Starting from the Riemann-Liouville derivative, many authors have built their own notion of fractional derivative in order to avoid some classical difficulties like a non zero derivative for a constant function or a rather complicated analogue of the Leibniz relation. Discussing in full generality the existence of such operator over continuous functions, we derive some obstruction Lemma which can be used to prove the triviality of some operators as long as the linearity and the Leibniz property are preserved. As an application, we discuss some properties of the Jumarie's fractional derivative as well as the local fractional derivative. We also discuss the chain rule property in the same perspective.

In this paper, we present some results for existence of global solutions and attractivity for mulidimensional fractional differential equations involving Riemann-Liouville derivative. First, by using a Bielecki type norm and Banach fixed point theorem, we prove a Picard-Lindelöf type theorem on the existence and uniqueness of solutions. Then, applying the properties of Mittag-Leffler functions, we describe the attractivity of solutions to some classes of Riemann--Liouville linear fractional differential systems.

In this paper, we aim to present new extensions of incomplete gamma, beta, Gauss hypergeometric, confluent hypergeometric function and Appell-Lauricella hypergeometric functions, by using the extended Bessel function due to Boudjelkha [4]. Some recurrence relations, transformation formulas, Mellin transform and integral representations are obtained for these generalizations. Further, an extension of the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative operator is established.
This paper targets to study the effect of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integral operator on unbounded variation points of a continuous function. In particular, we show that the fractional integral preserves the bounded variation points of a function. We also prove that the fractional integral operator is a bounded linear operator on the class of bounded variation and continuous functions.
In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a fractional boundary value problem supplemented with nonlocal Riemann-Liouville fractional integral and Caputo fractional derivative boundary conditions. Our results are based on some known tools of fixed point theory. Finally, some illustrative examples are included to verify the validity of our results.

In this article we establish a few Lyapunov-type inequalities for two-point discrete fractional boundary value problems involving Riemann-Liouville type backward differences. To illustrate the applicability of established results, we obtain criteria for the nonexistence of nontrivial solutions and estimate lower bounds for eigenvalues of the corresponding eigenvalue problems. We also apply these inequalities to deduce criteria for the nonexistence of real zeros of certain discrete Mittag-Leffler functions.

Using the new conformable fractional derivative, which differs from the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional derivatives, we reformulate the second-order conjugate boundary value problem in this new setting. Utilizing the corresponding positive fractional Green's function, we apply a functional compression-expansion fixed point theorem to prove the existence of a positive solution. We then compare our results favorably to those based on the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative.

The existence of solutions to Cauchy type problems of linear Riemann-Liouville fractional differential equations with variable coefficients is considered in a space of integrable functions. First, we consider the existence and uniqueness of solution for a Cauchy type problem with special initial conditions in the space of integrable functions.
