The future Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) offers a possibility for a rich precision physics programme, in particular in the Higgs sector through the energy staging. This is the first paper addressing the measurement of the Standard Model Higgs boson decay into two muons at 1.4 TeV CLIC. With respect to similar studies at future linear colliders, this paper includes several novel contributions to the statistical uncertainty of the measurement. The later includes the Equivalent Photon Approximation and realistic forward electron tagging based on energy deposition maps in the forward calorimeters, as well as several processes with the Beamstrahlung photons that results in irreducible contribution to the signal. In addition, coincidence of the Bhabha scattering with the signal and background processes is considered, altering the signal selection efficiency. The study is performed using a fully simulated CLIC_ILD detector model. It is shown that the branching ratio for the Higgs decay into a pair of muons BR(${H\rightarrowμ^+μ^-}$) times the Higgs production cross-section in $WW$-fusion $σ(Hν\barν)$ can be measured with 38% statistical accuracy at ${\sqrt{s} =\text{1.4 TeV}}$, assuming an integrated luminosity of 1.5 ab$^{-1}$ with unpolarised beams. If 80% electron beam polarisation is considered, the statistical uncertainty of the measurement is reduced to 25%. Systematic uncertainties are negligible in comparison to the statistical uncertainty.
The CLIC Study that aims at a linear collider able to deliver e+e- collisions at centre-of-mass energies up to 5 TeV with luminosity of 10^35 cm^-2 s^-1 is presented. Its physics potential is outlined with special emphasis to the relationships to the experience gained in a decade of e+e- experimentation at LEP.
This paper presents the potential measurement at 1.4 TeV CLIC of the cross-section (times branching ratio) of the Higgs production via $WW$ fusion with the Higgs subsequently decaying in $ZZ^\ast$, ${σ(Hν_e\bar{ν_e})\times BR(H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast)}$, and of the Higgs production via $ZZ$ fusion with the Higgs subsequently decaying in $b\bar{b}$, ${σ(He{^+}e{^-})\times BR(H\rightarrow b\bar{b})}$. For the $H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast$ decay the hadronic final state, ${ZZ^\ast\rightarrow q\bar{q}q\bar{q}}$, and the semi-leptonic final state, ${ZZ^\ast\rightarrow q\bar{q}l^+l^-}$, are considered. The res…
In the Standard Model (SM), flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) top decays, possible at loop level only, are very strongly suppressed. Observation of any such decay would be a direct signature of physics beyond the SM. Large enhancements are possible in many "new physics" scenarios and the largest enhancement is in most cases expected for the $t\rightarrow cH$ decay. A full study for CLIC was based on the WHIZARD simulation of FCNC top decays within the 2HDM(III) model. Beam polarization and beam-induced background were taken into account. Top pair production events with the FCNC decay $t\…
The potential for the measurement of the branching ratio of the Standard Model-like Higgs boson decay into a mu+mu- pair at 1.4 TeV CLIC is analysed. The study is performed using the fully simulated CLIC_ILD detector concept, taking into consideration all the relevant physics and the beam-induced backgrounds. Despite the very low branching ratio of the H->mu+mu- decay, we show that the product of the branching ratio times the Higgs production cross section can be measured with a statistical uncertainty of 38 percent, assuming an integrated luminosity of 1.5 ab^-1 collected in five years of the…
FCNC top decays are very strongly suppressed in the Standard Model and the observation of any such decay would be a direct signature of physics beyond SM. Many "new physics" scenarios predict contributions to FCNC processes and the largest enhancement in many models is for t$\rightarrow$cH decay. Enhancements for the decay channel t$\rightarrow$c$γ$ are more modest, but the decay still has a clearly identifiable kinematic signature. Prospects for measuring these decays at CLIC running at 380 GeV were studied with full detector simulation, taking the luminosity distribution, beam polarization a…
In this paper we present results of determination of the statistical precision of Higgs branching fraction measurement, for Higgs decay to ZZ$^\ast$ pairs at 3 TeV and 350 GeV CLIC. Measurements are simulated with the CLIC_ILD detector model, taking into consideration all relevant physics and beam-induced background processes. It is shown that the product of the branching fraction BR(${H\rightarrow\thinspace ZZ^\ast}$) and the Higgs production cross-section can be measured with a relative statistical uncertainty of 3% (18%) at 3 TeV (350 GeV) center-of-mass energy, using semileptonic final sta…
The investigation of the properties of a Higgs boson, especially a test of the predicted linear dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of the final state, is currently one of the most compelling arguments for building a linear collider. We demonstrate that the large Higgs boson production cross section at a 3 TeV CLIC machine allows for a precision measurement of the Higgs branching ratios. The cross section times branching ratio of the decays H \rightarrow b^{-}b, H \rightarrow cc^{-} and H \rightarrow μμ can be measured with a statistical uncertainty of 0.22%, 3.2% and 15%, respectiv…
In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV center-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decay to two photons. Since photons are massless, they are not coupled to the Higgs boson at the tree level, but they are created in a loop exchange of heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the effective $H\rightarrowγγ$ branching ratio and consequently of the Higgs to photon coupling may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting probe of the Higgs sector, both at the running …
Jet flavour identification in multi-TeV e+e- collisions is expected to provide insights on new phenomena at scales beyond those probed by the LHC. The anticipated high track density and jet collimation represent a new challenge to jet tagging algorithms. A method, based on the sampling of the jet charged multiplicity, sensitive to the long decay length and large decay multiplicity of heavy flavour hadrons is proposed and the expected performances for the tagging of e+e- -> bb events at 3 TeV are discussed.
The Higgs boson is the most anticipated discovery at the LHC, which can only partially explore its true nature. Thus one of the most compelling arguments to build a future linear collider is to investigate properties of the Higgs boson, especially to test the predicted linear dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of the final state. At a 3TeV CLIC machine the Higgs boson production cross section is relatively large and allows for a precision measurement of the Higgs branching ratio to pairs of b and c quarks, and even to muons. The cross section times branching ratio of the decays $H\…
In this note, $\mathrm{ZHH}$ production in the all-hadronic final state is studied in $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ collisions at the Compact Linear Collider at the 3 TeV stage. At this stage this Higgs boson pair production mode is sub-leading to the $\mathrm{W}^{+}\mathrm{W}^{-}$ fusion production cross-section of $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}\rightarrow\mathrm{HH}νν$. The events are characterised by a topology of six jets, where the masses of the three pair-wise combinations of two jets are compatible with originating from two $\mathrm{H}$ and one $\mathrm{Z}$ bosons. The event selection c…
We present the performance of the LCFI flavour tagging package in a realistic CLIC environment. The application is demonstrated on the examples of the measurement of the cross section times branching ratio of light Higgs decays to b and c quarks at 3 TeV, a study of heavy Higgs decays at 3 TeV and of top pair production at 500 GeV. All studies are based on full detector simulation with a realistic account of the machine- induced background at CLIC.
This talk presents results of the two independent analyses evaluating the measurement accuracy of the branching ratio for the Standard model Higgs boson decay to a W-pair, at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) and at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The considered Higgs production channels are the WW-fusion for the highest energy stage of CLIC, $\sqrt{s}$= 3 TeV, and the Higgsstrahlung process for the nominal ILC energy, $\sqrt{s}$=500 GeV. Both studies are performed using the full simulation of the detector. The realistic experimental conditions have been simulated including beam ener…
The precise determination of the masses of the CP-odd and -even heavy Higgs bosons is an important part of the study of Supersymmetry and its relation with cosmology through dark matter. This note presents a determination of the A0 boson mass with the e+e- -> H0A0 -> b b b b process for a dark matter motivated cMSSM scenario with M(A) = 1141 GeV at CLIC. The analysis is performed with full simulation and reconstruction at 3 TeV accounting for beamstrahlung effects. SM and SUSY backgrounds are considered and the effect of the overlay of gamma gamma -> hadrons events on the signal is studied for…
Luminosity spectrum and accelerator background levels strongly influence the experimental conditions and have an important impact on detector design. The expected rates of the main beam-beam products at CLIC 3 TeV CM energy, taking into account for machine imperfections, are computed. Among the other machine-induced background the photon fans from the Incoherent Synchrotron Radiation (ISR) photons emitted in the final doublet are evaluated.
In this paper a simulation of measurements of the Higgs boson decay to electroweak bosons in $e^+e^-$ collisions at CLIC is presented. Higgs boson production and subsequent $H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast$ and $H\rightarrow WW^\ast$ decay processes were simulated alongside the relevant background processes at 350 GeV and 1.4 TeV center-of-mass energy. Full detector simulation and event reconstruction were used under realistic beam conditions. The achievable statistical precision of the measured product of the Higgs production cross section and the branching ratio for the analysed decays has been determi…

This contribution discusses the prospects for precision measurements of top-quark properties at the first stage of CLIC, based on detailed simulation studies, taking into account luminosity spectra and beam induced backgrounds, full detector simulation based on Geant4, final state reconstruction based on particl…
The determination of scalar lepton and gaugino masses is an important part of the programme of spectroscopic studies of Supersymmetry at a high energy e+e- linear collider. In this article we present results of a study of the processes: e+e- -> eR eR -> e+e- chi0 chi, e+e- -> muR muR -> mu mu- chi0 chi0, e+e- -> eL eL -> e e chi0 chi0 and e+e- -> snu_e snu_e -> e e chi+ chi-in two Supersymmetric benchmark scenarios at 3 TeV and 1.4 TeV at CLIC. We characterize the detector performance, lepton energy resolution and boson mass resolution. We report the accuracy of the production cross section me…
The branching fraction measurement of the SM-like Higgs boson decay into two muons at 1.4 TeV CLIC will be described in this paper contributed to the LCWS13. The study is performed in the fully simulated ILD detector concept for CLIC, taking into consideration all the relevant physics and the beam-induced backgrounds, as well as the instrumentation of the very forward region to tag the high-energy electrons. Higgs couplings are known to be sensitive to BSM physics and we prove that BR times the Higgs production cross section can be measured with approximately 35.5% statistical accuracy in four…
In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV centre-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the branching fraction of the Higgs boson decay to two photons, BR($H\rightarrowγγ$). Since photons are massless, the Higgs boson coupling to photons is realized through higher order processes involving heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the measured BR($H\rightarrowγγ$), and consequently of the Higgs coupling $g_{Hγγ}$ from the predictions of the Standard Model, may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting …
We present a study of the prospects for the measurement of TeV-scale light-flavored right-squark masses and the corresponding production cross section at a 3 TeV e+e- collider based on CLIC technology. The analysis, performed in the framework of the CLIC Conceptual Design Report, is based on full Geant4 simulations of the CLIC_ILD detector concept, including standard model physics background and machine related hadronic background from two-photon processes. The events are reconstructed using particle flow event reconstruction, and the mass is obtained from a template fit built from generator-l…
The mass of the Higgs boson is measured in the $H\rightarrow ZZ^* \rightarrow 4\ell$ and in the $H\rightarrow γγ$ decay channels with 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data from the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016. The measured value in the $H\rightarrow ZZ^* \rightarrow 4\ell$ channel is $m_{H}^{ZZ^{*}} = 124.79 \pm 0.37$ GeV, while the measured value in the $H\rightarrow γγ$ channel is $m_{H}^{γγ} = 124.93 \pm 0.40$ GeV. Combining these results with the ATLAS measurement based on 7 TeV and 8 TeV proton-proton …
In this paper we investigate the prospects for measuring the branching fraction of the Standard Model Higgs boson decay into a pair of $Z$ bosons at the future Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) at 350 GeV and 3 TeV centre-of-mass energies. Studies are performed using a detailed simulation of the detector for CLIC, taking into consideration all relevant physics and beam-induced background processes. It is shown that the product of the Higgs production cross-section and the branching fraction BR(${H\rightarrow\thinspace ZZ^\ast}$) can be measured with a relative statistical uncertainty of 20% (3.0%…
In this note the $\mathrm{HZ}$ production in the all-hadronic final state in $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ collisions at the Compact Linear Collider is studied at the 3 TeV stage. At high energies, the events have an experimental signature of back-to-back approximately mono-energetic large jets. Each of these jets contains two sub-jets and substructure compatible with two original objects. The study is based on full simulation including the detector response, as well as the presence of beam-induced background from $γγ\to\mathrm{hadrons}$. Results on the measurement of the total $\mathrm{HZ}$ …
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a proposed TeV-scale high-luminosity electron-positron collider at CERN. The first CLIC running stage, at 380\,GeV, will focus on precision Higgs boson and top quark studies while the main aim of the subsequent high-energy stages, at 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV, is to extend the sensitivity of CLIC to different Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) scenarios. We studied the prospects for measuring invisible Higgs boson and additional heavy scalar decays using CLIC data at 380 GeV and 1.5 TeV. The analysis is based on the WHIZARD event generator, with fast simulation of th…
We present a measurement of the $W$ boson production charge asymmetry in $p\bar{p}\rightarrow W+X \rightarrow eν+X$ events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV, using 9.7 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The neutrino longitudinal momentum is determined using a neutrino weighting method, and the asymmetry is measured as a function of the $W$ boson rapidity. The measurement extends over wider electron pseudorapidity region than previous results, and is the most precise to date, allowing for precise determination of proton part…
We present a study performed for the CLIC CDR on the measurement of chargino and neutralino production at sqrt(s) = 3 TeV. Results obtained using full detector simulation for the masses and for the production cross sections of the changino and the lightest and next-to-lightest neutralinos are discussed.
This contribution to LCWS2016 presents recent developments within the CLICdp collaboration. An updated scenario for the staged operation of CLIC has been published; the accelerator will operate at 380 GeV, 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV. The lowest energy stage is optimised for precision Higgs and top physics, while the higher energy stages offer extended Higgs and BSM physics sensitivity. The detector models CLIC_SiD and CLIC_ILD have been replaced by a single optimised detector; CLICdet. Performance studies and R&D in technologies to meet the requirements for this detector design are ongoing.

The asymmetry is measured as a function of the electron pseudorapidity and is presented in five kinematic bins based on the electron transverse energy and the missing transverse energy in the event. The measured asymmetry is compared with next-to-leading-order predictions in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and …
The physics potential for boosted topologies in top-quark pair production is studied at centre-of-mass energies of 1.4 TeV and 3 TeV at the proposed high-luminosity linear electron-positron Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). The analyses presented in this paper focus on "single lepton+jets" ttbar final states and apply jet sub-structure techniques to explore the highly collimated jet environment above 1 TeV. The charged lepton is used to determine the charge of both top quarks. We present results for the ttbar production cross section and the forward-backward asymmetry in the kinematic region whe…

The measured integrated ratio of $0.0236\pm0.0032\left(\mbox{stat}\right)\pm0.0035\left(\mbox{syst}\right)$ is i…
An updated luminosity staging baseline for CLIC is presented. Assuming accelerator ramp-up and up-time scenarios that are harmonized with those of other potential future colliders, CLIC will deliver 1 ab^-1 at sqrt(s)=380 GeV, 2.5 ab^-1 at sqrt(s)=1.5 TeV, and 5 ab^-1 at sqrt(s)=3 TeV. The complete programme will take 25-30 years. The baseline scenario for luminosity sharing between the two electron beam polarisation states is also discussed. Updated Higgs coupling sensitivities are given for this new luminosity staging baseline.

The $Z\rightarrow\ell^+\ell^-$ candidate events with at least one $b$ jet are discriminated from $Z+$ charm and light jet(s) events by a novel technique that exploits the properties of the tracks associated to the jet. The measured ratio is $0.0193\pm0.0027$ for events having a jet wi…

The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a future electron-positron collider that will allow measurement of the trilinear Higgs self-coupling in double Higgs boson events produced at its high-energy stages with collision energies of $\sqrt{s}$ = 1.5 and 3 TeV. The sensitivity to the Higgs self-coupling is driven by the measurements of the cross section and the invariant mass distribution of the Higgs-boson pair in the W-boson fusion process, e$^+$e$^-\to$HH$ν_e \barν_e$. It is enhanced by including the cross-section measurement of ZHH production at 1.5 TeV. The expected sensitivity of CLIC for Hi…
The Inert Doublet Model (IDM) is a simple extension of the Standard Model, introducing an additional Higgs doublet that brings in four new scalar particles. The lightest of the IDM scalars is stable and is a good candidate for a dark matter particle. The potential of discovering the IDM scalars in the experiment at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC), an e$^{+}$e$^{-}$ collider proposed as the next generation infrastructure at CERN, has been tested for two high-energy running stages, at 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV centre-of-mass energy. The CLIC sensitivity to pair-production of the charged IDM scalars w…

The search is interpreted in terms of both a left-handed and a right-handed chiral $W'$ boson within the mass range 1-5 TeV. Identification of the hadronically decaying top quark is performed using jet substructure tagging techniques based on a shower deconstruction algorithm. No significant deviation from the Standard Model predicti…
The potential for detecting DM at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is investigated at \mbox{$\sqrt{s}=$ 3 TeV}. The sensitivity of the search is estimated by computing the 95\% confidence level upper limit cross section as a function of the dark matter mass. Left-handed (right-handed) polarised \Pem beams increase (decrease) respectively the Standard Model backgrounds and are essential to characterize the WIMPs properties and control the systematic errors. Using right-handed polarised \Pem beams is decreasing significantly the 95\% confidence level cross section. Using the ratio of the energ…
Gamma-proton collisions allow unprecedented investigations of the low x and high $Q^{2}$ regions in quantum chromodynamics. The ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is used to search for the lepton flavor violating process $Z \rightarrow e μ$ in pp collisions using 20.3 $fb^{-1}$ of data collected at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV. An enhancement in the $e μ$ invariant mass spectrum is searched for at the Z boson mass. The number of Z bosons produced in the data sample is estimated using events of similar topology, $Z \rightarrow ee$ and $μμ$, significantly reducing the systematic uncertainty in the measurement. There is no evidence of an enhancement at the Z boson mass, resulting in an upper limit on the branching frac…

We find no evidence for anomalous $WWZ$ couplings and set 95% C.L. limits on the coupling parameters, $-0.075 < λ_{Z} < 0.093$ and $-0.027 …
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a proposed TeV-scale high-luminosity electron-positron collider. For an optimal exploitation of its physics potential, CLIC is foreseen to be built and operated in three stages, with centre-of-mass energies ranging from 380 GeV up to 3 TeV. Electron beam polarisation is provided at all energies. The initial energy stage will focus on precision measurements of Higgs-boson and top-quark properties. The subsequent energy stages enhance the reach of many direct and indirect searches for new physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) and give access to the Higgs s…
A search for a massive $W'$ gauge boson decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark is performed with the ATLAS detector in $pp$ collisions at the LHC. The dataset was taken at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV and corresponds to 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. This analysis is done in the hadronic decay mode of the top quark, where novel jet substructure techniques are used to identify jets from high-momentum top quarks. This allows for a search for high-mass $W'$ bosons in the range $1.5 - 3.0$ TeV. $b$-tagging is used to identify jets originating from $b$-quarks. The dat…
