Let $M$ be an irreducible holomorphic symplectic (hyperkähler) manifold. If $b_2(M)\geq 5$, we construct a deformation $M'$ of $M$ which admits a symplectic automorphism of infinite order. This automorphism is hyperbolic, that is, its action on the space of real $(1,1)$-classes is hyperbolic. If $b_2(M) \geq 14$, similarly, we construct a deformation which admits a parabolic automorphism.
Let $X$ be a hyperkähler variety, and assume that $X$ admits a non-symplectic automorphism $σ$ of order $k>{1\over 2}\dim X$. Bloch's conjecture predicts that the quotient $X/<σ>$ should have trivial Chow group of $0$-cycles. We verify this for Fano varieties of lines on certain cubic fourfolds having an order $3$ non-symplectic automorphism.

Bloch's conjecture predicts that the quotient $X/<σ>$ should have trivial Chow group of $0$-cycles. One central problem in real algebraic geometry is to classify the real structures of a given complex manifold. We address this problem for compact hyperkähler manifolds by showing that any such manifold admits only finitely many real structures up to equivalence. We actually prove more generally that there are only finitely many, up to conjugacy, faithful finite group actions by holomorphic or anti-holomorphic automorphisms (the so-called Klein actions). In other words, the automorphism group and the Klein automorphism group of a compact hyperkähler manifold contain only finitely many conjugac…
We first prove an isomorphism between the moduli space of smooth cubic threefolds and the moduli space of hyperkaehler fourfolds of K3^{[2]}-type with a non-symplectic automorphism of order three, whose invariant lattice has rank one and is generated by a class of square 6, both these spaces are uniformized by the same 10-dimensional arithmetic complex ball quotient. We then study the degeneration of the automorphism along the loci of nodal or chordal degenerations of the cubic threefold, showing the birationality of these loci with some moduli spaces of hyperkaehler fourfolds of K3^{[2]}-type…

We study groups of bimeromorphic and biholomorphic automorphisms of projective hyperkähler manifolds. Using an action of these groups on some non-positively curved space, we deduce many of their properties, including finite presentation, strong form of Tits' alternative and some structural results about groups consisting of transformations with infinite order.
The aim of these notes is to acquaint the reader with important objects in complex algebraic geometry: K3 surfaces and their higher-dimensional analogs, hyperkähler manifolds. These manifolds are interesting from several points of view: dynamical (some have interesting automorphism groups), arithmetical (although we will not say anything on this aspect of the theory), and geometric. It is also one of those rare cases where the Torelli theorem allows for a powerful link between the geometry of these manifolds and lattice theory. We do not prove all the results that we state. Our aim is more to …
Criteria for the existence of equivariant fibrations on algebraic surfaces and hyperkähler manifolds and equality of automorphisms up to powers - a dynamical viewpoint
This is an improved version of the eprint previously entitled "Unexpected isomorphisms between hyperkähler fourfolds." We study smooth projective hyperkähler fourfolds that are deformations of Hilbert squares of K3 surfaces and are equipped with a polarization of fixed degree and divisibility. They are parametrized by a quasi-projective irreducible 20-dimensional moduli space and Verbitksy's Torelli theorem implies that their period map is an open embedding. Our main result is that the complement of the image of the period map is a finite union of explicit Heegner divisors that we describe. We…
We classify the group of birational automorphisms of Hilbert schemes of points on algebraic K3 surfaces of Picard rank one. We study whether these automorphisms are symplectic or non-symplectic and if there exists a hyperkähler birational model on which they become biregular. We also present new geometrical constructions of these automorphisms.
We prove that the natural representaion, on the total Betti cohomolgy group, of the automorphism group of a hyperkähler manifold deformation equivalent to a generalized Kummer manifold is faithful. This is a sort of generalization of an earlier work of Beauville and a recent work of Boissére, Nieper-Wisskirchan and Sarti, concerning the representation on the second cohomology group.
We consider a $10$-dimensional family of Lehn-Lehn-Sorger-van Straten hyperkähler eightfolds which have a non-symplectic automorphism of order $3$. Using the theory of finite-dimensional motives, we show that the action of this automorphism on the Chow group of $0$-cycles is as predicted by the Bloch-Beilinson conjectures. We prove a similar statement for the anti-symplectic involution on varieties in this family. This has interesting consequences for the intersection product in the Chow ring of these varieties.
