutive Hochschild homology theory and describe it as the derived functor of the pushout of Z/2-coinvariants and abelianization.
We consider the Gorenstein condition for topological Hochschild homology, and show that it holds remarkably often. More precisely, if R is a commutative ring spectrum and and R----->k is a ring map to a field of characteristic p then, provided k is small as an R-module, THH(R;k) is Gorenstein in the sense of Dwyer-Greenlees-Iyengar. In particular, this holds if R is a (conventional) regular local ring with residue field k of characteristic p.
