We provide a combinatorial algorithm for constructing the stable Auslander-Reiten component containing a given indecomposable module of a symmetric special biserial algebra using only information from its underlying Brauer graph. We also show that the structure of the Auslander-Reiten quiver is closely related to the distinct Green walks around the Brauer graph and detail the relationship between the precise shape of the stable Auslander-Reiten components for domestic Brauer graph algebras and their underlying graph. Furthermore, we show that the specific component containing a given simple or indecomposable projective module for any Brauer graph algebra is determined by the edge in the Brauer graph associated to the module.
By a result claimed by Pogorzały selfinjective special biserial algebras can be stably equivalent only to stably biserial algebras and these two classes coincide. By an example of Ariki, Iijima and Park the classes of stably biserial and selfinjective special biserial algebras do not coincide. An Auslander-Reiten formula for complexes of modules is presented. This formula contains as a special case the classical Auslander Reiten formula. The Auslander-Reiten translate of a complex is described explicitly, and various applications are discussed.
We analyze Auslander-Reiten components for the bounded derived category of a finite-dimensional algebra. We classify derived categories whose Auslander-Reiten quiver has either a finite stable component or a stable component with finite Dynkin tree class or a bounded stable component. Their Auslander-Reiten quiver is determined. We also determine components that contain shift periodic complexes.
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be an algebraically closed field. In this article, inspired by the description of indecomposable objects in the derived category of a gentle algebra obtained by V. Bekkert and H. A. Merklen, we define string complexes for a certain class $\mathscr{C}$ of symmetric special biserial algebras, which are indecomposable perfect complexes in the corresponding derived category. We also prove that if $Λ$ is a $\mathbf{k}$-algebra in the class $\mathscr{C}$ and $P^\bullet$ is a string complex over $Λ$, then $P^\bullet$ lies in the rim of its Auslander-Reiten component.
This paper introduces Auslander-Reiten triangles in subcategories of triangulated categories. The main theorem of the paper shows that there is a close connection with covers and envelopes, also known as minimal right- and left-approximations. Namely, under suitable assumptions, if M is an object in the subcategory C of the triangulated category T and X --> Y --> M --> is an Auslander-Reiten triangle in T, then there is an Auslander-Reiten triangle K --> L --> M --> in C if and only if there is a C-cover of the form K --> X. Auslander-Reiten conjecture, which says that an Artin algebra does not have any non-projective generator with vanishing self-extensions in all positive degrees, is shown to be invariant under certain singular equivalences induced by adjoint pairs, which occur often in matrix algebras, recollements and change of rings. Accordingly, several reduction methods are established to study this conjecture.
Let $A$ be a truncated polynomial ring over a complete discrete valuation ring $\mathcal{O}$, and we consider the additive category consisting of $A$-lattices $M$ with the property that $M\otimes \mathcal{K}$ is projective as an $A\otimes \mathcal{K}$-module, where $\mathcal{K}$ is the fraction field of $\mathcal{O}$. Then, we may define the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver of the category. We determine the shape of the components of the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver that contain Heller lattices.

This paper studies self-injective algebras of polynomial growth. We prove that the derived equivalence classification of weakly symmetric algebras of domestic type coincides with the classification up to stable equivalences (of Morita type). As for weakly symmetric non-domestic algebras of polynomial growth, up to some scalar problems, the derived equivalence classification coincides with the classification up to stable equivalences of Morita type. This article begins the study of irreducible maps involving finite-dimensional uniserial modules over finite-dimensional associative algebras. We work on the classification of irreducible maps between two uniserials over triangular algebras, and give estimates for the number of middle terms of an almost split sequence with a uniserial end term.
In this paper, we study representations of certain string algebras, which are referred to as of affine type $\widetilde{C}$. We introduce minimal string modules and apply them to explicitly describe components of the Auslander-Reiten quivers of the string algebras and $τ$-locally free modules defined by Geiss-Lerclerc-Schröer. As an application, we prove Geiss-Leclerc-Schröer's conjecture on the correspondence between positive roots of type $\widetilde{C}$ and $τ$-locally free modules of the corresponding string algebras.
Infinitely Many Components in Auslander--Reiten Quivers of Representation-Infinite Algebras over Perfect Fields

Universal extensions arise naturally in the Auslander bijections. For an abelian category having Auslander-Reiten duality, we exploit a bijection triangle, which involves the Auslander bijections, universal extensions and the Auslander-Reiten duality. Some consequences are given, in particular, a conjecture by Ringel is verified.
In this paper, Auslander-Reiten triangles are introduced into algebraic topology, and it is proved that their existence characterizes Poincare duality spaces. Invariants in the form of quivers are also introduced, and Auslander-Reiten triangles and quivers over spheres are computed. The quiver over the d-dimensional sphere turns out to consist of d-1 components, each isomorphic to ZA_{\infty}. So quivers are sufficiently sensitive invariants to tell spheres of different dimension apart.
Let $Λ$ be an Artin algebra and let $\rm{Gprj}\mbox{-}Λ$ denote the class of all finitely generated Gorenstein projective $Λ$-modules. In this paper, we study the components of the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver of a certain subcategory of the monomorphism category $\mathcal{S}({\rm Gprj}\mbox{-}Λ)$ containing boundary vertices. We describe the structure and homological properties of arbitrary generalized standard Auslander-Reiten components of artin algebras. In particular, we prove that for all but finitely many indecomposable modules in such components the Euler characteristic is defined and nonnegative. Further, we provide a handy criterion for an infinite Auslander-Reiten component of an artin algebra to be generalized standard. We solve also the long standing open problem concerning the structure of artin algebras admitting a~separating family of Auslander-Reiten components.
We describe the structure of semi-regular Auslander-Reiten components of artin algebras without external short paths in the module category. As an application we give a complete description of self-injective artin algebras whose Auslander-Reiten quiver admits a regular acyclic component without external short paths.
This article consists of an introduction to Iyama's higher Auslander-Reiten theory for Artin algebras from the viewpoint of higher homological algebra. We provide alternative proofs of the basic results in higher Auslander-Reiten theory, including the existence of $d$-almost-split sequences in $d$-cluster-tilting subcategories, following the approach to classical Auslander-Reiten theory due to Auslander, Reiten, and Smalø. In this article we describe the Auslander-Reiten quiver for some posets with an involution, that we call types $\mathfrak{U}_n$ and $\mathfrak{U}_\infty$. These posets appear in the differentiation III of Zavadskij [12]. We follow the approach to classical Auslander-Reiten theory due to Auslander, Reiten and Smalø[1]. Let Q be a strongly locally finite quiver and denote by rep(Q) the category of locally finite dimensional representations of Q over some fixed field k. The main purpose of this paper is to get a better understanding of rep(Q) by means of its Auslander-Reiten quiver. To achieve this goal, we define a category C(Q) which is a full, abelian and Hom-finite subcategory of rep(Q) containing all the almost split sequences of rep(Q). Let $A$ be an artin algebra. We show that the bounded homotopy category of finitely generated right $A$-modules has Auslander-Reiten triangles. Two applications are given: (1) we provide an alternative proof of a theorem of Happel in [H2]; (2) we prove that over a Gorenstein algebra, the bounded homotopy category of finitely generated Gorenstein projective (resp. injective) modules admits Auslander-Reiten triangles, which improves a main result in [G].
We use $t$-structures on the homotopy category $K^b(R-mod)$ for an artin algebra $R$ and Watts' representability theorem to give an existence proof for Auslander-Reiten sequences of $R$-modules.
We prove that if the Auslander-Reiten triangles generate the relations for the Grothendieck group of a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt triangulated category with a (co)generator, then the category has only finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable objects up to translation. We deduce a necessary condition for Auslander-Reiten components of the bounded derived category of a finite dimensional algebra to have Euclidean tree class by classifying certain types of irreducible maps in the category of complexes. Our main theorem classifies the Auslander-Reiten triangles according to properties of the morphisms involved. As a consequence, we are able to compute the mapping cone of an irreducible morphism. We finish by showing a technique for constructing the connecting component of the derived category of any tilted algebra. In particular we obtain a technique for constructing the derived category of any tilted algebra of finite representation type.
We will revisit Wiedemann's classification of Auslander-Reiten quivers of representation-finite Gorenstein orders in this paper. We give a simpler proof of his result in which he described the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a representation-finite Gorenstein order in terms of a Dynkin diagram, a configuration and an automorphism group. A key notion in his result is configurations described in terms of Brauer relations with so-called Straßeneigenschaft. We show that configurations can be described in terms of $2$-Brauer relations very briefly.
We show that if a connected, Hom-finite, Krull-Schmidt triangulated category has an Auslander-Reiten quiver component with Dynkin tree class then the category has Auslander-Reiten triangles and that component is the entire quiver. Given an exact category $\mathcal{C}$, we denote by $\mathcal{C}_l$ the smallest additive subcategory containing injectives and indecomposable objects which appear as the first term of an almost split conflation. Recall that an algebraic module is a KG-module that satisfies a polynomial with integer coefficients, with addition and multiplication given by direct sum and tensor product. In this article we prove that non-periodic algebraic modules are very rare, and that if the complexity of an algebraic module is at least 3, then it is the only algebraic module on its component of the (stable) Auslander--Reiten quiver. We include a strong conjecture on the relationship between periodicity and algebraicity.

Let $Λ$ be an artin algebra. The aim of this paper is to outline a strong relationship between the Gabriel-Roiter inclusions and the Auslander-Reiten theory. If $X$ is a Gabriel-Roiter submodule of $Y,$ then $Y$ is shown to be a factor module of an indecomposable module $M$ such that there exists an irreducible monomorphism $X \to M$. We also will prove that the monomorphisms in a homogeneous tube are Gabriel-Roiter inclusions, provided the the tube contains a module whose endomorphism ring is a division ring.
We recall several results in Auslander-Reiten theory for finite-dimensional algebras over fields and orders over complete local rings. Then we introduce $n$-cluster tilting subcategories and higher theory of almost split sequences and Auslander algebras there. Several examples are explained.
We introduce Auslander-Reiten sequences for group algebras and give several recent applications. The first part of the paper is devoted to some fundamental problems in Tate cohomology which are motivated by homotopy theory. In the second part of the paper we interpret Auslander-Reiten sequences in the context of Galois theory and connect them to some important arithmetic objects.
In this paper, we construct a version of Auslander-Reiten sequences for the $K(n)$-local stable homotopy category. In particular, the role of the Auslander-Reiten translation is played by the local Brown-Comenetz duality functor. As an application, we produce counterexamples to the $K(n)$-local generating hypothesis for all heights $n>0$ and all primes. Furthermore, our methods apply to other triangulated categories, as for example the derived category of quasi-coherent sheaves on a smooth projective scheme.
