Neutrino mixing sum rules are common to a large class of models based on the (discrete) symmetry approach to lepton flavour. In this approach the neutrino mixing matrix $U$ is assumed to have an underlying approximate symmetry form $\tilde{U}_ν$, which is dictated by, or associated with, the employed (discrete) symmetry. In such a setup the cosine of the Dirac CP-violating phase $δ$ can be related to the three neutrino mixing angles in terms of a sum rule which depends on the symmetry form of $\tilde{U}_ν$. We consider five extensively discussed possible symmetry forms of $\tilde{U}_ν$: i) bimaximal (BM) and ii) tri-bimaximal (TBM) forms, the forms corresponding to iii) golden ratio type A (GRA) mixing, iv) golden ratio type B (GRB) mixing, and v) hexagonal (HG) mixing. For each of these forms we investigate the renormalisation group corrections to the sum rule predictions for $δ$ in the cases of neutrino Majorana mass term generated by the Weinberg (dimension 5) operator added to i) the Standard Model, and ii) the minimal SUSY extension of the Standard Model.
In recent years three-, four- and five-loop beta functions have been computed for various phenomenologically interesting models. However, most of these results have not been implemented in easy to use software packages. $\texttt{RGE++}$ bridges this gap by providing a flexible, template-based, $\texttt{C++}$ library to solve renormalisation group equations. Furthermore, we implement the available beta functions for the Standard Model, the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model and two-Higgs-doublet models, as well as right-handed neutrino extensions of the former two.
A naive application of the heavy quark expansion (HQE) yields theory estimates for the decay rate of neutral $D$ mesons that are four orders of magnitude below the experimental determination. It is well known that this huge suppression results from severe GIM cancellations. We find that this mismatch can be solved by individually choosing the renormalisation scale of the different internal quark contributions. For $b$ and $c$ hadron lifetimes, as well as for the decay rate difference of neutral $B$ mesons the effect of our scale setting procedure lies within the previously quoted theory uncert…
We explore the impact of Renormalisation Group (RG) effects in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) interpretations of LHC measurements. We implement the RG running and mixing for the Wilson coefficients as obtained from the one-loop anomalous dimension matrix in the SMEFT into a Monte Carlo generator. This allows to consistently predict and combine in global fits collider observables characterised by different scales. As a showcase, we examine the impact of RG running in the strong coupling on the SMEFT predictions for $t \bar t$ production cross sections and differential distrib…
If neutrinos are Dirac, the conditions for cobimaximal mixing, i.e. $θ_{23}=π/4$ and $δ_{CP}=\pm π/2$ in the $3 \times 3$ neutrino mixing matrix, are derived. One example with $A_4$ symmetry and radiative Dirac neutrino masses is presented.
The 2-neutrino exchange potential (2NEP) is a Standard Model (SM) weak potential due to the exchange of virtual neutrino-antineutrino pairs. Consequently, many aspects of neutrino physics, such as the number of flavors, their masses, fermionic nature (Dirac or Majorana), low-energy neutrino physics and CP-violation, can be examined via the 2NEP. We present a new approach for calculating the 2NEP taking into account the phenomenon of neutrino mixing and CP-violation which arises from the structure of the SM weak interaction Lagrangian. Lastly, we explore implications of our result in various ph…
We propose new mixing schemes for (3+1) neutrinos which describe mixing among active-active and active-sterile neutrinos. The mixing matrix in these mixing schemes can be factored into a zeroth order flavor symmetric part and another part representing small perturbations needed for generating non-zero $U_{e3}$, nonmaximal $θ_{23}$, CP violation and active-sterile mixing. We find interesting correlations amongst various neutrino mixing angles and, also, calculate the parameter space for various parameters.
