This paper investigates ideal-theoretic as well as homological extensions of the Prufer domain concept to commutative rings with zero divisors in an amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal. The new results both compare and contrast with recent results on trivial ring extensions (and pullbacks) as well as yield original families of examples issued from amalgamated duplications subject to various Prufer conditions.
In this paper we improve the recent results on the transfer of Prüfer, Gaussian and arithmetical conditions on amalgamated constructions. As an application we provide an answer to a question posed by Chhiti, Jarrar, Kabbaj and Mahdou as well as we construct various examples.
In this paper, we consider five possible extensions of the Prüfer domain notion to the case of commutative rings with zero-divisors. We investigate the transfer of these Prüfer-like properties between a ring $R$ and $R\bowtie I$; his amalgamated duplication along some ideal $I$, and then generate new and original families of rings with these properties.
Let $f:A\longrightarrow B$ be a ring homomorphism and let $\mathfrak b$ be an ideal of $B$. In this paper we study Prüfer like conditions in the amalgamation of $A$ with $B$ along $\mathfrak b$, with respect to $f$, a ring construction introduced in 2009 by D'Anna, Finocchiaro and Fontana.
Let $f: A\rightarrow B$ and $g: A\rightarrow C$ be two ring homomorphisms and let $J$ (resp., $J'$) be an ideal of $B$ (resp., $C$) such that $f^{-1}(J)=g^{-1}(J')$. In this paper, we investigate the transfer of the notions of Gaussian and Prüfer properties to the bi-amalgamation of $A$ with $(B,C)$ along $(J,J')$ with respect to $(f,g)$ (denoted by $A\bowtie^{f,g}(J,J')),$ introduced and studied by Kabbaj, Louartiti and Tamekkante in 2013. Our results recover well known results on amalgamations in \cite{Finno} and generate new original examples of rings satisfying these properties.
Let $f : A \rightarrow B$ be a ring homomorphism and $J$ be an ideal of $B$. In this paper, we give a characterization of zero divisors of the amalgamation which is a generalization of Maimani's and Yassemi's work (see \cite{y}). Also, we investigate the transfer of Prüfer domain concept to commutative rings with zero divisors in the amalgamation of $A$ with $B$ along $J$ with respect to $f$ (denoted by $A\bowtie^fJ),$ introduced and studied by D'Anna, Finocchiaro and Fontana in 2009 (see \cite{AFF1} and \cite{AFF2}). Our aim is to provide new classes of commutative rings satisfying this prope…
Let $f:A \to B$ be a ring homomorphism and let $J$ be an ideal of $B$. In this paper, we study the amalgamation of $A$ with $B$ along $J$ with respect to $f$ (denoted by ${A\Join^fJ}$), a construction that provides a general frame for studying the amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal, introduced and studied by D'Anna and Fontana in 2007, and other classical constructions (such as the $A+ XB[X]$, the $A+ XB[[X]]$ and the $D+M$ constructions). In particular, we completely describe the prime spectrum of the amalgamated duplication and we give bounds for its Krull dimension.
Given a numerical semigroup ring $R=k[\![S]\!]$, an ideal $E$ of $S$ and an odd element $b \in S$, the numerical duplication $S \! \Join^b \! E$ is a numerical semigroup, whose associated ring $k[\![S \! \Join^b \! E]\!]$ shares many properties with the Nagata's idealization and the amalgamated duplication of $R$ along the monomial ideal $I=(t^e \mid e\in E)$. In this paper we study the associated graded ring of the numerical duplication characterizing when it is Cohen-Macaulay, Gorenstein or complete intersection. We also study when it is a homogeneous numerical semigroup, a property that is …
In this paper, we introduce a strong property $(A)$ and we study the transfer of property $(A)$ and strong property $(A)$ in trivial ring extensions and amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal. We also exhibit a class of rings which satisfy property $(A)$ and do not satisfy strong property $(A)$.
Let $f: A\rightarrow B$ and $g: A\rightarrow C$ be two commutative ring homomorphisms and let $J$ and $J'$ be two ideals of $B$ and $C$, respectively, such that $f^{-1}(J)=g^{-1}(J')$. The \emph{bi-amalgamation} of $A$ with $(B, C)$ along $(J, J')$ with respect to $(f,g)$ is the subring of $B\times C$ given by $$A\bowtie^{f,g}(J,J'):=\big\{(f(a)+j,g(a)+j') \mid a\in A, (j,j')\in J\times J'\big\}.$$ This paper investigates ring-theoretic properties of \emph{bi-amalgamations} and capitalizes on previous works carried on various settings of pullbacks and amalgamations. In the second and third sec…
Let $f:A \rightarrow B$ be a ring homomorphism and let $J$ be an ideal of $B$. In this paper, we study the amalgamation of $A$ with $B$ along $J$ with respect to $f$, a construction that provides a general frame for studying the amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal, introduced by D'Anna and Fontana in 2007, and other classical constructions (such as the $A+ XB[X]$, the $A+ XB[\![X]\!]$ and the $D+M$ constructions). In particular, we completely describe the prime spectrum of the amalgamation and, when it is a local Noetherian ring, we study its embedding dimension and when it turns …
In this paper, we study the classes of rings in which every proper (regular) ideal can be factored as an invertible ideal times a nonempty product of proper radical ideals. More precisely, we investigate the stability of these properties under homomorphic image and their transfer to various contexts of constructions such as direct product, trivial ring extension and amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal. Our results generate examples that enrich the current literature with new and original families of rings satisfying these properties.
Given a semidualizing module $C$ over a commutative noetherian ring, Holm and Jørgensen investigate some connections between $C$-Gorenstein dimensions of an $R$-complex and Gorenstein dimensions of the same complex viewed as a complex over the "trivial extension" $R \ltimes C$. We generalize some of their results to a certain type of retract diagram. We also investigate some examples of such retract diagrams, namely D'Anna and Fontana's amalgamated duplication and Enescu's pseudocanonical cover.
Let $f:A\lo B$ be a ring homomorphism and let $J$ be an ideal of $B.$ In this paper, we investigate the transfer of notions elementary divisor ring, Hermite ring and Bézout ring to the amalgamation $A\bowtie^fJ.$ We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for $ A\bowtie^fJ$ to be an elementary divisor ring where $A$ and $B$ are integral domains. In this case it is shown that $ A\bowtie^fJ$ is an Hermite ring if and only it is a Bézout ring. In particular, we study the transfer of the previous notions to the amalgamated duplication of a ring $A$ along an $A-$submodule $E$ of $Q(A)$ such tha…
The notion of 2-almost Gorenstein local ring (2-AGL ring for short) is a generalization of the notion of almost Gorenstein local ring from the point of view of Sally modules of canonical ideals. In this paper, for further developments of the theory, we discuss three different topics on 2-AGL rings. The first one is to clarify the structure of minimal presentations of canonical ideals, and the second one is the study of the question of when certain fiber products, so called amalgamated duplications are 2-AGL rings. We also explore Ulrich ideals in 2-AGL rings, mainly two-generated ones.
